00:09:37What?
00:09:43Um...
00:09:43They say you wrote letters to Jim and spent a lot of time with him.
00:09:47Why'd you run away with the guy?
00:09:48Hannah, no, I'm gonna answer this.
00:09:51Okay, it's just some crazy troll.
00:09:52Can I sit please?
00:09:59He said he would murder me.
00:10:02Does that sound like someone I'd run away with?
00:10:18Everything alright in here?
00:10:22Cass, maybe you should head home now.
00:10:24Yeah.
00:10:30Bye, Mr. A.
00:10:31See ya, kiddo.
00:10:36Dad!
00:10:36I think you should stay offline for a while.
00:10:39These people have no idea what you went through.
00:10:53I like meat, I just don't like red meat.
00:10:56How can you not like red meat? It's the Cadillac of meat.
00:10:59Because it's bad for you, and Cadillacs are for old people anyway.
00:11:04Haven't you ever heard the slogan, beef? It does a body good.
00:11:07That's milk.
00:11:09That's milk.
00:11:10Well, it should be beef.
00:11:11At least with stir fry.
00:11:15So, what classes are you gonna take this year?
00:11:18Basic core.
00:11:20Sounds like a workout.
00:11:21Something like that.
00:11:22What about geometry?
00:11:25I've aced geometry.
00:11:27That was last year, Dad.
00:11:30Right.
00:11:30Sorry.
00:11:33Here you go.
00:11:37What's wrong?
00:11:38Mom used to make the fried rice with chunks of yolk.
00:11:41It's okay, I can just...
00:11:43Dad!
00:11:43No, listen!
00:11:44Dad, it's fine.
00:11:44It's...
00:11:45It's okay, really.
00:11:48Sorry, I just feel...
00:11:51It's been so long.
00:11:55We'll be fine.
00:11:56You just...
00:11:57You need to stop trying to fix everything, okay?
00:12:01And in other news, what was once viewed as a Hollywood movie-style rescue and homecoming has now taken an
00:12:09odd turn.
00:12:09You gotta stop watching this.
00:12:10Amid the Hannah Anderson social media frenzy, Hannah herself took to a chat room tonight, holding court with moonstruck fans
00:12:18on a number of topics, including which young celebrity she'd like to date.
00:12:24Certainly, a far cry from the quiet victim we've seen portrayed since her rescue.
00:12:30And in?
00:12:32You went on a chat room?
00:12:33I just answered a few questions.
00:12:35It's none of their business.
00:12:37You should hear some of the things that they're saying.
00:12:39And talking to them will only make it worse.
00:12:42You ever think that they're just setting you up to knock you down?
00:12:45Is that why you said no to the Today Show interview?
00:12:48We need to focus on our stuff, not theirs.
00:12:52I could use help with the funeral.
00:12:56Hannah.
00:12:57The funeral.
00:12:58Next week.
00:12:59five-year E pursued after Captain Jim DiMaggio.
00:13:02Some are even suggesting a romantic link between the two, including a vacation she and DiMaggio took together,
00:13:09alone in Los Angeles.
00:13:11Back to you.
00:13:12And other news, immigration reform is on its way.
00:13:17Hannah!
00:13:28I can't let them say those things!
00:13:30No, Hannah, not like this.
00:13:32Every accusation, every question you answer, they're just going to throw two more at you.
00:13:36Did you hear what they're saying?
00:13:37Just give it time, I promise.
00:13:39That's easy for you to say.
00:13:41Hey, you're not the one being called the Lakeside Lolita!
00:14:02Hannah!
00:14:07Hannah!
00:14:08Hannah!
00:14:11Don't let them get to you.
00:14:13They're just trying to get a reaction out of you.
00:14:14Hannah!
00:14:15Any comment on reports that you were having a relationship with Jim DiMaggio?
00:14:20Wait for me.
00:14:23Excuse me.
00:14:24Come on, sir.
00:14:25Excuse me, not now.
00:14:28Come on, it's a funeral.
00:14:30Not now.
00:14:31Jim DiMaggio!
00:14:35Hannah?
00:14:35No comment.
00:14:44You probably need this, huh?
00:14:47Look, you're famous.
00:14:49I love talking about me.
00:14:51There's a big difference.
00:14:52Maybe I'll get movie offers.
00:14:55You're saying that I killed them.
00:14:58Cassie did.
00:14:59I killed my mom and Ethan.
00:15:00What?
00:15:02You're saying that Uncle Jim and I live with weed.
00:15:06How could they say those things about weed?
00:15:08Hannah?
00:15:09You okay?
00:15:11It's fine.
00:15:12Just calm down.
00:15:12It's going to be fine, okay?
00:15:17I can't.
00:15:45I can't.
00:15:50For the death of Tina and Ethan, there are no easy words.
00:15:54We are touched by this evil, and we will never be the same again.
00:15:59These senseless acts were an abomination in the eyes of God and humankind alike.
00:16:09We pray for you, Hannah, and we pray for your whole family.
00:16:14And we ask for the Lord to help you to lift the burden of this awful happening.
00:16:24And to find strength in God at this difficult time.
00:16:29Amen.
00:16:39Hey, do you guys want me to take a photo?
00:16:41Sure, sure.
00:16:42You're welcome.
00:16:45Okay, ready?
00:16:47Good.
00:16:48Okay, thanks for coming, you guys.
00:16:50You're welcome.
00:16:55Ethan loved football, loved his team.
00:16:58The season was supposed to start in two weeks.
00:17:00I just thought I'd take some Instagram photos to remember him, you know?
00:17:04I'm so sorry for your loss.
00:17:07Thank you, Agent McKinnon.
