00:19Winter is here, and we have very limited time left now, and we're really close to the goal,
00:27but this time of year, everything's pretty near its breaking point.
00:3231-year-old Parker Schnabel is closing out the busiest season of his life, running 24-7 for six months,
00:42and it's paying off.
00:44He's close to breaking his 10,000-ounce goal, but is barely ahead of neighbor Tony Beetz.
00:51Mitch is busy running the stripping program in the midst of, you know, trying to keep Roxanne running
00:57and starting our next pit on the Indian River for next year, and then Tyson is just, you know, fighting
01:04to keep the three plants on Dominion running.
01:10To hit his goal this week, Parker's cranking up his four wash plants to run even more pay dirt.
01:18Just got to keep these wash plants running.
01:21Parker, got a copy, Parker.
01:22Who's that?
01:25Yeah, go ahead.
01:26Got a big problem with Roxanne.
01:29Got some cracked cross tubes here.
01:36All right.
01:36Yeah, I'll let Mitch know.
01:38He'll come up and have a look at it with you.
01:42Stupid plan.
01:49Hey, Mitch.
01:50What's happening, man?
01:51Just trying to figure out the best way to get rid of this water over here.
01:56Alec just radioed me, and there's bigger problems.
02:00There's a bunch of cracks in the screen deck on Roxanne.
02:04Oh, no good.
02:05He's up there having a look at it.
02:08And we're only, like, what, 400 and change away from hitting our goal?
02:12So we'll just have to keep trying to babysit it through the season and then figure out a plan.
02:17Yeah.
02:19On the plus side, gold has another record high today.
02:22That's awesome.
02:23It's nuts.
02:23It's totally crazy.
02:24But, yeah, let's try to keep that thing banging if you don't mind.
02:27All right, we'll go have a look.
02:28Thanks, man.
02:30Only two years old, wash plant Roxanne already has cracks in its structural tubes.
02:37If not fixed, they could break apart and damage the plant, putting it out of action for the rest of
02:44the season.
02:45How's it going, buddy?
02:46So this whole cross tube here is compromised.
02:48We'd be looking at maybe two days downtime to replace this tube here and that tube there.
02:54There's no way Parker's going to let us turn this wash plant off for any length of time.
02:58So probably just pop those screens out, weld her up the best you can.
03:03Hopefully it's got enough life left in it to get to the end here.
03:05Oh, yeah.
03:06If you look at the gold prices right now, every one of these mine bosses has the same mentality, dude.
03:11Crank them up as hard as you can, get as much material through them to get as much gold.
03:16Yeah, for sure.
03:16Thanks, buddy.
03:17Take care, Mitch.
03:22Okay.
03:24That's the guy right there.
03:26The one I'm after.
03:28Let the music begin.
03:31I love my job.
03:34This is one of the worst cracks that I've seen on a plant that we've actually kept running.
03:43The crack just keeps going.
03:54Oh, damn it.
04:00Are you still in there?
04:04Oh,
04:08Hey, Matt.
04:09Hey, I've hurt my foot pretty bad.
04:13I'm going to need some medical attention here.
04:15You're still in this way, man.
04:16It's coming up to you.
04:18Okay.
04:27You all right up there, buddy?
04:30I'm hanging in there, Matt.
04:32Let's see that thing.
04:36Does that hurt pretty good?
04:37It hurts beautifully.
04:39Yeah, I thought so.
04:40A 4,000 degree piece of molten metal flew into Alec's boot, searing his flesh, causing second
04:49degree burns.
04:51All right, I'm going to flush it with this and get this burn dressing on there.
04:59Definitely clean that out really well when you get home.
05:02Yeah, it's melted my sock real good.
05:05Put, like, antiseptic gel on it.
05:07We'll just keep working, I guess.
05:10Gold star for you, buddy.
05:11Yeah, right.
05:13Well, that's happy to help.
05:15Thanks, Matt.
05:16See ya.
05:17There's no one else here to do this or to help me, so just suck it up and keep working.
05:24Foot patched up, Alec gets back to welding Roxanne.
05:28And with Roxanne back on her feet, the crew have a fighting chance of hitting 10,000 ounces
05:36by the end of the week.
05:38All the welding's done.
05:40I'm just reassembling the top deck.
05:43Get ready to start sluicing here.
05:52Fire it up, Roxanne.
05:54Here we go.
06:03Let's get sluicing.
06:18How's your foot doing, man?
06:20I don't feel it right now.
06:21Whatever Matt did is really working good.
06:23Well, Matt, thanks for being a trooper there and just patching it up and buckling down and
06:28getting it finished.
