00:30Hello, everybody. It's Countdown of an afternoon on Channel 4 in the deepest part of summer.
00:36I hope you're enjoying your day. Thank you so much for tuning in. Without you, we are nothing.
00:42And the vast majority of people, like, I've loved Countdown all my life. I never wrote in.
00:47I feel quite bad now. I should have sent a letter or something.
00:51Every show probably says this, but it is ours. The connection's unbelievable, isn't it?
00:55The letters we get and the little bits and pieces, right?
00:57Yeah. I mean, some people have watched literally since day one and not missed an episode.
01:01They've seen it before I was even born. So they're more part of the Countdown family than I am.
01:06Yeah. I love this letter, OK? This is from Jacqueline Biddlecombe.
01:11So, please find enclosed an adult penguin, a baby penguin and a small chunk of ice.
01:17I hope they've made it to you in one piece. Now, why is that? Make it to you in one
01:22piece.
01:22What are they? Well, are you ready?
01:25Mm-hmm.
01:27Jacqueline is a stained glass artist. Look at that.
01:32That is beautiful.
01:34Ah, can you see? And look, they move.
01:36That is very beautiful.
01:38Love that. Thank you so much.
01:39Right. Over to Dictionary Corner.
01:42It's just the Tuesday and already fitting right in, making her debut in Dictionary Corner alongside her G of the
01:48D, Susie Denter.
01:49Brilliant. Clara Ampho's back.
01:51Oh, hello.
01:53Right. Well, listen, we have a new champion, don't we?
01:55Jennifer Colford, who's originally from Bridgewater, Massachusetts.
01:58We had a lovely chat about your native land yesterday.
02:01But you are a retired lecturer in nutrition and food science.
02:07You won numerous amateur tennis competitions.
02:10And in fact, we're also a tennis coach.
02:13I am, yes.
02:15We went to the States for a year and I lost my part-time lecturing job.
02:19So I was looking around for something else to do.
02:21So I said, oh, I'll try to become a tennis coach at the age of 50-something.
02:26So it was quite a challenge, but it's very enjoyable.
02:29It's a great sport. You can play it, you know, as long as you're still breathing, which is, it's great.
02:35Love it. Well, today you're taking on Paul Johnson from St. Helens.
02:39Forget the tennis. It's all about the rugby league for you, isn't it?
02:41Yep.
02:42Excellent. St. Helens, you've had your lows for sure.
02:45You've had a few highs. Did you manage to make any of the big games?
02:48I went to the 2006 grand final and they basically cleaned up all year.
02:56Ah, lovely. Well, best of luck to you.
02:58It's Paul and Jennifer.
03:02And here we go. Letters and numbers. Jennifer, you're starting.
03:05Hi. Could I have a vowel to start, please, Rachel?
03:07Thank you, Jennifer. Start today with you.

03:43MUSIC PLAYS
04:13Give me a number, Jennifer.
04:15I think I'll stick with seven.
04:18Seven.
04:18And Paul?
04:19Eight.
04:19An eight.
04:20OK, well, that might have been the one Jennifer was thinking of going with.
04:23What's your seven?
04:24Stormed.
04:25Stormed.
04:26And for you, Paul?
04:27Atomizer.
04:28Atomizer.
04:29Atomizer, absolutely brilliant.
04:30There's no D for stormed, unfortunately.
04:32I did it again.
04:34But atomizer, yeah, well done.
04:36Very good.
04:36Clara, I'm telling you now, there's nothing else.
04:38Well, we have another eight in moisture.
04:41Yeah, yeah.
04:42Moisture.
04:43Or muriates.
04:44Yes, old term for chloride.
04:46Yeah.
04:46It's that old chemical term, but yeah, a few eights.
04:49All right, great start, Mr Johnson.
04:50Off we go again.
04:51Hi, Rachel.
04:52Hi, Paul.

05:28
05:29
05:57That's it, Paul.
05:59Try a six.
06:00Try a six.