00:17:09How are you holding up?
00:17:11Okay, I suppose.
00:17:14I wouldn't let them bother you.
00:17:16It's just a lot of people talking, that's all.
00:17:20You're a strong girl, Hannah.
00:17:21And don't let anyone take away from the memory of your mother and your brother.
00:17:25I won't.
00:17:26And look, if you ever want to talk, and I mean it.
00:17:40I promise it will get better.
00:17:45Thanks for believing there's not so many of you out there anymore.
00:18:16I don't have a question before you say it.
00:18:19And then post it online.
00:18:20To remember him.
00:18:22Hannah, you have to think about how this looks to other people.
00:18:26Right.
00:18:26If I do smile, then I don't miss them.
00:18:29If I don't smile, then I'm a bitch.
00:18:30What am I supposed to do?
00:18:38I'm sorry.
00:18:41It's just a lot for me, you know?
00:18:45I know.
00:18:49I'm going to turn it off.
00:18:51Good idea.
00:18:52Somewhere so far away from San Diego that it looks like a place he escaped to.
00:18:57We'll never know all of the answers, will we?
00:19:00But I believe he ran because he had done nothing.
00:19:03Dinner's getting cold.
00:19:04Dad, come here.
00:19:05What are you saying?
00:19:07I'm saying that I remember very clearly telling Jim that I thought Hannah was trouble.
00:19:15Trouble?
00:19:16What do you mean?
00:19:18I told him he needed to watch out for her.
00:19:22Well, what specific things did Hannah do to make you so wary of her?
00:19:28She was like a puppy dog with Jim.
00:19:32Flirty, sending him pictures, just not normal things.
00:19:37Well, forgive me, but why didn't your brother just disses himself, say something to her parents?
00:19:42He was very close with the Andersons, and he only wanted to help Tina and the kids while Brett was
00:19:47in Tennessee.
00:19:48He wouldn't have wanted to add to their stress.
00:19:51Yes, that's the type of friend he was.
00:19:54Hannah knew he'd keep quiet, and she took advantage of that.
00:19:58I wouldn't put anything past her.
00:20:01What about murder?
00:20:03I wouldn't put anything past her.
00:20:06But what I know for sure is that Jim wouldn't hurt anybody.
00:20:14Anybody.
00:20:17Those are total lies, Dad.
00:20:19How can she get away with that?
00:20:20Because she can point to a girl, posting Instagram pictures, doing online chats, and say you're being flippin' about all
00:20:27of this.
00:20:28Don't dad me.
00:20:29You've got to knock it off with the selfies.
00:20:31I already warned you about all that stuff, and I shouldn't have to do it again, Hannah.
00:20:34She basically said I killed Mom and Ethan.
00:20:37Are you okay with her saying that about your daughter?
00:20:42Dad.
00:20:43Dad.
00:20:44No.
00:20:48No, I'm not okay with that at all.
00:20:51We need to fight back.
00:20:54Fight back?
00:20:56I have to answer this.
00:20:59You want the spotlight to shine even hotter, huh?
00:21:02Because if we go in that direction, there's no getting it back in the bottle.
00:21:06None.
00:21:07And the attacks are going to be even crueler.
00:21:10Are you ready for that?
00:21:12I need to tell the truth.
00:21:14It's the only thing that matters to me now.
00:21:19Call the Today Show.
00:21:21Agree to the interview.
00:21:23Please.
00:21:45We're thrilled to have you, Hannah.
00:21:47Is this your first time on TV?
00:21:48Yeah.
00:21:49You're going to be great.
00:21:51This is craft service table.
00:21:52Help yourself to anything.
00:21:53Coffee, tea, soda, whatever you'd like.
00:21:55Parker needs a copy of the rundown.
00:21:58Right this way.
00:22:06It's all right.
00:22:13Colleen Ryan.
00:22:14Miss Ryan, hi.
00:22:15Colleen, please.
00:22:17I'm so glad that you decided to come on and share your story.
00:22:21Thanks.
00:22:22How are you feeling?
00:22:23Are you okay?
00:22:23I'm just a little nervous.
00:22:25After what you've been through, this is going to seem like a walk in the park.
00:22:28You'll be fine.
00:22:30Okay.
00:22:32This.
00:22:37Mic check.
00:22:38One, two, one, two.
00:22:42Ladies, everyone.
00:22:45We're back.
00:22:46Five, four, three.
00:22:50It has been over a month since Hannah Anderson was kidnapped by the man believed to have murdered
00:22:54her mother and young brother.
00:22:56She now joins us in the studio to talk about that ordeal.
00:22:59Hannah Anderson, good morning to you.
00:23:02How are you doing today?
00:23:08Um, good.
00:23:10Tell me, why is it important for you to speak out?
00:23:15I feel like a lot of people have been judging me, judging what I went through, making up
00:23:20stuff they don't have the answers to.
00:23:22So by speaking out, you're hoping that you can put a lot of the speculation to rest?
00:23:29Silence them once and for all?
00:23:32Yeah, hopefully.
00:23:35So I want to go back to the beginning, to your family's relationship with Jim DiMaggio.
00:23:39Somebody you knew your entire life.
00:23:41What was he like?
00:23:50I'd known him since I was born.
00:23:58Ethan, get ready for dinner.
00:24:01Can you help me get some stuff from the kitchen, please?
00:24:08Uh-oh, uh-oh, who's this guy?
00:24:09Oh, gotcha, nice.
00:24:12Geez.
00:24:13Alright, hey, remember everything I taught you, right?
00:24:15Firm stance, open palm, and go for the pressure points.
00:24:20Oh, nice, nice, nice.
