00:00Under Clause 5D of Rule 20, the chair announces to the House that in light of the passing
00:09of the gentleman from Georgia, Mr. David Scott, the whole number of the House is 430.
00:24For what purpose does the gentleman from Kentucky seek recognition?
00:29Madam Speaker, I yield myself as much time as I may consume.
00:32The gentleman from Kentucky is recognized.
00:34Thank you, Madam Speaker.
00:36Before I begin my remarks, I didn't hear until you just announced that David Scott had passed.
00:41And what a wonderful man from the great state of Georgia.
00:45The resolution is from a new friend from Georgia.
00:49David was always, either he was married to Hank Aaron's sister, or Hank Aaron was married
00:54to his sister, I can't remember, but he and Hank Aaron were brother-in-laws.
00:58And I told him one time that my son loved collecting baseballs.
01:01And, of course, one of the most valuable ones you could ever have is Hank Aaron's.
01:04And he brought one to me one day.
01:06And so, I didn't know him that well, but he was one of those kind of guys, you mention something
01:11like that to you, he would remember it and make sure he took care of you.
01:15And he will be, he's a gentleman, and he'll be missed.
01:18But also, while I have the floor, and I'll get into my remarks, David McKinley, who was
01:24a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, a very valuable member of the Energy and Commerce
01:28Committee, very serious.
01:29He was an engineer, he acted like an engineer, and he was a great engineer, but a great person
01:34with a great heart.
01:35And he passed away last week.
01:38I think his services are this coming Monday.
01:40And I think that it's, you know, we get to serve as some really wonderful people, and
01:45none more than David McKinley.
01:47And to the level that I knew Mr. Scott, he was a wonderful man, too.
01:50So, thank you, Madam Speaker, for that indulgence.
