00:06The X-Files has been a crucial influence on my passion and work in the paranormal field and
00:13UFO-related. Since its inception in 1993, this iconic program has woven narratives that challenge our
00:20perception of reality and the unknown, motivating me to explore and share cases
00:24mysterious through my YouTube channel. On this occasion, I am pleased to present a special
00:29which examines episodes of The X-Files based on real cases, beginning with the fascinating
00:35This is the fifth episode of the first season of the series and it is a Jersey Devil episode.
00:41It premiered in 1993. In it, we follow agents Mulder and Scully as they investigate the legend
00:48of a creature that has roamed the New Jersey countryside for over 40 years. This case is
00:53especially intriguing because it combines elements of folklore with typical research methods
00:58paranormal phenomena that characterize the series. The central figure of this episode,
01:03The Jersey Devil is a legendary being whose existence is debated in scientific circles.
01:09and folklore. Their portrayal in The X-Files raises questions about the line between mythology
01:15and the possibility of the unexplained in our modern world. It is this type of narrative that
01:20They inspire my videos, prompting me to seek out and discuss evidence and testimonies that are often
01:26dismissed or ignored by conventional science. The program's ability to fuse suspense
01:32with science fiction, while raising questions about what might actually exist
01:37Beyond our current knowledge, it is something that has constantly motivated me to delve deeper into
01:42Ufology and the paranormal. Each episode, especially those like Jersey Devil, not only
01:47It not only entertains but also educates and provokes reflection, challenging viewers to think
01:52Beyond the everyday and the seemingly impossible. So this special is dedicated to everyone
01:59Those who, like me, found in the X-Files a portal to the unknown and an inspiration
02:05To explore those mysteries that science has not yet solved. Through this and upcoming videos.
02:12We will review other episodes that, like Jersey Devil, are based on real events or urban legends,
02:18analyzing its foundations and its impact on popular culture and human understanding
02:23of the paranormal. So join me on this journey through the X-Files, where every case
02:28It opens up new questions and offers a space for imagination and inquiry. From the deepest part of ourselves.
02:34From the forests of New Jersey to the farthest reaches of the universe, The X-Files invites us to believe
02:40that the truth, indeed, is out there.
02:47Welcome. I'm Paul. Join me on a new journey.
03:00Among the famous people from New Jersey we can find the Apollo astronaut,
03:06Boss Aldrin, basketball greats Shaquille O'Neal and Dennis Rodman, and the author
03:11from Game of Thrones, George R. R. Martin, and musicians like Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen
03:16and Whitney Houston. And if we look at the actors, we have Jerry Lewis and Jack Nicholson,
03:22Besides the magician David Copperfield. But then there's this annoying little thing called
03:28The Jersey Devil. The story of the so-called Jersey Devil is almost as legendary as...
03:34the stories surrounding such famous monsters as Bigfoot, the Lagoon Monster, or the
03:39Chupacabras. It's a very strange saga that dates back to 1735 and the heart of the Pines.
03:46The New Jersey Barrens, which occupy no less than 3,000 square kilometers and are dominated
03:52through masses of conifers. Monster hunter Ken Herrard states the following.
03:57Like most remote and uninhabited areas, the Pine Barrens are also permeated
04:04of mystery, with many picturesque tales about its history and traditions.
04:09She was a sinister figure who lived in the Pine Barrens and who, upon becoming pregnant by
04:13The thirteenth time, he cast a curse upon the fetus, causing it to adopt a
04:18in a gruesome way. It was very fitting that on the night Mother Liz went into labor,
04:24A wild storm will hit the area, shaking the trees and filling the skies with thunder.
04:29and enormous lightning flashes that worsened and reached their peak when the sun was born
04:35demonic baby.
04:42Although "baby" is not the right term. The horrible child had leather wings, a head
04:49of an equine and hooves instead of feet. The Jersey Devil soon escaped, opened
04:55It spread its wings, took flight, and shot out through the chimney of Mother Liz's house to
05:00quickly settle into the dense and mysterious Pine Barrens.
