00:00:08This is my name, and my name is Andrey Baturich.
00:00:11It's my name.
00:00:13It's like a chicken.
00:00:19Is it cold?
00:00:25Like a dog.
00:00:26It's cold.
00:00:28It's not hot.
00:00:31It's cold.
00:00:34Let's go.
00:00:44You need 5 grams.
00:00:47Look at this.
00:00:50All right.
00:00:52All right.
00:00:53All right.
00:00:54All right.
00:00:55All right.
00:00:55All right.
00:00:55All right.
00:00:59I am back from my break and I wanted to talk about kind of like what I've been doing and
00:01:08what I'm going to do like through the day and what I'm going to do in the future, right?
00:01:18You know, a lot of my clips for videos and sometimes even like the entire videos, right?
00:01:27I guess when the video is an entire clip.
00:01:31They are usually about one thing.
00:01:33This is kind of a different thing because I'm talking about many, many stuff, right?
00:01:40First of all, my break was all right.
00:01:46It was okay.
00:01:47I spend my day mostly doing anything.
00:01:52One thing that I guess it's good that always helps me, you know, be comfortable, like feel good is the
00:02:07idea that I can be absorbed in something or like be absorbed in something that is sufficient by itself.
00:02:19So, you know, if I feel like watching anime, I feel like doing this thing completely independent of what anyone
00:02:27else is doing or what anyone else is saying or is happening in the world or whatever.
00:02:33Just because I feel like doing something just doing it.
00:02:38And that's a good thing.
00:02:40But if I only follow whatever I feel in the moment, like a lot of times I just end up
00:02:45laying down all day.
00:02:48So it's better to have some sense of direction of like what you are going to do.
00:02:54And in the past, I used to even keep it in a journal, like tomorrow I'm going to do this
00:03:00or stuff like that.
00:03:01But I'm going to stop doing that because I realized that at least if I only have like a relative
00:03:10sense of what I'm trying to do, like I tend to do it.
00:03:13It is better when I don't have that sense, which is why I took the break, right?
00:03:21I took the break just to be like that.
00:03:23So a lot of the time I spent laying down just like, you know, I knew it was going to
00:03:30happen.
00:03:30I just allowed it, which is good.
00:03:33The problem is when I don't want to do that and I ended up doing it anyways, right?
00:03:41But that doesn't happen too much.
00:03:47But I've been watching anime and between other stuff, you know, browsing the web, stuff like that.
00:04:00One thing I found out like browsing the web, like most websites are inactive, that are inactive.
00:04:06You know, I already spoke about, well, I already wrote about this, right?
00:04:14One of my blogs, one of my microblogs.
00:04:19But then I talk about artists, like artists using websites just to kind of show like a design or something
00:04:25and then never using it again.
00:04:27But another thing I noticed is that a lot of websites that are abandoned are from like 2019 to 2023,
00:04:41right?
00:04:41So it's just like COVID.
00:04:45It's just COVID.
00:04:47After COVID, like people are like, okay, I'm not, I don't want to do anything with this shit and they
00:04:52moved on.
00:04:54But to be fair, I am exploring websites that, you know, are abandoned.
00:04:58And therefore it is very likely that the websites they link to are abandoned as well.
00:05:07Most of them don't even work.
00:05:09Like they don't even link anywhere.
00:05:11It's broken links.
00:05:15But that's fine.
00:05:16That's just one thing that I've been doing.
00:05:19Another thing that I've been doing is I've been watching Magical Nyan Nyan Taruto, which is from the same mangaka
00:05:27that made, it's an adaptation of a manga by the same mangaka that made Ufo Princess, which I liked.
00:05:40And, well, I didn't watch like all of the seasons.
00:05:43I watched only the first season and I thought it was good, but I wanted to check out this because
00:05:48my favorite part of Ufo Princess were like the, the cat girl mates.
00:05:57I liked that, so I was like, maybe I should check this one out because it's about a cat girl.
00:06:03And I will give my opinion on it later when I finish it because I'm only on episode eight.
00:06:08And I already have things to say about it, but I will keep my, my reservations until, I will keep
00:06:16my, my thoughts on it until I finish it, which I'm going to do today probably.
00:06:22And you will get to see it because this is a blog, right?
00:06:26So you will get to see it probably.
