00:00:00Rock the Block is back, and we're going all-in, Vegas style, with a bold new
00:00:10lineup. The stakes are higher than ever. They're betting on great design.
00:00:30Hoping to hit the renovation jackpot. Welcome to Vegas. It's time to rock a whole
00:00:41new block. This year celebrities with big design ambitions are paired up with HGTV
00:00:48pros. The team with the highest appraised value wins.
00:01:03I've done over a thousand renovation and design projects. I'm a reality star and Hulk Hogan's
00:01:10daughter. My design business is one of my most successful ventures. We're definitely
00:01:14going to get the win. 100%. I'm good at design. I don't want to participate in
00:01:20the trophy. I very much want to win. So I'm back for redemption. Football is a really
00:01:26important part of my life, but now I have an interior design company. I'm definitely in
00:01:30it to win it. Let's go.
00:01:34I designed restaurants for 20 years. I would love to bring that hospitality restaurant
00:01:41energy into the space. I'm best known for being a member of the Boy Band 98 Degrees. For
00:01:46the last 15 years, I have thrown myself into renovation and design. You've got a dynamic
00:01:51superpower. I'm always looking to do something that's a little bit cooler that pushes the envelope.
00:01:58I started out on Survivor, which is where I met Kim. I'm probably the least experienced. I'm
00:02:03very much outside the box when it comes to interior design. We're winning.
00:02:08Boop.
00:02:11You've been in Las Vegas. Thank you very much. Let's make it happen.
00:02:15Go!
00:02:16Nobody expects the Boy Band Ballroom Broadway guy to be the tile guy. Big risk, big reward.
00:02:21If I lose to any of you, I will be so embarrassed.
00:02:24It's got word around town of people that talk the most. Yeah?
00:02:26They don't have anything to bring to the table.
00:02:28Oh!
00:02:32Oh, wow. Bo.
00:02:34Just made me.
00:02:36Bright and cheery. Now this is my kind of office.
00:02:39I'm not a fan of the cabinets.
00:02:41Setting the mood in here.
00:02:43Lower the truth.
00:02:44Three!
00:02:44I wonder if my dad would be proud knowing that I'm doing this.
00:02:48Two!
00:02:49There's a reason nobody's done it before.
00:02:51One!
00:02:52This has to be the best moment of your life.
00:02:55Alongside having a child, it's up there.
00:02:57Which team is our big winner?
00:03:15Hello and welcome to Rock the Block!
00:03:18Yeah!
00:03:21We're going bigger and bolder than ever before
00:03:25because we're in Las Vegas, Nevada!
00:03:30Home of high stakes, big bets, and even bigger personalities.
00:03:34We're in North Vegas just a few minutes from the Strip.
00:03:37And just like a night on the Strip,
00:03:39every move you make could mean jackpot or bust.
00:03:42So this season, we've got four new incredible duos
00:03:46ready to gamble it all to achieve design glory.
00:03:50But there's a twist.
00:03:52For the first time ever, seasoned HGTV pros
00:03:55are teaming up with celebrity partners,
00:03:58each with experience and passion for design and renovation.
00:04:03Yeah!
00:04:05Can I get an amen over here?
00:04:07Yes!
00:04:08Welcome to the other side!
00:04:11So we've got Mina, season one Rock the Blocker.
00:04:14You're teamed with legendary, Super Bowl winning,
00:04:18tight end, Vernon Davis.
00:04:20Ow, ow!
00:04:20So I understand you're also kind of an artist?
00:04:22Yes, I am.
00:04:23Acrylic on canvas.
00:04:24Really?
00:04:25Yeah.
00:04:25This is exciting!
00:04:27Yeah, I guess you guys didn't know that about me, huh?
00:04:29Yeah, you're scared now, huh?
00:04:30All right.
00:04:30Okay.
00:04:31Mina, back to face the block.
00:04:33How are you feeling about that?
00:04:35A little stressed because I won absolutely nothing season one,
00:04:38so there's a little pressure, but...
00:04:39Listen, we'll try to keep it consistent for you
00:04:42and do the same thing this year.
00:04:43We're going to kick butt.
00:04:47Scott McGilleraire.
00:04:48Yes, sir.
00:04:49A pro among pros.
00:04:50You're teamed with Brooke Hogan.
00:04:52This baby right here.
00:04:54Yeah.
00:04:54Give her a round of applause.
00:04:56Thanks, guys.
00:04:57So, Brooke, you're a singer, artist, TV star,
00:04:59and also a designer in Nashville, right?
00:05:02Yes, I have my own business now for eight years.
00:05:04Nice.
00:05:05So, Scott, how many renovations have you done?
00:05:08Well over a thousand for sure.
00:05:09Ooh, well over a thousand.
00:05:11I love this.
00:05:12Oh, wow.
00:05:13Yeah.
00:05:14I love it.
00:05:15Listen, I'm here to cause a little bit of trouble,
00:05:17but also to shake things up.
00:05:19And I know my peers quite well, so not afraid.
00:05:22Hey.
00:05:23Wow.
00:05:25And I got a secret weapon.
00:05:26Yeah.
00:05:26And we have renowned designer Tanya Nyack.
00:05:31You're teamed with Drew Lachey from 98 Degrees to Broadway,
00:05:36avid DIYer and Dancing with the Stars champion,
00:05:44and in that competition, I took down one 49ers Jerry Rice.
00:05:47So, I'm looking forward to taking down another.
00:05:49Hey!
00:05:51There that was.
00:05:52Well, I knew what was going to happen.
00:05:53I knew these guys are going to come in and try to poke the bear.
00:05:56They got to poke their chests at you.
00:05:58Yeah, you know, it's cool.
00:05:59I'm the big little fish on the block.
00:06:01Now, I definitely feel like I have to elevate my game.
00:06:04So, what do you think of Tanya being on the block for the first time?
00:06:07I'm super pumped.
00:06:08I'm not a stranger to competition.
00:06:11I do restaurants.
00:06:12I do high-end residential.
00:06:13I'm going to merge the two with my boy here, Drew,
00:06:17and we're going to create some Vegas magic.
00:06:19We also have two literal survivors on the block.
00:06:24Yeah, you do.
00:06:24Yeah, you do.
00:06:25Of course, talking about Kim Wolfe and Chelsea Meisner.
00:06:28You guys were on Survivor together, right?
00:06:30Yeah.
00:06:30Yeah.
00:06:31Fifteen years ago, we met on a beach in Samoa.
00:06:34Not only are you a winning Survivor, but you're also an accomplished designer in your home state of Texas.
00:06:39I'm excited to be on the block.
00:06:41This is a dream, and I get to do it with one of my best friends.
00:06:43So, Chelsea, do you think you've got what it takes to survive this?
00:06:47I mean, if I can survive 39 days on a desolate island, I can definitely survive Rock the Block.
00:06:53Let's hope so.
00:06:53Maybe I'm going to eat my words on that, but we're time.
00:06:57All right.
00:06:58These are the largest single-story homes we've ever done.
00:07:02The footprint totals over 5,000 square feet.
00:07:06Like a house.
00:07:06Their current market value is 1.9 million.
00:07:11Oh.
00:07:11Dang.
00:07:11And you guys have $275,000 to transform these blank slate homes into your masterpieces.
00:07:20The team that adds the most appraised value at the end of the seven weeks wins epic bragging rights and
00:07:28a street sign with their name on it.
00:07:31Yeah.
00:07:35We'll once again be making a donation of 100,000 meals in your name to No Kid Hungry, a national
00:07:41campaign to end childhood hunger in America.
00:07:44Over the past six years, funds raised by Rock the Block helped provide over 600,000 meals.
00:07:50Love that.
00:07:51Awesome.
00:07:54You may have guessed by now, there are always new twists and turns on the block.
00:08:00And this time, it's no different.
00:08:02Oh, no.
00:08:03You still have just one week to complete each space.
00:08:07We will still assign a new space every week.
00:08:10The guest judge will still select the team they believe designed the space the best.
00:08:15The criteria that you'll be judged on are added value, overall design, and creativity.
00:08:20But you will need to use strategy more than ever before, because the winning team will have a choice.
00:08:27Win $3,000 and put it toward your designs the following week, or add $1,000 to your final appraisal
00:08:37at the end.
00:08:38Interesting.
00:08:39Almost every season on Rock the Block, the difference between first and second, under $10,000.
00:08:45That's a tough choice.
00:08:46Yeah.
00:08:46Oh, that would sting.
00:08:47To get to the end and lose by $1,000 when you could have put it, I mean, that's going
00:08:51to...
00:08:52But what if what we did with the $3,000 got us to the point where we were able to
00:08:55lose by $1,000?
00:08:56It's going to be our first domestic dispute, I can tell.
00:08:59The weekly judging will once again be blind, meaning you don't know who's coming to judge, and they won't know
00:09:05whose house they're in.
00:09:06More importantly, you won't be in the house with the judge to explain your choices or sell them on your
00:09:11space.
00:09:12I think across the board, not being able to give context to some of your choices is challenging, but I
00:09:17think it puts it all at an equal disadvantage.
00:09:20Oh, and one more thing. No more starting with the kitchens and dining rooms.
00:09:24Nope.
00:09:24This time, we'll begin with the main suite, including the bedroom, full bath, and closet.
00:09:31Ooh, okay.
