00:00it's time for me to put love into the evening on today's show met the boys wing
00:07thank you for coming to my night puerile presence
00:15if i was to give jason a gift it'd be a personality transplant holistic healing
00:20i'm a reiki master i'm not interested i don't believe in it it didn't go in and rescue reviews
00:27the mutton it's a little bit chewy i know my meat and i know when it's tender
00:31smell the moolah as five bold bradfordians battle to bank the big bucks i think akili's crystals might
00:38not be working
00:44it's the fourth day in bradford which has been named the 20th most spiritual city in the uk
00:50and trying to push it all the way up to 19th tonight is reiki master and holistic therapist
00:55akili tonight's theme is a fusion of both caribbean and indian pakistani flavors and that is very much
01:07what bradford is kind of about it's a melting pot of different cultures monday saw bank order to
01:13cully try and grab the ground with an east meets west fusion feast
01:17right here's guys you know my night was great um i kept the guests entertained the food was great
01:23they loved the desserts yes and you even bewitched them with a bit of magic right down in the bottom
01:29corner one folded power oh no no one
01:46they were brilliant they were really good i'm confident that my night
01:50is is the best night so far i'm very confident but his menu didn't jive with sales director tom
01:58and i just couldn't understand what the yorkshire pudding was doing there and for jason there was
02:03a distinct lack of decorum at health and well-being coach gabby's sardinian soiree
02:09last night for me was very taxing um i struggled with the night dabby gave the guests a taste of
02:17her heritage it's uh massive thumbs up man well done the food was amazing and especially that she'd
02:25gone to all that effort and there was even a lesson in the lingo can you roll your ass that's
02:30what i like oh this menu this menu
02:38i think my night compared to cully and jason so far i think it's i think it's just i think

02:45tipped it a little bit i hope it has it certainly has you're out in front with 32 followed by

02:5231 and jason on 27 the dress code exotic elegance very very akila very akila i'm expecting akili's
03:04evening to be a little bit mysterious i believe that my menu is the winning menu because my
03:10food is infused with a secret ingredient love oh how lovely and the first course to get some love
03:18into is dessert sensual soursop and mango cheesecake with homemade coconut and pistachio ice cream
03:26i think this cheesecake will be better than jason's cheesecake purely because she's focusing on that
03:32one element of her dessert and she'll execute it properly rather than having you know a whole cake
03:37shop going on with the pistachio uh element to it i think she's pipped me down i really don't know
03:46what a sensual soursop is um i do have a feeling that i've heard of a soursop well i have
03:52heard of
03:52a soursop but i can't remember and i don't think i've ever had it enlightening i don't think the group
03:58are able to put me in a box you know they're not able to fully define who i am and
04:03that is why i am
04:05an enigma the enigmatic akili gets to work on her ice cream mixing condensed coconut milk double cream
04:14and more coconut milk you want to get most of the cream in because that's what's going to make it
04:19very creamy makes sense vanilla flavoring and desiccated coconut are added smell that it smells
04:25like caribbean success and the secret ingredient to that success so now i'm just going to add a teaspoon
04:31of celtic salt celtic salt this is organic and natural straight from the celtic sea
04:41akili decants the salty celtic coconut ice cream into a tub and it goes into freeze
04:48cheesecake time soursop cheesecake is my own creation i've never heard of it before until i
04:56started doing it and then i just appeared spooky akili starts by taking out her anger on the biscuits
05:06butter oats and biscuit dust are stirred together everything i do i do it with love and the guests
05:12will undoubtedly be able to taste that tonight now for the filling some clumps of cream cheese
05:18followed by condensed milk and a splash of vanilla the sensual sour sop is called sensual because the
05:25sour sop is very good for the reproductive system of both male and female well that may be so but
05:31you wouldn't think it to look at it whoa
05:38the biscuit base gets a blanket of sour sop creaminess spread that out
05:44that means then it chills out in the fridge
05:48on to the main roti with curried mutton rice and seasonal veg
05:55i've had covered mutton mutton before um and it if it's done right it will be absolutely beautiful
06:02it should just be melting and falling apart i'm hoping that she's made the roti herself
06:07rather than store-bought she's certainly giving it a go a flutter of flour a dash of salt and yeast
06:18and a splodge of ghee it has to be very moist flaky it's like it's got layers to it a
06:29splash of
06:30curried water and akili gives the dough a beating
06:35yeah i think i'm done she slaps them into solitary servings
06:39ah i'm chuffed with that and they're ready to be rolled this evening
06:45akili has been marinating her meat and it's now ready to have the heat
06:50so there's a lot of spice flavor savory stuff going on but there's also my essence which i have
06:57implemented with my hands essence implemented in goes some onions herbs and seasoning
07:05the best colored mutton that you can get in the caribbean is at somebody's funeral or nine night
07:12but there will be no funerals tonight i promise you that well touch wood
07:18that's reassuring a few spuds go in for a soak secret ingredient yum ketchup
07:27the curry is left to simmer and akili will cook rice and veg later this evening
07:33on to the starter jimay karnameze salt fish frikora smashed fried plantain
07:38okra fries and a mango scotch bonnet dip uh smashed fried plantain never had that before not sure what it
07:47is i think fish eat it when they're swimming around and they open their mouths wide plant it not plankton
07:53i do think that with the starter akili's gone for yes it's a meze but i think there's more items
07:59and elements on this starter that she's actually going to have to cook than gabby did
08:04we get that lovely fishy aroma is it lovely though gorgeous i'll take your word for it first the salt
08:13fish is rehydrated akili breaks the fish up then slings in some bell pepper and gram flour
08:21now i mix this perfectly i'm gonna cover it and put it in the fridge to chill
08:25it's into the fridge and will be deep fried this evening
08:32finally akili preps her okra and plantain which will be cooked later tonight
08:37so now it's time for me to put love into the evening
08:45love it perfect just time for a quick change while your guests ponder the night ahead
08:52it potentially could be a winning menu yeah for me it would be something that i would choose if i