00:06:28Um, another thing I've been doing, I've been watching like, um, uh, you know, low effort anime that have lit,
00:06:41uh, have a few episodes, right?
00:06:45Like few episodes and short episodes.
00:06:47And a lot of that is like hentai anime because, you know, they tend to be like OBS, OBAs that
00:06:54at most have like three episodes.
00:06:57Uh, and I guess I could, I could talk about both, right?
00:07:03Because I'm on internet archive, so it's not like they're going to take my video down on internet archive.
00:07:12They don't give a fuck.
00:07:13In fact, one of the, the, the hentai anime, I got it from internet archive.
00:07:19So, you know, they don't give a shit.
00:07:26Um, but, uh, I don't know, I don't, I don't really feel like talking about it because the only thing
00:07:31I could say is like, well, I'm not into this or I expected to be more like this.
00:07:37And it didn't, it didn't, it wasn't like that.
00:07:40So at the end, I didn't really enjoy it.
00:07:42You know, I don't really have like a lot to say about a lot of hentai anime, I guess.
00:07:49But, uh, another thing I watched was, um, show me your panties while you give me that disgusted look.
00:07:59This anime was pretty good.
00:08:01Uh, you know, I have a little bit to say about it.
00:08:06Uh, but it's, it's nothing like profound.
00:08:11Um, like the, the show is about like, uh, exactly what, what the title says.
00:08:19Like it's a girl, uh, I will tell you how the episode goes.
00:08:23Like every episode is the same.
00:08:25They are five minute episodes and each episode goes, uh, like this.
00:08:33First, the girl is like telling you like how, how highly they think of you.
00:08:41And then, uh, you ask them.
00:08:45So it is a first person anime.
00:08:47So it is from the, from the perspective of the character.
00:08:51And, and it is a silent protagonist.
00:08:53So you have to fill it up, fill it up.
00:08:55What, what he's saying.
00:08:58But he asked them to show them their panties.
00:09:04And she thinks she's disgusted by this idea, but she does it anyway, because I don't know.
00:09:12She just feels like it, I guess.
00:09:14Like most of the time, like she's not really, you know, forced to do it.
00:09:19Right.
00:09:21But she does anyway, like kind of a favor, you know, she's like, um, you know, you get
00:09:28to see the opinion that she, she has on you, uh, go down.
00:09:34That's the thing, right?
00:09:36So this is like sort of a masochist fetish, right?
00:09:41Like this multifaceted, uh, there is a masochist side and a sadistic side, I guess, because on
00:09:51the masochist side, yeah, the girl is calling you names and she obviously fucking hates you,
00:09:57right?
00:09:57Um, she thinks you are disgusting.
00:10:02And on the other side, uh, you know, there is a like sort of sadistic side because, uh,
00:10:07despite the fact that she, she thinks partly of you and she's like disgusted by you, she
00:10:12does it anyway.
00:10:13So, but this anime kind of leans on, on the former, on the other, like the girls are not
00:10:19really forced to do it in, in many cases, I guess the only exception will be like the
00:10:25first episode where it's like an employer employee relationship with a maid.
00:10:31So there's like a power dynamic there, but outside of that, on the last episode, which
00:10:37is a bet, which I don't know how, I wouldn't say it is like the most forced thing ever.
00:10:43Like you could probably break up a bet.
00:10:46Like no one will give a fuck.
00:10:48Um, yeah, most of the time is there, there is no blackmail.
00:10:53You are not being threatened.
00:10:55So it's, there's not much of the sadistic aspect to it, but there is some gratification.
00:11:00I guess you could get out of that.
00:11:03Uh, I certainly did get somebody, it was good.
00:11:09Okay.
00:11:09It was good.
00:11:09But if you are into the most mad, more masochistic side, you probably enjoy it more.
00:11:13No, that's what I'm trying to say.
00:11:16Um, but yeah, and I guess that's about like what, what I've been doing.
00:11:24And right now, what I'm going to do right now is I'm probably going to finish, uh, Magical
00:11:33Nyan Nyan Taruto.
00:11:34Yeah.
00:11:35And after that, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know how much time it's going to take
00:11:39because sometimes I just keep pausing, keep pausing and start looking at the ceiling for
00:11:44like 30 minutes.
00:11:45So now that they come back.
00:11:49Um, but yeah.
