00:00It's going to be Tampa Bay versus Minnesota for the final game of their stanza.
00:03Nick Martinez on the mound here for Tampa Bay going up against Simeon Woods Richardson.
00:08If you look at the overnight lines, Craig, really at the facto pick them here.
00:11115 minus 105 splits, minus 110, minus 110s.
00:14So roughly even, and the total, which was eight and a half overnight,
00:18has dropped down to eight now in the Twin Cities here, Craig.
00:21Yeah, I think that line is moving the wrong way.
00:24Tampa Bay is hitting the ball very well.
00:26Yandy Diaz may be the best hitter in the American League through a week and a half.
00:32Simpson is off to a good start.
00:34There's a young player that he was, I believe, on Miami for a period of time.
00:39Tristan Gray has driven in a lot of runs.
00:41For the Twins, you see Josh Bell off to a good start.
00:44I think that there's some runs to be had in this game today, Donnie.
00:47I do think that there is a chance that we could see this fly over the total here.
00:52I don't love either starting pitcher also,
00:55and Martinez is prone to give up the home run.
00:57You know, to me, Minnesota is one of those teams probably going the wrong way this season.
01:01Tampa Bay eventually will get it right.
01:02Strange that they have them so much here, by the way, Donnie, on the road to start the year.
01:06Bizarre.
01:07Okay, but yeah, no, I do think some runs are in store for today.
01:11I like what I've seen from Tampa's offense to start,
01:13and Minnesota can swing it as well,
01:15and they really haven't gotten all that much from some of their other stars.
01:18So, for me, I don't understand the movement down the eight here.
01:22Maybe the weather.
01:23Yeah, right-handed pitching here going up against Yandy Diaz.
01:27He's done really well, Craig.
01:28A 5.07 weighted on base percentage and a low K number at 13%.
01:31Other guys, Arandis had decent numbers.
01:33Fortez has decent numbers.
01:34Williamson and also Chandler Simpson with a 4.39 weighted on base percentage here
01:38going up against Woods Richardson.
01:40If we flip it over to the other side, Martinez will be in the mound.
01:42He's your everyday run-of-the-mill pitcher in Major League Baseball.
01:45Last year, 690 batters he's faced, a 182 ISO right around average,
01:49weighted on base percentage, 322, Craig, right around average as well.
01:52But if you do look at that Twins lineup here,
01:54early season against right into pitching, Craig, it's done well.
01:57Cody Clemens, Byron Buxton, Walner, Bell, as well as Larnock and Lewis
02:00all have really good ISO power numbers against right into pitching.
02:04Maybe, Craig, you're on to something.
02:06Double-digit wind blowing out the right field, that short porch out there.
02:08Maybe we do get some runs.
02:10Yeah, no, I do think so.
02:12Look, naturally, you're still waiting for Royce Lewis
02:15and some of the other Twins hitters to start getting it going.
02:17But if we're talking about ISO numbers with Chandler Simpson
02:20and focusing on that, a guy who's not going to hit a ton of extra base hits
02:25this season beyond just getting hits and stealing bases.
02:28And again, you don't have, you would say, the Twins' best pitcher,
02:32the Rays' best pitcher, probably not even their second or third.
02:35So you get deeper into that bullpen as the week goes on.
02:37You may be getting some guys coming in to just save some innings ahead of next week.
02:42So yeah, I do like some runs today in that game.
