00:00In that first day, we recorded a very interesting scene,
00:03which is where Oscar Restrepo, or one of the scenes,
00:06where Oscar Restrepo is completely asleep,
00:10sleeping on the floor,
00:12on the way of the friends of the street,
00:15so it was very interesting,
00:17because this scene was recorded
00:19alongside a school of beauty,
00:23and barbers, and so on,
00:25and that scene, which is in less than two seconds,
00:27was very intense, because they left me on the floor
00:29for 15 minutes,
00:31and when the director Corten said,
00:35someone came from that school,
00:36I imagine that a barber,
00:37a gritar, a viva voice,
00:39Cine Colombiano Hijueputa,
00:40and that Hijueputa,
00:41it was never going to forget,
00:42it was a lot of strength from that first time.
00:57I'm a teacher,
00:58and from one moment to another,
01:00by these things,
01:02a son of my wife,
01:04I had the opportunity to get a little closer to the film,
01:07and being a friend of Simon,
01:10when I read the film,
01:11I knew that that that character was mine,
01:15so he told me that Simon Mesa,
01:17that he had a poet,
01:19and Simon said to me,
01:20he told me,
01:22he told me,
01:22that if he wants to present the casting,
01:24and then,
01:25somehow,
01:26I convinced Carlos Eduardo
01:28and my wife Clara Elena Vélez,
01:30to present the casting,
01:32and also,
01:32I also motivated the fact that my daughter is actress,
01:35and well,
01:35there were other things that I did,
01:38I took the decision to present it,
01:40and I presented it,
01:42and the days,
01:44and the months,
01:46and then,
01:47and then,
01:48after a year,
01:48I came to call for a casting,
01:50with Libretto,
01:51because the writing,
01:52at the beginning,
01:53they didn't give us,
01:54they just told us the story,
01:56and we put them to improvise,
01:58and then,
01:58after that second casting,
02:00with Libretto,
02:02there were three or four days,
02:05after that,
02:06after that,
02:06as the protagonist of this movie,
02:09so,
02:09directed by Simone Meza.
02:11Inicialmente,
02:12the approach to the character
02:13had to do with the previous shows,
02:14before the film,
02:16We,
02:16in the months of November and December,
02:18of 2024,
02:20we were ensaying,
02:22all the actors,
02:23let's say,
02:24with actors,
02:25and even Simone Meza,
02:27giving us directrices.
02:28So,
02:29we started to know the story.
02:30After that,
02:32a month before the film,
02:33we started to record,
02:34there were the film,
02:35there were the film,
02:37which had to do with the actors,
02:40and with the actors,
02:43the empathy with the character,
02:45because if you read the book,
02:46let's say,
02:47it was a lot.
02:48In that sense,
02:49we have to do with the empathy,
02:52with certain aspects of the personality,
02:54and what we do in the life that we have both,
02:57is to say,
02:58Oscar,
02:59amante of the poetry,
02:59as I said,
03:00Uweimar Ríos,
03:01also.
03:02Oscar,
03:02fracasado in literature,
03:04who also speaks to us.
03:05Oscar and I,
03:06in the 1990s,
03:08we were able to have a certain recognition,
03:10because we won the premies of Casas de la Cultura,
03:14and there was a publication there,
03:15but never again happened to us in terms of literature.
03:19In addition,
03:21with certain noble,
03:23we were able to say that we were a professor of philosophy,
03:27and all of this,
03:28and for Cardi,
03:29we were a gust of the liquor.
03:30So,
03:32we were both the character,
03:34and I was the character,
03:35so we had a relationship,
03:38and I would say that in those days of the recording,
03:42and then after that,
03:43we had a little bit of an intrinsic relationship.
03:45What is your success?
03:51The success,
03:52fundamentally,
03:53I consider to be able to do it in life,
03:56to do what one wants to do,
04:00right?
04:00For me,
04:01independent of if we do wrong,
04:03or we do well,
04:04the only fact that we do what we like to do
04:07and that we always like to do,
04:08it would be a success.
04:11And let's say that the success is a constant company,
04:14constant.
04:15I think that that's why a lot of people
04:17can identify with Oscar,
04:18because I suppose that the majority of human beings
04:21are failing from one or other way
04:24in the different dimensions of life.
04:26So, the failure in itself is not to be able to do what one wants,
04:34or to be able to do what one wants,
04:35or to be able to do what we want and not to do.
04:37How did you feel that it is a political crime of life?
04:43I have surprised the comments that I received
04:47with relation to what people feel when they see the film,
04:51and it has to do with what they say since they say
04:53of honestness in the characters,
04:55this has surprised me a lot and so I like when they say
04:58what they saw,
04:59what they saw,
05:00what they see,
05:00that honestness,
05:01that I don't know what, so I'm surprised that because at the end of the
05:05truth, we gave it all, but we didn't know that we were able to reach
05:11these points, so I'm surprised also the fact that a film that was
05:15designed for a national audience, that somehow, so hard to do
05:19international, I'm surprised, for example, that the peruans, when they
05:23watched the film, or some of them, they considered the film very
05:27good, because they were very peruanas. Also, there was a comment from
05:32someone in Cannes, when he said, what character is more
05:39soy yo. So, something that surprised me, and also, me sorprendió
05:43much the ovation that there was in Cannes, when he finished the
05:46film, because we're talking about that the applause was more
05:49than 8 or 9 minutes, so it was a great surprise for one, but that
05:55also came the auto-saboteo, in the sense that one thought, no,
05:59well, what do I want to deserve this? What do I want to do? I don't
06:01know, I'm not a professional actor. In all cases, me sorprendió
06:04that the effort that we made made have reached such a point.
06:15Or like now Allвой Pat, I I don't know what happened in the
06:15There, for example, is that, everywhere, Maurice, what
06:20cool thing is, whatulle what the and what the
06:22other way I'm is confused, what kind of
16:30¿no?
17:00Gracias.