00:24:22What if I do that?
00:24:33Ethan, don't.
00:24:34Sorry, girl.
00:24:36Did you talk to your mom about what we talked about?
00:24:39Not yet.
00:24:40What?
00:24:41Okay, so you know how my birthday's coming up?
00:24:43Uh-huh.
00:24:43Uncle Jim invited me to go to L.A. with him.
00:24:46It's just for the weekend.
00:24:47I got a bunch of stuff I gotta take up to my sisters.
00:24:50I thought she'd come along for the ride.
00:24:52Oh, Hannah, I don't know.
00:24:54Mom, why not?
00:24:55Why don't I want my 15-year-old...
00:24:5716.
00:24:57Sorry, my 16-year-old daughter to go to Los Angeles without a parent?
00:25:02That's 130 miles away, for starters.
00:25:05She's not a little girl anymore.
00:25:07I'll talk to my daughter as I see fit.
00:25:10You don't really talk to her, you talk down to her.
00:25:12Yeah, Mom.
00:25:13She'll be with me the whole time, okay?
00:25:15I mean, you know nothing bad can happen.
00:25:18Plus, Uncle Jim taught me and Ethan self-defense, so nobody alert me.
00:25:22Well, I'll think about it.
00:25:24That means no.
00:25:25It means I'll think about it.
00:25:27Dad would have said yes already.
00:25:28Really?
00:25:29You're gonna go there?
00:25:30Whatever.
00:25:31Hannah.
00:25:33You never let me do anything.
00:25:34Hannah!
00:25:40Don't ever tell me how to raise my daughter.
00:25:44Ever.
00:25:47Not long after, we found out that Uncle Jim had lost his job,
00:25:51and probably his house.
00:25:53I didn't know when I'd see him again, so Mom let me go.
00:25:58One last trip with Uncle Jim.
00:26:11Look at this.
00:26:13Must be awesome to be loved by so many people.
00:26:16Well, people love talking about them, but there's a big difference.
00:26:20Spencer Tracy, who's that?
00:26:21Oh, he's just an old-time movie star from way back in the old days.
00:26:26Like the 90s?
00:26:27Yeah, before that.
00:26:29Ah.
00:26:30Who you got?
00:26:31No one.
00:26:32This is gonna be mine someday.
00:26:33Oh, really?
00:26:34Mm-hmm.
00:26:34You want that kind of attention, huh?
00:26:37Are you kidding?
00:26:38Who wouldn't want to be famous?
00:26:40All right.
00:26:40Well, here.
00:26:40Let me.
00:26:43There you go.
00:26:43Come on.
00:26:43Really work it.
00:26:44All right?
00:26:46There you go.
00:26:46Nice.
00:26:47Like this?
00:26:48Yeah, yeah.
00:26:49Keep going.
00:26:49That's good.
00:26:50That's good.
00:26:51Arch your back a little.
00:26:52That's fine.
00:26:53That's good.
00:26:55Nice.
00:26:56Okay, let me see.
00:26:57That's okay.
00:26:57What?
00:26:59What?
00:26:59Who you sent it to?
00:27:00It's Ram.
00:27:01Dylan's gonna freak when he sees these.
00:27:04Is Dylan like a boyfriend or something?
00:27:06More like a friend-friend.
00:27:18Is that Jake Gyllenhaal sitting over there with Channing Tatum?
00:27:23You're bad.
00:27:25This food is so good.
00:27:27My mom cooks like the same five things over and over.
00:27:30At least my dad used to have a little variety.
00:27:33How's your dad doing anyway?
00:27:34You talked to him recently?
00:27:36My mom says they're taking time apart, but being 2,000 miles away isn't helping.
00:27:40Right, right.
00:27:41You and Ethan hanging in?
00:27:43He's still so little.
00:27:44Thinks everything's fine.
00:27:46And you?
00:27:48Great.
00:27:48I love watching my family fall apart.
00:27:51You shouldn't have to deal with those kinds of things.
00:27:53You should be free doing what you want to do.
00:27:55You know, doing what feels good.
00:27:58Tell that to my mom.
00:27:59She doesn't get along with anyone.
00:28:01My dad's side of the family won't even talk to her.
00:28:03She's just so...
00:28:05I don't even know anymore.
00:28:07Well, you've got me.
00:28:11Yeah.
00:28:12But for how long?
00:28:14I mean, who knows where you'll end up.
00:28:16Well, let's not worry about that now.
00:28:18I'm just enjoying the moment.
00:28:20Yeah.
00:28:25I was just thinking, you know, if you were a little older or if we were the same age or...
00:28:32What?
00:28:33I know.
00:28:33It's funny, right?
00:28:35It's just, uh...
00:28:36I was thinking like I...
00:28:41I have a crush on you.
00:28:45What do you mean?
00:28:46No, like a family thing.
00:28:47Like, like I care about you.
00:28:54Dylan just liked the photo.
00:28:55Oh, of course he did.
00:29:02I'm trying to have a conversation here.
00:29:04I'll just take one second.
00:29:05Yeah.
00:29:06Well, whatever you're texting or posting, that can wait till later.
00:29:09Okay.
00:29:10Not as much.
00:29:11Hey, you know, I'm trying to open up to you here.
00:29:14I mean, the least you could do is listen, right?
00:29:16I mean, is Dylan ever taking you to Hollywood?
00:29:20Why are you doing this?
00:29:22Oh, now I'm doing something.
00:29:24But it looks to me like you're the one being a little bit ungrateful.
00:29:30Can I have my phone back, please?
00:29:36Let's get out of here.
00:29:37Go where?
00:29:38My sisters, I'm done here.