00:09:32You'll also have to start work on your exteriors this week.
00:09:35Are you feeling competitive yet?
00:09:37I just want to kick all your asses.
00:09:39I got to tell you, like, I'll deal with it.
00:09:41I love when people are cocky right off the rip.
00:09:44It just makes it more fun to take the loud ones out.
00:09:47And remember, each team will receive their furniture and decor from Wayfair.
00:09:51Let's go!
00:09:55On my go, you'll head into your houses.
00:09:58Check it all out.
00:09:59Look at everything you're going to be dealing with for the next several weeks.
00:10:02Then, focus on the main suite.
00:10:05Are you guys ready?
00:10:07Yes!
00:10:07Yes!
00:10:07Ready!
00:10:08Go!
00:10:08Well then, rock the block!
00:10:10Start!
00:10:11No!
00:10:13Let's hit it, team!
00:10:14Let's hit it!
00:10:15Are you ready?
00:10:19Are you ready?
00:10:20Are you ready?
00:10:22Are you ready?
00:10:23Are you ready?
00:10:23Are you ready?
00:10:26Are you ready?
00:10:27Are you ready?
00:10:37Oh, my God.
00:10:38Oh, I like this.
00:10:40Wow.
00:10:40This is cool.
00:10:41Yeah, this is cool.
00:10:44This is going to be so fun to design.
00:10:46We're nature girls, and we love outdoors in and indoors out, so that's such a killer moment
00:10:51to get to do that and do it well.
00:10:53Yeah.
00:10:53You ready for the big mamma jamma?
00:10:55All right.
00:10:56Yeah.
00:10:57Drum roll.
00:10:58This door is, like, twice as big as I am.
00:11:01Whoa!
00:11:02This is big.
00:11:04This is crazy.
00:11:06This is huge.
00:11:09This is a decent-sized kitchen.
00:11:11It goes out to the back, which I like to have that off the kitchen.
00:11:15Beautiful.
00:11:16Where are you going?
00:11:18Taking big steps through a big house.
00:11:20I'm feeling like Jack with the Beanstalk.
00:11:23I mean, these doors are gigantic.
00:11:24It's a cavernous, open concept.
00:11:28Anything's possible.
00:11:33This has got to be the garage.
00:11:36That makes sense.
00:11:36So this is mudroom laundry.
00:11:38What is this door?
00:11:39Interesting.
00:11:41What?
00:11:42What in the world?
00:11:43Oh, wow.
00:11:47Whoa!
00:11:48Whoa!
00:11:48I feel like I'm in an event space.
00:11:50I've never seen anything like this before.
00:11:52This is totally throwing me for a loop.
00:11:54I did not expect an RV garage.
00:11:56It's got lots of potential.
00:11:57I mean, just the square footage alone.
00:11:59The RV garage?
00:12:01That's, uh...
00:12:02Intriguing.
00:12:03That's gonna be an interesting nut to crack.
00:12:04All right.
00:12:05Let's go dig into the primary.
00:12:09Ooh.
00:12:10What?
00:12:12Oh!
00:12:13What is this?
00:12:15Um...
00:12:15We just got to Vegas.
00:12:17Whoa!
00:12:18Yeah!
00:12:18This is...
00:12:19This is, uh...
00:12:20Ridiculous.
00:12:21It's like a rotunda.
00:12:22What an odd entrance to the main suite.
00:12:25This is weird.
00:12:27I hope you don't love it, because I hate it.
00:12:29It's just useless.
00:12:31Oh, this is cool.
00:12:32Oh, my gosh.
00:12:33All my dreams are coming true.
00:12:35Should we do, like, a Leonardo da Vinci thing?
00:12:37Oh.
00:12:37Oh, boy.
00:12:38This could be a pole room.
00:12:40You could be on a stripper pole in here.
00:12:42What have I signed up for?
00:12:44I'm not happy about this.
00:12:46Welcome to Absinthe.
00:12:47Woo!
00:12:48Oh, my God.
00:12:49Oh, my God.
00:12:51Oh, my God.
00:12:51Oh, my God.
00:12:52I don't know that we're gonna be able to squeeze $2,000 to run a gas line.
00:12:56If I lose to any of you, I will be so embarrassed.
00:13:00Watch the wall.
00:13:01Oh, my God.
00:13:03This is the most stressful thing.
00:13:17This is a very odd way to transition between rooms.
00:13:22Getting to know you.
00:13:23I feel like someone's following me.
00:13:27We're going into this, and I didn't know that it was gonna be as unlikely of a pairing as we
00:13:34potentially are.
00:13:35Yeah.
00:13:36What's bringing you to the block?
00:13:37A fresh start for my life.
00:13:39I feel like I've been through so much, and I've been doing my design business quietly, and I kind of
00:13:45just let the narrative be whatever people want to say.
00:13:48It was actually my husband that inspired me to say, Brooke, you need to tell people your story, and you
00:13:53need to not be afraid to share it.
00:13:55A lot of people don't know that I've had my own design business for about eight years, decorating short-term
00:13:59rentals in Nashville.
00:14:01I'm not just Hulk Hogan's daughter, so rock the block is my chance to prove, like, I do have design
00:14:06chops.
00:14:06I came here because I've done a lot of other things for other people, been helping people with vacation properties,
00:14:12income properties, their own properties.
00:14:14And I'm ready to get on the biggest real estate competition and show people what's possible.
00:14:21Yeah.
00:14:22How are you feeling about rock the block?
00:14:23Normally, it's like crawl, walk, run.
00:14:25You're like, I'm just gonna start with a sprint.
00:14:27Start running.
00:14:28I feel like that's kind of what I've done my whole life, though, right?
00:14:30It's like you have to go 100 miles an hour at it.
00:14:32That's kind of my personality, so I'm not nervous.
00:14:35Great.
00:14:35Are you nervous?
00:14:36Well, now I'm nervous because I'm like a prepare, plan, execute.
00:14:41Yeah, we gotta wing it, man.
00:14:42You're my wild card.
00:14:43I would never pick the two of us as a partnership.
00:14:47And I think this is going to be a struggle for both of us.
00:14:51But if we can take the energy and the passion that you have with the experience and guidance that I'm
00:14:56hoping to bring to the table,
00:14:57I think that we're gonna rack up a bunch of wins along the way.
00:15:00Cheers to a fresh start.
00:15:02And win in the block.
00:15:04Win in the block, baby.
00:15:05This is the worst entrance ever.
00:15:07The current layout of the main suite is a waste of valuable square footage.
00:15:11You walk in, and there's this rotunda before you even get into the main suite.
00:15:16Then to the right is the bedroom, and to the left is the bathroom and closet.
00:15:20We need to fix this.
00:15:22Let's look at the bedroom now.
00:15:23Let's see what that does to our plan.
00:15:25Okay.
00:15:25Oh, look at that.
00:15:28Covered yard.
00:15:29Ooh, pretty.
00:15:30What I'm thinking is I'm visualizing the center of it not being center, and I'm picturing this is where I'm
00:15:37laying in bed.
00:15:38Yeah.
00:15:38Center with that wall.
00:15:39Okay.
00:15:40Let's ideate.
00:15:42You're gonna get so dirty.
00:15:43It's all right.
00:15:44I'm dirty.
00:15:45Okay.
00:15:45All right.
00:15:45We're lying in bed.
00:15:48Everything's big in Vegas.
00:15:49So let's keep this nice and high so it feels like grandiose Vegas.
00:15:54Yes.
00:15:55So we drop the ceiling here and we do tray ceiling there.
00:15:58I like that.
00:15:59Chandelier.
00:15:59Fireplace.
00:16:00It's already hot.
00:16:01We're in Vegas.
00:16:02But it gets cold here, too.
00:16:03And people like to cozy up.
00:16:05It's sexy.
00:16:06Okay.
00:16:07Fireplace.
00:16:07Do we want to start arching stuff?
00:16:10Yes.
00:16:10I love arching everything.
00:16:11Let's arch this down.
00:16:13Okay.
00:16:13And then we just need a moment over here.
00:16:15You know when you get a nice hotel room?
00:16:16Yeah.
00:16:17There's always a little seating area.
00:16:18I like that.
00:16:19We get rid of this wall.
00:16:21Okay.
00:16:21We get rid of this.
00:16:22Right.
00:16:23We delete this.
00:16:24And I'm thinking I just delete everything on this side.
00:16:27So that when you walk into the bedroom door, you can actually get into the bedroom.
00:16:30Get into the bedroom instead of doing a maze.
00:16:31Without going for a maze.
00:16:33Right.
00:16:33I'm in.
00:16:34Put me in coach.
00:16:35I like it.
00:16:35I like what that does to the closet.
00:16:37Okay.
00:16:37I feel like you're designing a house for me.
00:16:39That's.
00:16:39I'm living vicariously.
00:16:41You're our client.
00:16:42Yes.
00:16:42What's your dream closet?
00:16:44My dream closet is that of like a designer store.
00:16:47Right?
00:16:48All the LED lighting, the glass, the sexy cabinets.
00:16:51Like it needs to look like a store.
00:16:53Okay.
00:16:53Then let's make that happen.
00:16:54Okay.
00:16:55I think we start by increasing the size of the closet.
00:16:59This is all going to go.
00:17:01Bye bye.
00:17:03Here's the game changer.