06:30What do you think, man?
06:31Will it last a week?
06:32That's a million-dollar question right there.
06:35No warranty, no guarantee, but fingers crossed.
06:40Great job, buddy.
06:41We're washing rocks.
06:53Well, here we go.
06:55Last bucket of pay of Vegas Valley.
07:00We're finally right to the very end here.
07:05We got the last pay out of Vegas Valley.
07:08It's not really a good thing.
07:11This is our last chance, and we've got to treat it that way.
07:14It'll be our last chance in the Yukon ever.
07:16While Parker chases down 10,000 ounces, Rick Ness has only just edged past 1,000.
07:24His rollercoaster ride of a season has seen him expand his ground and become flush with claims.
07:31But red tape and bad luck have backed him into a corner, and his weary crew are battling
07:38to reach 1,800 ounces to earn their bonuses and secure their future.
07:44This has been the coldest morning we've had so far.
07:46Had to fall up and run real quick before we could fire up.
07:51Once you see that, you know that winter's coming.
07:54Now, Rick's new Vegas Valley cut has run out of pay much quicker than he expected.
08:00Not only is the weather starting to creep in, but, I mean, our pay pile's dwindling fast,
08:05and it's only a matter of time.
08:07I mean, we're down to days and weeks now.
08:11With just two weeks left to get over 700 ounces,
08:15Rick is hoping for a massive final payday from Vegas Valley
08:19to take the stress off his new cut, the last chance.
08:24The easy option right now would be to pack it up, you know, lick our wounds, go home.
08:28But now we've got to pivot.
08:31We have to move on.
08:32That's why I made the decision to, you know, open up this new last chance cut.
08:36I don't think anybody's that excited about opening up a new cut this late in the season,
08:40but we need more gold, and then that's where it's going to be.
08:44At Duncan Creek, Rick wants to keep following the Vegas Valley pay streak upstream
08:50and plans to move north, opening the one-acre last-chance cut.
08:57Before stripping can begin, the area must first be drained by digging a channel
09:02to release the water into the mined-out Vegas Valley.
09:07While it's draining, Rick will clear a ridge of trees and loose rocks
09:12to make the cut safe to work in.
09:14Finally, Rick's crew must then dig down 40 feet
09:19to hit the top of the gold-rich pay layer he's praying will save his season.
09:25And he wants it all done before the last of his stockpiled pay runs out.
09:34You got a copy there, Bailey?
09:35Yeah, go ahead, Ricky.
09:37What do you figure there? Are you ready to cut this water through?
09:40Yeah, I think we should be good to go.
09:43All right, well, just make sure you take it easy.
09:45Sounds good.
09:52The water over there, we got to cut it through the bank over here.
09:55We're going to slowly just crack it down there and let that water run out and dry out our new
09:59cut.
10:07There it goes.
10:12How's she looking, bud? Looks nice and slow to me. I like it.
10:15Yeah, it looks like it's a good pace.
10:18All right, well, yeah, we'll just let it drain for a bit and then we'll get back to digging.
10:23Sounds good, man.
10:25Vegas Valley's done and it's very late in the season, but we got another cut to open up
10:29and then we want to hit 1,800 ounces and this is the first step.
10:33So we're moving on.
10:37To help him on his quest to open the last chance, Rick hops into the rebuilt 700.
10:46The 700's been down, you know, the bulk of the season here.
10:49It was our second biggest excavator.
10:51To have it back now is a big deal, so we'll be getting the last chance cut.
10:55Open up in no time.
10:57After the 700 broke down earlier in the year, Rick spent 50 grand on a complete engine rebuild
11:04and can finally put it to work for the first time this season.
11:08These trees are really close to the edge right at the top of the last chance cut.
11:11Once I get these trees, you know, moved back, I'll be feeling a hell of a lot better about
11:16barely being underneath, that's where the pay is, then moving closer to the bank.
11:20There they go, wrong way.
11:24I enjoyed that one, center over the edge.
11:27You feel pretty tough with a chainsaw knocking trees down, but that's nothing compared to
11:31knocking trees down with a 70-ton excavator.
11:36I can't have them falling down.
11:37I'm just trying to get some more trees.
11:42Put the tree.
11:46Damn it.
11:47Oh, I saw an oil squirt, too.
11:55Yeah.
11:59Oh, he definitely got a hydraulic leak.
12:03Hey, Ryan.
12:05Hey, man.
12:05Can you meet me up by the 700?
12:07I, uh, I hooked a tree with a hydraulic leak.
12:11All right, thanks.
12:13Damn it.
12:14Just got this thing back running.
