00:00Well, it was a bad day in Europe, I would say, for Israel.
00:03And what's prompted the outrage, of course, is the desecration of a statue of Jesus by an IDF soldier.
00:11And the Belgium foreign minister, as well as the Polish foreign minister, both were on social media and they were
00:20making their concerns felt.
00:22And what was really quite interesting is that unlike in previous moments, we can see the picture there.
00:30On screen.
00:31But in previous moments, we would have a foreign government representative speaking to the Israeli government, asking for something to
00:41be examined to make sure that there are repercussions for an individual.
00:46But in this particular case, both the Belgium and Polish foreign ministers, you know, are pushing for the EU to
00:56come out with some strong language,
00:58but also to start to reevaluate the relationships, either the economic and or the military relationships that the EU has
01:09with Israel.
01:10Israel, I think, is damaging itself globally on the world stage when it comes to actions like this,
01:19because traditionally what would happen is that Israel would say that they would investigate.
01:24And then, of course, we know that nothing would come of it.
01:27And I don't know how Israel can be allowed to investigate one of its own and then everybody would just
01:33accept that.
01:34But that was pretty much the status quo.
01:36Now, however, that's not the case.
01:39You have these two foreign ministers speaking up and asking for, you know, the EU to actually play a more
01:48active part in making sure that there are true repercussions.
01:52The other issue that has come out today as well is that the new or soon to be Hungarian prime
02:01minister has said that he will abide by his country, will abide by the ICC ruling.
02:07And that if Prime Minister Netanyahu were to fly into Hungary, he would be arrested.
02:13Now, in the past, Netanyahu has had two allies where he could go.
02:19He could go to Hungary and visit Viktor Orban, or he can go to the U.S. and visit Donald
02:26Trump.
02:26In both those countries, he would not be arrested because those countries had said that they would not abide by
02:33the International Criminal Court ruling.
02:35But the soon to be in office Hungarian prime minister has said that he will abide by it.
02:43So it's been a bit of a rough day for the Israelis in Europe.
02:49Thank you very much.