06:01And Jennifer?
06:02Stick with a five.
06:03Stick with a five.
06:03What's the five?
06:04Pails.
06:05OK, it's all going on, isn't it, in these early rounds?
06:07What are you going to try?
06:08Unpass.
06:10Unpass.
06:12Um, unpassable, but not unpass on its own, Paul.
06:15I'm sorry.
06:16Look at this.
06:18Look at this.
06:19Five points back for Jennifer.
06:21Clara, anything better than the five?
06:23We have a seven in Paulins.
06:25What's that mean?
06:26Yes, short for tarpaulins.
06:28Essentially, simple as that.
06:30Simple as that.
06:31Yes.
06:31Right, well, there's enough going on, so we can move on then.
06:33First, numbers of the day, Jennifer.
06:36Could I have two large, please, Rachel, and the rest small?
06:39You can indeed.
06:40Thank you, Jennifer.
06:41Two from the top, four not.
06:43Four little ones to start are three, three, two, and nine.
06:48And then the bigger two, 50, and 25.
06:52And you need to reach 681.
06:54Ooh, 681, numbers up.
06:57Bye-bye.
06:57You're welcome.
06:57Bye-bye.
06:58What?
07:19Thanks.
07:19Bye-bye.
07:266-8-1, then, Jennifer.
07:286-8-1.
07:29And Paul?
07:306-8-1.
07:30Well done.
07:31Off you go, Jennifer.
07:3250 plus 25 is 75.
07:35It is...
07:36Times nine.
07:38675.
07:39And add the two threes.
07:40Lovely.
07:416-8-1.
07:42Yeah.
07:42Was it the same way, Paul?
07:43Same way, yeah.
07:44Yeah.
07:45APPLAUSE
07:47Well done, both of you.
07:48The Tea Time teaser is Tim Green.
07:51Tim Green.
07:52Tim wore a green beret along with the rest of his company.
07:56Tim wore a green beret along with the rest of his company.

08:06APPLAUSE
08:09APPLAUSE
08:14Welcome back, everyone.
08:15Tim wore a green beret along with the rest of his company.
08:19The answer, of course, regiment.
08:20Regiment.
08:21Back to our challenger.
08:22Back to Paul and more letters.
08:24Start with a consonant, please.
08:26Thank you, Paul.
08:27T.
08:29Another one.
08:31N.
08:33Another one.
08:34M.
08:36A vowel, please.
08:56Thank you, Rachel.
08:59A vowel, please.
09:30Time's up there, Paul.
09:32Seven.
09:32Seven for you and for Jennifer.
09:35Seven as well.
09:36Seven as well.
09:36What have you got, Paul?
09:37Enger.
09:38Jennifer.
09:39Montage.
09:39I think Dictionary Corner Jennifer might have something to say
09:42about montage being a bit longer.
09:44Yeah, montage-da.
09:46The D on the end.
09:48You can put the D on it, yeah.
09:49That will take you to an eight.
09:51And we also have a mega-don't.
09:54So is that spelled like mega-don't,
09:56as in when you tell somebody off you really don't want them to do it?
09:58No, this is a mega-don't.
10:00Yeah.
10:00Yeah.
10:01It mustn't mean that.
10:02It's spelled that way, but without the apostrophe,
10:04and it means having very large teeth.
10:06Mega-don't.
10:07Yes.
10:07You're a mog-a-dent.
10:08I'm a mog-a-dent.
10:09Yeah.
10:11OK, more letters, Jennifer.
10:13I could have a vowel, please, Rachel.
10:15Thank you, Jennifer.
10:16O.
10:17And another one.
10:19I.
10:20And a third, please.
10:22A.
10:23Consonant.
10:25C.
10:27And another consonant.
10:28T.
10:29One more.
10:31W.
10:32A vowel.
10:34O.
10:35And a consonant.
10:38G.
10:39And a vowel...
10:41Final vowel, please.
10:42And a final A.