08:58in like a caribbean restaurant um i love all of those things i'm expecting something really flamboyant and

11:09thousand pound prize we need to um comment on akili's dress i know she looks stunning thank you
11:15absolutely loving the hot pink oh thank you met the boy's wing in the kitchen akili attacks her starter
11:26pummeling her plantain what is that color it shouldn't look like that in my gel despite its less
11:31than impressive color the plantain gets potted the okra fries and then the procura have a fizz
11:38these are looking really good they're looking nice and golden brown just how i like them what's the
11:43verdict perfect that looks a bit hot good though i'm gonna take that as a yes the fried food is
11:56arranged
11:56on the plate and it's good to go jamaicana meze salt fish for cora and smashed fried plantain with
12:04aqua fries and a mango scotch bonnet dip thank you you're welcome digging hey hey just before you
12:16do tuck in yeah i know it's not tom's night but i have got tom a little bit of gift
12:22before we start
12:23if nobody's got any objections no no you've got tom in it that's for you
12:39so what did i think to jason's gift um i don't know pretty much what i think to jason ouch

12:50but i don't think he found it funny i think because the other people around the table were laughing i
12:55think he was like a sheep he was following the flock double ouch if i was to give jason uh
13:01a gift it'd be a personality transplant oh it's a hat trick
13:12i love the salt fish fracoras yeah yeah yeah never heard that before yeah yeah is that something you've
13:20made up yeah is it i loved the salt fish really loved that the okra was it was okay but
13:31it could
13:31have it is going to be deep deep fried it should have been crispier and a bit more punchy i'm
13:36really
13:36enjoying the um the fish balls as you put it i'm not keen on this unripen um bit of the
13:47dish i liked the
13:48um fish the salt fish pakora uh that was really nice but that was it there was nothing else there
13:55for me oh hell maybe akili can offer you some enlightenment instead so i'm a holistic therapist
14:01oh amazing i'm a reiki master please excuse my naivety but what's reiki so reiki is a japanese form of
14:10um energy healing if you think of a circuit board if there's a a blockage or an opening it's not
14:16the
14:16light's not going to come on the circuit is incomplete if there's a blockage i asked for
14:20an explanation of what reiki is and i'm still none the wiser i don't believe in it it didn't go
14:25in
14:26what kind of people would come to you then because circuit boards if there's a blockage in a body for
14:31me is you're going under you're going under the scalp and we're going to remove it of course if you've
14:35got a very serious health condition you can't expect something like reiki to you know heal that
14:42ailment right i got the feeling that jason was playing a little bit of a game and i felt like
14:47he was trying to create a little bit of tension tonight i can feel you a bit of a skeptic