00:11:51Yeah.
00:11:52And, uh, after that, I don't know, I haven't, I still have to finish like reading EF, like
00:11:59the visual novel.
00:12:01Um, it's been, uh, okay.
00:12:04I would say, but maybe I should keep my opinions about it until the moment that I finish it.
00:12:12I'm at the point where of the first tale at the point where it switches the perspective
00:12:19of the characters after you, after you finish the main route, right?
00:12:24It changes perfect perspective to your best friend character, which I think it is interesting,
00:12:31right?
00:12:31Most of the time the best friend character is just there to be like a joke and he, he doesn't
00:12:38get with any girls, he just, he kind of sits about it.
00:12:43Well, I guess that that's, that's the impression that I take from watching anime adaptations.
00:12:48Like I haven't played many games and like, you know, Galge where you have like a friend,
00:12:55um, the protagonist has a friend, but yeah, I guess that's about it.
00:13:02And then I guess it's like the future, like what, what am I going to do?
00:13:06Um, so these are like the three topics for this video, right?
00:13:09Like what I've been doing, what I'm going to do now and what I'm going to do in the future
00:13:15in like a creative sense, you know, I said I wanted to make games and stuff like that.
00:13:20Uh, I'm still trying to figure that out because I would like to make something using Python
00:13:26because I also want to learn Python and you know, why not kill two birds with one stone
00:13:31or whatever, whatever the saying is.
00:13:34Uh, sort of learning Python and learning, you know, making a game, game dev.
00:13:41And the game I think would be like a puzzle game because I think, I think a puzzle game
00:13:46would be like the easiest thing to do.
00:13:48Although I'm not entirely sure, but it would teach me about logic of like using the language
00:13:55or whatever engine I'm using to, to do logic, which is like the main thing you need for a game.
00:14:02I think.
00:14:04Um, what else, what else?
00:14:10Um, but I think I'm not going to start making games yet.
00:14:15Uh, oh yeah.
00:14:17About, um, stuff about Python.
00:14:20Um, I know that there is like Godot and Godot uses like a version of Python.
00:14:25I think, I think maybe it is like Python.
00:14:30I think I've heard, you know, I'm not entirely sure, but I think it is like Python.
00:14:37Um, it's called G script, I think.
00:14:40I'm not sure.
00:14:41Or Godot script.
00:14:42I don't know.
00:14:43Uh, but I don't want to use Godot.
00:14:46Uh, I would like something that is like simpler.
00:14:52Um, something that has a lot more to do about programming and less about nodes and shit like
00:14:57that.
00:14:58Maybe I'm, it's ridiculous.
00:15:00Maybe I'm, I'm not understanding Godot.
00:15:02And that's why I'm saying this.
00:15:04Um, but you have all of these nodes and they are like, this is the parent node.
00:15:09And this is like the, the child node.
00:15:10But what, what is happening?
00:15:11What is this about?
00:15:15Uh, you know, when I was a while ago, I was learning, uh, C right.
00:15:21I was learning C and I was making a game as well.
00:15:25You know, I did this before.
00:15:27Right.
00:15:28I already know some, some stuff.
00:15:30Uh, I was making a game in C.
00:15:31I mean, I've been using SDL for displaying.
00:15:37Holy shit.
00:15:38Like I cannot make a long videos.
00:15:40Like my throat starts killing me.
00:15:44Uh, yeah, I was using this DL to display like the image, uh, making a window was, was hell.
00:15:59Uh, I needed like to, to go around looking for like tutorials and stuff like that.
00:16:05And it was, I'm not sure, entirely sure, but it was working pretty good.
00:16:08Like the game, it was an RPG.
00:16:10I think an RPG is too, too ambitious of a, of a first game because, you know, there are
00:16:17a lot of variables and like attack values and, you know, health value for enemies and
00:16:22stuff like that.
00:16:23Maybe it is too complicated for a first game.
00:16:26So a puzzle game would probably be better because, uh, you just kind of have to keep
00:16:31track of like the key things and see if the puzzle is like sold.
00:16:37Uh, that, that would be about it.
00:16:41But, um, yeah, I don't know if I'm going to, to, to go directly into, um, making games
00:16:50yet.
00:16:51Making games is kind of like the, the ultimate thing because it requires, uh, to have some
00:16:57understanding of why did the camera go blurry?
