00:00Let's talk about the Twins for just a few moments.
00:021-4, Craig, currently in their last five games.
00:05And you take a look at the standings.
00:06Not awful at 12-15, so to speak,
00:08but the expectations for us, Craig, coming into the season,
00:11not really high on those Twins.
00:13Yeah, and I'm not surprised here.
00:15The Twins will go the other way at some point.
00:18I thought they were playing for the future,
00:19very similar to the St. Louis Cardinals.
00:21Cardinals often got off to a good start,
00:23and you've seen them come back a little bit too.
00:25So good news for the Twins is they're at home against Seattle.
00:28So, again, naturally, they'll probably be underdogs in these games,
00:32at least two of the three,
00:33but I don't know that necessarily that means that they would lose the series.
00:35Seattle is the better team,
00:38and Seattle has to be feeling really good about some of the struggles
00:41about some of the other teams in the American League.
00:44But I would think that Seattle's got an opportunity here
00:46to win two out of three or sweep.
00:48Yeah, take a look there.
00:49Monday, Castillo versus Prelip.
00:50Tuesday, it's going to be Gilbert versus Ryan.
00:52Then Wednesday, Kirby versus Bradley, and away they go.
00:55And just talking about the Twins,
00:56what we're going to get out of them for the rest of the Major League Baseball season.
00:58Not a lot of high expectations.
01:00Much, much higher for the Mariners.
01:01By the way, currently still here, Craig, in the month of April,
01:04under .500, looking to turn that corner.
01:07The Cardinals and the Pirates.
01:09We had a Central Division showdown here in the National League coming up,
01:12and we take a look at the Pirates.
01:1416-11 on the Major League Baseball season.
01:16And then also you take a look here at the Cardinals.
01:1814-12.
01:19Not so bad for a team that most people, by a wide margin,
01:22had been finishing in last place in the Central.
01:24If you look at the pitching matchups on a four-game set.
01:27Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
01:29May versus Ashcraft.
01:30Leahy versus Chandler.
01:31Palante versus Skeens.
01:32And Dobbins versus Keller here.
01:34Big series in the Central.
01:36Still in the month here of April.
01:38Yeah, and a four-gamer, as you see here.
01:40Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
01:42So, look, the Cardinals have played.
01:43I saw them in person and was on pre and post for their game.
01:47So, I could say that they're definitely playing better than I thought.
01:50But their lineup, Donnie, just leaves a lot to be desired.
01:54You know, and all of a sudden, if Jordan Walker stops, you know, being at a 60 home run pace,
01:59they're going to be in big trouble.
02:00I think the Pirates pitching is going to have their way with the Cardinals.
02:03May, I thought, looked much better last time out than he has all season long.
02:07So, maybe that's a change for the better.
02:09But these starting pitchers, Donnie, what they're praying for is going five, six innings.
02:12The one thing with the Cardinals that, again, is in their favor and the reason why they're over 500
02:18is this Riley O'Brien, their closer, who pitched very well last season, is off to this tremendous start.
02:25And, Donnie, I don't know that that's sustainable, but that's the reason the Cardinals are winning
02:29all of these one-run and close games.
02:32If that continues, they'll still play well.
02:34But what it kind of tells you, there'll be some regression, I think, over the course of the year with
02:38them.
02:39Yeah, end of April here.
02:40Both of these teams are going to be over 500.
02:41We'll see if one of these teams can make that charge, get up to the top of the leaders,
02:44because the Cubs and the Reds playing some really good baseball in the Central.
02:47Who would have thought?
02:48Using an afterthought, the Central, very good baseball being played.