10:43And half a minute.
10:45Okay.
11:12And a vowel.
11:13Just a pointer, please.
11:13To be, could you respond?
11:14Okay.
11:14I, I.
11:14What is there?
11:15Well, you both looked in pain during that round.
11:19Jennifer?
11:20Just a four.
11:21Paul?
11:21I'll stick with a set of five.
11:23OK, a five.
11:24OK, Jennifer, the four?
11:25A goat.
11:26Yeah, and the five?
11:27I want it.
11:28Wait, it's very good indeed.
11:29Nice, well spotted.
11:30Well spotted.
11:31Yeah.
11:31Goodness me.
11:32We had one other five.
11:33Yeah, another five.
11:35Tawai, which is a tree from New Zealand.
11:38Stinky letters.
11:39Stinky letters.
11:39Let's turn that board around.
11:40Do some numbers, Paul, you're choosing.
11:43Can I have two large, please?
11:45You can indeed.
11:46Another two large selection and four default little ones.
11:49And the little ones this time are ten and another ten.
11:53Five, six, and a large one, 75 and 100.
11:57And you need to reach 185.
12:01Do whatever you want for 29 of these seconds.
12:34Let's get it done.
12:35At 185, Paul?
12:36Yeah, 185.
12:37Yeah, Jennifer?
12:38185.
12:39Yeah, no ink spared, Paul.
12:41Under plus 75, plus 10.
12:43Not writing that up.
12:44Jennifer.
12:45Same.
12:46We'll save the time for something else.
12:50And that time you can use now.
12:52Listen, Clara, can we have a chat more about, I think it's, I mean, it's legendary in radio terms,
12:56the live lounge in particular, and I think, I mean, I'm 47 and it predates my time at Radio 1,
13:02right through Joe Wiley, right through Fern Cotton, right through yourself.
13:07And this thing where just this, the biggest stars in the most intimate space and the cover, what cover are
13:14they going to do?
13:14Yeah.
13:15What are your best memories?
13:16Oh, gosh.
13:17I think it's also the fact that we used to go to people's homes as well to do live performances.
13:22So I went to Justin Bieber's house, played basketball with him, and, yeah, he performed, he did a two-pack
13:29cover in his house, which was rather random.
13:32Oh, gosh, we've had the incredible Ray, who's just a dream.
13:36She's brilliant.
13:37And so many amazing artists.
13:39Ariana Grande did a great set for us.
13:41She did a Thundercat cover.
13:43I think that's a great thing.
13:44You never know what people are going to do.
13:45So many surprises.
13:46That is the magical thing about it.
13:48It's about people getting out of their comfort zone and challenging the listeners, you know?
13:51Yeah.
13:52Who's been, just, who's blown your mind more than anyone else?
13:56Oh, gosh.
13:58We've been so, so, so spoiled.
14:00I think the Jay-Z live lounge was really incredible.
14:02We took over, made a veil for that, and it was him and a big old choir,
14:06and he was telling us how he was watching Frozen with Blue Ivy
14:09and dressing up as a fairy princess, which really was thoroughly entertaining.
14:14That was a really good time.
14:16Miley Cyrus, absolutely fantastic, like pipes.
14:20She could truly sing anything.
14:21Yeah.
14:22So impressive live.
14:23She's, she's one of my, my favourites, one of my contemporary favourites.
14:27Yeah.
14:27She even did a record with the Flamin' Lips.
14:29Exactly.
14:30And she just, I like the fact she surprises a lot,
14:33and then goes back to very mainstream, big hits as well.
14:37They're still a good old country girl at heart.
14:38Do you ever have that thing where you're waiting to record,
14:41or you're playing a record, and it's about to start,
14:44and it's just like you going, that's Jay-Z or whatever?
14:47Oh.
14:48And you go like, how do you make small talk with them?
14:50Do you know what?
14:50I think you, you, you quickly realise doing this job,
14:53that everybody is just there living out their dream.