00:29:40Wait, but why?
00:29:41Because I damn said so, that's why.
00:29:46Come on.
00:29:47It seemed kind of really weird.
00:29:49Did you ever tell anyone what happened in Los Angeles?
00:29:52What he said to you?
00:29:54Why not?
00:29:56Because my dad and him were best friends,
00:29:58so I didn't want to ruin things between them.
00:30:07It's been two days and you haven't said a word about your trip with Uncle Jim.
00:30:11What's to say?
00:30:13Well, was it fun?
00:30:15Lovely, yeah.
00:30:17She was crying in her room today.
00:30:19Shut your pie hole, Ethan.
00:30:20Be nice to your brother, Hannah.
00:30:23Look, kids, I know it hasn't been easy,
00:30:25but Uncle Jim really has been a big help since your dad left.
00:30:28He never just left left.
00:30:30He's working and he's trying to hold this family together,
00:30:32which is more than I can say for you.
00:30:34We're all trying, Hannah.
00:30:37Maybe I should just live with him.
00:30:40Look, I know you don't think I know what you're going through,
00:30:44but I do.
00:30:45Trust me, you don't.
00:30:46Well, then tell me, please.
00:30:48How can I help you if you don't tell me anything?
00:30:51Dad'll be back soon, right?
00:30:53Yeah, right.
00:30:54Hannah!
00:30:55What? Be real with the kid.
00:30:56He deserves to know the truth.
00:30:57Ethan, honey.
00:31:00Look, Uncle Jim invited us over one last time before he moves on Saturday,
00:31:04so you better get that attitude in check
00:31:06or you and I are going to have a major problem.
00:31:08I can't. I have cheer camp.
00:31:09Well, then you'll go after camp.
00:31:11Have I made myself clear?
00:31:29Well, let's talk about the first day, that Saturday.
00:31:31You were at cheerleading camp?
00:31:34Yeah, my cheer girls who I coach had camp at Sweetwater High,
00:31:38so my mom dropped me off.
00:32:02See you later.
00:32:04Bye.
00:32:08Jim picked me up because my brother's game had already finished,
00:32:11so they were going to meet us up there at his house.
00:32:14And when he picked you up, did everything seem ordinary?
00:32:18Yeah, it was perfectly normal.
00:32:20Everything was fine.
00:32:27The girls must be getting pretty good.
00:32:29They're working really hard.
00:32:30Are you enjoying it?
00:32:31Yeah, I like helping them.
00:32:33Yeah, it's important to have something in your life that you love, you know?
00:32:38Yeah.
00:32:41So listen, I wanted to apologize about what happened in L.A., the way everything went down,
00:32:46you know, some of the things I said.
00:32:49It's just that there's been a lot of stress with the move and everything, but I shouldn't have done it.
00:32:57Don't worry about it.
00:32:58You sure?
00:32:58Because I felt bad afterwards.
00:33:00It's fine.

00:33:05It means a lot to me.
00:33:08So at what point do you realize that something is really wrong?
00:33:12When we got to the house and my mom's car wasn't there.
00:33:28Where's my mom's car?
00:33:30Oh, you know, Ethan probably went next door to play with the kids.

00:41:04Oh, boy.
00:41:08Well, the main house is pretty much destroyed.
00:41:10Luckily, the firefighters were able to stop it before it destroyed the garage, too.
00:41:14Does your arson investigator have any idea what happened?
00:41:17Accident? Faulty wiring, maybe?
00:41:20You need to see this.
00:41:27Firefighters discovered this when they made entry.
00:41:35My God.
00:41:37Female. Late 30s, early 40s. I'm working on the ID now.
00:41:41She the homeowner?
00:41:42I'm working on it.
00:41:52This is Brett.
00:41:56Jim's house?

00:42:04I'll check it out. Thanks for the heads up.
00:42:06We'll kick it down.
00:42:22I'll check it out.
00:42:28I've got some pressions.
00:42:35I'll check it out.
00:42:36I'm OK.
00:42:44Come on, come on.
00:42:51Hey, Tina, it's me.
00:42:54I think something horrible might have happened to Jim.
00:42:56Can you please call me when you get this?
00:43:29Thank you for coming.
00:43:32On August 4th, deputies and fire personnel responded to a structure fire
00:43:38in the unincorporated community of Boulevard.
00:43:41They entered the structure and found a body inside.
00:43:46The victim has been identified as Christina Anderson,
00:43:50and it has been determined that Ms. Anderson had been murdered.
00:43:55Sheriff and arson investigators searched through the rubble
00:43:58of one of the burned buildings on the property
00:44:01and found the remains of a child.
00:44:04The child's identity has not been determined at this time.
00:44:09The suspect in this murder and arson
00:44:12has been identified as James Lee DiMaggio,
00:44:16the 40-year-old owner of the residence.
00:44:19Upon an extensive search of the property,
00:44:22bomb and arson investigators located a number of explosives,
00:44:25apparently homemade by DiMaggio,
00:44:28that had been set up to 24 hours prior to detonation.
00:44:33The location of Ms. Anderson's children,
00:44:3716-year-old Hannah Anderson
00:44:41and 8-year-old Ethan Anderson,
00:44:47is unknown.
00:44:50It is believed that one or both of the children
00:44:53have been abducted by DiMaggio,
00:44:55whose whereabouts are also unknown.
00:44:58An Amber Alert has been activated
00:45:00in the hopes that the children and DiMaggio
00:45:02can be located.
00:45:03DiMaggio is believed to be driving a blue Nissan Versa,
00:45:07California license plate 6-W-C-U-9-8-6.