12:23Hey, man.
12:24What's up?
12:25Oh, it looks like a seal.
12:27I hooked it on a tree line, and I heard something hiss, and then I saw some spray, so.
12:33At least it's not the hose.
12:35Yeah.
12:36Yeah.
12:36Yeah, that needs to be fixed.
12:39Let me grab my glasses.
12:51Whoa!
12:52That's why I hate this.
12:56Just left loose like that.
13:00Stupid bull .
13:16Mechanic Ryan Kent has been hit in the face with hydraulic fluid while fixing Rick's 700 excavator.
13:26Sorry, I got hit in the face, man.
13:28Yeah, it's fine.
13:29Let's just get it done.
13:35Yeah, it'll spit that seal right out.
13:37Yeah, you can see it.
13:38It's damaged.
13:40It's taking the coupler off.
13:41It holds the hydraulic lines right now.
13:43You can see where the O-ring actually pushed out.
13:46It might have already been loose.
13:47Who knows?
13:48But I know with me hitting it on a tree didn't help it, so.
13:52All right, slide it.
13:56So, there's your two different seals.
13:58This one's just seen her days.
14:00Pull it out, and then we'll just slide it in.
14:04Just tighten these bolts down, and should be able to get it right back in action.
14:09Start it up.
14:10Yeah, make sure we're not going to leak.
14:11Okay.
14:14If it doesn't leak, we're in business.
14:24Looks good.
14:26Good to go?
14:27Yep.
14:28Nice, man.
14:31Got no leaks.
14:35Everything seems back to normal.
14:37So, we got lucky with this one.
14:40We are back in business.
14:58It's getting late in the day.
15:00The weather is holding up, so we're going to try to keep all four plans going.
15:04If that is the case, we're likely to hit 10,000 ounces by the end of the week.
15:09But this is something that I've never done in 40 years of mining.
15:14Tony, do you copy Tony?
15:16Could you come have a look at the corner cut with me?
15:19I'm on my way.
15:21Tony Beetz has already banked more than $35 million.
15:26And after his bumper 1,000-ounce gold haul last week, the king of the Klondike is in striking
15:34distance of 10,000 ounces and edging in front of Parker.
15:40But there's a problem.
15:43How's it looking, Mike?
15:44This corner cut is almost done.
15:49So, we got to figure something out because we don't want to run out of pay.
15:54So, we're not going to have enough of the season here then, huh?
15:57Doesn't look like it.
16:04Let's come up with a plan so that we can run both plans till the end.
16:09The early bird cut is pretty good in the beginning.
16:12It might be an option.
16:13Move one plant over there.
16:16See if there's anything that we can strip and still sluice.
16:19The gold price as is today.
16:21We got to keep on going till the bitter end.
16:23Why not?
16:24What the hell?
16:24Yeah, well, we can.
16:26On the Indian River, Tony has opened up more ground than ever before.
16:31And he's reaped the rewards.
16:34His twin wash plants, running in the massive corner cut, have consistently delivered huge gold waves.
16:42But now, its pay is running out.
16:45And he has to go in search of another rich spot.
16:49Tony will start his treasure hunt next to some of his richest ground of the year, the early bird cut,
16:56where he's praying the gold-rich pay continues.
17:03We are a little bit of a fishing expedition.
17:08I'm going to go and poke around, see if I can get it down to ground.
17:13I mean, down there, I don't know what that is.
17:15It looks like gravel.
17:18Let's see if it's going to continue.
17:25Whoa!
17:27What the f**k is happening?
17:29I got lucky that we're digging here for 15 minutes, and I'm running into some nice gravel.
17:38So, it's pretty much a no-brainer to get the hell in here.
17:42I mean, it's laying right there in front of you.
17:45Gravels, a light brown dirt with small rocks, are a strong indication there's good gold here.
17:52And Tony's found some, just six feet below the surface.
17:57We're going to strip this out, because I like to have this down by pay by the end of the
18:01week.
18:04Okay, guys, somebody bring that 950 over here, and bring me two trucks.
18:12Make sure one of them is the 50 tunnel.
18:13To strip the early bird extension quicker, and avoid shutting down a plant, Tony brings in his monster 950 excavator,
18:23capable of moving 10 tons of dirt with every bucket.
18:27Three buckets, two truckloads, bingo, you make something happening that way.
18:31And to shift all that dirt fast, an A40 rock truck, and his new toy, the A50, with its 7
18:39-ton increase in payload.
18:41Today, Tony got me in the A50 for the first time.
18:45It's awesome, man.
18:46Like, it just looks so futuristic, you know.
