00:01how do i do on that the guitar i came in i think maybe like here with the guitar what
00:06about with
00:06that thing here's here's here's what i want to tell you know your role when the guitar is playing
00:11we need the little keyboard simulated sound when the little keyboard sound is playing we need the
00:15guitar to accompany it so give me the guitar with that and then i think we got something
00:20do you know no that when i was in high school probably not and i would be like the pa
00:27announcer
00:28for basketball games i wouldn't do this for the big ones you know christian leitner and nickels
00:34rolling in you wouldn't see me do this for that right but for like the freshman games i couldn't
00:38get enough of it so i would do girls games freshman games jv and i had a keyboard get out
00:44of here and
00:45during timeouts i would play ditties did you know that no this has got to be made up casio this
00:52can
00:52i had a little white not be true sal it's true you've seen worse i had a white casio keyboard
00:59like this big like the size of a an oboe maybe and you could you know how those were you
01:05play
01:05different sound different instruments even though they all sounded both of the same
01:08commonly referenced size everyone's going oh i know exactly what size an oboe is thanks mike what
01:13do you want a flute the size of a that's not as long as a flute a little shorter than
01:18a flute
01:18but uh i'm talking about a musical instrument a keyboard and it was not as long as a flute and
01:24i
01:24would play little little things you know and the crowd would love it this is unbelievable right
01:34unbelievable you guys i mean you know i also was a pa announcer for basketball games i had a big
01:40yellow boom box i put a cassette tape in i'd play and just put the mic next to the darn
01:43speaker that's
01:44what i did that's better you're over here really great five piece orchestra yeah that's right i'm
01:49playing rock three during time out grand island nt jv games no i only knew like two songs but god
01:58you change the instrument right they all kind of sound the same and you go from like saxophone to
02:02trumpet and it's pretty you can't tell which one is which that was me all right hey sel you know
02:09you
02:09and i talked yesterday did we get into enough about maybe brandon bean stuff yesterday we talked
02:15about uh michael hoyt i know a little bit and some draft ideas was there more when you think about
02:21it
02:21was there more to say about what you know the media availability from yesterday or no sure there was
02:27some really interesting stuff from brandon i thought um from my perspective stuff i was going back and
02:32listening to again today and you know he told a fascinating story to me i mean not to me
02:38to me the story was fascinating sorry you know what i mean um so he told it to everybody but
02:43to me it was fascinating and it was about christian benford and he was trying to really
02:50kind of give a a picture of how do you evaluate guys who come from smaller schools with don't play
02:57as good of a competition and he used christian benford as an example and he said we were fortunate
03:03to get christian where we did in the sixth round he said no at the end of the day we
03:07were for we could
03:08have got him in the fourth round we'd be fortunate now knowing who he is and what he can do
03:11but he
03:12said he went when they were watching film what you do is you can't compare a lot of times these
03:19small
03:19school guys watching their body of work because they're against other small school guys guys who
03:23aren't going to play in the league like if you want to project a guy how well he's going to
03:26play
03:26in the league you can't really go against you know the the the bad competition so you got to find
03:31the spots right in the spot where they went against benford shutting down somebody from umass is
03:35probably not going to go a long way towards telling you whether he can play in the nfl or not
03:39100 but you know what happened to him so you're thinking i'm thinking he's going to tell this
03:43story as he's going i'm thinking oh he's going to say how he went against some sec guy and had
03:47a
03:47great day it's actually just the opposite he said he went against johan dotson of penn state
03:52now christian went to villanova in case people don't know he went to he went against johan dotson of
03:57penn state and johan dotson beat him pretty badly that day got behind him a couple times christian had a
04:03bad day first round he said right he said so that probably dinged him in the draft the bills
04:10just like everybody were valuing it wasn't like oh my god this is great he said the reason why we
04:15still liked him was even though that happened we felt he showed enough to us that maybe he could
04:22translate to safety he said when the bills took him they thought he's going to start at corner
04:27start out at corner but maybe eventually if he has to go to safety we're comfortable with that
04:32we like what we see in the body of work we weren't scared off by that by that particular
04:36game we'll still let him do that because we saw enough of him that maybe we can translate him
04:40to a different position and you guys remember a year or two into christian benford's career
04:43we were sitting here talking about that yes there's a couple things i'm thinking we were still hopeful
04:48that elan was recoverable yeah become a starter starting level player you were trying to find you
04:54know who's going to eventually replace poyer and hyde and all that yeah sure i just i really found
04:59that to be a really cool antidote type of story sure johan dotson went before elam that's how early
05:07he was as a prospect in the first round out of uh out of penn state yeah there's a couple
