01:59Do you do anything with your school to prepare for Anzac Day?
02:02We always have a minute's silence.
02:05We're going to sing songs at the Anzac Day Parade.
02:09I do choir and we sing lest we forget.
02:15School captains go to a dawn service.
02:19Last year we drew poppies.
02:22Sometimes we make like some paper poppies and stuff.
02:25Do you do anything with your family on Anzac Day?
02:29Um, well I sometimes make Anzac biscuits with my mum.
02:32In the morning we normally go to the parade.
02:35I go to a dawn service and then stay there for a couple of hours.
02:40We normally just talk about the war at home.
02:44I'm going to the 11 o'clock service.
02:47Then I go down to Anzac Park.
02:50We watch the, um, the, uh, the dawn service on TV.
02:56Um, we make Anzac cookies.
02:59Why do you think it's important that we have Anzac Day?
03:03Because if maybe if we don't everyone will just forget about all the people that went to war.
03:08Because they like saved our lives.
03:12We need to remember and don't forget all the people who kindly fought for us.
03:22It means a lot to me because my great-great-grandfather fought in World War I.
03:31These are my great-grandfather's medals.
03:36He was, um, in World War II.
03:41They're very special.
03:42My great-great-grandfather and his brother, who both went to war, but only one of them didn't come back
03:52because they were in Lone Pine.
03:54My great-great-grandfather, um, fought and died in a war.
03:59These were his keys to his box and these, um, tags were, like, if he died, then they would know
04:07who had died.
04:08We have to respect the people who died in the war because they fought for our country.
04:13Many of them, like, died.
04:16And so, like, the least we can do is remember them for what they've done.
04:22If we didn't have Anzac Day, we, uh, we wouldn't really remember what the people did for us.
04:28I think we celebrate it to, like, say thank you to all those people that fought for us and for
04:37our country.
