00:05import Russian oil. Energy Undersecretary Alessandro Sales said Monday, April 27,
00:11the waiver is effective from April 17 to May 16. The U.S. previously granted a 30-day waiver in
00:17March, which expired on April 11. The Philippine embassy in the U.S. has since been negotiating
00:21to extend this. The U.S. initially imposed sanctions against the purchase of Russian
00:26oil to deprive Moscow of revenue for its war on Ukraine. The one-month waiver applies to all
00:31countries. Through the original waiver, Petron Corporation purchased around 2.4 million barrels
00:37of crude oil from Russia. The DOE said Friday, April 24, the country's fuel inventory can now
00:42last up to 54 days, longer than the previous week's 52.02 days.