14:56Not to sound completely saccharine, but it, but it's true.
14:59And you just, and you just kind of see these people sort of living out their,
15:03I guess their childhood fantasy.
15:04So it kind of makes everything quite normal.
15:06Although it's always interesting to see who brings more people into the studio.
15:10Because I remember when Harry Styles came in,
15:11all of a sudden everybody wanted to help out on my show.
15:14And I was really popular in the office that day,
15:16and had about 20 extra bodies in the studio.
15:18I was like, okay, I see why.
15:20I see why.
15:21Right.
15:21Happy days.
15:25All right.
15:26Look at this.
15:27Oh, Paul, you love it when a plan comes together.
15:29So far, so good.
15:3040 points for you.
15:32Our champion, Jennifer, up against it a bit.
15:34Just eight points behind.
15:36And it's your letters.
15:38Could I have a vowel, please, Rachel?
15:40Thank you, Jennifer.
15:41I.
15:42And another.
15:43E.
15:44And another.
15:45I.
15:47Consonant.
15:48M.
15:50Another consonant, please.
15:51D.
15:52And another.
15:54L.
15:55Vowel.
15:56O.
15:58Consonant.
16:00G.
16:01And a final consonant.
16:04A final S.
16:06And here we go.
16:38All right, Jennifer.
16:39A seven.
16:40Going for a seven.
16:41And Paul.
16:41Oh, go for an eight.
16:43It's going to go for an eight.
16:44It's a big moment here.
16:45Jennifer, the seven.
16:46Idolise.
16:48Idolise.
16:48And Paul.
16:49Miss Lodge.
16:50Yes.
16:50Well, I would have instinctively said, no, it's dislodge.
16:54But we did look up Miss Lodge, because Clara was almost there.
16:58And it means to lodge in the wrong place.
17:01Oh.
17:02So, or in an inappropriate place.
17:04So, well done.
17:04If you don't want to dislodge, you miss Lodge.
17:06You can, yeah.
17:06Yeah, well done.
17:07Well done.
17:08Well done.
17:09So, again, today's difference in this course has just been about taking the risk.
17:13Yeah.
17:13Hasn't it?
17:14And that can work both ways.
17:15All right.
17:16Anything else going on in those nine letters?
17:18No, as I say, Clara was pretty much on that one.
17:21So, that was our best.
17:22Has mouldies made the dictionary yet, as in moulded studs?
17:25No.
17:26No, good.
17:26Thank goodness.
17:27Don't need it.
17:28Do not need it.
17:29More letters.
17:30Paul.
17:31Consonant, please.
17:32Thank you, Paul.
17:34R.
17:35Another one.
17:36T.
17:38Another one.
17:40P.
17:42Vowel, please.
17:44E.
17:45Another one.
17:46O.
17:48Another one.
17:49E.
17:51Consonant.
17:52T.
17:54Another one.
17:56G.
17:59Vowel, please.
18:01And lastly, I.
18:03And start the clock.
18:36Paul? Six.
18:38Six, Jennifer? Dodgy seven.
18:41Paul, a six? Dodger.
18:43Yes, and for you, Jennifer?
18:45Pottier.
18:46Yes, your dodgy ones are not so dodgy.
18:48It's absolutely fine, well done.
18:50Although if you're described as pottier, that's a little dodgy.
18:52So kind of dodgy in that sense, isn't it?
18:55I always think if you meet someone who's pottier,
18:58you want to spend time in their company, don't you?
18:59It's a really kind word in a way, isn't it?
19:02A bit pussy, I agree.
19:03We also have protege.
19:05Oh, good, so sevens.
19:07Yes.
19:07Nice.
19:08All right, let's get our numbers.
19:10Third numbers round of the day,
19:12as Jennifer closes the gap to nine points in your choosing.
19:16I'm going to try three large, please, Rachel.
19:18Something a little bit different.
19:19Three large, three little, often a tricky combo.
19:22Let's see.
