00:30just feel like we were celebrating the genre and i just wanted to like remind people how cool it is
00:36that we get to do this for a living and i don't know i just um i think we all get spoiled rotten
00:43about the opportunities that we get and it felt like there was excitement in the air there was how
00:50i'm curious like how much of things in the show were like things that you wanted to do like how
00:55much of yourself did you get to infuse in this that were like your decision your call i got to um a lot
01:01of it was like my ideas of like getting leanne morgan up there and and things like that of course we had
01:07like script writers but i got to go in and put my whole touch on the entire thing because i just
01:13wanted to make sure i'm like if i'm getting up here and saying these things um first of all i need to
01:18mean what i say and it needs to like really feel like it's coming from my heart so it was great it
01:24was a collaborative effort and i really enjoyed it i mean i had to do a lot of like prep work
01:31not just like for the script but also just making sure that i was like getting in the zone like a week
01:35prior just trying to like make sure that i was exactly where my feet were because it i could tell
01:41that it was going to be very easy to just get completely overwhelmed and then the moment passed me by
01:46and then i'm like what even just happened totally it's funny you mentioned leanne i got to spend
01:50some time with her on the red carpet and she was just laney gushing about you and y'all's friendship
01:55oh my gosh i love her she is so sweet and she truly just like was so excited to talk about you and
02:04just saying that you guys have formed this talk about like the time that you've got to spend with
02:07leanne a little bit oh my gosh it's never enough so we did get to do family feud together we got to do
02:15celebrity family feud and her and her family whooped my family's butt which i'm still mad about
02:19and so um i think there'll always be this rivalry maybe we'll go back and get a rematch but um i love
02:27her i love she is just completely herself i feel like i've just known her from a different life i think
02:33she makes everybody feel that way she's just she's just good people just very familiar i totally
02:39yeah and then i also want to tell you congratulations on your grammy nominations
02:42were you the most excited about this wild i was not expecting it at all this year to be honest with
02:49you but it feels good i'm so proud of somewhere over laredo and i was hoping that this song would
02:57get its flowers because i just feel like uh i mean my daddy told me he was like it don't get no
03:01better than somewhere over laredo like you can write whatever and he that's his favorite song
03:06and so i'm so proud of it and i'm glad to see that there are people in the industry who
03:12you know think it needs its flowers too yeah absolutely and it's so exciting to see the song
03:18doing so well climbing up the charts right now talk about what you specifically love about this song
03:24oh my gosh um it feels emotional but it also it's uh i don't know it's it's one of those songs that i feel
03:34like like takes you back but also like puts you in a in a different headspace um you get to feel a lot
03:41of the feelings it's it's clearly an interpolation of you know somewhere over the rainbow and i remember
03:48where i was when i heard that song i remember how it made me feel and i think a lot of people probably
03:52do and so when we were writing this song i wanted to make sure that we got a lot of those same emotions
03:58feelings and feelings and the song and um yeah there's this song i feel like will always be one
04:05of my favorites absolutely and then this will be number one number nine which has got to feel crazy
04:10to say that out loud that feels pretty crazy i didn't know that until you just said it really
04:15yeah that's wow number nine girl you're approaching them double digits very very quickly let's go have
04:22you started on working i know it's like literally like the deluxe just came out but like working on new
04:26stuff like do you think we'll get another single from this album or have you already started on next
04:30project honestly before the deluxe was even out i was already working on the next project that's kind
04:36of how i do it i'm just i want to make sure because this job comes with a lot of different parts of it
04:43i want to make sure that i'm always keeping the writing the songwriting at the forefront so no matter
04:48what um i put co-writes in there and try to just have time where i just like brainstorm and think of
04:55ideas and think about you know what direction do i want to go next what have i not said um what part
05:02of me am i am i discovering that um i feel comfortable sharing with other people um a lot
05:08of soul searching and so i feel like i'm constantly soul searching um and digging things up and and so
05:17it's important for me to be writing while i'm doing that soul searching absolutely if like the last era
05:23of laney is whirlwind does this next chapter like do you feel like there's like a theme to what
05:28comes next or is it kind of presented itself yet i think and i probably just need to keep putting pen
05:34to paper and what normally happens is i always just kind of stumble upon the thing it always seems like
05:41there's it's just like a certain time of my life and like the things that i'm learning the things that
05:47i'm trying to um get better at things i'm trying to hold on to all of those things and i can normally
05:53kind of weave in a um you know a main theme mm-hmm you had such a big 2025 like so many amazing things
06:01have happened you recently wrapped the whirlwind world tour what are you looking forward to and
06:06hopefully i'm hoping for you like a moment of downtime is coming i'm gonna get some some holiday
06:11break some uh time with my family and we're going back over to australia in february but i really do
06:19think like these next couple months i'm just gonna be focused on being creative you know if i'm gonna
06:24get a little bit of time at my house i just want to shut it down and uh i think it's important to get
06:30bored every now and then because i think sometimes like it's you got to get bored to figure out okay um
06:39what's next you know what have you seen the trend on tiktok where kids are like doing like