05:12things here
05:13one is i mean are we getting into ai yet at these press conferences like more and more
05:18stuff out there about teams who might not even do the combine anymore because they can evaluate the
05:25lesser school if you know if you will the lesser school players that's kind of this benford point
05:32and track their speed like they never were able to do and other kind of measurables through the
05:38computer so you know maybe you go to the combine or a pro day guy has a bad day but
05:43you know you have
05:44data now on what they're able to do on the field which could i'm not sure it'll make the combine
05:49moot
05:50ever but that's an interesting thing i think you're starting to hear team san francisco you're
05:55starting to hear teams talk about today right just sort of like what the game is changing to put it
06:01right if you're short if you if you can scout college football and know how often a defensive
06:07back for instance or or it doesn't matter but how often a corner in this case because we're talking
06:12about benford how fast he is in his back pedal or how quickly he's running during gameplay right
06:19a guy beats him at the line of scrimmage and he catches up how quickly does he get to his
06:24speed
06:24and how often does he reach his top speed that can offset what like how well he does in the
06:3240 at
06:32the combine because you've got maybe 20 examples of him being extreme the evidence is overwhelming
06:39he's fast enough but if he doesn't run a good 40 maybe that's one of these deals where the gm
06:44that has all that data maybe they all should is going go ahead run slow that's fine yeah we had
06:50that was the second thing i was going to say we know your play speed has been proven we we
06:54all know
06:55it it's it's fast as hell who was the player we wanted to have run slow and then maybe even
07:00being
07:00sal him said himself said that was gabe davis davis okay that's good for us yeah yeah that was yeah
07:06it was gabe davis there was somebody else too i think uh keon coleman maybe there was something about
07:10that last year because all the maybe the keon coleman stuff so a lot on this first of all it
07:15was yesterday actually that john lynch spoke today i saw it um he said if you're not using ai
07:22um then you're you're you're already behind just like his quote was you at home planning a travel
07:27itinerary you can just ask the thing and it can spit out pretty good things some pretty good ideas
07:34yesterday brandon bean made some headlines because of what he said about ai do you guys see this no
07:39oh i made me think of it made me think of bulldog actually brandon bean said when he was asked
07:47about
07:47ai or no no it wasn't he wasn't asked about ai my apologies he was asked about like something coming
07:54out with prospects and how things can change on a moment's notice and he said quote barring something
08:00like a gas mask popping up if you guys want to put any if you got he joked then if
08:05you guys want to put
08:06any really talented players using ai will take them i see you know he was using ai as a hey
08:16there's a
08:16lot of stuff you have to be careful about out there right but you and i'm sorry so it was
08:21asked the
08:21question was i'm looking now i'm trying to remember the question was um it the question was something
08:26about that like how do you know what's real what's not maybe things like that so anyway that's what he
08:30said anybody to mention the gas mask from laramie tunsel and bulldog tunsel's gas masks right right
08:35what's your team name right that is still my only fantasy football team's name yes uh yeah yeah so
08:42so it's being like jokingly saying like put make some ai created uh you know punitive looking pictures
08:50of guys that we want to draft so they fall to us is that basically the gist he here's the
08:55full quote
08:55my apologies thank you he said you do a rundown these are the guys we are pretty sure there's less
09:01than one percent chance they'll be there barring something like a gas mask or something popping up
09:06so if you guys want to put any players who are really talented using ai to help us get there
09:10get
09:10them we'll take them and he laughed about it which is interesting so the ai stuff is real i
09:16i don't love it okay i'm kind of old school like this yana loves using chat gpt she does it
09:22a lot
09:22you know in our lives what we do we talk for a living we communicate for a living that's what
09:27i've done my whole life i have kind of prided myself on being a communicator my whole life that's
09:31what i've done i don't like like i'll do something she'll say why don't you have chat gpt just write
09:35it up why don't you have ai and i'm like no i don't do that that doesn't sound like sal
09:39capaccio
09:39i don't want to do that but it is amazing when you do it right they really do have incredible
09:44technology so very good example was mike you got this fantasy hockey league that we're doing
09:50for the playoffs and i had to come up with a team name and i wrote team capaccio
09:55and i said and yana gave me the suggestion and i did it to have chat gpt ask it to
10:01come up with a
10:03fantasy hockey team name using sabers names okay i was going to guess but you said that last part
10:07so and it did and my team i changed it to were the dalene llamas yeah yeah gpt created that
10:16for
10:16that's the thing i mean if you're in fantasy football in a home league at least a third of
10:20the teams have names like that there are puns off right player names i didn't think of it it was
10:25just but that's what i mean like it's crazy so anyway a little bit of a tangent but the world
10:29has
10:29changed i would not be a good general manager front office person knowing all this because