19:23The little ones this time, two, six, and eight.
19:26And the big ones, 175 and 25.
19:31And the target, 680.
19:34680.
19:35Numbers up.
19:35Four large, three.
19:42Assist the gap.
19:43Yeah, I'll see you soon.
19:44And the big ones.
19:44The big ones.
19:52They love the maps.
19:53And they love the news.
19:57They love the news, too.
19:57They love the news.
19:58They love the news.
20:00Yeah, I got tired.
20:05So I'm a guy.
20:05Yeah, he was one of the areas.
20:06And that's time, 6, 8, 0, the target.
20:10Jennifer?
20:10Um, 6, 8, 1.
20:12One away.
20:13Paul?
20:14Uh, 6, 7, 9, not really.
20:16And you go first, Paul, off you go.
20:18Uh, 6 times 100.
20:206 times 100, 600.
20:22Uh, plus 7 to 5.
20:246, 7, 5.
20:268 divided by 2 for 4.
20:29Uh, I do.
20:306, 7, 9, yep, one bloke.
20:32Yeah, one above now, Jennifer.
20:34So I did, uh, 6 times 100, plus 75.
20:38Yep.
20:39And then 8 minus 2 for the 6.
20:41So 8 minus 2 here instead of 8 divided by 2.
20:43Lovely.
20:44Slight difference.
20:45So 6, 8, 0, Rich?
20:47Yes, if you say 100 over 25 is 4, add that to 6 for 10 and add that to 75
20:54for 85 and then times it by 8.
20:57It's 680.
20:58There it is.
20:59APPLAUSE
21:01Get you 10 points out if you've got it at home.
21:03Huge 7 points here in the studio.
21:05Keeps us in crucial countdown conundrum territory.
21:08Going into the last part.
21:10So why would you ever tune out?
21:11Let's get this Tea Time teaser out of the way.
21:13Rice Club.
21:14Rice Club.
21:15The pressure reaches melting point at the theatre.
21:19The pressure reaches melting point at the theatre.
21:39The theatre in question you will find in the centre of the steel city of Sheffield.
21:46Crucible.
21:47Crucible.
21:48The answer.
21:49Home, of course, to the Snooker World Championship.
21:51Loads of controversy about that, isn't it, in terms of its future at the moment?
21:55I love it.
21:56I think it's one of the best sporting venues in the world.
21:58Right.
21:58OK.
21:59Let's get back to the game.
22:00And Paul, you're choosing these letters.
22:03Consonate, please.
22:04Thank you, Paul.

22:33Lastly, W.
22:34And good luck.
23:06I'll have to do this, Paul.
23:08Seven.
23:09Seven from you, very good.
23:10Jennifer?
23:11Just a six.
23:11Yeah, difficult letters.
23:12What have you got, Jennifer?
23:13Winer.
23:14A winer.
23:15W-H.
23:17Yes, not a drinker.
23:18Somebody whines about not having any wine.
23:20Paul?
23:21Fonier.
23:22Fonier, yes.
23:23Well spotted, yes.
23:27That is the real deal.
23:28Seven points.
23:29Anything else?
23:30Our two.
23:31Yeah, got us there.
23:32That was it?
23:32Yeah, yes.
23:33So difficult to plot your way through that.
23:35Points go to Paul.
23:37Look at that 16-point lead now.
23:39Jennifer, you keep pegging them,
23:41back, though.
23:42Are you going to do it again?
23:43Let's find out.
23:44Could I have a vowel, please, Rachel?
23:45Thank you, Jennifer.
23:46E.
23:46And another.
23:47I.
23:48One more.

24:37Ah. A perceber.
24:40How many, Jennifer?
24:41Seven.
24:42Paul?
24:42Seven.
24:43Seven as well.
24:44Jennifer?
24:44Curated.
24:45And for you, Paul?
24:47Crudite.
24:48Can you have a crudite in the singular is the question.
24:50You can't.
24:51I'm afraid you can only have crudites.