00:45:16The San Diego County Sheriff's Office
00:45:19is going to be working in conjunction
00:45:21with Agent Frank McKinnon of the FBI,
00:45:24who will be heading up our search
00:45:27for DiMaggio and the children.
00:45:30now if you have any questions,
00:45:32I'd be happy to try and answer.
00:45:33Was there anyone else in the house?
00:45:34No one else in the house?
00:45:35Lieutenant, how's the tenant over here?
00:45:37Wait!
00:46:01Hi.
00:46:03He was your friend.
00:46:05Sir.
00:46:05None of this would have happened if you'd been here.
00:46:08Honey, honey, come on now.
00:46:09You know, it's done.
00:46:11Can't we just put everything back to order
00:46:13and just worry about finding the kids?
00:46:20Come on, Brett.
00:46:22Put on a decent shirt.
00:46:24Look like a responsible father.
00:46:27Mr. Anderson?
00:46:28Yeah.
00:46:29I'm Special Agent Frank McKinnon.
00:46:31Oh, yeah.
00:46:32Glenn said you'd be coming by.
00:46:34Mr. Anderson, can I have a word with you in private?
00:46:39Yeah.
00:46:45You'll have to excuse my in-laws.
00:46:47Things haven't exactly been the best between us lately.
00:46:51I need to tell you something, and it's going to be very painful.
00:46:56What is it?
00:46:59We're still waiting on a dental match, but it's almost certain that the second body found in the house was
00:47:05Ethan.
00:47:09The press conference, the guy, the detective, he said he didn't know, right?
00:47:14I know, but our medical examiner is pretty certain that the dental records will confirm it.
00:47:20I'm sorry.
00:47:22No, I'm not Ethan.
00:47:30I don't understand this.
00:47:33Jim was my friend.
00:47:34He was our friend.
00:47:35I just asked him to watch out for the family while I was gone.
00:47:39He'd check in once in a while.
00:47:41Why would he do this?
00:47:45We found a box in his house full of 8x10 glossies of Hannah, printed from various websites, social media, that
00:47:54sort of thing.
00:47:55A lot of the photos could be considered a little suggestive.
00:48:02Oh, God.
00:48:06I'm going to bring your daughter back to you.
00:48:10I feel that in my heart, and you have my word.
00:48:49I feel like I'm stupid.
00:49:16Hey, here you go, boys.
00:49:20Now, come on.
00:49:21It's on the house.
00:49:23Have a great one.
00:49:24See you.
00:49:37You help me and I'll help you.
00:49:40Here's me.
00:49:41What can I get for you?
00:49:42Oh, uh, just these.
00:49:58Help.
00:50:00Help.
00:50:01Are you going camping?
00:50:03You know, personally, I absolutely hate the dried fruit.
00:50:06It tastes like plastic.
00:50:08Give me a candy bar any day of the week, right?
00:50:23That'll be, uh, 1835.
00:50:28Sir?
00:50:29That's it.
00:50:30It's 1835.
00:50:3350.
00:50:46I think jam's on me.
00:50:48I'm sorry.
00:50:50I'm just telling my manager I've got to get a new one.
00:50:52One second.
00:50:53I've just got to jimmy it.
00:50:54Oh, God.
00:50:54I'm sorry.
00:50:55This thing's always...
00:50:58Oh, my God.
00:51:00Oh, God.
00:51:14What do you think you're doing?
00:51:16You could have gotten hurt.
00:51:20Oh, God.
00:51:22Oh, God.
00:51:24Oh, God.
00:51:29Oh, God.
00:51:30Oh, God.
00:51:33Oh, God.
00:51:40Someone who's looking out for us is truly meant to be.
00:51:44So, I guess it was.
00:51:54The following is a Fox News alert.
00:51:56A massive manhunt is still going on this morning for this man.
00:52:01Suspected killer James Lee DiMaggio and two children he may have abducted,
00:52:06Hannah and Ethan Anderson,
00:52:08The two children of Christina Anderson who was found dead in DiMaggio's scorched California
00:52:13home.
00:52:14At this hour, an Amber Alert is still in effect for 16-year-old Hannah and 8-year-old Ethan.
00:52:20Joining me now is the father of these two missing children, Brett Anderson.
00:52:25Good morning to you, sir.
00:52:27Good morning to you, sir.
00:52:28As a parent, as a human being, I can't imagine the pain you must be going through.
00:52:34You've lost your wife.
00:52:36You don't know what's happened to your two children, and you weren't there to really know the details.
00:52:41Tell me, what do you think happened on Saturday?
00:52:44All I know is that he killed my wife, most likely my son.
00:52:50We're just waiting on the DNA test, and he took my daughter.
00:52:56If Jim DiMaggio is listening, is there anything you would like to say to him?
00:53:01Tell him, the damage has been done.
00:53:06Get your head together, and let my daughter go.
00:53:11Let her come home to me.
00:53:16You were leaving.
00:53:19They got several sightings up in Nevada.
00:53:22You know, I just keep imagining this was Becca, you know?
00:53:30They found large trash bags in the attic of this guy's garage.
00:53:35Receipts, boxes of handcuffs.
00:53:38Apparently he's been planning this for weeks.
00:53:40Oh, my God.
00:53:43I promised her father I'd get her back, Nick.
00:53:47And you will.
00:54:05Where do you think Jim and Hannah are right now?
00:54:07Are there signs of violence over to Demagia before all this happened?
00:54:10Is the search expanding?
00:54:11Mr. Anderson, is it true that Hannah and Demagia were texting each other extensively on the day of the murders
00:54:17and the abduction?
00:54:18Mr. Anderson, we will not be commenting on my daughter tonight.
