00:00A court has charged the suspect in the shooting incident at the White House Correspondents' Dinner
00:05with the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump on Monday.
00:09The 31-year-old Cole Allen did not enter a plea at the hearing
00:13and faces a sentence of up to life in prison if convicted of trying to kill the president.
00:19Authorities revealed earlier that Allen had written a manifesto prior to his attack
00:23where he detailed his hatred for the Trump administration.
00:26The so-called manifesto is a stunning thing to read.

01:22Instead, the night was hijacked by a crazed anti-Trump individual who traveled across the country
01:28to assassinate the president and as many administration officials as possible.
01:34Authorities say the suspect was tackled before inflicting any serious harm on the attendants.
01:40Only one person, an officer wearing a bulletproof vest, was shot and not badly injured.
01:46Allen is believed to have traveled from California to Chicago and then to Washington
01:50and checked himself as a guest at the Hilton Hotel where the gala dinner was being held.
01:56Authorities say in several messages he referred to himself as, quote,
02:00the friendly federal assassin and made multiple references to Trump without naming him.
