NASA rolls out key Artemis III rocket stage for 2027 Moon mission

NASA has rolled out a major section of its Space Launch System rocket for the Artemis III mission, set to launch in 2027. The core stage will be transported to Kennedy Space Center as part of preparations for a future crewed lunar landing.

00:20Oh, it's very exciting. You know, this is just the next big milestone.
00:24You know, and they're a big picture goal of returning humans to the surface of the moon.
00:30And, you know, getting Core Stage 3 out the door and preparing for Artemis 3 is a huge step in
00:34that direction.
00:46This represents the next iteration of the Artemis missions that we have planned to get our boots on the ground
00:50back to the lunar surface.
00:51And so it's a very special day for all of us here in southeast Louisiana.
00:55And I know we're all very proud to send it off and to see it go on to its next
00:59step of getting ready for launch next year.