00:54:22Please respect that decision.
00:54:28Hi.
00:54:29Hi.
00:54:31Father.
00:54:39I can't say how much it means to me, to us, to see you all out here supporting Hannah.
00:54:49Tonight, each one of you is a member of her family.
00:54:54And I know my daughter isn't here right now, but I believe, and I know each one of you believes,
00:55:03that we will see her smiling face again soon.
00:55:08And to my beautiful wife
00:55:14And son,
00:55:17I will love you both forever.
00:55:22And I will see you someday in heaven.

00:59:48You're young, you're athletic, you can do it.
00:59:50Look, Jim, please.
00:59:51It'll flatten out once we get around this bend.

01:00:22Listen, I promise we'll get this thing wrapped once we make camp, okay?
01:00:25But right now, we've just got to keep moving, all right?
01:00:27Just hang on a second.
01:00:29Can you stand for two seconds?
01:00:32All right, come here, come here.
01:00:34All right, nice and easy, nice and easy.
01:00:35Come on, come on.
01:00:38In all of that time, was there ever a moment where you thought,
01:00:43maybe I can make a run for it, maybe I can escape?
01:00:46Yeah, a lot, but he had a gun and threatened to kill me
01:00:50or anyone else who tried to help.
01:00:58Yeah, let's go.
01:01:17Shh.
01:01:29Anna?
01:01:30Don't.
01:01:33What are you doing?
01:01:35It's over.
01:01:36Whatever you think this is, whatever you have planned, I'm going home.
01:01:41What are you going to do, shoot me?
01:01:45If I have to.
01:01:47Then go ahead, shoot me.
01:02:03Finally, you want to play.
01:02:07Five and six, remember?
01:02:09It's fully loaded.
01:02:10Well, then I guess I'm screwed.
01:02:13I don't want to be here anymore.
01:02:14I want to go home.
01:02:16Well, then pull the trigger and you can do anything you want to do.
01:02:22Hell, you can drive to Tennessee and be with your father if you want to.
01:02:26You need gas money?
01:02:27More than enough.
01:02:31All you got to do is kill me.
01:02:39Do it!
01:02:42He can't.
01:03:02No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
01:03:03no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
01:03:03no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
01:03:04no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
01:03:04no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
01:03:04no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
01:03:22You should eat something.
01:03:26I'm fine, thanks.
01:03:31You're not doing her any good if you pass out from hunger or exhaustion.
01:03:36When's the last time you slept?
01:03:39What day is it?
01:03:47I'm trying to funnel some tips to Agent McKinnon.
01:03:50I just still feel so helpless.
01:03:54He likes to go to the middle of nowhere,
01:03:56so that narrows it down to only 20,000 square miles.
01:04:06What if they don't find her?
01:04:11No, no.
01:04:12That Agent looked me in the eye and he made me a promise.
01:04:21You were right, Sarah.
01:04:23I never should have left.
01:04:25I should have stayed.
01:04:27I should have been more of a father.
01:04:33I know what I said.
01:04:36It was just emotions.
01:04:41And you know, I'm sorry.
01:04:43I am.
01:04:48I know you were a good father.
01:04:53Now, you're gonna eat that food.
01:04:57Okay.
01:04:58And I'm gonna see you in the morning, okay?
01:05:02Thanks.
01:05:12Now, at one point in the middle of the week,
01:05:15you and Jim ran into four people on horseback.
01:05:17What happened?
01:05:20I'm not sure what happened.
01:05:22I'm not sure what happened.
01:05:23I'm not sure what I'm saying.
01:05:25I'm not saying it would be exactly like the United States.
01:05:29I'm not saying it would be exactly like the United States.
01:05:32I'm not saying it isn't it.
01:05:34If you do it, Idaho can be very self-sufficient.
01:05:37That's it.
01:05:38Mark, where would we live off of potatoes?
01:05:42Yeah, great news.
01:05:43Yep, we could do that.
01:05:44And we could also have trade partners just like the U.S.
01:05:49Keep quiet or I'll have to kill them. Is that what you want?
01:05:52No.
01:05:53All right, will you let me do the talking?
01:05:57Hey there. Nice day for a ride.
01:06:00Yeah, a little bit warm, but we're okay.
01:06:03Mr. Donner?
01:06:04Yep. Spending some quality time with my baby girl. They grow up so fast.
01:06:09Where are y'all headed?
01:06:11You know you're in one of the most godforsaken places on God's green earth.
01:06:14And your baby girl there, she's dressed up like she's heading to a slumber party.
01:06:18Yeah, we're heading over to Moorhead Lake.
01:06:21Well, you know, if you're headed to the lake, you're heading the wrong direction.
01:06:24Moorhead's about five miles back that way.
01:06:28Where are you from? We hardly ever see anybody up here.
01:06:31Texas.
01:06:33You don't have an accent.
01:06:35No, actually, that's not the first time I've heard that. Right, sweetie?
01:06:39Yeah.
01:06:41Anyway, morning to you.
01:06:43We didn't catch your name.
01:06:44Dan and Laura.
01:06:47Well, Dan and Laura, it's a pleasure to meet you two.
01:06:49I'm Mark. This is my wife Krista.
01:06:51And this here are the Youngs, Mike and Mary.
01:06:53Hi.
01:06:54Nice to meet you. Have a nice day.
01:06:57Dan, I'd be careful with that tent.
01:07:00That tree there would be a pretty good lightning rod in a storm.
01:07:04Thank you, sir, for the warning.
01:07:06We'll heed that. Thank you.
01:07:07Take care.
01:07:15And when they walked away and nothing happened, did you think that that was it?
