01:02all right guys here we are Capitol Heights Maryland right outside of Washington DC
01:06gonna meet a really really cool guy named Howard his daughter Carmen called us and this is an old
01:15school hoard man it is really really messy actually who's got the video this is my family home my father
01:25Howard picked up hoarding when his father passed away collecting things that he found value in some
01:32of my hot wheel cars are here it's hard to throw stuff away you know I see the value in
01:38stuff I mean
01:39there are piles four or five feet high guys we got our work cut out for us yes we do
01:44right now you can't
01:46even walk to the front door let alone get into the kitchen thank you it's really a overbearing for
01:52me I can't handle it sometimes in this and I stay the hotel he's a veteran he's very open about
01:59his
01:59situation he's had a rough couple years he needs some help I mean he cannot live in this house right
02:04yeah but he's also got some really good high-end items I've been happy in the world I've been in
02:11the
02:11Air Force I have currency from a lot of countries I've been to Bobbleheads there's more Bobbleheads
02:16over here Michael Jordan jersey I like sports memorabilia basketball baseball a little golf that
02:22Tiger Woods set it's in this room somewhere if you threw out any two names in sports memorabilia
02:28collecting Jordan is number one and Tiger isn't far behind where I live DC is like good for collecting
02:36rare valuables he lived here in the district and so he's collected a lot of different political
02:41stuff if you have political items anywhere in the country it's one thing but if you have political
02:46items in DC it's something totally different the great thing about the DC area is that there are more
02:53political memorabilia collectors with deeper pockets than anywhere else in the country the
02:58basement it has like this mold on the ceilings and on the walls one of the washers in the kitchen
03:04and
03:04then upstairs damage the house a little bit to have water damage in the house a lot of things got
03:09destroyed
03:09I'm a little concerned about just the quality of the house just on the safe side if you're in the
03:14basement wear a mask 100 the conditions are just unbearable so we we need some help yeah and we need
03:21it now
03:21wow he's an interesting curious guy he's into politics he's in uh to military he's into sports
03:27like we're gonna find some cool stuff only one way to find out main three items we're looking for
03:34sports memorabilia we got a lot of coins I think we got vintage money from around the world and then
03:39it's got a lot of political stuff that he's just saved throughout the years living here in the district
03:43this is a veteran that's out of his house now and we need to help him get his house back

04:32to go into your house you have to walk all the way around to the backyard to get into your

04:36to walk in the house is is for me it's normal but it's not normal you can't I can't even

04:43front door he has been hoarded out of his own home you can't even get in the front door this

04:50extreme level of hoarding and I want to caution everyone that means this man is brilliant that's what
04:58this means I'm guessing this is your place right here I'm feeling at home in here the basement it's
05:11so big and it's so dangerous it's a wash we'll probably take 10,000 pounds of trash out of the
05:17basement change everywhere there's room here all right Carmen what do you remember it being like
05:25you know watching TV bringing my friends over so y'all did you it was a living room it was

05:31all right let's go on upstairs all right you used every space every inch yes sir I see all these
05:37bags
05:37I see all these boxes yeah we got to clear it out but I also see a lot of black
05:41mold I mean we've got
05:42to get this house cleared out we also have to get it safe this is an extremely challenging
05:47hoard the mold alone could increase our clean-out cost twenty to thirty thousand dollars you can
05:54smell the mold coming out of here if this mold get in your system man that's a whole nother subject
06:04over there that's it's coming down the wall man like this this is dangerous but the beams look pretty
06:11good don't look like it was water damage to the beams man man right now this is a hazard it's
06:19a lot
06:19of mold that has to be treated that's not cheap that's all molded right here hot wheel cars you
06:28know I would say that these are a good fine but this is all molded so these are trash and
06:35now we can do
06:38with these from the start I see some big things that I think we can get out of here pretty
06:43quickly
06:44mattress futon this is stuff you haven't even had a chance to open the hordes are impressive right
06:54they don't get built overnight I mean these are big structural piles supposed to be free to walk and
06:59then you have a path here all right so is that the goal we'll all be free to walk hopefully

07:06how are you feeling right now it's overwhelming you know I mean my family is more important you
07:13know I didn't see you know earlier and then sometimes you have to be told well you think
07:17you can handle it right you think you yes I thought I could handle it now this is not something