00:17:04Okay.
00:17:05I think we don't even put a wall back.
00:17:07I think we leave it like an open display case.
00:17:09So when you walk into the primary bedroom, it looks like there's a store in here.
00:17:13Can we do like an island where you can like see down into your jewelry?
00:17:16Yes.
00:17:17We do an island in the middle that'll anchor the space.
00:17:20Nobody's going to have as much closet as this.
00:17:21I like that.
00:17:22That's good.
00:17:23Good thinking.
00:17:24Let's break this bathroom.
00:17:25Oh my gosh.
00:17:27What is happening here?
00:17:29Is this all a shower?
00:17:30What if we put a sauna in?
00:17:32That's a good call.
00:17:33If this bathroom is going to meet the caliber of everything else that we're doing, we have
00:17:38to find room for maybe a tub, a shower, and a sauna.
00:17:41You could almost fit the tub, shower, sauna this way.
00:17:44All right.
00:17:45I think we do a salt wall for the sauna.
00:17:47Yeah.
00:17:47I'm a big fan of the leash tile.
00:17:49But if we do sauna over here, you're going to have like a cedar wall.
00:17:53Right.
00:17:53You got to pick something neutral, like a white.
00:17:55Yes.
00:17:56Double vanity.
00:17:57And I'm picturing cut out arches for the vanity.
00:18:00It's starting to feel modern, but the arch is going to be our...
00:18:05Gives you that hacienda, gives you that Mexican Pueblo kind of feel.
00:18:09Like a modern hacienda?
00:18:10I like that.
00:18:12That's a good vibe.
00:18:13We're on track to spend between $60,000 and $70,000.
00:18:17So just so you're aware, I think it's important that we have this conversation now.
00:18:21I want to be pragmatic.
00:18:22I feel like I'm in trouble.
00:18:23We need to budget.
00:18:26No!
00:18:26We are a renovation family now.
00:18:28Oh, no.
00:18:29Okay.
00:18:29We'll budget.
00:18:30Let's get to work.
00:18:31Okay.
00:18:31We're already wasting time.
00:18:32Let's smash some stuff.
00:18:33And time is money.
00:18:37This looks like the bedroom space, right?
00:18:39This is not doing it for me.
00:18:41It needs to be more open.
00:18:43Yeah.
00:18:43Like this wall shouldn't be there.
00:18:45Well, I think the bathroom's on the other side.
00:18:47Yeah, but it should be...
00:18:48Bathroom and closet we're still looking for.
00:18:49I'm not happy about this.
00:18:51Holy cow!
00:18:52Closet?
00:18:53Okay.
00:18:54Which I feel like is big.
00:18:56You couldn't fit the third of your shoe collection in here.
00:19:00How do you know about my shoe collection?
00:19:01Because I stalk you on Instagram.
00:19:03Oh, my God.
00:19:04I saw your shoe collection.
00:19:05You have a problem, my friend.
00:19:07Oh, my goodness.
00:19:07We're at the beginning.
00:19:08It's like a new relationship.
00:19:09It's all sunshine and roses and we love each other and it's great.
00:19:12Maybe in a week he's going to be like, done with her.
00:19:15We don't know each other that well yet.
00:19:16The minute I found out that you were my teammate,
00:19:19I was psyched because you have way more to you than football.
00:19:22I think the other teams will underestimate us just because of me.
00:19:25They probably look at me as, oh, this former football player.
00:19:29I don't think anyone looks at you in that tone of voice.
00:19:31I love design.
00:19:32I flip homes.
00:19:33And I actually started a company called Modern Class Design.
00:19:35I started flipping houses years back when I was playing football.
00:19:38And when I retired, I started doing it more.
00:19:41Do you do like the floor plan, the design selections, like all of that?
00:19:44Yeah, I do everything.
00:19:45I pick out all the material.
00:19:46I'm here because I am a true artist.
00:19:49I'm a creator.
00:19:50I went to school for fine arts.
00:19:51I learned how to paint.
00:19:52I feel like a house is the same thing.
00:19:54If you have a blank canvas, it's up to you to add the pieces where they need to be.
00:19:57You're in Indy, right?
00:19:59Yes, Indianapolis.
00:20:00Yeah, where I worked very transitional.
00:20:02So every single house I've done has had to be very specific with appraised value.
00:20:07That's my jam.
00:20:08It is taking a small budget and making the most of it.
00:20:12I think it's going to be interesting to see how our design styles mesh where we agree, like where we
00:20:17don't.
00:20:18I'm just going to enjoy the process because I know that I'm going to be able to take so much
00:20:21away from this by learning from Mina.
00:20:23That'll help make me better when it comes to my designs, my builds.
00:20:26We're coming for that sign.
00:20:28Oh, my God.
00:20:29I hope I catch it.
00:20:31Oh, touchdown.
00:20:33Mina Vernon Boulevard.
00:20:35Let's go.
00:20:38I think it's a family home.
00:20:40So I think it needs to be a place that's, like, comfortable.
00:20:45Not too fancy pants, sharp quarters.
00:20:48I think this layout works.
00:20:50I think I like it.
00:20:51I like the different compartments.
00:20:52Yeah.
00:20:53The shower, the tub, right there.
00:20:55I mean, this wet room space is a good size.
00:20:57I'm not a stranger to taking care of my body.
00:21:00I played 14 years as a professional athlete, and I always had a steam unit.
00:21:04Think about relaxation.
00:21:05Yeah.
00:21:05You come in your bathroom, you want to feel like you're at a spa.
00:21:08Yeah.
00:21:08Right?
00:21:09The steam showers, I think, clutch.
00:21:11I think that's going to add some value, and not everyone's going to have that.
00:21:14So in our wet room, adding a steam shower, a tub in front of the window, and glass it
00:21:19all in, and then just do a tile floor.
00:21:21I like that.
00:21:22Big chunk of vanity.
00:21:24All the way across.
00:21:25Yeah.
00:21:25With cabinets going up on the side.
00:21:27That's a great idea.
00:21:29I want to figure out the closet.
00:21:31Can we get rid of this rotunda?
00:21:34Because this is the back side of that.
00:21:36Oh, yeah.
00:21:36That got to go.
00:21:36We just then get rid of this, and we could maybe even still do curb, and then deck in
00:21:43it out with some custom built-ins.
00:21:45And I think it might be cool to have a washer and dryer in here.
00:21:49All right.
00:21:50Main bedroom.
00:21:51So I know it's not as big, but I think I would put the bed here.
00:21:55Exactly.
00:21:56Nice, tall headboard.
00:21:58Ooh, what about a fire pit right there?
00:22:00I mean, I would like to have that in my bedroom.
00:22:02What are you thinking?
00:22:03See-through.
00:22:04Like a double-sided one?
00:22:05Yep.
00:22:06That's very Vegas.
00:22:08Are you thinking one of those long, linear ones?
00:22:10Because my concern would be the plumbing.
00:22:12So there's obviously some plumbing roughed in.
00:22:14Yep.
00:22:15But if the plumbing is either not in the way or we can afford to move it, that would be
00:22:20cool.
00:22:21Well, we can crunch the numbers and kind of see what it comes out.
00:22:23I think we want to spend enough of our budget that we've got wow in here.
00:22:27I would like to spend 40.
00:22:29I think realistically we're probably closer to like 60, 65.
00:22:33Maybe we should cap it at 60.
00:22:34I feel like we can do that.
00:22:36Yeah.
00:22:36I think the changes we're going to make out there are giving us a little more room, a little
00:22:40more flow like through the spaces.
00:22:42It's going to fit in with our goal of making it more comfortable of a space.
00:22:45Comfortable, but elegant.
00:22:47That's how we win the block.
00:22:48Let's do it.
00:22:49Oh!
00:22:50I'm going to go down one of these times.
00:22:53I can handle it.
00:22:54You ready?
00:22:55We are ready.
00:23:01I think we're going to win.
00:23:02I don't like to lose.
00:23:03It's not about winning or losing because when all of our competitors lose, we want to be
00:23:07sympathetic to them.
00:23:08True.
00:23:09We empathize with you.
00:23:10I mean, we don't understand because-
00:23:12We're not losers.
00:23:13If our competition isn't scared yet, they're about to be.
00:23:21I think week one of anything is important.
00:23:24I like to think of it as football.
00:23:25If you can get a good start and get that momentum going, you know everything's going to go smoothly.
00:23:29So winning week one to me is imperative.
00:23:35Should we tackle the bathroom first?
00:23:38Wow.
00:23:39Ooh, look at this.
00:23:41Karaoke stage.
00:23:42Yeah.
00:23:44Bathtub karaoke.
00:23:45That's a whole new thing.
00:23:46But what do you think about the layout?
00:23:48Do you think we should switch it up a little?
00:23:49I mean, I obviously don't want it to look like everybody else's, but-
00:23:54You start moving plumbing, you start moving drains, you start getting into lots of extra time, lots of extra money.
00:24:00I already hear the practical side of Drew coming up.
00:24:03When I heard that I was being teamed up with Drew Lachey, the whole 16-year-old fangirl, Tanya, just
00:24:10was-
00:24:11I was freaking out.
00:24:12Well, cheers.
00:24:12I'm pumped.
00:24:13I'm so glad that you're my teammate.
00:24:15Me too.
00:24:16You know, renovation has been something that I've been passionate about for a long time.