06:4415 minutes of boredom like no phone no food no nothing they're just like sitting and i'm like
06:49welcome to my childhood oh my gosh and that's why we had to think outside the box we had to come up
06:55with with crazy ideas and um yeah it's important to get bored i'm glad the kids are learning how to
07:01get bored i know it is really important what do you have planned for the holidays like are there any
07:05wilson family traditions that you're looking forward to i'm gonna go home and hang out with
07:10my my little nephews knox ledger and chapel and you know they humble me they do they don't think i'm
07:17cool at all and uh but that's i just want to spend time with family i just want to make memories i want
07:24us to um just you know knock around basking maybe go visit some neighbors go see my granny uh my
07:32granny got to be at the cma awards this year which was cool got to spend a little bit of time with
07:36her so yeah just making sure that i that i hug my people's neck it's so funny you say that about
07:42your nephews i'm home my brother has three-year-old twin boys and like last night they started getting
07:46at you i was like all right i'm leaving and one of them looks at me and goes do it stop i was like
07:51wow i'm so do it i can't do it leave do it you're like okay i will yeah see you later and then coming
07:58up in 2026 oh my god i feel so weird to say but you're gonna be headlining stagecoach which is
08:02going to be so much fun are you looking forward to that wow i feel like it wasn't long ago i was
08:07playing the the stage out in the middle at two o'clock there was no cover on it our computers got
08:12way too hot overheated um it's cool i always said like i know that i'm starting to make it whenever
08:18all of my um festival sets are at night time when it's we need to play in the dark you've made it
08:24when i get to play in the dark it's so funny and then your big first movie premiere is coming up
08:29in february with reminders of him do you have any more like acting things on the table right now that
08:36you're thinking about or is there even like time we're getting i mean we're getting pitched things
08:40here and there and um i know i've told you this before but i just want to make sure that i'm like
08:46if i've got the time to do it and it's like another creative outlet for me then great but no matter
08:52what like music is my number one and i just have to make dang sure of that because it's important
08:58for me to remember that the reason i have all these other opportunities in general is because of
09:03my music and because of the writing so and i feel like i'm not me if i'm not doing the other stuff
09:08so if it works with the schedule if it like if it feels good sign me up also another sign of
09:16success is when you have to start saying no to things that you really want to do just because
09:20you literally don't have the time or the bandwidth to do it that's it and the truth is like i want to
09:25show up 190 even if it comes to like like doing a song with somebody a collab i just want to be able
09:33to sink my teeth into it and if i can't if i can't do it justice if i can't show up when i want to
09:39to do it then i just like i can't do it right now i just like it's not a no because i wish i could
09:46just do it all but i can't i know it's not right now i was talking to luke combs about this because
09:50he was saying with his next record i was like are there any collabs he's like i actually reached out
09:53to a bunch of people and like a whole bunch of people told me no because everybody's got so much
09:57stuff going on i was like yep that's crazy yeah because i know you guys are turning them down left
10:02and right so i can only imagine um then in your cma speech you mentioned that you and duck are tying
10:08the knot next year you have there been steps made forward for wedding planning um i sat down this
10:15past weekend and we started kind of trying to brainstorm so we'll see i mean we got to get on
10:22it but i told him i was like you got to come home from the woods long enough for us to plan this thing
10:26i know of course you would like get done with cmas and be like i'm time i have time and now duck
10:31is in the duck blind somewhere i know the house is quiet i'm like are you gonna go hunting at all
10:36with him this season i'm sure i will he loves it so much and i get it like when he he's taking me
10:42out there a few times i'm like okay i get it i understand there's something about just being out
10:47there with nature you feel close to god it just feels good so get a little bit bored out there
10:52also which is good yeah my trick is like you just shoot the same time as everybody that way like
10:58you're just i got that one that one was mine right there that was mine i figured it out nobody knows
11:04right and everybody's of course everyone wants to give the girl one like i said oh yeah that was
11:08mine amazing and then before we wrap up i wanted to ask you so i'm presenting on the opry for the
11:13first time next week and obviously as you've played this many times what are things i need to like look
11:18out for like fun history that i should know about like anything going into the circle the first time
11:23that i need oh my gosh first of all that's huge congratulations thank you i'm so excited you
11:29should be excited you deserve all the good things that are just coming your way you've worked hard
11:33thank you sweetie you have you busted your butt try to be present i know it's exciting and i know you
11:39got to be thinking about like everything else that you're supposed to be doing that night
11:41but when your feet are in that circle i just really want you to think about
11:45everybody and their mama who has stood there and like the stories that that circle could tell
11:52it's really crazy i have goosebumps just thinking about it yeah it's it's a sacred spot it is for
11:59sure well listen it is so great to see your face you truly did so great last week i hope that you
12:03are getting some rest like you i don't know how you do it like hardy and i were just talking about you
12:08not that long ago saying how like everybody else hits this point of burnout he's like the only person
12:12i know that hasn't done it is laney he's like and i don't know how she's doing it hey i have hit
12:15burnout but nobody would know you are good at hiding it girlfriend listen so good to see you