01:07:21There went my chance?
01:07:29I know what you were doing today.
01:07:31What?
01:07:32You were signaling to them.
01:07:34No.
01:07:35Don't you lie to me!
01:07:36I'm not lying to you.
01:07:37You think I don't hurt too?
01:07:39You don't think I feel pain?
01:07:42It's not pain my whole life.
01:07:43The worst kind of pain.
01:07:46And now I am so close to getting away from it.
01:08:16Why do you want to mess this all up first?
01:08:21Why do you want to ruin it for us, huh?
01:08:23Why?
01:08:25Because I'm scared.
01:08:31Anna.
01:08:32Anna.
01:08:33Anna.
01:08:34Anna.
01:08:36Everything's going to be okay.
01:08:44Anna.
01:08:50Why are you looking at me that way?
01:08:54I'm not a monster.
01:08:57Everything I have done has been for us.
01:09:01Do you hear me?
01:09:03Everything!
01:09:07Okay, you just, you just, you just wait till we get to the lake tomorrow.
01:09:11Okay?
01:09:12Okay?
01:09:13I'm hungry.
01:09:15Just.
01:09:16I'm hungry.
01:09:16Just.
01:09:27Hey, McKinnon.
01:09:28Listen, we're going to head across the street for some bat sushi.
01:09:31Why don't you take a break and come join us?
01:09:33Ah, I had salmonella for breakfast.
01:09:35Okay, I'll get your doggy bag.
01:09:37Hey, Jernigan.
01:09:38You hear about this guy DiMaggio's father?
01:09:41Yeah, yeah.
01:09:42You mean about when he broke into that 17-year-old girl's house?
01:09:44Yeah.
01:09:44In 1989, brings in a sawed-off shotgun, threatened to kill her and her family.
01:09:48Like father, like son?
01:09:50Yeah, but get this.
01:09:51Six years later, he takes off for the desert, kills himself.
01:09:56Crazy.
01:09:57And that was 18 years ago this week.
01:10:01So what do you got?
01:10:03You know, I got a feeling Uncle Jim never planned on this being a round trip.
01:10:09No, he knew exactly what he was coming up here to do.
01:10:13Which means we're running out of time.
01:10:43No, he knew exactly what he was coming up here.
01:10:58Well, hello again.
01:10:59Glad to see you found your way.
01:11:02Lake's not far from here.
01:11:06Everything okay, honey?
01:11:07You look a little spooked.
01:11:09She's just a little tired.
01:11:10I think we overdid it a little yesterday, you know?
01:11:13Is that it?
01:11:14You just a little tired?
01:11:16Yeah.
01:11:18A little grillish.
01:11:19She's looking kind of rough.
01:11:20Inigo, maybe you two ought to think about heading out of here.
01:11:23There is a ranger station about two miles back up the trail here.
01:11:26You know the area pretty good, huh?
01:11:28You used to be sheriff.
01:11:30No kidding.
01:11:30Sheriff, huh?
01:11:33I'm tired now.
01:11:35But, uh, yep, we do head up this parts about two, three times a year.
01:11:40We can take you to the ranger station if you want.
01:11:43Oh, that's really not necessary, but thanks.
01:11:46Might not be a bad idea.
01:11:48Your daughter's looking pretty bad.
01:11:50No, we're fine, really.
01:11:53You really don't know your way around these woods very well.
01:11:55Your daughter's dressed in her pajamas, and, uh, you set your tent up like a lightning rod.
01:11:59And those boots you're wearing, not exactly suited for this particular terrain.
01:12:05Now tell me, why are you really out here, Dan?
01:12:11It was my idea.
01:12:13It's kind of funny, actually.
01:12:15Last year, he picked, and we went to Hollywood.
01:12:18This year, I said I wanted to go camping by the lake.
01:12:22I guess we're not really good at it.
01:12:25No, not really.
01:12:28Which way did you say the ranger station was?
01:12:33Back that way, about two miles.
01:12:35Guess we'll head there in a bit.
01:12:38Um, I think I'm going to stay out here a little bit longer.
01:12:42It's so peaceful, you know?
01:12:46What do you think, Dad?
01:12:48Hey, I can stay out here a little longer.
01:12:56All right.
01:12:57Well, you two have yourself a fine day, and I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.
01:13:13Take care, now.
01:13:17Looks like we're all in trouble now.
01:13:21Jerry?
01:13:23Yeah?
01:13:24Really when?
01:13:26Okay, we're on our way.
01:13:28Hey, McKinnon.
01:13:28Yeah?
01:13:29Four hikers just reported seeing our girl in Idaho.
01:13:33Looks like we're going to Idaho.
01:13:49Amazing here.
01:13:50Anything yet?
01:13:52That's a pretty big park, Captain.
01:13:53I'll let you know if I see anything.
01:13:54All right, talk soon.
01:13:55Over.
01:13:56Term showed.
01:13:57Madame, over.
01:13:58Over.
01:13:59Over.
01:14:04Over.
01:14:06Over.
01:14:29This is Mason, we got a situation here.
01:14:47How are you?
01:14:49Hey.
01:14:53How do I look like I'm doing?
01:14:55I'm starving, I'm shaking, I'm barely walking.
01:14:58Ah, you're alive and you're with someone who cares about you.
01:15:02Stop!
01:15:03Is this what caring about someone looks like?
01:15:05Do I look happy, content?
01:15:07Hannah.
01:15:08No, I really want to know, is this the great life you had planned?
01:15:11Getting lost in the woods, looking for some stupid lake, taking backpacks up and down mountains.
01:15:16Is this really what you wanted?
01:15:18Did you even have a plan?
