00:06Hello my dear students in this lecture I'll give you a brief introduction of what exactly
00:12you're going to learn in the entire series of lectures so to begin with first you'll be learning
00:17how to calculate the excavation quantity how you are going to calculate the pcc quantity how you're
00:23going to calculate the sand filling quantity how you're going to calculate the concrete quantity
00:29for the footing and also the backfilling quantity you're going to learn in the very first section
00:34so for all these things you should be understanding how to understand the structural drawings and also
00:40how to use them in the with the help of excel sheet so all the excel sheets that is required
00:46for this
00:46entire series of lectures I've uploaded in a very same video you can try to download all the excel
00:53file and the other supporting documents and after that I've given an assignment where I've thought
00:59all all these things and then you can try to take up that assignment and you can try to solve
01:03it on
01:04your own and after that the next section I've taken a g plus 2 building of a hostel building and
01:10in that
01:10what we have done is we have tried to take up that as a live project and the same calculation
01:15like we
01:15did here like the excavation quantity like the pcc quantity the footing the column quantity the slab
01:22quantity the plinth beam shuttering everything is covered up here right from concreting right to
01:27the shuttering how much materials is required everything we have calculated that after that
01:32also along with that we have done the estimation we have done the costing for that that means suppose
01:37if I want to do one cubic meter of the concreting how much cost is involved here so if how
01:41much cost
01:41is involved how much cement is required how much sand is required how much coarse aggregate is required
01:47how much water is required all these things we have tried to do next to that excel sheet
01:52so this covers everything about the estimation part now coming to the bar bending schedule so
01:57in the bar bending schedule we have taken up the footing bar bending schedule we have taken up the
02:01column bar bending schedule we have taken up the beam bar bending schedule and we have taken up the slab
02:06bar bending schedule for this the supporting documents are already uploaded here and for each of
02:11the for the very same g plus 2 building I tried to explain you how the bar bending schedule has
02:15to be done
02:16and once the bar bending is done the next is about the understanding of boq which stand for bill of
02:22quantities and also about the rate analysis right the rate analysis will try to let us say you're doing
02:27a project and the contractor has given you the charge of a pcc is going to be like let us
02:32say
02:32six thousand rupees indian rupees right so how that six thousand rupees is coming what is the contracts
02:39contractors profit to that what is the overhead to that what is the shuttering cost what is the uh you
02:44know
02:44lead and lift for that everything we'll try to understand in the rate analysis and once the rate
02:49analysis then I've added a certain portion where you're going to do the thumb rules so thumb rules
02:55in the sense let us say you're working at a site or let us say you're an engineer if somebody
02:59comes
02:59and ask you I want to construct a house of so and so square feet let us say 1500 square
03:04feet can just
03:05tell me what would be the cost that is involved there so in that case I cannot ask him for
03:09the drawing
03:09and do all the uh calculation so we'll have certain thumb rule if this is the size of my building
03:14then
03:14this much is the cost which will go for that right so all those things for the slab how it
03:19has to be
03:20done and for the beam how it has to be done right all those things we have tried to take
03:24up in that
03:26the the topic what I added there for the thumb rules along with that I've taken certain miscellaneous
03:30topics like the estimation of the underground tank and also the flagpole foundation how it has to be done
03:36so each and everything has been explained in a better way uh with or with my experience I've tried
03:41to teach you each and everything in a very better way right yeah and even the excel sheets have been
03:46added there even I have uh explained you a few things how to you know add up all those things
03:51in
03:51excel sheets right so just in case if you have doubts or if you are not able to understand few
03:56things
03:56you can always message me there there is a messaging option and I'll be always there to answer your
04:01queries uh even even you can drop me a mail there as well just type in the messaging box you
04:06can drop
04:06I'll give my mail id you can drop it to me just in case if you have an again doubts
04:11regarding that
04:11then I'm ready to take even the online classes on zoom or maybe other platform so that we can have
04:16a
04:17interaction and we can get a doubt solved if it is not happening through a messaging option right
04:23yeah so these are the excel sheets what you can see here so let me try to show it all
04:28these things
04:28I've uploaded you can try to go through that it it involves everything the concrete quantity everything
04:34I've tried to explain here similarly we have it for the bar bending schedule as well so this is how
04:39a
04:39bar bending schedule excel sheet looks and just in case if you're not able to understand the bar
04:45bending schedule like how these shapes have been done you can always message me uh I'll be explaining
04:50you how these things has to be inserted in the excel sheets right because if I explain that in
04:54in the course that's going to take a very long time that is the reason I have not explained
04:59all the things the basic understanding is given by me right and just in case in the middle of a
05:04lecture
05:05if you feel my lectures are you know a bit fast and all uh just in case if you're not
05:09able to understand
05:10them then there's option here once you start to play the video you can see option here one right
05:15so that means it's a normal speed and just in case if you want to speed up you can go
05:19for 1.25
05:201.5 1.75 and 1.2 just in case if you want to slow down and if you feel
05:26like whatever I'm speaking is
05:27you know you're not able to cope up with that you can always try to reduce the speed from 1
05:33to 0.75
05:34and 0.5 right you can try to do that so that's what I wanted to inform in this very
05:40first lecture
05:41all the resources have been added and I wish you a great journey from here so that by the end
05:47of this
05:47course you will be you will be in a position to do a quantity estimation of any of the building
05:51that is given to you so we'll see you back in the course uh I wish you a
05:59good journey from here thank you
