00:26shared a watertight understanding and conducted joint patrols to ensure safe passage through
00:33the strait.
00:34He added that ASEAN is entirely based on consensus and even at the subcommittee level, everything
00:41is based on consensus.
00:42His remarks came amid prolonged uncertainty over the geopolitical developments in West
00:47Asia with potential impacts that could increase the risks to passage in other maritime choke
00:53points, including the Straits of Malacca.
00:55He also said Malaysia would continue to empower the zone of peace, freedom, and neutrality
01:02and prioritize ASEAN centrality in navigating an increasingly complex global landscape.