07:38dollars silver dollars I was stationed in Germany so I have currency from all the countries there oh
07:43my gosh man that could be incredible the appeal for collectors of rare foreign currency comes down
07:50to a mix of history art politics and investment when countries dissolve such as Yugoslavia or East Germany
07:56their currencies can become highly sought after because they are no longer being circulated and the money
08:01holds historical significance Germany has said our Vita send to their beloved Deutschmark
08:06today as they're officially adopting the euro some foreign currency is only worth face value while others
08:13can sell for exorbitant prices like in 2024 when a rare Czechoslovakian Republic note the
08:19five thousand Kuroon sold at auction for one million dollars well you know that's the stuff I gotta find right
08:28yeah and so we have to go through every single bag cleaning out the property of someone that actually
08:34created the hoard can be a really delicate situation it is imperative that we show respect to Howard and his
08:41collection through the entire clean-out process what room is that back there this used to be my master
08:46bedroom and then I switched rooms we took their room and they took our room okay as we got older
08:51let's check it out this used to be my old room yes that I shared with my aunt and my
08:58sister now it's a
09:00cat's room now her name is princess so this is the biggest room this is a massive bedroom okay I
09:05mean
09:05for me to make money on this I've got to find some cool stuff so I'm open to anything so
09:10the main three
09:11things I'm looking for are sporting goods stuff all right and then I did see some political stuff on
09:17them on the first floor and I see coins and foreign currency from what I'm seeing and hearing obviously
09:22there's a lot of trash in this house but my hunch is telling me that there's some really good valuables
09:27somewhere in this house we just have to stay focused dig in find these valuables and find a way
09:33to offset the increasing cleaning costs let me go find my team and then I'll meet you guys downstairs up

09:44whoo yeah I agree yeah I agree the kitchen trash like everything in the kitchen trash I was in the
09:53basement I didn't see anything of value everything on top it looked like it's just got water damage
09:58and mold all over okay it's a gamble we didn't find any sports memorabilia I mean my eyes are saying
10:05don't but my brain is saying do although the house sure doesn't look like it the little things I'm
10:13finding is telling me that man maybe does have some really nice stuff I'm getting holy grail vibes here
10:19you know like I'm running Indiana Jones with what was the best cup was really the least impressive I
10:25think this house might be full of that so what would you think on overall cost then we're going
10:30to need at least 10 people for this clean our crew five dumpsters on top of that the basement is

10:35in mold I gotta get a mold specialist somebody to come in here and look at this mold first it's

10:41in the walls so we're gonna have to rip them out and put more drywall up just to even make

10:45basement livable again my guess that's gonna add at least another 20 grand so all together that's gonna be
10:5140 grand it's a five or six day clean I honestly think there's 50 to 70 thousand in here we

12:15here's the plan we need to clear a path through the basement up the stairs to the first floor and

13:07nightmare I mean we are earning every single penny in here but dude there's a lot of pennies

13:53go through everything yeah this is incredible Colby Bryant celebrating his fifth NBA title remarkable
14:02Colby Bryant was a basketball legend spending his entire career with the LA Lakers where he won five
14:08NBA championships and was a four-time all-star MVP Kobe for the win yes known for his mamba mentality

14:16transcended basketball to influence fashion hip-hop and film in August of 2025 Kevin O'Leary aka Mr.
14:23Wonderful from Shark Tank purchased a rare one-of-one Kobe and Michael Jordan card for just under 13 million
14:31dollars unbelievable man anywhere from one to ten thousand dollars dude great job from my experience
14:39I didn't think there'd be a whole lot of value in this basement it's pretty much all ruined by mold

14:44am shocked the value of items that we've actually found in this basement while Katelyn and I continue to
14:50attack the basement Mike's gonna clear a path to the front door with two access points on this house we
14:57can clean this entire house out and twice as fast we got a little work here bud all right here

15:10this is about six to ten inches worth of stuff that I'm standing on right now
15:17this is all just trash but you gotta look through everything he literally has money mixed in with the
15:23trash find anything in there Chris check this out Mike this is a silver coin one ounce of fine silver
15:33I still got boxes like this to go through this in my hand right here is worth at least $80

15:40finding boxes of them yeah this is gonna add up really fast see like six more boxes wow you got

15:45scattered all over the floor you know I gotta be honest I had my doubts about this house but these
15:50silver coins are legit and that gives me hope that there's more buried treasure scattered throughout
15:55this house one bag closer to getting this door open you and I always end up in the basement and
16:05then you got to go through every single man Howard created this all on his own he wrapped all these
16:14things up to keep it safe most good items are wrapped in two or three plastic bags because
16:20he's been trying to protect them and they're at the bottom of a big pile problem is man like you

16:25through all this and you find a gold coin you know I don't even know what this is the Elvis
16:32Presley
16:33gold record and it's a gold record I mean this would normally sell for a couple thousand dollars
16:38can't do nothing it's all destroyed might be able to save the record but man that is a bummer we've
16:44been picking all morning I mean we've taken right 2,000 pounds worth of trash out of like 10 feet
16:50of the
16:50basement we've got a significant amount of mold this is an extremely challenging hoard this is all trash
16:58man look at this this is just mold paper and poop I don't even look at this all this poop