01:15:20Don't.
01:15:20No, because I'm not so sure about that anymore.
01:15:23I said, don't.
01:15:52Come here.
01:15:55You're drunk.
01:15:57You're drunk.
01:16:00Come here.
01:16:05Get in.
01:16:08Get in.
01:16:10Get in.
01:16:16Oh, my God.
01:16:50Oh, my God.
01:17:12Pan the camera ten degrees to the left.
01:17:19Gotcha.
01:17:21What are you doing?
01:17:22Building a fire.
01:17:23Now?
01:17:24We have to act natural.
01:17:25We have to show them we're just a couple of normal campers.
01:17:29Go find some fire.
01:17:30This is Idaho 260.
01:17:32I got a positive on the campsite.
01:17:33Over.
01:17:33You have a visual on the suspect.
01:17:35Over.
01:17:37Affirmative.
01:17:41Wait a minute.
01:17:43She's flagging us down.
01:17:45Repeat.
01:17:46Anderson is flagging for help.
01:17:48Copy that.
01:17:48Idaho 260.
01:17:49Rescue team is on route.
01:17:58What are you doing?
01:18:01Nothing.
01:18:02Don't get some wood, would you?
01:18:03We've got to build this park.
01:18:10This is where the camp was spotted, here.
01:18:12I want the hostage rescue team up here to surround the area.
01:18:16Make sure we're in position before anybody makes a move.
01:18:19There's an aircraft overhead keeping an eye on the scene, but there's a lot of wilderness
01:18:22here, and I don't want to lose them.
01:18:24Now, remember, he has a hostage with him, a 16-year-old girl.
01:18:28Make sure you know where she is at all times.
01:18:30Am I clear?
01:18:31Yes, sir.
01:18:32All right, move out.
01:18:33Move out.
01:18:47Why do you look like that?
01:18:48Like what?
01:18:49Like that, like you're scared.
01:18:53Because you're acting crazy, Uncle Jim.
01:18:56Because I want to go home.
01:18:57No, no, I told you.
01:18:58You don't have to be afraid when you're with me.
01:19:01Okay?
01:19:01Okay, nothing bad can happen to you.
01:19:03You said you wanted us to be together, right?
01:19:05Well, that can't happen if we die out here.
01:19:07We're lost, and we need help.
01:19:31I read in a book that if you, if you fire your gun in the air three times, it means
01:19:36SOS.
01:19:37That way somebody can find us.
01:19:43Oh, okay.
01:19:46Like this, huh?
01:19:47Huh?
01:19:51Is that what you wanted me to do so that maybe the cavalry will come?
01:19:59Oh, I know you're watching me, and I know what you're thinking.
01:20:05Old Fast, wait for my order.
01:20:07We're going to send old Uncle Jim to jail.
01:20:09Oh, yes.
01:20:10But that's not going to happen.
01:20:12I'm going to walk out of here with my girl.
01:20:16I'm going to walk right out of here with my girl and make a life.
01:20:22You hear me?
01:20:23I'm going to walk right out of here with my girl and make a life.
01:20:29Oh, Jim.
01:20:29Please stop it, okay?
01:20:30They will kill you.
01:20:33This wasn't supposed to happen this way.
01:20:36I promise you we were going to find the lake, and we were going to be happy.
01:20:40We were going to be happy.
01:20:42Just put the gun down.
01:20:47Get down.
01:20:49Uncle Jim.
01:20:52Now.
01:21:11Get ready to move in.
01:21:37What?
01:21:38You don't want to play?
01:21:41You don't want to play?
01:21:41Come on.
01:21:59You don't want to play?
01:22:18Hannah, when did you realize this is it, this is my rescue?
01:22:23When they pulled me aside and wrapped a blanket around me and made sure I was okay.
01:22:56I'm going to run these over to the sheriff's station.
01:22:59Want any help?
01:23:00No, I'm good.
01:23:00Thanks.
01:23:01Yeah.
01:23:01Brett!
01:23:02Yes!
01:23:03Yes!
01:23:07Miss Anderson, we found Hannah.
01:23:17Do you remember the hikers?
01:23:19Yeah.
01:23:20Well, what if I told you they were here?
01:23:22Would you like to meet them?
01:23:24Sure.
01:23:29Nice to meet you.
01:23:31We have brought a hat for you from Idaho.
01:23:36I understand.
01:23:38Thanks.
01:23:39Well, Hannah, thank you so much for trusting us with your story.
01:23:42I hope that this is the beginning of a lot of healing for you.
01:23:46How do you feel now, kiddo?
01:23:48Now that I finally told the real story, it can finally be over.
01:24:04I'm standing up, I'm speaking out, let everybody hear.
01:24:15I'm standing up, I'm speaking out, let everybody hear.
01:24:25Entire
01:24:26I'm strong enough to carry on.
01:24:29I'm brave enough to grow.
01:24:31The darkest days get left behind if you choose to let them go.
01:24:36You're strong enough to face it all when you know your heart is true
01:24:51You are on the road that leads you home
01:25:03It's never really over, so I take it day to day
01:25:14With courage and belief, I take it all head on
01:25:19But it's hard to face it, tough to come to grips with what goes on
01:25:24Still I'm brave enough to look and see what everybody says
01:25:30And deep inside I know they're never gonna get the best of me
01:25:35I'm strong enough to carry on, I'm brave enough to grow
01:25:40Cause the darkest days get left behind if you choose to let them go
01:25:45I'm strong enough to face it all cause I know my heart is true
01:26:08I'm on the road that leads me home
01:26:15I'm strong enough to work with power
01:26:45And now I know my heart is true
