00:00Because you wrote another article saying, hey, things look pretty bleak, 10 games under .500,
00:05but Mattingly's been here before, and he's done quite well.
00:07What can you tell us about that?
00:09Yeah, it's amazing.
00:10You know, maybe you were carrying this part of Donnie's session with us yesterday,
00:14but I asked him, nobody knows more than you how long a baseball season is.
00:20So is there a season in your past that you can draw on where your team had a rough start?
00:26And he said, go look up what happened in L.A.
00:29where we had a couple seasons.
00:31I'm pretty sure we were 10 games out and won by 10 games.
00:34So I went and looked, and two years in a row, when he was the manager of the Dodgers,
00:40they looked up in June.
00:42This is 2013 and 2014.
00:44And one year they were nine and a half games out, but also way under .500.
00:49And the other year they were 10 games out with a slightly better record.
00:55Both years, they got rolling and they finished first.
01:00So today looked into this a little bit, and this is pretty amazing.
01:06How many teams do you think have ever been nine and a half games out or more two years in
01:13a row
01:13and came back to finish first?
01:15The only manager who has ever done that in the history of this sport is Don Mattingly.
01:21Now, you know, it's obviously a big leap to say, well, that's what's going to happen here.
01:26But it's really interesting that the manager that they brought in has been there and done that, isn't it?
01:31And then...