17:08I don't even see it oh my gosh type of animal is that I mean we've spent a half a
17:13day cleaning out
17:14this basement with the exception of the Kobe ball we haven't found anything else of substantial value
17:19it's all destroyed by the mold and we can't find anything to sell trash cost me money to throw it

17:25if I increase my trash cost it decreases my ability to sell anything our profit is decreasing and our
17:30expenses are going up I really hope Mike and Chris are having much better luck upstairs oh and there's

17:48the front door this is huge that being said it doesn't really help our profit margins so we need to
17:53find real items of value fast

20:31good about what you're doing and then it's kind of like hiking the Grand Canyon you think you're at
20:36the bottom and then you get over the edge and you look down and you realize you got a whole
20:39nother day to
20:39go we got a whole long way to go on this house I mean all this stuff's ruined
21:04clearing out the basement took an entire day but now that it's cleared out we can focus on the mold
21:08problem and man it is a massive problem the mold's been growing here for at least a decade and it
21:14has
21:15taken over everything I mean it is every nook and creamy is covered this is just a nightmare
21:20I'm glad you're here bro yep hey I got all this mold down here man how we gonna get rid
21:25of this
21:26unfortunately I had to call an expert luckily this is my old stomping grounds I was able to pull in
21:31some favors and keep the cost down to about three grand okay mold here I'm gonna fold this out he's
21:37gonna spray something on the mold called concrobrium which is a non-toxic chemical solution it eliminates the
21:44spread of mold at the base of the spores so it can't live anymore we have them use concrobrium
21:49because it's a lot safer for the house and for us when we're still staying around and cleaning it
21:55you guys can go ahead and start to demo the wall now that the basement's been sprayed we're gonna let
22:00it sit and dry once it's safe for us to go down there we'll have the walls ripped out because
22:04they're
22:04just too far gone and we can't patch them hot wheel hey Mike can you come in for a second

22:17just found this in a box oh I've actually seen one of these before what you have in your hand
22:21is what
22:22they call macerated money when u.s currency is retired the treasury shreds it soaks it and turns it into
22:29pulp to
22:30make sure it can't be reused then artists buy the pulp and create different sculptures like this macerated
22:37head believe it or not it takes fifteen thousand dollars of shredded money to make a six by four inch
22:43version of one of these these are actually really rare I've sold one of these before these can sell
22:48for two to three thousand dollars what the great find this is a cool find I mean we're in DC

22:55where you're gonna find rare political items like this all right I'll tell you what I'm gonna finish
22:59working in the living room dining room and you just call me if you find anything else cool I got

23:27found because it's full of sports cards here's an autographed Bryce Harper card we're finding more and
23:36more sports memorabilia at every turn so this is great oh my gosh more Bryce Harper game day programs
23:44they're basically worthless oh wow this is pretty interesting all right we got a JFK memorabilia JFK is one of
23:55the most collectible presidents of all time ask not what your country can do for you ask what you can
24:05do for
24:05your country the 35th president of the United States is remembered for his youthful optimism and
24:11unfinished promise in fact JFK remains the youngest person ever elected president taking office at only
24:1843 years old the most expensive piece of JFK memorabilia ever sold is his Louis the 16th desk where he
24:31famously
24:32signed the nuclear test ban treaty it sold for 1.4 million dollars in 1996 this whole bin seems to
24:41be
24:41full of what we call ephemera let's see we've got a book profiles and courage president John F Kennedy the
24:49Warren report this was the official report on the assassination of JFK I've gone through the top third
24:55of it and I'm seeing hundreds of dollars so far this is the political memorabilia that we've been looking for
25:01and it's in great shape you know these aren't home runs but there's still value here thanks for coming
25:41we've been able to sell some of the sports memorabilia but we are still lagging way behind in sales
25:46hopefully there's still some big ticket items somewhere in the house
25:57we let the basement hair out the mold containment spray has settled so now I'm going to go down and
26:01check out the walls to see how bad they really are and figure out our next step we're going to
26:06do the
26:07demo and that's going to save us money and I'm going to hire somebody to come put the walls back

26:12this mold problem is really adding up it costs about three grand to have it treated it's going to cost
26:17another 10 grand to put the walls up this is really starting to be a problem give me a sledgehammer
26:22this mold problem has become such an issue it's really going to affect our bottom line so if we
26:27can even save a few dollars doing the demo work ourselves we've got to do it because right now
26:31every dollar counts you gotta be careful you got pipes up in here tearing this wall down Mr. Groverchaw
26:40we finished the demolition in the basement and after looking at our numbers we desperately need to find
26:45some more items because we have not made enough money to cover our costs so now I'm going to work
