00:12In a statement on Wednesday, Gobin said it has been five months since the incident, yet
00:18no clear action has been taken against any individuals involved.
00:22Gobin says the seriousness of the case cannot be understated, adding that allegations have
00:27been raised and evidence, including audio recordings, has been presented in support of the claims.
00:33The Digital Minister and Damansara MP said the matter is of public interest, adding that
00:39the public has the right to know what happened, while the families of the victims are entitled
00:44to answers and justice.
00:46The case dates back to a police shooting in Durian Tungal, Malacca on November 24 last year, where
00:53three men were shot dead during an early morning operation.
00:56Police said the suspects, believed to be linked to a robbery gang, had attacked officers with
01:02machetes, prompting them to open fire in self-defence.
01:06However, the incident drew public scrutiny after the victims' families disputed the police account.
01:12Lawyers also raised concerns over alleged inconsistencies in the timeline and circumstances of the shooting.
