Twenty years later, an iconic win in Italy. In this video, we are revisiting Shaun White’s appearance on the Martha Stewart Show following his first gold medal win at the Turin Olympics in February 2006.

00:00When did you start snowboarding?
00:01When I was about 6, 7 because my brother started doing it and it's just like I was, you know,
00:07his older brother so I just copied whatever he was doing and I mean it just felt right, I just
00:11started, you know, doing my thing.
00:13Well how has your life changed in one short week since you got the middle?
00:17Everybody like that approaches me, it's really cool because they don't just say congrats, it's crazy that you won, they're
00:22like we're proud of you, like you represented us.
00:25We are, we are and you did it so nicely, you did it so fantastic.
00:29But I didn't even, you know, I didn't even know I was like really representing everybody and that was like
00:33what hit me when I came home because I just thought like okay, I just got to win this medal
00:37and this thing and yeah.
00:38You're representing America, the United States of America and this is a big deal, I mean the Olympics are just
00:43one of the nicest ways to celebrate community of spirit and competitive nature and.