18:50He wants us to cut down to pay by the end of the week.
18:53Do you see me?
18:54There's back on the need for me.
18:56Varian.
19:00The bigger the truck, the bigger the load, the more you get done.
19:08I'll just throw a fourth one in it, just for good measure.
19:12What's one more, right?
19:14Power load, this ball.
19:17This 50-ton truck seems to take another bucket full.
19:22Maybe I'll buy more 50-ton trucks?
19:25Hey, that's an idea.
19:30There's a lot of dirt in the back of the truck.
19:31Like, it's crazy.
19:47Tony's so keen to get the dirt out of here.
19:49He's overloading me.
19:57It's too heavy.
19:58Like, it was at 66 tons.
20:01So, it couldn't dump me.
20:05Now, why is that 50-toner coming back?
20:09Hey, Darien, why are you coming back with a full load?
20:22Hey, Darien, why are you coming back with a full load?
20:26I can't dump.
20:27It's too heavy.
20:28Rushing to get his new cut down to pay,
20:31Tony has overfilled Darien's 50-ton rock truck.
20:35It's what?
20:37It's too heavy to dump.
20:38I can't dump it.
20:42Go back there with a truck and face it downhill,
20:45and then it'll dump.
20:46Okay.
20:53Yeah, dump it like that, Darien, that's it.
21:03He's a smart guy, you see?
21:05He knows all the tricks.
21:06If Tony can get his new cut stripped
21:09and down to pay by the end of the week,
21:12he'll be back on track to hit 10,000 ounces.
21:16The corner cut could be done in a week.
21:18I want to have this cut ready.
21:21If the turn's out good,
21:23then we just keep on sluicing until the very end.
21:40I thought we'd have 10,000 ounces by now,
21:46but it's proving to be a bit elusive.
21:49We need to impress those wash plants
21:51a hell of a lot harder.
21:53In a Herculean effort to get 430 ounces
21:56and hit 10,000 by the end of the week,
22:00Parker is pushing his crew and wash plants hard.
22:05With Parker's decision to run the absolute piss
22:10out of the wash plants,
22:11so we can hit our gold total,
22:13I got Big Red running a little hot.
22:17So it's definitely putting a lot of stress
22:19on the plants and whatnot,
22:20but, you know,
22:22it's not my call.
22:24I'm just here to do my job
22:26and keep Parker happy.
22:38Oh,
22:41don't stop.
22:56Liam, Alec, do you got a copy?
22:59Yeah, go for Liam.
23:00Hey, man,
23:01I'm going to need you to come up to Big Red.
23:14John, what happened?
23:16Radio stacker quit on me, buddy.
23:19It looks like we got a super slimy belt here.
23:23It gives no friction to the belt,
23:25so when it makes its way up to the head drum,
23:28the head drum will just spin there.
23:31Why we're getting so much mud
23:32on the inside of the conveyor?
23:35Maybe it's just not coming in far enough.
23:37Yeah.
23:38We need a bit more overlap,
23:39like from this head drum into this rock box
23:42so the material doesn't stack up here.
23:45This hopper is buried in material left and right.
23:48So what do you think?
23:49We got to move the radial stacker back?
23:51Yeah.
23:51We have hydraulics on this,
23:53so I can just run the hydraulics a bit
23:54and sort of like inchworm it back a bit.
23:57How do you inchworm a radial stacker?
24:01The stacker's going to have to be up in the air.
24:02And then as long as the axle end,
24:05which is usually planted with those power wheels,
24:07was free to come towards this plate,
24:12the radial stacker would effectively move backwards.
24:14And now it's top heavy and unsettled.
24:17If it wants to roll away with the conveyor up like that,
24:19like who's to say it's not going to fall over to?
24:21It's definitely risky.
24:24Pay dirt from Big Red's hopper conveyor
24:26is getting under the wash plant's radial stacker
24:29and coating the inside of its belt,
24:32which is then traveling up to the drive pulley's head drum,
24:36making it slip,
24:38stopping pay from being fed into the plant.
24:42Moving the hopper feeder's conveyor forward
24:45would solve the problem,
24:46but it would require time
24:49and an excavator they don't have.
24:51Alec's quick but risky fix
24:54is to inch the 120-foot radial stacker
24:57back by three inches
24:59so it sits further underneath the feeder conveyor,
25:03stopping the pay getting under the belt.
25:06First, he'll raise the top end of the radial stacker up
25:10and use its weight to generate downforce onto the axle.
25:15Then, by lifting the axle's gull-wing brake wheels
25:19off the ground,
25:20he hopes to inch the stacker back
25:22towards the feeder conveyor.
