Lainey Wilson joins Kelli and Anthony from K-FROG, backstage at Stagecoach Music Festival.
Transcript
00:00Backstage at Stagecoach with headliner Lainey Wilson. What a whirlwind last night.
00:05Oh my gosh.
00:06Can you tell us about what we're calling evacuation coach? What was going on with you?
00:11Oh my goodness. We were back there just on pins and needles thinking like is this actually going to happen
00:15or not?
00:16And I knew that they were sending everybody out and people had walked two miles and then people walked two
00:21miles back just to be, it's crazy.
00:23The stuff that like people went through to actually show back up a second time.
00:27Because they had told us, you know, everything's flashing on the screens, evacuate now.
00:31We were in here hunkering down, waiting and waiting.
00:34And we're thinking, okay, it's been so long.
00:35They're just going to cancel the rest of the night.
00:37We're not going to see Bradley. We're not going to see Lainey.
00:39So are they telling you, hey, stay inside?
00:42Are they telling you like, hey, the show's going to go on?
00:45Did you hear anything?
00:46There was a lot of talking about it, like back and forth between like my direct team and the Stagecoach
00:51team.
00:51It was just, they were all doing a great job at trying to figure out like what was best, you
00:57know, for everybody.
00:58To keep everybody safe.
00:59It was, I've never seen anything like it.
01:00I was going to ask, like the winds, that was ridiculous.
01:03Oh my gosh, but we got up there.
01:05I hate that Riley, you know, didn't get to do his set.
01:09But he got to get up and do one song, you know, with us.
01:12Love that.
01:12And I loved how great you looked on stage.
01:15Saw you a couple times holding on to your hat and I was like, she's going to lose that thing.
01:18Girl.
01:19A hundred percent, but do you have like a trick to keep your hat on?
01:22Well, so the wind was blowing this way, so I would just turn my head on and just hope that
01:26the wind was like hitting.
01:27Because every time I would do this, the wind would catch it and almost pull it off.
01:31Lean into it.
01:32You figure it out.
01:33How are we doing with the wedding stuff?
01:35Oh my gosh, I got so much to do.
01:37Yeah?
01:37Yeah.
01:38Did you find the dress yet?
01:39I haven't even found the dress.
01:41Have you gone shopping at all?
01:43No.
01:44Oh, girl.
01:45I know, I know, I know.
01:46We'll get there.
01:47Do you have a style though?
01:48Do you think you're going to go more classic or are you going to make it like a stage?
01:52I don't know.
01:53And I'm scared to go into it with too many expectations because like, for instance, when my sister went dress
01:58shopping, she ended up choosing the exact opposite of what she thought she was going to like.
02:03Yeah.
02:03And then you get in some and you're like, I look like a cupcake.
02:05Yeah.
02:05Like this isn't going to work.
02:07Yeah.
02:07No one wants to look like a cupcake.
02:08No, no, no.
02:09I'm not trying to look like a cupcake.
02:10How is Duck doing?
02:11He's good.
02:12Yeah.
02:12He's been running around all weekend here at Stagecoach.
02:15Oh, he's here.
02:16Yes.
02:17I'm like trying to go bed early and he's like, I'll see you later.
02:19Oh, he wants to party.
02:21He was with his buddies having a great time.
02:23I said, you do your thing.
02:24He said, night, night.
02:25Night, night.
02:26Night, night.
02:27We were kind of hoping, we always go into Stagecoach and we make these huge predictions and we're like, dude,
02:31Lainey's going to bring out Miley.
02:33Was that ever a possibility?
02:36We had talked about it, but the truth is, I think that she had something else going on this weekend.
02:41And, but who knows what will happen?
02:42I mean, she's, she's been so good to me.
02:45I mean, she's, yeah, she's the real deal.
02:48I mean, like what you see is what you get with her.
02:51I feel like she's, well, she's just a rock star, but she's just a down to earth chick.
02:58Well, the two of you guys really seem to mesh.
03:01Yeah.
03:01Like on paper, I'm like, oh yeah, you see them, but together, I'm like, you guys sound great.
03:05So we were like, oh, this is the moment.
03:06Oh, I'll take it.
03:07I'll take it.
03:08All weekend long, I've been advocating for men getting spray tans because we're out here at Stagecoach.
03:12We have to look nice and bronze.
03:14That's right.
03:14And look the part.
03:16Does, let me ask you first, does Duck get spray tans?
03:18No, but I've tried to get him to get one.
03:20So you're all for it.
03:21There are certain parts of his body that ain't ever seen a son.
03:24And I'm like, before this wedding, I'm going to have to put something in your drink and spray you down.
03:33Sorry.
03:35Don't apologize.
03:35Do what you got to do.
03:36The line of the weekend.
03:37Yeah.
03:38Spray you down.
03:40Lainey, thank you for taking the time to come by today.
03:42I appreciate you.
03:43See y'all.
03:44That was so cool.
03:44That was so cool.
03:44That was so cool.
03:44That was so cool.
