00:00Danny, we've got a couple of cross-border deals to boot as well.
00:03First up is Italy's Angelini Pharma, eyeing a bid for U.S.-listed Catalyst Pharmaceuticals.
00:08Bloomberg has learned that the talks are still at an early stage,
00:11and Angelini, which makes popular OTC medications for pain relief,
00:15is reviewing other possible targets as it tries to expand its global footprint.
00:20Catalyst, by the way, develops treatments for rare diseases.
00:23Meantime, India's Sun Pharmaceutical has moved into the ranks of the world's top 25 drug makers,
00:29I should say, now that it's buying women's health care company Organon in a deal worth almost $12 billion.
00:35New York-listed Organon was spun off from Merck back in 2021,
00:38and it's got a portfolio that includes breast cancer, contraception, osteoporosis, and menopause.
00:45And finally, Eli Lilly shelling out up to $2.3 billion in cash to buy Ajax Therapeutics
00:51to further build out its oncology pipeline.
00:54Lilly has been using the cash generated by its obesity drugs to invest in other areas,
00:58like cancer and gene therapy.
01:00Last week, Lilly bought blood cancer specialist Colonia Therapeutics for as much as $7 billion.