14:52maybe one day i'll be able to not convert you but make you feel a little bit more comfortable that
14:56it's not all like whoa whoa jason could use an awful lot of holistic healing i think he could really
15:02do with spending the day in the spa and really just having a little chat with himself about how he
15:08maybe comes across to others how's akili feeling after that grilling from non-believer jason i'm
15:14actually feeling a lot more confident now because i'm not gonna lie i was like a bag of nerves three
15:18sheets between the window up here down everywhere but now we're gonna be smooth sailing and i am on
15:24the ball on to the main first up the rooty gets a good rolling the door feels so light now
15:31really airy
15:32we'll use the roti gods beyond my side it meets the heat and akili seems encouraged when the bubbles
15:40start to come up that is really good sign you've got a really flaky roti and it's going to be
15:45very
15:45moist and bang on she lovingly ladles out her curry it's me with a bit of sauce boom i think
15:54i've done a
15:54good job you know swear down let's get the party going tonight right on here's the main roti with
16:02curry mutton rice and veg oh amazing thank you tuck in guys enjoy
16:19for me some of the mutton it's a little bit chewy i've cooked it for four hours straight i'm telling
16:25you i know my meat and i know when it's tender watch out jason i'm guessing i've been lucky because
16:30mine's all tender all the way through yeah every single piece so that's lovely i was married to
16:37an afghani actually and his mum taught me so much about you know afghani and asian food and
16:45beautiful and really i put hold that close to my heart when you see the travel bloggers actually
16:51used and and a lot of them when they go around afghanistan they say it's one of the most hospitable
16:55countries in the world tom is there anywhere where you've not been i can tell you i've not been to
17:00afghanistan that was definitely a travel blog yeah of course i've not been to afghanistan as i said at
17:05the table don't typically tend to travel to war zones tom was tom started to talk about his travels
17:11but i quickly turned around and clipped his wings which thankfully silenced him for the most of the
17:16night but like throughout my life my intuition has really kind of kept me on track i consider like all
17:22of us spiritual people are all spiritual beings whether we want to acknowledge that or not do you
17:28believe in ghosts i do believe there are other energies i've seen a ghost but nobody believes me
17:34it was about four o'clock in the morning so i've got out of bed gone to the ensuite open
17:41the door
17:42and it's no good to be it were you scared yeah i was because i saw somebody walk into that
17:48bathroom
17:48that really made me think actually i do believe in ghosts are you just making up the story just for
17:54a
17:54chat around the table no jason is showing a different side to him today which we haven't seen
18:02all week i'm not a fan of this jason i think cully started to tell us about this presence um
18:09just to
18:10make general chit chat and conversation around the table um to try and impress akila but actually i don't
18:17think it impressed anybody jason is giving me his like school bully energy and i'm not kind of digging
18:24it time to find some more positive energy at the table these are my crystal and resin pyramids that
18:30a dear friend made for me this middle one is really good for like calming the energy bringing in intuition
18:36and a bit of love so it's got i think akila's crystals might not be working yeah it looks good
18:45yeah really
18:45nice i don't think the crystals did much work today for calming energy just like being nice like
18:52tables and a piece you know just to amplify all our beautiful energies together and you know yeah
18:59some nice healing crystals yeah i think those crystals might be due a service the main went really well
19:05overall everybody enjoyed it i had a few like criticisms but i understand however i would like to say
19:11that i think jason is jealous of me maybe some cheesecake will sweeten him up i don't want to
19:17make that big one now pudd is plonked sauce squirted time for the final round it's going to be the
19:24knockout
19:27and it's good to go sensual soursop and mango cheesecake with homemade coconut and pistachio ice cream

19:46it tastes really nice oh i'm glad you like it the ice cream was uh lovely i i could taste
19:54the pistachio
19:55i could taste the coconut but mine was definitely better i thought the dessert was awful and i hate to
20:06say it but it really wasn't good i don't think there was enough biscuit on the base it's not hit
20:12home for
20:12me at all jason said it was a bit too sour a bit too tart but i think he was
20:16talking about himself
20:17and so when i was 12 i won a rap poetry like a spoken word competition here in bradford it
20:23was
20:24and i got to perform on stage with benjamin zephaniah at st george's hall and performed like my own
20:30poem and he put my poem in his book which got published you know so yeah yeah well not only
20:36am
20:36i a poet but i wrote a song as well excuse me it's totally acapella sorry if i make you
20:41cringe and your
20:42toes kill thank you for coming to my night yeah and it's been right yeah for you all to see

21:05yeah you nailed that and on that note scores please so tonight i've had a really fun evening
21:13getting to know keely a lot more and finding out a lot more about her passions hobbies and talents
21:16the food wasn't quite there on some occasions but overall i would say that it's definitely worth
21:23a seven the dessert was really lacking in flavors and the hosting could have done with a little bit
21:30more so for me i'm scoring akili a five so tonight uh we saw much more of akila the true
21:37akila but her
21:39food just was not up to scratch so i'm giving her a five the vibe today wasn't as fun as
21:47the other three
21:47nights and for that i'm giving akili a six all of which unfortunately gives akili a total of 23
21:56leaving her out for the count in last place next time hopefully this will be the only beef around the
22:05table tonight tantalizing techniques and it's all in the wrist action dumbfounded diners i don't know
22:12what the word would be but even now it's like raking me and harassed hosts it was completely unjustified
22:19and he knows it's unjustified