05:09Although the story sounds like a legend and nothing more, the fact that the
05:14Residents of the area have reported startling encounters with something malevolent and terrifying that
05:20They believe it is the Jersey Devil. For example, on December 14, 1925, the Bridgestone
05:26Evening News published an article titled, Canine-like beast ate 7 chickens
05:33before being shot dead and hundreds of people fail to identify the species.
05:39The article stated the following: what looked like a Jersey Devil, as much as any other
05:44The man was shot and killed near Bacon's Neck last week and was even seen in photographs.
05:51by hundreds of people over the weekend. William Hyman, who manages the old farm
05:57Glaspel, according to Barton F. Sharp, was awakened before dawn by a commotion in his henhouse,
06:02He got dressed and went out with his gun. An animal ran out of there with a chicken in its mouth.
06:08Hyman fired and the pelt flew off, but the animal kept going. Since he was up at 4 a.m.,
06:14Hyman decided to get to work. Soon, the hens called again, and he ran to see them come out.
06:21He tried the same animal with another chicken. He fired again into the darkness, but failed to kill it. This time
06:27He followed the animal to the meadows. A kilometer from the house he caught up with it again, and the animal was
06:33time
06:33He turned around and attacked him.
06:40The man shot it and it fell. It was about the size of an Airedale Terrier and had black, wrinkled fur.
06:47Its hind feet had four webbed toes. It didn't run like a dog, but hopped like a
06:53Kangaroo. Its back teeth were like spikes. The upper ones fit in the center of the four
07:00lower. His eyes were a bright gold color and his jaw did not resemble the
07:06of a canine, a wolf, or a coyote. There you have the description given by visitors to the farm.
07:13They add that, despite the time that has passed, the dead animal still shows no signs of rigor mortis.
07:18Speculation includes one that suggests it could be a starving, half-wild dog.
07:24Others suggest it's a cross between a canine and a wolf. But most of those who have seen it
07:30seen
07:30They have no conjectures to offer. It's an animal they know absolutely nothing about.
07:39Twelve years later, on July 28, 1937, the Jersey Evening Ballet entertained its readers
07:47with an article titled "The Devil Came Down to Jersey." The journalist wrote the following,
07:52Downingtown, July 28. The green countryside of Chester County was trying to return to normal today.
07:58after a whole night at home watching the 1937 version of the old Jersey Devil. Armed with
08:05guns and clubs, and led by a pack of dogs whose barking, in the moonlight,
08:11At times, a group of two dozen farmers, lined up, were almost blood-curdling.
08:15Hurriedly, they skipped sleep last night to scour the hills and fields in search
08:22of a jumping bug with enormous eyes. Sidney Ladley, a paper mill employee who lives nearby
08:28From Milford Mills, just north of here, reported the presence of the strange monster shortly after
08:34It was nine o'clock at night. Landley, his wife, and Mrs. Chester Smith, a neighbor, hurried over
08:40They arrived in the city holding their breath, recounting that they had seen the creature in a
08:44secondary road near his house, just as twilight settled over the hills.
08:50“It leaped across the road in front of my car,” Ladley said. “It was the size of a kangaroo. It was…”
08:56It was covered in ten-centimeter-long fur and hopped just like a kangaroo. —And what eyes?
09:01"And how did it jump?" added Mrs. Ladley. "Right in front of us." The descriptions
09:07They were enough. In less than half an hour, more than twenty neighboring farmers had taken theirs.
09:13Shotguns, they had unleashed their abusers and were outside in the moonlight, determined to track
09:19They followed the prowler to its lair. Unfortunately, their entire search was fruitless.
09:29—Nowadays, Jersey Devil sightings are much less frequent and chilling
09:35than in past decades. However, that doesn't mean we should let our guard down if a
09:41The day is spent in the heart of the New Jersey pine forests. The deadly beast could be lurking.
09:45hovering silently, preparing to launch a deadly attack.
09:52The X-Files, or Code X as we knew it in Argentina, has been a pioneering series in
09:58exploring themes of science fiction and the paranormal, offering viewers a glimpse of
10:03the unknown. Each episode invites us to think beyond the obvious and question
10:08our own reality. As we continue this exploration, I'd love to know
10:13Which episodes of the series impacted you the most and why? Any particular episode?
10:18Did it impact you or change your perspective? Share your experiences in the comments section.
10:24I'm going to read them all.