00:24:19Where did that come from?
00:24:20I got scammed once.
00:24:21By a contractor?
00:24:22I got scammed by a contractor.
00:24:23And I vowed at that moment that I would never let it happen again.
00:24:26So I started trying to learn everything I could about the renovation and construction and how my house works.
00:24:30So I'd never be the sucker again.
00:24:32And that turned into me being the go-to guy for all my friends and family, you know, when they
00:24:36have something they need to fix.
00:24:38So for me, it's been a goal to get on here and show that I can do this.
00:24:42I'm coming to Rock the Block to make a name for myself.
00:24:45This is a space that I want to be in.
00:24:47This is something I feel strongly about.
00:24:48This is something that I want to win.
00:24:50It's just so wild for me to be able to do Rock the Block right now because I've had the
00:24:54opportunity to show my work, but not at this level.
00:24:58Right.
00:24:58I've served as a mentor on competition shows, but I've had a design firm for over 20 years.
00:25:04And I think a lot of people don't realize that we design a lot of restaurants.
00:25:07My specialty is hospitality.
00:25:09And I always feel like there's that whimsy of people going out to dinner and like wishing that they could
00:25:15take some of that and put it into their homes.
00:25:18But I like also to have longevity to it. I don't want it to be too trendy.
00:25:22This is the best of both worlds.
00:25:25Yeah.
00:25:25Like I can kind of do what I do.
00:25:27You do what you do.
00:25:27And then we can kind of overlap where we can.
00:25:30Our own little yin and yang.
00:25:31Between what Drew knows from construction and what I know in design, I just feel like we're a dream duo.
00:25:36I'm not going to say we're the team to beat, but we're the team to beat.
00:25:41I want it to feel like some of these resorts on the strip without being so specific and like gaudy.
00:25:48Yes, I'm down.
00:25:50This to me just feels like a lot of space.
00:25:53Love the idea of a tub here.
00:25:55Hell yes.
00:25:56And on this side, shower heads.
00:25:58Yep.
00:25:59If we open a door here, I think it'll add value to do that.
00:26:02More glass, the better.
00:26:03So we'll be French doors right here.
00:26:05And on this wall?
00:26:06Big full vanity.
00:26:07Maybe we run a long cabinet here.
00:26:10Yep.
00:26:10We just have to slay it with the finishes.
00:26:13If we're not changing the plumbing, then this place has to look like a penthouse suite.
00:26:18You want to go take a look at the closet?
00:26:20Let's do it.
00:26:21It's a big closet.
00:26:22I mean, we're almost 16 feet.
00:26:23It's a huge closet.
00:26:25Yeah.
00:26:26For me.
00:26:27But I think there's only one closet, so it would have to be shared.
00:26:31How do we divide this up?
00:26:32I'm a little concerned about the layout because we lose a lot of real estate with this thing.
00:26:39It's like a rotunda.
00:26:41I don't like it from the outside, and I don't like it from the inside.
00:26:44Yeah.
00:26:44I think we just get rid of it.
00:26:45Like, why don't we make a bigger closet and fit it out with a custom built-in closet?
00:26:51There is a lot of height, so you could do multiple tiers.
00:26:55I don't want to waste the money for shelves that no one can ever access.
00:26:59Okay.
00:27:00We could do some sort of island, and maybe that's dresser drawers.
00:27:04Yeah.
00:27:05All right, so this is the primary bedroom.
00:27:08Okay.
00:27:08It's decent size.
00:27:10I want it to feel like you walk in it, and it just feels like it's a warm hug.
00:27:14Intimate and cozy.
00:27:16I like that idea, and right now it does not feel like a warm hug at all.
00:27:19No.
00:27:19Not at all.
00:27:20I have a real aversion to color, but I feel like it's our first challenge, and I want
00:27:25to challenge ourselves here, and maybe we don't do neutral.
00:27:31Are you talking about, like, AWOL, or are you talking about—
00:27:34If we're doing color, then we do color.
00:27:41That scares me.
00:27:43It's terrifying.
00:27:44If you have a favorite color, what would it be?
00:27:48Blue.
00:27:48Blue.
00:27:49So what if we wallpaper it?
00:27:51Okay.
00:27:51And then that way, the wallpaper could have maybe, like, a texture.
00:27:54Okay.
00:27:55Sounds like a warm hug.
00:27:56All right, so if the bed is centered on that wall—
00:27:58Yeah.
00:27:59What do you think about a fireplace?
00:28:00We live in Vegas.
00:28:01Do we need a fireplace?
00:28:02Yeah, but it's freezing at night.
00:28:03Okay.
00:28:04Built-ins over here.
00:28:05Okay.
00:28:07So what do you think?
00:28:08How much should we allocate for all of these spaces?
00:28:11We're at least 40-plus.
00:28:13Yeah.
00:28:14At least.
00:28:15All the cabinetry in the closet.
00:28:16Don't forget, we're not changing plumbing.
00:28:17We're not changing plumbing, which will save us several thousand dollars.
00:28:21Right.
00:28:21And remember, we won't need any glass for the shower, and I'll make sure I find us a tile
00:28:25that doesn't cost as much money.
00:28:27It could bring home the big win.
00:28:29I think so.
00:28:30All right.
00:28:30We got a good plan here.
00:28:32You sure you don't want to go beige?
00:28:34Don't tease me.
00:28:35Don't tease me.
00:28:44Let's go to the bathroom.
00:28:46Interesting.
00:28:47I don't love that all these windows are open to what should feel like private.
00:28:52Mm-hmm.
00:28:53I think I like my bathroom to feel a little cozier.
00:28:56Yeah.
00:28:57Who's our ideal buyer?
00:28:59People like us.
00:29:01Yeah.
00:29:01This is crazy, right?
00:29:03Here we are.
00:29:03We get to go and do this crazy competition together.
00:29:07Who would have thought that we are on Rock the Block together?
00:29:10It's been a while since we've competed.
00:29:13We're middle-aged now.
00:29:14So much has changed.
00:29:15We met on Survivor, but then one of the things that keeps us connected is our love of design.
00:29:21Kim has already helped me renovate two homes.
00:29:24So we've picked out wallpaper together.
00:29:26We've picked out tile together.
00:29:28Yeah.
00:29:28We've come up with a budget and blown it together.
00:29:31Yeah.
00:29:31I know you have all the confidence in the world because this is what you live and breathe every day,
00:29:36but I don't live and breathe this every day.
00:29:38So I'm a little nervous that I'm going to slow you down.
00:29:41I'm a hairstylist by trade.
00:29:43It's an art form.
00:29:44I feel like I'm more of an artist than an interior designer.
00:29:47So I feel like I have something to prove to myself that I have what it takes to do a
00:29:53design like this and make big decisions.
00:29:56I think I always kind of feel like I have something to prove.
00:29:59I'm always looking to do something that's just a little bit cooler, that pushes the envelope just a little bit
00:30:04more.
00:30:04And I love partnering with Chelsea in this because I feel like when I work with Chelsea, I do my
00:30:09best work because she has an excellent standard.
00:30:12And so I'm trying to help design to her standards.
00:30:14And then we're just going like this, you know, we're winning.
00:30:19What do you think about moving the shower around and not having the tub in with the shower?
00:30:24Yeah, I don't want the tub shower combo.
00:30:26I'm with you.
00:30:26This feels like too much space for this.
00:30:28Yep.
00:30:28What do you think about putting a fireplace in here?
00:30:31I mean, love that.
00:30:32Do you like that?
00:30:32Think about how cozy that would be to be in a tub with a fireplace next to you.
00:30:36It's kind of like a sexy thing going on.
00:30:38I think it's super sexy.
00:30:39Okay.
00:30:40So this window goes.
00:30:42Yeah.
00:30:43Move this window over.
00:30:45Right.
00:30:45Fireplace in the middle.
00:30:47Two vanities.
00:30:48And then the tub just floats here.
00:30:50I like that.
00:30:50We can push the shower here.
00:30:52Yeah.
00:30:53Right.
00:30:53And then toilet closet right here.
00:30:55Okay.
00:30:55And then this has got to be closet.
00:30:57Yep.
00:30:58The angles are wild in here.
00:31:00Well, it's the rotunda.
00:31:01This has to go.
00:31:02Yeah.
00:31:02I do feel like the closet needs like a little bit of sex appeal too.
00:31:06Totally.
00:31:06Totally.
00:31:06I love a great closet.
00:31:08Like I want it to feel like a Cuban cigar box.
00:31:11Cool.
00:31:12You know what I mean?
00:31:13I know exactly what you mean.
00:31:14Maybe do a his and her situation.
00:31:16Like there's enough room.
00:31:18Great.
00:31:18Where it's all wood.
00:31:19We do like a green chartreuse wallpaper.
00:31:22Love.
00:31:23Island for extra storage.
00:31:25Love that.
00:31:25This big wall.
00:31:27Yeah.
00:31:27Is this the big garage space?
00:31:30Yeah.
00:31:31I would want to be connected to whatever usable square footage we convert that into.
00:31:36That makes total sense.
00:31:38So we can do something styly and cool so it's not just like a big door in the middle of
00:31:41our closet.
00:31:41We can make it discreet.
00:31:43I think that's smart.
00:31:44Let's go look at the bedroom.
00:31:45Okay.