24:55Your little carrots for the dips, et cetera.
24:58So I'm sorry about that.
24:59Well, that is singularly shocking, isn't it?
25:03Back again.
25:04Look at you.
25:05You just can't shake or chump, Jennifer.
25:07That is tenacious.
25:08Well done to you.
25:09And seven, the best we've got.
25:11Yes.
25:11Also curated.
25:12It's one of those games where you're in such a groove.
25:15Dexterity Corner is just going, yep, that's the best we get.
25:18Yep, that's the best we get.
25:19That's when we know we're being treated to a special game.
25:22Four rounds to go.
25:25It's close yet again as we get our origins of words.
25:30Yes.
25:31Thanks to Ray Hall from Nuneaton who wrote to the team to ask,
25:36why do we frank a stamp and not merely stamp it?
25:40Where does frank come from?
25:42We talk about franking machines, et cetera,
25:45and it comes from a family that you might be surprised by,
25:48shall we say.
25:49So when we talk about being frank, we are being possibly blunt,
25:54but at the very least we're being open and candid.
25:57And when we do that, we are actually linking ourselves
25:59with a Germanic people who conquered Gaul many, many centuries ago,
26:04so around AD 500.
26:06And the franks, as they were called,
26:09were named after their favourite weapon,
26:10which was a sort of javelin, a spear, which was a franker.
26:14And they later, of course, gave their name to modern-day France.
26:19So that's the frank there.
26:20But when they took possession of Gaul,
26:22and I don't know, this may be familiar to some
26:25from the Asterix comic books,
26:28because it's all about this period in history,
26:30but when they took possession,
26:31they gave full freedom only to ethnic franks
26:36and to a favoured few of those who they had conquered.
26:40So they were free,
26:42and that is why we talk about being frank.
26:45We are being free and open.
26:47The others, unfortunately, had to live in servitude.
26:50And finally, to the meaning that Ray talks about here,
26:54to frank a letter is simply to make a mark
26:56so that you send it free of expense.
26:59It all goes back to that idea of the freedom
27:02afforded by the franks when they conquered Gaul.
27:05There you go. Thank you.
27:06APPLAUSE
27:10All right.
27:11Jennifer Colford, a champion for Massachusetts,
27:14on 53 points.
27:16Paul Johnson, a challenger,
27:17with a nine-point lead with four rounds to go.
27:20Let's enjoy every step of the way.
27:21Paul, your letters.
27:23Consonant, please.
27:24Thank you, Paul.

27:52Lastly, L.
27:54And kind down.
27:55D пос
27:56and D Wars.
27:59A.
28:04The.
28:06And again.
28:18A.
28:18The.
28:18MUSIC
28:25Paul, how many? Six.
28:27And Jennifer? I'll have to risk a seven.
28:31Well, this would be massive. Paul? Images.
28:34Images. And Jennifer? Gackles.
28:37How are you spelling that? G-A-C-K-L-E-S.
28:42Not there, unfortunately.
28:44No, I'm sorry, cackle or grackle also there.
28:47Yeah, I'm sorry. In between the two, eh?
28:52Cackles and grackles, but no cackles.
28:55All right, I went for that as well.
28:58So there you go. Well done, Paul.
29:00Right to stick with the six.
29:02Clara, were there any sevens?
29:04We have a seven in Mickles. M-I-C-K-L-E-S.
29:07What's that mean? Yes.
29:09Regional English, I think you also find it in Scots, for a large amount.
29:12There's the phrase, many a Mickle makes a muckle.
29:15If you had loads of stamps, would that be lickage?
29:18Just going back to you. Don't look it up, Susie, it's fine.
29:20I always look everything up. No.
29:24You look up my bad gags, it's one of your most endearing things.
29:28Right, final letters round. Jennifer?
29:30Vowel, please, Rachel.
29:31Thank you, Jennifer. E.
29:32And another. I. And another. U.
29:37A consonant. N. And another. D.