10:34i would want to not trust that as much as it seems like they are trusting it well i'm very
10:39much
10:39like you in sort of being afraid of it not that you said you were afraid of it but just
10:43sort of
10:44opting out because i'm like you in sort of how i show myself to the world and if somebody else
10:51can
10:51just do that to me is very depressing i think there are lots of benefits that i couldn't even
10:56begin to delineate or list um and you know there are lots of times too like twitter right now quinn
11:02hughes of vancouver canucks stop skating on puck believe to go wide like this is how minnesota lost
11:07because quinn hughes was apparently still on vancouver made a mistake in the game and they lost to dallas i
11:12mean there's just too much going wrong with this you know uh but that'll get better i think in
11:19terms if or worse if you want to look at it that way right those mistakes will stop will start
11:23to dry
11:23up right you'd expect it would have we're still pretty new here yeah yeah i mean so a couple weeks
11:29ago you guys probably saw i did a video i played drums wearing the iron mafia shirt from 26 shirts
11:33right and like it was like a throwback thursday they asked me to the shirt and i i went on
11:37i'm wearing
11:38the iron mafia shirt and i'm like there's this is eddie eddie is the mascot for iron maiden he's
11:43actually the uh the inspiration for the poltergeist monster by the way i don't know if you guys know
11:47that so that's in the in the hallway there that's eddie and um so max says to me if you
11:52watch he goes
11:52you should have eddie eddie should be wearing a josh allen jersey so i said let me play around
11:57with this and i literally went to chat gbt and i said create a picture of eddie from iron maiden
12:02maiden wearing a josh allen jersey and i was blown away it was just unbelievable to me that this thing
12:08did it like that let's get to some dirt here sal the draft comes up on thursday night round one
12:16i was looking at over-unders today and i got the sense again that the props are telling you how
12:22bad the draft is we've talked about this with different analysts and there would be a range of
12:27opinions do you feel like it's safe to consider a draft this draft bad i mean is it for you
12:35is it
12:36too hard to predict what will happen or are you more like me i feel like it's probably pretty safe
12:42i'm gullible i might i'll be watching hockey but i might be to like sort of pick six or seven
12:47of this
12:47thing like who is anybody else at this point except for the receivers we've talked about later
12:51in the first round so i don't know enthusiasm for this draft is not great for me
12:57i i think a lot of reasons we talked about the enthusiasm sabers have a lot to do with it
13:00bill's picking 26th you know i mean um did i don't know if we talked about this yesterday because i
13:06don't remember yesterday versus this morning with jeremy and joe but really good point on something
13:10else brandon bean talked about with this so i specifically asked him this question about
13:14hey a lot of analysts say this is not the best draft especially near the top he by the way
13:18did answer
13:19another question saying they have on the lower end of what they normally do for first round
13:23talented grades first round grades lower end okay but then part of it was he also said this draft
13:32because of the covid year that happened with a lot of college athletes five six years ago older guys
13:37and and because of the nil and guys saying i'm gonna go back to school to get some money now
13:43i can
13:43get paid and just stay in school he said that's created an older draft so instead of drafting
13:5021 22 year olds a lot of this draft is more 22 23 year olds 24 year olds considering all
13:55that
13:55than than usual so what that kind of really lends itself to is guys you're kind of drafting more for
14:02a floor for those guys than you are for a ceiling for the younger guys those guys kind of already
14:07are
14:07where they are in a lot of ways right so you use you've seen a lot of them a lot
14:12more of them in
14:12college and maybe you did before which is a good thing but the reason why they're still in college
14:18and they're not considered this high-end talent there's got to be you know at that age you're
14:21like okay well we're drafting a guy to come onto our team but that's not a smash right so i
14:26think
14:26there's a lot of really interesting stuff in there yeah for sure i mean i i think um you know
14:32we're
14:32obviously obsessed and rightly so with what's going on with the hockey team and i think so a lot a
14:37lot of
14:37you know speaking as a show but as a fan i mean i i think the combination of you know
14:44the reviews
14:45the prospects are getting and our attention being as divided as it is you know there's also this sal
14:51i mean bean is not what who's who comes to mind if i ask you who's what's the soonest a
14:58draft pick
14:59had an impact on this team since josh allen i mean josh allen obviously has transformed the whole
15:04operation it took a few years to get up and running but obviously you could see it it was
15:09coming and it blasted off like the high picks last year hairston is hurt the year before that is coleman
15:16and it's just sort of like not just i don't know like i feel like maybe riding along in a
15:23sidecar with
15:24the expectations that fans have about like you know go in your 12 games all that matters is january
15:31is kind of like i don't know tell me when you do something that's going to really move the meter
15:35for this team in a draft you know yeah i mean speaking i mean you know like yeah i mean
15:40obviously
