NEIGHBORS CREATE CEILING AND FLOOR CODE TO SAY I LOVE YOU
WITH VID
BY LAKSHYARTHA SHARMA
Watch this clip where a simple act of kindness between neighbors turns into a touching daily ritual of connection and care.
Erin Jackson from Brooklyn, NY, USA recorded the moment when she and her 78-year-old upstairs neighbour came up with a unique way to communicate through their apartment—by tapping on the ceiling and stomping on the floor to say “I love you.”
She quoted in her own words: “My 78-year-old neighbor said that she was lonely, so we created a new system where I hit my ceiling 3 times to say ‘I love you’ and she stomps on the floor 3 times to say ‘I love you’ back!”
A user commented: “Just for someone to know you’re thinking of them is so so valuable in their life. This is adorable and precious and is probably saving her life all the time. I know it would probably save mine.”
