Global military spending continues to climb, with 2025 marking the 11th consecutive year of increased defense budgets, according to a new report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. This includes a significant rise from countries in Asia and Oceania, where governments boosted military spending by more than 8%.

00:20second biggest spender, whose expenditures jumped by 7.4 percent from the year before.
00:25Countries that have tensions with China, like Japan and Taiwan, also had substantial increases.
00:31Tokyo lifted its spending by 9.7 percent last year, while Taipei's went up by 14 percent.