25:24But if he loses control,
25:27it could topple over and cause a disaster.
25:32Have you ever done this before?
25:33This is completely experimental.
25:35Seems like the only option we got.
25:37Let's give it a go.
25:38See what happens.
25:39All right.
25:45So it's called that our line in the sand there, yeah.
25:48If it goes south, well, it was nice hoeing you.
25:50Yeah, you too, buddy.
25:51All righty.
25:53I'm pulling up the wheels here,
25:55so maybe stand back a little bit.
25:58It's a little nerve-wracking.
25:59As soon as he lifts those gull-wings up,
26:02there could be a possibility
26:03where it tips completely over,
26:04so we're putting our prayers to the gods right now.
26:09Okay, that's off.
26:11Other side's also off.
26:13Okay, now the exciting part.
26:18Oh, my God, it's moving so much.
26:25I'm raising up the radio stacker now
26:27with the gull-wings off the ground,
26:31and these wheels are moving slowly,
26:33which is letting me know
26:35so that we are indeed checking our progress.
26:42My heart's in my throat right now
26:44watching this thing move back and forth,
26:47knowing that it could top blow over.
26:51Got like half an inch.
26:56All right, we got our height.
26:58Then I'm going to lower the stacker,
26:59which should increase the distance.
27:04That's good.
27:07The gull-wings back on the ground here.
27:14As for level side to side,
27:16do you figure we're pretty good?
27:18It looks pretty good to me.
27:20Okay, yeah, we got the weight back
27:21on the stabilizer legs.
27:23I can roll these duallys,
27:24so I'm just going to go say hi to brother John
27:26and see if we've moved the amount we need to.
27:30What did we end up getting, John?
27:33Yeah, three, three and a half.
27:35As long as the material doesn't pile up here,
27:38it shouldn't get into the belt.
27:39It shouldn't get with stuff up there.
27:41So let's fire up.
27:42Great job, guys.
27:43Great job.
27:44Woo!
27:52Rose stacker.
27:57Let's get it.
28:02Woo!
28:07It's looking a lot better
28:09for where the material's landing.
28:12The plan has helped a lot.
28:14Are we winning?
28:15Looks like it's running really good.
28:17Nice.
28:20We got Big Red running again.
28:22Everything's running smooth,
28:23and now the main focus is to
28:25keep the wash plants running
28:27and hit our 10,000-ounce goal.
28:43It looks like a mess, huh?
28:46That's a lot of water, isn't it?
28:47Yeah, that doesn't look funny at all.
28:49We're getting on with this water
28:51and that kind of mud.
28:52Determined to reach 10,000 ounces this week,
28:57Tony is racing to get down to pay
28:59in an extension to the early bird cut.
29:02But his stripping crew have hit ground water,
29:06flooding the cut and making it unminable.
29:10Well, do we pump it or that's it?
29:13Well, why don't we do both?
29:15Make it this, put it in the culvert,
29:17put it in the pump,
29:19get the water down in the old ponds,
29:21get it over it.
29:23Let's see.
29:24Get the new guy over there.
29:26Hey, Sean, do you copy?
29:27Sean, do you copy?
29:28Can you get over there, please?
29:29Okay.
29:30We need to do some dissing over there
29:31to get over there, would you?
29:33Let's clean this up.
29:37To drain the flooded cut,
29:39Tony will dig a ditch through the road,
29:42which lies between his new extension
29:44and an already mined out section
29:47of the early bird cut.
29:49Then install a culvert and pump
29:52that will drain flood water
29:54from the new cut into the old cut.
29:57Finally, rebuild the road
29:59and get his plan to hit paydirt
30:02by the end of the week
30:03back on track.
30:06So what I'm at, Sean,
30:08doing here now.
30:09It's just a little bit of water maintenance
30:11that we got going on over here.
30:13You know how new guys are.
30:15You got to test them out.
30:17He looks to be doing just fine to me.
30:21It's my first day working for Tony Beats
30:24out in the Yukon
30:25and very first time ever gold mining.
30:29Still a bit nervous,
30:30but we're getting there.
30:33If you don't have tough skin,
30:34you're not ready for this industry.
30:43Sean, Sean, Sean, Sean, stop.
30:47Look at me!
30:49Shut her down for a minute.
30:54Holy s***, what a mess.
30:57It's full of dirt.
31:00You got to be careful
31:01digging it out of here.
31:02You don't rip your electrical apart.
31:04It's not good.
31:07Sean, you just leave this here.
31:09Go get that $3.49
31:10and you can just keep ditching with that
31:13and then we can get this machine fixed.
