NASA has initiated the groundbreaking Artemis II mission, launching four astronauts on the first manned voyage around the Moon in over half a century. Aboard the robust Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and the Orion spacecraft, the crew will embark on a 10-day test flight, venturing thousands of miles beyond our planet.

Astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen will evaluate essential spacecraft functions, carry out manual tasks, and capture unique images of the Moon’s far side. This mission represents a significant advancement towards returning humans to the lunar surface and ultimately creating a sustainable presence on the Moon.

Artemis II is not solely focused on revisiting the Moon; it aims to equip humanity for the next phase of exploration, which includes future endeavors to Mars.