00:31:48Oh, wow.
00:31:49This is a big room.
00:31:50It's just a square.
00:31:51I know.
00:31:52So I think we have to get really creative in here.
00:31:54It doesn't have any oomph.
00:31:56Yeah.
00:31:56It just feels kind of blasey.
00:31:57There's no personality to this room at all.
00:31:59You know when you go into just like a really killer hotel and they have that great headboard
00:32:05wall.
00:32:05You like that?
00:32:06I do.
00:32:07If there's a way that we can bring like a curvature in and we end here.
00:32:11I like that.
00:32:12So this would be the center of the bed.
00:32:15Nightstand.
00:32:16Yeah.
00:32:16Pendant.
00:32:17Curtains.
00:32:17And then this wall.
00:32:19What would make this feel peaceful to you?
00:32:21I mean, do you do another fireplace in here?
00:32:23It's a lot.
00:32:23I mean, I don't think you can have too many if they're done well.
00:32:26It's like fireplace off center, which I love.
00:32:29I like that.
00:32:30Uh-oh.
00:32:31That's maybe a little too hotel-y for me.
00:32:34All right.
00:32:35Maybe we just filled in some kind of a desk area.
00:32:38I like it.
00:32:38How would you describe our design?
00:32:40I do think we're saying sexy a lot.
00:32:42We are.
00:32:43And I think Vegas is sexy and we do want to bring that to the house.
00:32:46Yep.
00:32:46I feel like our color palette is going to be like more masculine.
00:32:50Okay.
00:32:51Kind of smoky colors.
00:32:53Mm-hmm.
00:32:53Is smoky sexy?
00:32:54Is that our vibe?
00:32:55Okay.
00:32:56How much do you think this is going to cost us?
00:32:58I mean, when I think about all three spaces, I feel like we can do this for around $65,000,
00:33:02$70,000.
00:33:03Okay.
00:33:04It's a lot.
00:33:04But this is an important space.
00:33:06Very important space.
00:33:06And I really want to win this space.
00:33:08Thanks.
00:33:08Let's go do it.
00:33:09Let's get started.
00:33:10I'm ready to demo.
00:33:11Gonna take out my frustration on this wall.
00:33:13Here we go.
00:33:15Yeah!
00:33:18The one thing that I think makes this dynamic of the two of us really cool and special is that
00:33:24you're all about Livable.
00:33:26He brings the Livable to it, and I think that I'm bringing the design aesthetic, which is bringing the Luxe,
00:33:31that Las Vegas Luxe.
00:33:33So the pairing together is going to be epic.
00:33:36Team Livable Luxe.
00:33:40I totally think we have a leg up with our shared history, not only on Survivor, but already designing together.
00:33:46Some of these teams are meeting each other for the first time, and so they don't have that chemistry.
00:33:50There's a lot of room for conflict, and I think we feel confident that we can navigate this very well
00:33:55together.
00:33:56We're about to see what we're made of.
00:34:10Let's dry fit, and then we'll cut.
00:34:13This is a full barrel ceiling.
00:34:15Yeah.
00:34:15So we'll get one arch on this side, the other arch on the other side, we'll round our drywall, and
00:34:21we'll do an effect on it.
00:34:22I like it.
00:34:23I'm glad that we committed to the arches, though, because now everything looks kind of like Mediterranean sexy.
00:34:28Aren't you happy that I'm your partner?
00:34:32You like that one?
00:34:33I think we're a really good match. I honestly do.
00:34:35You know, you said something that stuck with me.
00:34:37Mm-hmm.
00:34:38You said, I'm here to tell my story.
00:34:41Half of me is like, I can't believe I'm here. I can't believe that design is what I ended up
00:34:46doing.
00:34:47I wonder if, like, my dad would be proud and be like, this is cool, because I was never, like,
00:34:52wanting to take daddy's money.
00:34:56So when I was building my business, I was really building it with, like, no capital, no help from anybody
00:35:02else.
00:35:03What I think a lot of people don't know is I've never been somebody that worked off my dad's money.
00:35:08Like, my parents got me to a certain point, obviously.
00:35:10We had the TV show, but the second that I got Brooke Knows Best, I was off on my own.
00:35:16But then the second TV stopped, I was like, I don't know what I'm doing with my life.
00:35:20And then moved a million times because I didn't know where I belonged.
00:35:23And I finally landed in Nashville and started this design business decorating short-term rentals.
00:35:28And it was really, like, a struggle in the beginning.
00:35:31There was a time when I thought it was just going to go under, because I was, like, spending more
00:35:34than I was making
00:35:35and didn't have a lot in savings.
00:35:37And I was like, this is either going to make or break me.
00:35:39I actually even waited tables in Nashville at one point.
00:35:42I was working 23-hour days and, like, living on coffee and protein bars.
00:35:46And then I started loving it.
00:35:47And it became something I was really good at and really proud of.
00:35:51And we became one of the top design firms in Nashville.
00:35:53It's interesting.
00:35:54I don't think anybody really understands, like, what we do, because it's in Nashville and it's away from everybody.
00:35:59Half the family's in California, half is in Florida.
00:36:01And it's like, I'm just kind of like the Lone Ranger.
00:36:03I think your journey is just beginning.
00:36:05A lot of twists and turns.
00:36:07Mm-hmm.
00:36:07You know?
00:36:08I know, like, you're blazing your own trail, which is wild.
00:36:11Yeah.
00:36:11I don't know if I'm, like, dealing with everything great or if I just keep diving into work and that's,
00:36:16like, what's saving me.
00:36:18I got called to do Rock the Block long before my dad passed.
00:36:21But, obviously, I didn't tell him that I had it because we weren't talking.
00:36:25But I told my husband, I was like, I wonder, I wonder if my dad would be proud knowing that
00:36:30I'm doing this.
00:36:31You know, I wonder if he was the one that told me to get my real estate license.
00:36:34You've got a talent.
00:36:35I'm sure he would be super proud of you.
00:36:37I hope he is proud.
00:36:44You are a good dad.
00:36:46I can feel the dad energy.
00:36:48Let's cut some arches.
00:36:51Look at how good we're doing.
00:36:52You're doing a great job.
00:36:55Nice.
00:36:56And just like that, you got your dad's mustache.
00:36:59Hey, brother, I like it.
00:37:02All right.
00:37:03Cute.
00:37:03Let's make a barrel ceiling.
00:37:05We really wanted to open up the space without moving, like, significant structural walls.
00:37:09And I think this is really working.
00:37:10But we're taking out that rotunda.
00:37:12It's not structural, so it's not a super expensive removal.
00:37:14And we actually are making the closet bigger.
00:37:16We're going to keep a little bit of a curve on the wall to bring a little bit of drama
00:37:20and glamour and make it feel very Vegas.
00:37:22So now we've got the super cool curved wall where we have, like, our, like, dressing bar, big mirror, a
00:37:28couple sconces.
00:37:29We just got to get the curved drywall up.
00:37:30Just score the lines and you want to go.
00:37:33Oh, man, you know I've played football for 14 years.
00:37:35I need a knee pad or something down here.
00:37:36Got them good knees.
00:37:37Even though it's a small thing where we're taking some of the 90 vertical corners and softening them with rounded
00:37:42edges are just going to be these nice little details that people notice.
00:37:46And not, like, crazy value on the appraisal, but it's all customizations.
00:37:50And that's going to add a little bit of value here and there.
00:37:53All right.
00:37:55Ooh, that's a nice bend.
00:37:57Everybody loves customization.
00:37:58It's nothing like walking to a home and feeling like your home is totally different than everyone else's.
00:38:03I love it.
00:38:03Gosh, that's a great curve.
00:38:05Makes me think about when I was running track and running around that curve.
00:38:07Now you're bending.
00:38:09Oh, I don't know why I'm thinking about that right now. I don't know.
00:38:15What do you think of the leopard fabric?
00:38:19Does that scream Vegas to you or what?
00:38:22It screams something.
00:38:24Well, I don't know.
00:38:25Yeah, exactly.
00:38:26I don't know.
00:38:27No, I think this with the color that we have on the wall, definitely going to make a statement.
00:38:32Yes.
00:38:33I am so pumped about it.
00:38:36The headboard.
00:38:37It's swanky.
00:38:38It's swanky.
00:38:39It's extra.
00:38:40We are stepping outside of our comfort zone.
00:38:43I have never done a blue room before.
00:38:45I'm a little nervous.
00:38:47This fabric, by the way, was a splurge.
00:38:50I'm not going to tell you how much.
00:38:52Just know it's going to work and it's going to win.
00:38:54Newbie, I'm here.
00:38:55I'm here for you.
00:38:56You're just going to trust me a little bit.
00:38:58Every time she says splurge, I break out in hives.
00:39:02I'm going to my sewing machine.
00:39:04All right.
00:39:04Watch your fingers.
00:39:15The biggest closet I've ever seen in my life.
00:39:19Massive.
00:39:19We'll bring it all, cozy it in with the dark wood.
00:39:23Uh-huh.
00:39:23This is the exact color of your eyes.
00:39:25This is a risk.
00:39:26This is a risk.
00:39:28I think it's awesome.
00:39:29With the pewter and the wood and the smoky mirrors.
00:39:34I mean, this is going to be so cool.
00:39:37I feel like in design, I do some risky stuff.