31:15Sounds good.
31:19Operator error right there.
31:21You should have been able
31:22to see it in the mirror here.
31:24F***ing idiot.
31:26Every minute of downtime is no good
31:28because it all equates to lost gold.
31:33This f***ing is going to drop.
31:38There she goes.
31:42Sean's in the $3.49.
31:44Hopefully he doesn't f*** that up at all.
31:46Here's Tony.
31:50Here's Tony.
31:51What's that panel do you have on the back?
31:54That panel's off to 700.
32:03I'll get out and talk to you.
32:07So that panel's off to 700.
32:10Who did you hear that?
32:11That and Sean guy.
32:12The new one?
32:13Yeah.
32:14We should go home for a day for that one.
32:16Yeah.
32:16It'll make your life easier to do.
32:18Yes, sir.
32:19Beep, beep!
32:23After sending rookie operator Sean home,
32:27Tony takes over in the $3.49
32:29to finish the ditch
32:31and install the culvert.
32:33Let's send the operator home for the day
32:35because same story as always.
32:38If you want to come right,
32:40I guess you have to do it yourself.
32:44So let's grab the culvert out.
32:47Let's grab the culvert.
32:48We don't have enough time left this season
32:50to f*** around,
32:51so we got to get going.
32:57I think I put me must have it.
33:02That'll be good enough.
33:04I put f*** around there for whatever,
33:06but all I do is don't happen to feel like it.
33:11You want me to grab that bomb?
33:13Yes, please.
33:14Okay.
33:14Because they're running around
33:15in the foot of water down there.
33:20In just 90 minutes,
33:22Tony has got his new cut drying out,
33:25and he's back in the chase
33:27to catch Parker.
33:34It looks pretty damn good.
33:36It looks to me that
33:37there's going to be plenty of pay
33:38to keep on going.
33:56It's definitely a big race here,
33:58trying to get down to that pay
33:59as quick as we can,
34:00keep that plant running.
34:03When the plant shuts down,
34:05you know, completely freeze,
34:06and we won't be able
34:06to fire up the plant again.
34:08Rick and his crew are battling
34:10to hit pay in their new cut,
34:12a last chance,
34:13before the stockpile
34:14from Vegas Valley runs out,
34:16and they are forced
34:16to shut down Monster Red.
34:19Yeah, it looks like
34:20we got a scoop or two left here.
34:22It's not good.
34:26The pay pile's dwindling
34:28pretty quick here.
34:29I don't even know
34:30if it's a pile anymore.
34:33Bailey, you got a copy?
34:36Go ahead for bailing.
34:38Hey, we're almost,
34:40we're getting pretty low on pay here.
34:41You got any kind of time frame
34:43when you think you're going to get
34:43any up to the plant?
34:46Well, I don't know how low it is,
34:48but it's going to be a couple of days
34:50on my end before I can send anything.
34:54We don't got a couple days left up here.
34:56We'll end up having to shut it down.
34:59Yes, that's it.
35:01You know, nothing that we can do here.
35:07There we go.
35:08Last bucket of pay.
35:09Going to the plant now.
35:20That's it.
35:21That's all we got.
35:31We shut it down now.
35:32There's nothing else to run.
35:35Shut it down today
35:36and hopefully it's not
35:37for the last time this season.
35:39If freezing winter temperatures
35:41arrive before they hit pay
35:43in the last chance,
35:45Monster Red will be too frozen
35:46to fire up,
35:48putting even more pressure
35:49on this week's Goldway.
35:53It's always impossible to tell
35:56just when we're pulling mats
35:57how good it's going to be.
35:58We need it to be great.
35:59So fingers crossed,
36:01we can find greatness
36:03to save this season.
36:07Bailey's still a couple days away
36:08from pay.
36:09If the weather decides to change
36:10and freeze up,
36:11we're going to be in trouble.
36:13We get a couple more good cleanups
36:15and we're set.
36:16I mean, the gold is really good
36:18right now.
36:19We'll hit 1,800 to get out of here
36:20with these guys getting what they earned
36:22and us coming back next year.
36:24Hopefully we get a few more good days
36:26and we get to run again.
36:28But who knows?
36:47Oh, hi.
36:48Hey, Rick.
36:49Hey, Rick.
36:49Hey, Rick.
36:51Holy Rick,
36:51that looks like a lot of gold.
36:53Yeah, so that's the last of the gold
36:55from Vegas Valley, though.
36:57It's a shame we don't have any more,
36:58but that's where we're at.
37:01It'd be easy to go home,
37:02but, you know,
37:03we'd be f***ing next year.
