00:03John Edmonds and Tony Hagee are planning their next search.
00:07The pair were part of a group of volunteers that helped find the remains of Belgian tourist
00:12Celine Cremere, two and a half years after she went missing in North West Tasmania.
00:18There's a lot of camaraderie, it's just a sincere, bonding, I don't know how to
00:29explain it.
00:31They and many of the other volunteers now want to formalise as a group to look for others
00:36in Tasmania's wilderness.
00:38It just felt like, yeah that bond, it was good to keep that going.
00:44They've already planned their next search.
00:47This closure was a term I hated but I understand 100% now what it was meaning, because I want
00:55closure.
00:57Katrina Clifford met her partner Peter Willoughby, known as POM, four decades ago.
01:02If there was something that we weren't happy with we'd always make sure we'd nutted it out
01:08if you like before we went to bed, so we didn't go to bed angry.
01:12Last October they drove into Hollybank Forest Reserve near Launceston looking for an old motorbike
01:18track.
01:19But they got bogged and were rescued by police, leaving their car behind.
01:24Four days later as they looked for the car, Mr Willoughby, who was 76 and going through
01:29chemotherapy, walked ahead.
01:32When I stopped getting a reply when I was calling out that was when I started to get
01:37a bit, a little bit concerned.
01:39Police and emergency services spent weeks searching for Mr Willoughby but didn't find
01:44him.
01:44In late January John Edmonds contacted Ms Clifford's sister, Vicki Gibbon, offering to start a new
01:51search.
01:52It's just grown since then and I'm overwhelmed at the depth of work that these searchers are
01:59doing and what's involved with this search.
02:03The new search is planned for May 29th to 31st.
02:08The search group hopes to get about 35 volunteers but there will be some important prerequisites.
02:14Volunteers will be vetted to make sure they have the skills and the personality for the job.
02:20Tasmania Police have provided the group details of where they've searched previously and support
02:26the renewed effort.
02:27The pair have already spent hours searching the Holybank Forest Reserve.
02:32Four days in October, three days in March and tomorrow will be my fourth day.
02:39They say much of the group is just as motivated after seeing the importance of closure for Celine
02:45Cremere's family.
02:46I mean it sounds boring just randomly wandering through the bush but when you think about what
02:54you could find and how that impacts people and what closure it would bring, yeah it keeps
03:04you going.
