08:50So, we've got to be pretty careful when we get this one back.
08:54As you can see, it's the top of the rock here poking out of the water.
08:58The bull kelp's sort of sitting on top of it.
09:03So, that's just a bit of a cushion if you do hit it, but it's still not ideal.
09:09All the rope's just tangled up in all this kelp here,
09:12and it's just really difficult to actually get a bit of the rope because none of it's exposed.

11:08so far so slow we are not seeing many fish at the moment Bryce's bumper start to his shot has

11:25around the 170 mark we're getting one or two at least some jockeys for you can jock get a
11:36jockey can he get his first jockey or jockeys a jockey is a lobster that's on the outside of the
11:42pot so that lobster's traveled the whole way from the bottom about a hundred meters down and come
11:47all the way to the boat hanging on he had two chances at it and he got one he had
11:5115% chance
11:52that's all right fine they were both undersized anyway that's all right it's training mate
11:59sometimes as they break the surface they'll jump off so you've got to be quick to grab them on and
12:04get him in if you can catch that lobster and it's sized it's meant to bring you luck
12:13and good luck is just what they need we've finished pulling all the gear now locky's
12:18counting the fish down jock's just baiting the last pot what do we get got 40 out of that lot

12:3415 more a kilo than the brindles so ideally that that 160 is worth like 250 brindles you know so
12:40can't complain with that really everyone's going to get a payday i'm just hoping that the day shot

13:10and then there's the issue of operating with just one decky burn all the diesel and the bait and you
13:17know all the food and everything else that goes with it for me to operate this boat at least one
13:22a couple hundred fish a day and that means miles must be able to drop at least two shots a

13:34timmy's starting to show the early signs of exhaustion and it's no surprise as the pira is
13:39second on the tally board jack's the only other single decky skipper and he's coming last
13:47apparently i've lost spot with the brindles but i still remember how to catch a red bitch
13:55so this is a foul pot jammed in the bottom it's taking us so long to get these pots up

14:03we've got a stuck pile so you've got to just you've got to drive up over it to try and
14:07pull it
14:09right out above it we should already be shooting our day shot in and now i'm going to try and
14:14focus
14:14to get this this pot unstuck and we might we might even lose this pot when you're putting tension on
14:21that pot and it won't come free the line will generally shoot off the pot hauler and when that
14:27rope shoots out of the hauler it's just like a whip if that hits you in the face you know
14:32i mean
14:32that's that's it's going to really hurt generally when you get a stuck pot it's usually a few crays
14:39and it means you've um got right in a nice hole in the bottom
14:51so that's out there this is a really good relief puts a bit of a lighter mood on things
14:58oh yeah we've really got to get going here because we're way behind the eight ball

17:14big is best at pedra you can catch red lobsters in the shallow waters around the rocks and you can
17:21catch brindles in the deeper water 101 kilo brindles priced at 55 a kilo are worth five thousand
17:29five hundred dollars 102 kilo big reds priced at 85 dollars a kilo are worth 17 000
17:38size matters sometimes you can catch both at the same time you can have a night shot on the reds
17:43and the day shot on the brindles but sometimes the reds might be running and the brindles are not
17:48or vice versa so pedro's got its own mind it's the boss and i just hope it welcomes the bowl