29:43A third consonant. H. Vowel. A. And a consonant. T.
29:53Final B.
29:54And a consonant.
29:56Final B.
29:58Last letters.
29:59Woman.
30:00Now.
30:27latest discuss this.ם
30:29Firsts. We are on
30:30Jennifer. I'm going to have to risk an eight. Yeah. And Paul.
30:33This is it. The six. Hande. I think I know what you're going for.
30:37Jennifer. Unbathed. Yes, unbathed. Two words I think to check here.
30:41But let's start with the biggest one first. We'll come to handy.
30:45Unbathed. It's not in. I'm so sorry.
30:49Yeah, but completely plausible. But not there.
30:53You'd have bet that was in. I was unbathed for most of the 1980s.
30:58Handy. Handy. Yeah, with IE. Yeah.
31:01So I know where you're going with this because very recently we had handies
31:04in the plural mobile phones, but the singular is a Y, not an IE.
31:09So I'm sorry. It's another one of those moments
31:12if Jennifer hadn't have taken a risk, you'd be in the crucial again.
31:16Yeah. OK, talk to me about what was there.
31:20We had Habitude for eight. Yeah. Habitude. Yes, which is gorgeous.
31:24And that is a habitual, you know, something habitual, a habit,
31:29a way of behaving.
31:30Well, you may be haunted by that round, Jennifer.
31:33Paul, you're choosing the last numbers.
31:35Oh, one large.
31:37One large. You want something easy. The tables have turned.
31:40Jennifer was in your position yesterday.
31:41Now she needs something tricky.
31:42Final numbers of the day.
31:45Seven, one, nine, eight, three, and the large one, 25.
31:50We could have something tricky. The target, 901.
31:54901. Number's up.
31:56The Clemson.
31:578-7-
32:26And that's your lot. Paul?
32:28901. That'll be for the win. Jennifer? 901.
32:31Let's see, Paul, if it's right, under pressure.
32:343 plus 1. 3 plus 1 is for...?
32:38Child's 9. 36. Child's 25.
32:41900. 8 minus 7 for one.
32:44And that is your teapot. Yeah, well done.
32:47Your saint goes marching in.
32:50Jennifer? Same way, Paul. Well done.
32:52Oh, yay. Thank you.
32:55I don't know what's happened in this series.
32:57What is going on with this series?
32:58So many really top champions not getting above a 1-2-3 wins.
33:03All right, you shook hands already. That was premature.
33:05How dare you? We've got one round left.
33:07Fingers on buzzers. Let's reveal today's Countdown Conundrum.
33:14Come on, Jennifer. Fastening. Let's have a look. Yeah.
33:21I mean, we're haunted by unbathed. Yes.
33:24My goodness me, it's finished then.
33:2678-73.
33:28Oh, my. I'm lost for words, Jennifer.
33:31You beat such a good champion.
33:33But you got the teapot.
33:35That's all I came for.
33:36You got the one win. We've had some lovely chats.
33:39Thanks, Paul.
33:39You've enhanced our week, so thank you so much.
33:42Thank you. I really enjoyed it. Thanks.
33:44Paul, I would have bet everything I had against you, she's so good.
33:47Oh, no. And here you are, your champion. Brilliant win.
33:50Oh, yeah. I'm happy, though. Yeah. I'm done.
33:53Well, don't say that.
33:54We can't have this amount of teapots go out the door.
33:57Times are tight.
33:59Cost 11.
34:00We can't be giving away this amount of teapots.
34:02Unbelievable. Paul, we'll see you tomorrow.
34:05Clara, Susie, see you tomorrow. Yeah, see you then.
34:07And all done for us today, Mitch.
34:09You've got so many penguins, people are going to have to
34:11start sending you buckets of fish.
34:12I know. I don't. They might. They might.
34:15Isn't that lovely, though?
34:16Beautiful.
34:16We'll see you tomorrow. Another challenger might be another teapot
34:19we're handing out.