00:17:00I don't know.
00:17:02Um, some understanding of, of a lot of things that come into, you know, you need to know,
00:17:08know sound programming and you need to know like graphic stuff, like making graphics and
00:17:13making music.
00:17:14If you want to have music in your game, right?
00:17:17I would like to, right?
00:17:19So I would have to make my own music, which I have no fucking clue.
00:17:23I've never made music in my life.
00:17:25The only music I've made is like vaporwave and that's like just sampling shit and just,
00:17:31just slowing it down and jumping it.
00:17:34Um, and what else?
00:17:37And unlike ambient music, which I made, you know, the, the tracks I use for my videos,
00:17:42because I made some, uh, of the tracks, like, not like the intro and stuff like that, but
00:17:48some of the ambient stuff you hear, I did make.
00:17:51Some of, of that is like, um, just other music slow down and like, it's the same method,
00:18:00like the same idea.
00:18:00I think it has a name, like it's a, some genre of vaporwave, like slush wave or like,
00:18:09I don't fucking know.
00:18:10It's like some stuff like that.
00:18:11It's like another internet genre.
00:18:17Um, um, um, um, so I needed to learn to make music more or less at least.
00:18:26And I already have an idea of what I'm going to do, but I'm not going to say anything just
00:18:30in case I decide to do something entirely different.
00:18:34So what I'm going to do instead, right?
00:18:37For the creative stuff, because I need to have a direction of what I want to make.
00:18:41And it's probably going to be, uh, I'm going, you know, because of the sign.
00:18:48Like, you know what sign I'm talking about?
00:18:50Sorry.
00:18:50It's zine, right?
00:18:52It's not zine, it's zine.
00:18:57So you know the zine, right?
00:18:59Uh, the, what is, what the fuck is it called?
00:19:04Like, I don't remember.
00:19:05The, you know, the Dempachan zine.
00:19:10Uh, it was good and I enjoyed it.
00:19:12And I, I thought to myself, well, I, I could try to make a zine myself and, but not a
00:19:18collaborative
00:19:19zine.
00:19:20Like zine doesn't have to be a collaboration between people.
00:19:24It can be right.
00:19:26That's what it is.
00:19:27But you can just make one for yourself.
00:19:30And I, I wanted to maybe do that.
00:19:34Maybe do a zine.
00:19:36Um, yeah.
00:19:38So maybe I would try to do that.
00:19:41Well, I'll see you after, you know, later during the day.
00:19:45This is more of a vlog than my previous videos, I guess.
00:20:26Yeah.
00:20:30Yeah.
00:20:32I can do it.
00:20:35You're gonna hit the left.
00:20:38You're gonna.
00:20:40Let's go.
00:21:08Let's go.
00:21:38Let's go.

00:50:20for the purpose of the video, like, instead, if I have something that I make because I
00:50:24enjoy it, I include it in the video, which I guess is, it's better for me, right? I'm
00:50:29not saying that you should do that or whatever. I don't know who you are, like, who the fuck
00:50:35are you, man? Why are you watching my videos?
00:50:39Um, uh, yeah, I think that's about it, yeah.
00:50:55I am currently watching Gojira, but this video is not about Gojira, this video is about something
00:51:01else. Um, this video is about machine translation. Now, I have a lot of opinions about machine
00:51:12translation, and they're mostly related to, um, reader response criticism, because one
00:51:22of the reasons, well, there are various reasons why people don't like machine translation.
00:51:30Um, and one of the reasons is because they want the text or whatever is that is being translated
00:51:37to be as close to the source as possible, uh, because of the vision of the artist. And
00:51:45I generally don't care about the vision of the artist or the author, uh, or the intended
00:51:52meaning, right? The authorial intent is not something that I care about. Um, but there's
00:52:02also another reason why people, uh, do not like machine translation, and it is that you're
00:52:09basically reading another text, a different text, and the text is fucked up. It's, it's,
00:52:15it's a terrible translation, basically. So, the second reason is that it is bad, basically,
00:52:22it is bad. Um, now, when people say something like they love language, also, by the way, uh,
00:52:29uh, before someone points it out, yes, I like my own tweets, but I have a reason for that.
