Byrum Brown will be the starting quarterback for the Auburn Tigers in 2026, but new head coach Alex Golesh likes what he's seen from freshman Tristan Ti'a.
Transcript
00:00Tristan, it just kind of how it worked out that really in the first half,
00:04the reps were about even.
00:06In the second half, you saw a little bit more Tristan.
00:09It was good to see Tristan operate.
00:10He's had his ups and downs.
00:12You know, his ceiling, he's a baby, like he's a freshman.
00:17He played five games in the fall.
00:21There's so many traits there.
00:22He's highly, highly intelligent.
00:24He's got a pretty ball.
00:25He's really accurate.
00:26You saw him run around a little bit today.
00:28That was good to see.
00:31But he's, the cool thing about Tristan is he's going to be the best version of himself.
00:35So what his ceiling is, he's gotten to really, really quickly.
00:40He's just young.
00:41And just like we talked about these receivers, some of these young guys,
00:45they've got to grow up really, really quickly here in the next four months.
00:48And we're going to force him, force feed it.
00:50We're going to force him to continue to learn and grow.
00:54But I would tell you we got out of Tristan what we were hoping to get.
00:57Lachlan's competed like crazy with him.
01:00Those guys have pushed each other.
01:02It was good to see Reese go operate some in there too.
01:05He needed that.
01:07But again, after Byron, we're young.
01:10And you're not going to expect to see me here in the fall give you an excuse of we're young
01:14so we've got to get old really quick with young guys.