00:39:40Usually it's just like a wallpaper, a funky wallpaper that might not be for everyone, but I love it.
00:39:45A lot of people don't put the wallpaper on the ceiling because it is an extra expense.
00:39:49But to me, it always feels more finished when the ceiling is papered.
00:39:53This is our first roll, so this is going to run the entire length of the closet.
00:39:57And we only have one shot at this, so we've got to do this just so.
00:40:02Really?
00:40:03The roll comes back around to the front.
00:40:05Okay, you get this.
00:40:06Yeah.
00:40:06You get this.
00:40:07Here it comes.
00:40:07It's coming forward.
00:40:08Are we good?
00:40:10How do I undo up here?
00:40:11Oh, boy.
00:40:12This is not.
00:40:13This is not going to go well.
00:40:15So I'm going to peel this forward.
00:40:17Is that right?
00:40:17Okay, I'm going.
00:40:18Chels, hold on to it.
00:40:20I'm holding.
00:40:23All right, hold on.
00:40:24This is stuck.
00:40:25Don't panic.
00:40:26You're panicking.
00:40:28One reason why I'm so excited to be here is this does feel like a masterclass to me.
00:40:32I mean, I've already learned how to wallpaper.
00:40:34Being here, you kind of have to do all the DIY things.
00:40:37So it's all hands on deck.
00:40:39Yeah.
00:40:39For sure.
00:40:40Looks good.
00:40:41Hey.
00:40:41One, two, three, come on.
00:40:44If you want to cancel, baby don't wait, catch this trade.
00:40:47So go down, go until we get, go until we get, go until we get.
00:40:54Ty told us to get dressed up because he's taking us to a big show on the strip tonight.
00:40:59I'm thinking party.
00:41:01I don't know what to expect.
00:41:02I just met Ty.
00:41:03I'm a little nervous.
00:41:07All right, teams, come on in.
00:41:08Welcome.
00:41:09Welcome.
00:41:10This isn't dinner.
00:41:11Well, this is entertainment on the strip.
00:41:14Trust me.
00:41:15And there's no better way to show that than right here at Absinthe, the most amazing live
00:41:19show in Vegas.
00:41:21Yeah.
00:41:23Designers, this is your first design surprise.
00:41:26And I'm here with a man who encompasses all things Vegas, the gazillionaire.
00:41:31All right.
00:41:32Happy to be here.
00:41:33Welcome.
00:41:34And I believe you have a gift for our teams.
00:41:36Let's do this.
00:41:36Let me get my assistant.
00:41:37Wanda, come on out here.
00:41:38All right, here we go.
00:41:39Oh, yes.
00:41:40Oh, now that looks exciting.
00:41:42Hi.
00:41:43Hi.
00:41:44Nice, right?
00:41:44So here's the deal.
00:41:45You're going to pick a card and the card you pick will determine which act you'll see
00:41:48here on my stage and then that act will correspond with the gift.
00:41:52You will be judged on how you use these gifts in your designs.
00:41:57Oh, wow, curveball. Here we go.
00:41:59We drew duo Loire.
00:42:02I just have no idea where we're going with this.
00:42:04Do you speak any French?
00:42:05I just know bate-couche something like that.
00:42:07What's that mean?
00:42:08This means go to bed.
00:42:10That's all you learn from your ex-girlfriend.
00:42:12I appreciate something like that, yeah.
00:42:14Take a card and your card.
00:42:16A pole.
00:42:17How fun would that be?
00:42:19We're in Vegas.
00:42:20We are in Vegas.
00:42:22Bring us a winner.
00:42:23Oh, we must be getting a wheel from the unicycle.
00:42:27Yeah.
00:42:27Exactly.
00:42:28Wow.
00:42:29Wow, which one?
00:42:30What is it?
00:42:31Wow, okay.
00:42:32Sword swallowing.
00:42:34Are we going to have to incorporate swords into our design?
00:42:38Are you ready to go?
00:42:41All right, first up, we've got Sway Pole Girls and the Green Fairy.
00:42:46Yay!
00:42:47All right.
00:42:49Okay, got it.
00:42:50You don't want to miss a detail.
00:42:55Oh, my God.
00:43:02I can dance it up my brain.
00:43:05That is incredible.
00:43:06I can dance it up my brain.
00:43:09What you been doing?
00:43:10Oh, my God.
00:43:15Oh, my God.
00:43:16Oh, my God.
00:43:16Oh, my God.
00:43:17Oh, my God.
00:43:33Now, Wanda's going to give you the gift.
00:43:35This is your element.
00:43:36The homewarming gift from me to you.
00:43:37All right, can I look?
00:43:38Red Moroccan tile.
00:43:40Be inspired by the red tent, our red stage, and the red rocks that surround our city.
00:43:46That's red, red.
00:43:47It is.
00:43:48We have just mapped out what we want to do in the primary space.
00:43:51And in none of it does it incorporate anything to do with Moroccan red tiles.
00:43:57Thanks, gazillionaire, for nothing.
00:43:59All right, next up, we have Duo Loire.
00:44:10Oh, my God.
00:44:13Woo!
00:44:14I'm great.
00:44:17Uh-oh.
00:44:18No, no, no.
00:44:19Oh, my God.
00:44:20No, no, no.
00:44:21That is awful.
00:44:23Woo!
00:44:25Woo!
00:44:26Oh, my God.
00:44:27Woo!
00:44:28Woo!
00:44:29Woo!
00:44:29Woo!
00:44:29Woo!
00:44:29Woo!
00:44:30Woo!
00:44:30Woo!
00:44:34Wanda, why don't you take the gift on down to our worthy contestant.
00:44:37Okay, okay.
00:44:39Oh, indigo velvet fabric.
00:44:41This deep blue velvet fabric represents Vegas after dark.
00:44:46Rich and luxurious.
00:44:48Blue is not in my color palette.
00:44:50Where are we going to put this?
00:44:51Where we get creativity points, but don't bring too much attention to it.
00:44:56All right, and now it's time for Duo Unicycle.
00:44:59Yeah!
00:45:01Come on down.
00:45:09Oh, my God.
00:45:12Wow.
00:45:14Oh, my God.
00:45:16Oh, my God.
00:45:19Oh, my God.
00:45:20Oh, my God.
00:45:23Wow.
00:45:24Incredible.
00:45:25Thank you, guys.
00:45:26All right.
00:45:26Well, designers, we got another gift.
00:45:30Okay.
00:45:32From Marquee Lights.
00:45:33Okay.
00:45:34We invite you to remember the lights of Vegas and bring it to your main suite.
00:45:39Oh.
00:45:40Cool.
00:45:40Okay.
00:45:41We can use the lights anywhere.
00:45:43In the bedroom, in the bathroom, in the closet.
00:45:45And now, sword swallower.
00:45:48Yeah!
00:45:50Oh, my God.
00:45:52We all have our eyes closed.
00:45:54We all have our eyes closed.
00:45:54I literally do like it.
00:45:55Oh, no.
00:45:56No, no.
00:45:57No, no, no.
00:45:57No, wait.
00:45:58No, wait.
00:45:58No, wait.
00:45:59No, wait.
00:45:59No, wait.
00:45:59No, wait.
00:46:05No, wait.
00:46:05No, wait.
00:46:06No, wait.
00:46:07Everybody's kind of wondering, like, are you thinking what I'm thinking?
00:46:11I wonder what her dentist says.
00:46:30Wanda, you want to go ahead and show them what they've got to work with?
00:46:33Oh my gosh, okay.
00:46:37Gold leaf wallpaper.
00:46:38Gold leaf in design is a showstopper.
00:46:41Just like the glamour and decadence that Vegas has to offer.
00:46:44You know what? This isn't bad.
00:46:46I think we can swallow this one.
00:46:48Wow.
00:46:49Designers, take your items and turn that chaos into pure design magic.
00:46:55Alright, I need it. Thanks for the show.
00:47:15We definitely need some time to think about what we're going to do with the blue fabric that we were
00:47:19gifted at the design surprise.
00:47:21So in the meantime, Vernon and I are doing the base coat for the micro cement that is going to
00:47:27go on the three walls and the ceiling of our steam shower bathtub area.
00:47:34What's the difference between this and regular cement?
00:47:36Pretty much the same as regular concrete, but much, much finer. Super unique.
00:47:40I feel like the main thing the micro cement is going to do is give us a softness.
00:47:47There's no grout lines, no veining, and then you're going to have these few pretty things.
00:47:51The tub color is a nice brown, and then the brass tends to have kind of a soft look to
00:47:57it.
00:47:57I think they're all just going to like vibe really well together.
00:48:00I think everyone's going to pick a really beautiful tile.
00:48:02I think their tile is going to be amazing, but I think this is going to set us apart a
00:48:05little bit.
00:48:06Okay.
00:48:06And it does kind of like raise that design bar and makes it a little bit more elegant, like spa
00:48:11vibes.
00:48:18Okay, and then watch the drain pipe, Scott.
00:48:20Oh, yeah.
00:48:21Chelsea and I have this love of old things together, and we'll spend a week at a time out at
00:48:26flea markets,
00:48:27antique shows, and this 1920s fireplace facade that we found at a local antique shop is going to add tons
00:48:33of value to the space
00:48:34because it's like a highly customized feature, and it brings personality and creativity to the space.