00:52:36And I, I will not explain it in this video, maybe in another video I will explain why I
00:52:39like my own tweets, but that doesn't fucking matter. Um, just, just wanted to say that.
00:52:46Um, so, when people say that they love language, they usually refer to the ability of a person
00:52:57to put into words, uh, their sentiments, or their emotions, or a message, uh, the many
00:53:05ways in which we can say something, right? That's what usually people refer to when they
00:53:10say that they love language. Now, I particularly like the receiving end. I like the ability of
00:53:17people to interpret things in many ways. Usually, we call it a misunderstanding, or we call it,
00:53:28uh, you know, an erroneous interpretation, right? A mistaken interpretation. Now, I believe
00:53:36that interpretations are not mistaken. What can be mistaken is the explanation for a given interpretation.
00:53:45I will not go into detail about this, and the way I describe it sounds pretty shitty, because
00:53:52if someone is obviously wrong about something, uh, how is it that they don't have a wrong
00:53:59interpretation? Um, but as I said, I'm not going to go into this, into detail about this,
00:54:04because I don't want to be here, you know, 50 minutes talking about it. Like, my throat is
00:54:11already killing me, so I'm not going to go into detail about it. Uh, but what I like
00:54:16is this interpretative aspect of it. Um, and people can be wrong about their interpretations,
00:54:24but not about the interpretation, but their explanations. And if the explanation is, you
00:54:29know, is interrogated, basically, um, or is put into question, which is something that you
00:54:36can do, and there's nothing wrong with it. Um, if given a contradiction, then one can assume
00:54:46that there is some kind of mistake, but let's actually talk about the thing I do like, right?
00:54:53Which I've been saying, uh, I'm trying to give context into this thing, so it doesn't sound
00:54:59completely insane, right? So I do like this interpretative aspect, and, uh, with machine
00:55:08translation, uh, there are some things about it that kind of increase the interpretative work
00:55:17that you can do. First of all, because it is so bad, right? Uh, a lot of the time, it's
00:55:24just
00:55:24kind of stripped out of context, right? And, uh, you need to do more work, you know, to try
00:55:34to interpret what you are reading. You have to do more exercise in your liberty as a reader
00:55:41to, to understand the work, and therefore it gives more way to, to a larger possibility
00:55:51of understanding the work. Now, when I say understanding the work, I don't mean understanding whatever
00:55:57the author was trying to make, right? But, uh, but your understanding of it, right? Which
00:56:07is to your, for yourself. And I will speak about this, because this is the second reason why
00:56:13people do not like MTL, is because you cannot really communicate about a text that is completely
00:56:19different from another one, right? If you have a given translation, and everyone is on the
00:56:25same translation, then everyone can have discussion about it, because it's the same thing. But,
00:56:31if it is not, then they cannot, right? And, well, I don't have discussions with people about
00:56:37things. So, technically, I don't really care. And I understand the distinction between one thing
00:56:42and the other. So, as long as you understand that distinction, I don't think it really matters. As long
00:56:49as you understand that you are reading something completely different, I don't think it really matters
00:56:53what you read. You can do whatever you want. Um, so, that's one of the things, right? Because it's
00:57:04so fucked up, it creates that interesting, uh, work that you have to put in to, to understand it. But,
00:57:14additionally, just by the fact that it's MTL, right? It's machine translation. Uh, you have a little bit
00:57:21of skepticism about the work, uh, because you can be like, oh, well, this text could be a
00:57:28mistranslation. So, even the text by itself, just by its nature, by the way it was made,
00:57:35it was generated, it has, um, a property that makes you want to question it. It's kind of like
00:57:43you are fighting against the text. It's pretty cool. It's a pretty cool thing. So, personally,
00:57:49I think MTL is cool. I like it. Uh, even if it is not, you know, the, the best way
00:57:57to understand,
00:57:59you know, for discussion, right? It's not good for having discussions about things. Um, but
00:58:05I think it is fine. It is like, it's like interesting way of experiencing something that I think is,
00:58:13uh, it's kind of shopped, uh, you know, all of the way because, uh, it doesn't, uh, accommodate for, uh,
00:58:23the, the authorial intent and the, the artistic vision and stuff like that, which, personally, I don't care.
00:58:44okay.
00:59:26Up to the top 3, I'll be talking to you later...
00:59:28I'll be talking to you later...
