00:00I didn't think I was going to make it to 21. You know what I mean? And 22. I mean,
00:03this is how much I was going. It was kind of like an inside joke. You know what I mean?
00:07Like, which obviously, looking back, it's not that funny. But I mean, I think my younger self would obviously be
00:15very, very proud of where I'm at. Because again, is when I was young, like the full, like high level
00:21overview for my story is like when I was young, man, I was a very outgoing, loving, caring, kind kid.
00:26You know what I mean? That was very happy.
00:27And it wasn't until about 12 or 13 years old when I started to struggle with OCD. I mean, to
00:33a very serious point where I'd wash my hands till they'd bleed and I'd have to put neoprene gloves on
00:37or put neosporin on. You know, that light started to dim. And that's really kind of where the journey started.
00:43And I share this often now is at 12 or 13 years old, ever before picking up a drink or
00:48drug, it's like I struggled with addiction because I was living a double life. So, you know, on the outside,
00:52everybody's like, oh, this kid's good at sports. He's popular. He's got a girlfriend. You know, he's like fit the
00:56mold with everything.
00:57But like come back in behind closed doors. I'm like, mom and dad, you know, I'm struggling who were very
01:01supportive and stuff like that. Put the neoprene gloves on and go see a therapist and psychiatrist.
01:05And, you know, I was put on medication. It helped mitigate the symptoms, but never dealt with the underlying issues.
01:10And then, you know, down the road, I find alcohol.
01:13But it was this double life that I was living ever before I picked up a drink or a drug.
01:16And so trying to navigate that, you're going through puberty, you're growing, you know, mentally and emotionally.
01:21And then obviously, you know, as you get into the latter years of the TV stuff happens, now you're in
01:25the most impressionable time of your year. You're like 17, 18, 19.
01:29You have all this stuff that, you know, that was trying to be dealt with, but in the 90s, didn't
01:34really know how to communicate it or early 2000s.