00:48:42Love this.
00:48:43I freaking love it.
00:48:44We're going to have to get a gas line to it, right?
00:48:47We can run one. It will just cost.
00:48:49Okay.
00:48:49Probably looking in the range of $2,000 or something.
00:48:53Bummer.
00:48:54I don't know that we're going to be able to squeeze $2,000 out of this budget to run a
00:48:59gas line for this.
00:49:03This has already been a very high spend week for us.
00:49:07Maybe we just do a beautiful setup with levels and lots of candles.
00:49:13Sounds like that's our only option.
00:49:14Yes, the gas line and real flames would have been cool, but I think the important piece is the cast
00:49:21iron facade. It's the real beauty.
00:49:23It is bringing in such a cool, unique piece that no one else is going to have, and to me,
00:49:28that's adding value.
00:49:29We play the wind.
00:49:31Making sure I don't say this all again.
00:49:33Outside, you can never box me in.
00:49:35We play the wind.
00:49:37Never follow, I can't hit or set the trim.
00:49:40We need to figure out the exterior of this place to get it done in time.
00:49:44Everything needs to be consistent with our modern hacienda.
00:49:48True.
00:49:49And it's such a wide home.
00:49:51We can't just have it all stucco.
00:49:53No, no, no, yeah.
00:49:53It's going to look like a shopping mall.
00:49:55I think some stone maybe on the bump house would be pretty.
00:49:58We're in Vegas, so something light.
00:50:00Absolutely.
00:50:01Stack stone to the top.
00:50:03And then on this side, we've got this nice bump in here.
00:50:06This is where we could do stucco.
00:50:08Yes.
00:50:08Maybe we stone the RV garage.
00:50:11Oh, I really like that.
00:50:12That would be so hot.
00:50:14How hot would it be?
00:50:15Scale of one to ten.
00:50:17One to Scott?
00:50:18It's a Scott.
00:50:19You like that one?
00:50:21You never stop surprising me, which I appreciate.
00:50:30Yay.
00:50:31What are you thinking, Drew, when you're thinking about colors for a house?
00:50:34I like the darker colors.
00:50:36I like the...
00:50:37I do too.
00:50:37I would love to incorporate like these elements of wood, black, white.
00:50:42We could do wood on the ceiling over the porch.
00:50:46Wood from that bump out to the corner to the house.
00:50:49A light, creamy, maybe gray in this section.
00:50:53I guarantee nobody's gonna do what we're doing.
00:50:55No way.
00:50:55No chance.
00:50:57Turkey call it?
00:50:58Yeah, definitely turkey call it.
00:51:04Neighbors!
00:51:06Sweet tea time!
00:51:07If times get tough, you need to know how to call a turkey in.
00:51:10So I learned how to do a turkey call.
00:51:12Sweet tea to me is how us Southerners like to extend the olive branch.
00:51:17And it's the best way to try to get some gossip.
00:51:20Oh man, that's some good sweet tea.
00:51:21Give me some leaven just to disperse the poison that might be in here.
00:51:26Okay, truly, who do y'all think is going to win the primary sweet?
00:51:30Does everybody feel super confident?
00:51:31I feel like it's anyone's game.
00:51:34I'd like to say that we're gonna win because I'm super competitive.
00:51:37I am as well.
00:51:39But these two right here, we gotta watch these two right here.
00:51:41What? Us?
00:51:43Stop clutching your pearls.
00:51:44Oh, bless my soul! What, me?
00:51:47I came in feeling pretty strong, but I'm a little nervous right now.
00:51:51I get little sneak peeks of everybody working around.
00:51:53I'm just being honest because if I lose to any of you, I will be so embarrassed.
00:51:58It's got word around town to people that talk the most.
00:52:01Yeah?
00:52:01They don't have anything to bring to the table.
00:52:03Okay, wow.
00:52:04That's been interesting.
00:52:05That's what I heard.
00:52:06The louder the talk, the harder the fall.
00:52:09I think that we're the mystery card here.
00:52:12I think there's a lot of preconceived notions about our true skill sets.
00:52:16Even though we haven't been on the block, we've definitely been around the block when it comes to design.
00:52:22And I think they're underestimating us a little bit.
00:52:24Well, good.
00:52:25I like to surprise our neighbors.
00:52:27You know what?
00:52:28This is nice and everything.
00:52:29Hey.
00:52:30Oh!
00:52:31Well, we gotta get back to work.
00:52:33That is a sin!
00:52:34That's so dramatic!
00:52:35What are you doing?
00:52:35Yeah, we're being distracted here.
00:52:37There's too many things to do!
00:52:45Drew, you tackle it like a boss.
00:52:47How do you know how to do all this?
00:52:48Trial and error.
00:52:50You know?
00:52:50Doing bathrooms for myself and family members.
00:52:53And nobody expects the boy band ballroom Broadway guy to be the tile guy, too.
00:52:58We went with this pattern because it really ties in with what we're doing over here on our backsplash with
00:53:04the vanity.
00:53:04It's gonna be divided nicely.
00:53:06Everything is keeping true to our design aesthetic, which is livable luxe.
00:53:11Aren't you just a little proud of me for keeping it at a pretty decent budget?
00:53:16I do feel good.
00:53:17I'm gonna build your trust one challenge at a time, okay?
00:53:21She's got all these tricks up her sleeve on how we can maximize, you know, with wall coverings and fixtures
00:53:27and things like that.
00:53:28So while we're still trying to figure out exactly our team dynamic, I feel like we're...
00:53:33Our tango?
00:53:34We're working well.
00:53:40What is this?
00:53:41Countertop.
00:53:42We didn't order bullnose.
00:53:43No, we didn't order bullnose.
00:53:44Why is there a bullnose on it?
00:53:45This is completely ruining the look that we were going for.
00:53:51I didn't order this and we have a giant bullnose countertop now.
00:53:56It's ugly.
00:53:57Our order for the countertop was a 4-inch profile, 90-degree turn, polished miter, which says sophisticated and luxurious.
00:54:06What we got is a bullnose, which says basic and inexpensive.
00:54:10It's a very different countertop.
00:54:12I can call the fabricator, I can send the notes that we sent, and I'll just say, you did it
00:54:16wrong, now I need a rush job.
00:54:18And if they can turn it around in 24 hours, we can switch it.
00:54:21But it is a risk.
00:54:22The challenge with blind judging is that there's no room for explanation.
00:54:27The work has to speak for itself.
00:54:28And this is not the work that we wanted, and it's definitely not saying what we want it to say.
00:54:33I can't even look at it.
00:54:34It's going to upset me so much.
00:54:35I'm going.
00:54:36Okay.
00:54:36I can't.
00:54:37You don't worry about it.
00:54:38Leave it with me.
00:54:46So the main bedroom, we're going to do this featured curved headboard wall where we've got beautiful kind of metallic
00:54:54patterned wallpaper.
00:54:56And then we'll have a dark wood paneling on the bottom.
00:54:58I mean, I love the way that this curved detail turned out where this just makes this feel architecturally interesting
00:55:05and built in and not just like an accent wall.
00:55:07The way the light hits that metallic part.
00:55:10It's stunning.
00:55:11It's not too feminine, which I was a little concerned with.
00:55:14I think it's perfect.
00:55:15Yeah.
00:55:16Wow.
00:55:16The color of this wood against this wallpaper.
00:55:19This is very smoky sexy.
00:55:21Even though Kim has way more experience in the design world than I do, I do feel like she relies
00:55:27on my opinion, which is such a confidence booster.
00:55:31I don't think I'm slowing her down at all.
00:55:33And I feel like I'm already starting to grow.
00:55:35I mean, not only as a person, but an interior designer.
00:55:39So I'm very happy with how this is turning out.
00:55:42This is like our.
00:55:44Yeah.
00:55:57You know, at least make some broad decisions about what we want to do out front.
00:56:01What are your like general feelings?
00:56:03Well, not too many colors.
00:56:04I like to stay grounded, maybe two-tone.
00:56:07You like light or dark?
00:56:08Light.
00:56:09Okay.
00:56:09I don't necessarily like flat white, but I think like a light color would be nice.
00:56:13Right.
00:56:13And then in our inset, add an accent, like a medium wood in a different pattern to kind of warm
00:56:18it up.
00:56:19What if we brought the wood over to the garage?
00:56:21So I think that would work well.
00:56:23Okay.
00:56:24Easy peasy.
00:56:24Let's go.
00:56:27What are you thinking for the main body of the exterior?
00:56:30I feel like a lot plays into where we are.
00:56:33I'm sure there's certain things you can't use in this heat.
00:56:36We're looking at probably stone.
00:56:38Too expensive.
00:56:38Then we would just do like a really beautiful, creamy, kind of sandy colored stucco.
00:56:43Love.
00:56:44Maybe we just bring in some wood siding details on the soffits, on the facial, on the columns, on the
00:56:48beams.
00:56:49Warm it up a little.
00:56:50I love it.
00:56:56I am super duper happy with how these closets are turning out.
00:57:01Yeah, me too.
00:57:01So, I know we talked about possibly curved cabinets.
00:57:05Not in the budget.
00:57:07Would take way too long to customize.
00:57:09So, doing a curved bench here?
00:57:12Totally reasonable.
00:57:12We can make the bench.
00:57:13And then we could probably find someone local to bend us a bar.