37:04Your bonuses
37:05and the future of this company,
37:06that's basically what we're
37:07fighting for right now.
37:08All right, let's weigh some gold.
37:11Let's do it.
37:12Find out how we did.
37:13Last week,
37:14Rick and his crew
37:15pulled 430 ounces of gold,
37:19their biggest haul ever.
37:21But they are still
37:22more than 700 ounces short
37:24of the 1,800,
37:26Rick needs to pay their bonus
37:28and secure his mining future.
37:31Ready?
37:32Well,
37:34200.
37:35Yeah.
37:37And we'll see what we add to that.
37:40Here she comes.
37:42Ready?
37:42Okay.
37:4610, 20,
37:4830, 35,
37:5050,
37:5058,
37:5159,
37:5269,
37:5480,
37:5590,
37:5697,
37:5798,
37:58102.27.
38:01Nice.
38:03302.27.
38:04302.27.
38:06Nice.
38:06Nice.
38:07Nice number.
38:08Sweet.
38:09Worth
38:10$1,148,000.
38:14So what's that?
38:15That puts us at
38:161,379.65.
38:18Making up ground quick.
38:20Yeah.
38:21Rick needs
38:22420 more ounces
38:24to hit 1,800
38:25and send everyone
38:27home with gold.
38:28But he still hasn't hit pay
38:31in the last chance cut.
38:33You know what I mean?
38:33Weather's changing.
38:34Yeah.
38:34And we're down right now,
38:36not running.
38:37You shut it down,
38:37you might never start it back up.
38:38Yeah.
38:39Next week,
38:39this could be snow.
38:41What's the challenges
38:42at the end of the year, man?
38:43Oh, yeah.
38:43Honestly,
38:44all we need is a little luck
38:44with the weather
38:45because I know you can get
38:45to the bottom of that cut.
38:46I know we can get that pay run.
38:48Yeah.
38:48We just need a bit of time.
38:50Well, I say we,
38:51cheers to Bailey.
38:52Yeah.
38:53Yeah.
38:57It's all on you.
38:58Thanks, guys.
38:59Thanks, guys.
39:02Well, that's another good gold way.
39:03I mean, when we get the plant running,
39:05we make up ground quick.
39:06You know, it's good ground.
39:07We just have to fight hard
39:09to get to it.
39:09And right now,
39:10it's all in the last chance cut.
39:26Hello.
39:27Hi.
39:28Hello.
39:29How are you guys?
39:31Nice coffee cup.
39:33That's a huge-sized coffee cup.
39:36The corner cut's pretty big,
39:38but it's looking a little empty.
39:40Yeah, it does.
39:41We are scratching
39:42the last bit out of it.
39:44We still got some pay left
39:45in the early bird cut.
39:47I would really love
39:48to take that out there, too,
39:50but with the price of gold right now,
39:52we're pretty silly to quit.
39:54How's things going on the hill?
39:55Harold literally is, like, no headache.
39:58When I go through that thing,
40:00it's just like,
40:00you lift up the hydraulic riffle,
40:02and you just see gold everywhere.
40:03Nothing wrong with that.
40:05Trom has been running 24-7.
40:06That plant...
40:08Just eats, does it?
40:09...eats it.
40:10It's called the Trom-nom-nom-no.
40:13Hey, Monica,
40:14should we weigh some gold?
40:15Yes.
40:16Who wants to start counting?
40:18I'll count.
40:19The Beetz family
40:21need more than 700 ounces
40:23to reach 10,000.
40:25So this is Sluisalot.
40:27Okay.
40:29Okay, 10, 20...
40:31Sluisalot has been running
40:33the last of the pay
40:34in the corner cut.
40:36100, 130, 140,
40:38150, 180,
40:41190,
40:43192.42.
40:47It was a little bit less
40:48than the last time.
40:50How come?
40:50I mean, we're getting
40:51to the end of the cut,
40:52and then we're starting
40:53to pick a leftover.
40:54I think that'll basically
40:55have something to do with it.
40:58So this is for Findalot.
41:00All right.
41:02Findalot has also been churning
41:03through the remaining
41:04corner cut pay.
41:0670, 80, 90,
41:08110, 120,
41:09140, 160,
41:12180,
41:14182.0.
41:15Oh, six.
41:18Well,
41:19not as good as last week.
41:22This one is a little bit
41:23lower, too.
41:23Same stuff, same cut.
41:25Same stuff, same cut.
41:26I mean, it's not that we're
41:27running any more or less.
41:29Tony's twin plants
41:30at Indian River
41:31bring his total
41:33to just over 9,640 ounces.
