00:00Breaking news coming in. This is related to the Hormuz blockade. It seems now a scam is also
00:07being propagated using this blockade. Scam messages offering ships safe transit through
00:14the Hormuz. Security firms are warning that and fraudulent messages are being sent. What do these
00:21messages say? They promise safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz but in exchange for cryptocurrency
00:27and these have been sent to some of the shipping companies whose vessels are stranded west of the
00:34waterway. Now this is big news coming in that someone is using this blockade to make money at
00:43this point of time. Now Greek maritime risk management firm has given out this warning. The US has maintained
00:50its blockade of Iranian ports while Iran has lifted and then reimposed its blockade of the Strait of
00:57Hormuz through which roughly a fifth of the world's oil and LPG which is liquid natural gas and LNG
01:04passes before it used to pass before the war broke out in the Middle East but what we know now
01:10is that
01:10there are fake messages being sent and these are being sent to the shipping companies whose ships are
01:16stranded in the Strait of Hormuz and that require that passage urgently. So clearly it is someone who
01:26is using this strait, the blockade of the strait as an opportunity to make profit. Somebody is
01:33profiting or trying to profit from the war, from the global situation that has right now arisen because
01:40of the tensions between Iran and US. The blockade, the dual blockade that we see because of Iran and US.
01:47there are scammers who are trying to utilize this as an opportunity to scam people. They are sending out
01:56messages to shipping companies. There are messages being received by shipping companies who say that
02:03these messages tell them, they assure them that they will be able to pass the Strait of Hormuz. But the
02:10security
02:11warning is now coming from a Greek maritime agency which is warning the shipping companies that don't fall
02:17prey for any such scams.
02:23To take this scam forward, what kind of payment are they demanding? They are saying give us cryptocurrency,
02:29clearly a way to ensure that there is no trail left. Shipping companies are being warned not to
02:37contact these people, not to try and take what they may think is an advantage of a situation.
02:44Right now, we had also heard reports of certain international agencies currently trying to ensure
02:49that they can get the seafarers away from there, somehow rescue them.