15:41you're i think you're talking about higher picks but you could pick on a guy like deon walker had
15:44a nice year last year right sure you did yeah yeah that's not a that's not a oh my god
15:47like when's
15:48the last time they had a guy in the rookie of the year conversation right you know something like
15:51that a guy that really stepped in i mean i guess like there have been guys tyler bass had a
15:55nice
15:56rookie year um max harrison when he played last year he came in he looked good i think christian
16:01benford might kind of be a guy like this because he did play quite a bit his rookie year but
16:06you're
16:06right but i i've always and look i i know that there's definitely something to be said for well
16:12you have to be better i've matt bovay and i did a great exercise i thought for it's always game
16:17day
16:17buffalo last year at this time was last year and my contention was brandon bean has just as many
16:24hits or misses as brett veach in kansas city he does the difference is brett veach just has more
16:29guys the kansas city chiefs have more guys that have just become all pros first team right but he
16:33actually has more guys that busted out and done nothing even even his early picks have done nothing
16:39it just doesn't feel like that because look where kansas city is and you'll see some of these guys so
16:42we went and we actually did a side-by-side we compared and we talked about it and i i
16:48do believe
16:48like the bills could be better at those early picks there's no doubt i also don't think that
16:53they're like brandon bean has been some miserable failure compared to the rest of his his counterparts
16:57when it comes to overall drafting if you do look at some of the better teams in the league they
17:01have
17:01just as many of these guys in fact the bills might have more guys have really contributed later in the
17:05draft which seems to be where their strength is now that said i think that part of the reason why
17:12the bills haven't had what we're talking about here is because they have a good roster now and it's
17:17harder to make an impact earlier even if the guy might be a really good player or make a bigger
17:22impact than another in another team kiko alonzo won the pro football writers association
17:28defensive rookie of the year in 2013 the ap winner was someone else and for the bills to win either
17:35uh you go back to shane conlon before that and you know benford this is not a strike against the
17:40benford pick need i say so but they did pick elam in the first round that's right you know so
17:45you had
17:46some pressure to he's lucky he was able to get in if elam's okay do we ever see benford but
17:54he was
17:55worse than that i got kind of tangled up really my point overall is i think i would understand if
18:00the
18:00fan base is kind of like okay pick your defensive lineman and we'll be we'll be we'll see in september
18:06because that's kind of it's predictable it's still a need even though they've thrown lots of assets at it
18:12and you know right now i think a fan would be it's reasonable for a fan to be like yeah
18:19it'll be the
18:20rotational guy thanks okay great like tj sanders right is going into year two they moved up to get
18:27him in the second round and i still have a need at that position and i don't know that doesn't
18:34sit
18:34right i think exactly yeah i think though i mean part of that is because the the the shift in
18:41scheme i
18:41think part of it right maybe but you're right i mean they haven't they still they have questions
18:45at defensive tackle there's no doubt i agree with you bulldog i still say like you we could debate it
18:51because there's a couple areas where it depends on what a fan might feel but i'll tell you kind of
18:55what
18:55i think the bills feel about it but how many starting positions are actually open on this team
19:00i i mean if they believe dorian you could you could argue off all linebacker but i that could also
19:05be
19:06they feel dorian williams is a starter that's fine that's a question mark of maybe one i do think
19:10there's a defensive tackle a nose guard like a true nose guard type of opening but they do have
19:15guys up front i think that are going to play i don't think there's a starting job at defensive end
19:19and i don't think there's a necessary starting job at wide receiver right now even though that's
19:24probably the biggest area we talk about an offense the only one truly up for grabs when they go to
19:29camp might be offensive guard that's it and there's guys there that are going to compete for it
19:34yankees red socks in fenway bulldog any interest in the yankees given that the
19:38bruins and sabers are playing that much you sort of lean toward uh our home state in this series or
19:44no it doesn't work like that for you no still yankees no we're still red socks rather yeah i
19:49also won't pay any attention to the baseball game but you know i'll check my phone at the game tonight
19:54every once in a while that's about it you have an hour before the hockey game almost an hour
19:58of baseball uh most of that will be eaten up by being inside key bank center getting ready because
20:04it's so incredible to be there right yeah also you have your savage pitching for the bisons if you
20:10want to get down there at six right and it's two dollar hot dogs you get a few innings of
20:13that before
20:14you go to the hockey game all right yeah i think it's two dollar hot dogs tonight which i think
20:19the
20:19other hockey game is at half hour before tonight right seven o'clock start with um canadians and
20:24lightning i mean two dollar hot dogs a nice little run up it's hockey it's hard to be there and
20:29pay
20:2915 get a good get a good base down all right sal have fun tonight all right guys thanks a
20:36lot