41:38Well, that was all
41:39the Indian River gold.
41:40It's time for hill gold.
41:42Let's see what Herald's got.
41:4510, 20, 30, 40.
41:47Harold has been running pay
41:49from the Hester cut.
41:51100, 120,
41:54132.6.
41:57Less gold as the last time.
42:00It might have just ran
42:01the patch, it might end up just getting diluted because we're running through whatever is there.
42:05With three of his wash plants delivering less gold than last week,
42:10Tony is still more than 200 ounces short of 10,000.
42:17This is from the trommel?
42:19Yep.
42:24Nice.
42:26All right, Mike, can you see?
42:28Yeah, go for it.
42:3310, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 150, 160, 200, 220, 230, 240, 250, 260, 280, 290, 3,
42:47310, 330, 340, 350, 370, 380, 390, 400, 410, 420, 430.
43:00There you go.
43:01That's what you do.
43:02The Beetz family passed 10,000 ounces for the first time ever with a total of 10,212, worth over
43:13$38,800,000.
43:18That's actually pretty good.
43:19But yeah, that's a pretty big thing.
43:22That's a lot of money.
43:23That's a lot of bucks, Mike.
43:25They say that's $2 million on the table.
43:28Yeah, I've been running 24-7, man.
43:30Yeah, that's pretty awesome.
43:32We could do that for a while, couldn't we?
43:36So, we did over 10,000 ounces.
43:40We've never done so much in a season.
43:4310,000 ounces, that's pretty f***ing nice.
43:45That doesn't mean we're going to quit.
43:48I think I can beat Parker.
43:50Let's go to the bitter end, guys.
43:52It means no use quitting while you're ahead.
43:54That's the game, right?
43:55Okay, gentlemen, we'll get some more.
43:58Okay?
43:59Okay.
44:00It's not a bad summary.
44:02Okay.
44:03Okay.
44:08What up?
44:10Not saying it was a rough day, but that's our second cup.
44:15Parker and his crew have produced more than 9,500 ounces of gold this season
44:21and need just over 430 to hit his 10,000-ounce gold.
44:28Man, we've thrown a lot of rocks at those plants this year.
44:30It's getting rough out there trying to keep those plants going.
44:33We found some big cracks in Roxanne this week.
44:36It shows down here when you guys have problems out there.
44:40It's a s*** week is what you're saying.
44:44If we don't hit our 10,000-ounce gold, it's because the plant breakdowns.
44:49I know you guys have put a lot of dirt through them, so there is going to be wear and
44:53tear.
44:54It's got to keep them going.
44:55We're running out of time.
44:57We're running out of time real quick.
44:59Yeah, it's starting to get pretty cold, huh?
45:01Yeah.
45:02This, I think, would be the key week if we don't get some good numbers.
45:07So we can throw some gold on the scale and see how we did.
45:10Yeah, let's do it.
45:11All right.
45:13We got the bridge cut.
45:15Here we go.
45:19Wash plant Bob has been averaging 147 ounces a week in the bridge cut.
45:26120, 127.35.
45:30Not bad.
45:32Okay, Mitchell.
45:33Let's see what Roxanne can add to it.
45:35We got 40.
45:37Roxanne has been sluicing pay from pit 2 at Parker's Indian River claim.
45:43Come on, keep going.
45:45120, 133.9.
45:49Nice.
45:50There you go.
45:52So what are we looking for here?
45:53We need a little over, what, 200 to hit our target?
45:56200, yeah.
45:57Yeah.
45:58So this is the golden mile.
46:00We got a couple of them here.
46:02Ready?
46:02Yeah.
46:03See how Goose and Big Red did.
46:05Got 40, 80, 120, 130, 140.
46:11Don't slow down, doom it.
46:15There we go, 200.
46:17Sick.
46:19220, 258.15.
46:22Yeah.
46:23Woo.
46:25That's awesome.
46:27Good job, guys.
46:30For the first time ever, Parker has hit 10,000 ounces in a season worth an incredible $38,341,000.
46:43Good job, Todd.
46:45One more.
46:47I was rinsing the tank from the golden goose.
46:49I found the weirdest thing.
46:53The goose laid its first egg, you guys.
46:57Exactly one ounce.
46:58There you go.
47:00We got our golden egg for 259.15.
47:05That's cool.
47:06That's actually hilarious.
47:08Last week, we had 627.25 ounces.
47:14This week, 520.4 for a season total of 10,089.85 ounces.
47:25Sick.
47:26We did it.
47:27Good job, guys.
47:28And, you know, we've got a little bit of time left in the season, so I think we should