00:57:17So, think like, like ballet rack.
00:57:20Like, if you were going to plan your outfits for the week.
00:57:22Do you do that?
00:57:23Oh, yeah.
00:57:23You plan it?
00:57:24Yeah, I like planning it.
00:57:25You plan your outfits?
00:57:26So, we'd have a bench here.
00:57:28So, think you could have, like, on the bench, your shoes set out for every day of the week.
00:57:31And then we have this beautiful bar with, like, your outfits hung out.
00:57:36I thought I knew all about design and renovation.
00:57:39But working with Amina can show me something totally different.
00:57:41Today was a combination of algebra, pre-calculus, and fine arts.
00:57:46Protractors, you name it.
00:57:47The whole nine.
00:57:48How are you feeling about our blue fabric?
00:57:50Blue's not particularly my favorite color.
00:57:53It's not mine either, but it's very rich.
00:57:57It's going to give us a pop of color in here, which I think we need next to our neutral
00:58:01built-ins.
00:58:02I feel like putting it on the bench, brownie points with the judges.
00:58:06I like it.
00:58:07Okay.
00:58:08Vernon's been the perfect partner.
00:58:09He's been learning a lot, getting his hands dirty.
00:58:12I think having fun doing it and he's super supportive.
00:58:15I overthink everything.
00:58:17And if I don't have someone who's like, no, we got this, I will spiral.
00:58:21So, it's a really nice balance.
00:58:23But it's looking pretty good.
00:58:24Oh, yeah.
00:58:25For the bedroom, we're color drenching from floor to ceiling.
00:58:29This space to me is probably the riskiest space I've ever done.
00:58:33I've never color drenched before.
00:58:35Look at that.
00:58:38Drew, this headboard is one of a kind.
00:58:40Nobody else is going to have it.
00:58:42But we are making it all a part of the whole design here with the blue.
00:58:47Yes.
00:58:47I can't believe we did the blue.
00:58:49I'm in love with it.
00:58:50I think it looks fantastic.
00:58:51Talk about layers of luxury right here.
00:58:53The pendants, the wallpaper, the tambour wood, and now the headboard.
00:59:00It's just adding so much richness, which is what someone buying a house at this price point would expect.
00:59:06Whatever happens with the judges, I'm proud of this room.
00:59:09Should be tight.
00:59:11Like a glove, though.
00:59:12Pretty dang good.
00:59:13Honestly, we couldn't have gotten something better.
00:59:16Because it's a slight nod to, like, old Vegas.
00:59:18As soon as we won the gold leaf wallpaper, I knew exactly where I wanted to use it.
00:59:23And I'm thinking barrel ceiling.
00:59:24Like a little bit of Caesar's Palace, a little bit of Las Vegas.
00:59:27You can do gold ceilings in Vegas.
00:59:29It's got a bit of a modern hacienda vibe to it.
00:59:32Agreed.
00:59:32And I think if the judges really do take into consideration how well we integrated it, this is going to
00:59:38be the best.
00:59:38I was nervous about how Brooke and I would work together.
00:59:41But we've been able to find our commonalities and get on the same page.
00:59:46We play off of each other's energy.
00:59:48We play off of each other's ideas.
00:59:50I go too far.
00:59:51You reel me in.
00:59:52Yeah, I'm like, yeah, I love that idea.
00:59:53Now we can do half of it.
00:59:54We're like one plus one equals three over here.
00:59:57Yes!
00:59:58Work it!
00:59:59Lisa Vanderpump.
01:00:01Nick Elaine.
01:00:02Oh, wow.
01:00:04Bold.
01:00:05This is Vegas, baby.
01:00:06I think they've messed up on this closet.
01:00:19Boom!
01:00:20Let's go!
01:00:22Fun, isn't it?
01:00:23Yeah, this is fun.
01:00:24Feels like game day.
01:00:25It's one of my favorite little cheats because actual judges paneling is so expensive.
01:00:32So it's just composite, super affordable, and it gives us texture and depth.
01:00:38Yeah, it's really interesting that we can just do this, make the small changes to elevate the room and now
01:00:44look at it.
01:00:44Because we're not dramatically changing the footprint of our bedroom, we have to bring in some other components to impress
01:00:50the judges.
01:00:51So our fireplace, huge win.
01:00:53Other than that, we've got a rectangle, so it's judges paneling, paint colors, and lighting.
01:00:58Those are the things that are the value add.
01:00:59It takes it from like, eh, to elegant.
01:01:01Like, I love this room now.
01:01:03First, when I walked in, I was like, oh, it's just plain, there's nothing going on.
01:01:06There's kind of a box, yeah.
01:01:06But now?
01:01:07Oh, come on.
01:01:12Wow, this is a dream closet.
01:01:14I mean, it is.
01:01:15Floor to ceiling, wall to wall, pure closet love.
01:01:19Yes.
01:01:19But now we have to address the red Moroccan tile.
01:01:23Mm-hmm.
01:01:23I'm thinking, you know, we'll do this as kind of like the backdrop for what would be our vanity.
01:01:29So we'd be able to put these in here, tile up this section.
01:01:34Then we'd be able to place a mirror in here, but make it like this really, really pretty, like, focal
01:01:39point.
01:01:39So as soon as the judges walk through the door, they see this pop of like this rich color that's
01:01:43kind of popped through.
01:01:44And then, you know, we can put in a little bit of like our brass kind of finishes that we've
01:01:48been talking about, you know.
01:01:48Jesus, I gotta tell you.
01:01:50You know?
01:01:50It just makes me so happy when you speak like that.
01:01:53You have no idea.
01:01:54Okay.
01:01:55All right.
01:01:56I think that there's this really fine balance of making the house unique enough, but also appealing to a lot
01:02:03of buyers.
01:02:04That's what's actually going to add value to the house.
01:02:06What do you think?
01:02:07Oh, I'm like really digging it.
01:02:09I think this closet is a big surprise.
01:02:11I don't know why.
01:02:11You turn that corner and you're like, wow.
01:02:16What are we doing?
01:02:17Why?
01:02:18I don't know if this is going to be good or if this is going to be bad.
01:02:22Oh my gosh.
01:02:23But it took everything in my power and a lot of phone calls.
01:02:28That bullnose countertop.
01:02:33Oh my gosh.
01:02:36Oh my gosh.
01:02:37Yay.
01:02:37He got it.
01:02:38How did you get it done?
01:02:47It's gone.
01:02:47It really makes that big of a difference and it looks so good.
01:02:50This is a W-I-N.
01:02:53Win.
01:02:55It's all coming together.
01:02:57This like makes the closet feel massive.
01:03:00Check this out though.
01:03:02So Vegas.
01:03:03So smoky sexy.
01:03:04And I love that those bulbs give that like old marquee feel.
01:03:09Which works out perfect for our idea.
01:03:12Uh huh.
01:03:13With the lights from Absinthe.
01:03:15Yeah.
01:03:15And when this is literally going to like reflect those across the room.
01:03:19We've decided to take the marquee lights and outline the door from our closet into the big garage.
01:03:27Kind of the hidden door.
01:03:28Yeah.
01:03:29We're going to put the mirror on it.
01:03:30So it's also like a full length mirror with lighting on it.
01:03:33I think the closet's a home run.
01:03:43The glass is custom.
01:03:45Two days late.
01:03:45We've got two hours to get our glass shelves and everything in.
01:03:50End stage.
01:03:50Watch the wall.
01:03:51Oh my God.
01:03:53This is the most stressful thing.
01:03:55If we can get all this glass in, it's going to be a buzzer beater.
01:03:58Like I've never been so close to the wire.
01:04:01We designed a closet to look like a storefront because you're shopping in your own closet.
01:04:06Who wouldn't want a closet like that?
01:04:08Especially at this price point in this neighborhood where buyers expect top of the line luxury.
01:04:13We have this glass display.
01:04:14That is our differentiator.
01:04:16So if this doesn't work out, we just become like everyone else.
01:04:20Our ass is glass.
01:04:21Careful.
01:04:23You guys are almost there, bro.
01:04:26You guys are good now if you want to put the half inch?
01:04:30Yep.
01:04:31That's it.
01:04:33Oh, thank you, God.
01:04:38The truck is here.
01:04:41Go, go, go.
01:04:42Here we go.
01:04:43Go, go, go.
01:04:44Oh my God, I'm running.
01:04:45Woo!
01:04:47What we got?
01:04:49Yeah.
01:04:50Tell me that it's us.
01:04:52That's ours.
01:04:53Yeah, that's ours.
01:04:54Not anymore.
01:04:55This is ours.
01:04:56Oh my God, go, go, go.
01:04:57I get it.
01:04:58I get it.
01:04:59Oh my God.
01:05:02Oh my God.
01:05:02Stay playing.
01:05:03Oh my God.
01:05:04Oh my God.
01:05:04Today is judgment day, and I think our house is in a really good spot.
01:05:09One of Vernon's concerns was that the bedroom felt small, but it looks and feels so much bigger.
01:05:16And the bathroom is just this amazing, glamorous spa retreat.
01:05:20I think we have a chance to really win this.
01:05:2230 minutes before the judges come.
01:05:25I'm feeling really confident about our main suite.
01:05:28The whole theme of making it look like a storefront retail closet, we deliver.
01:05:33We have less than 20 minutes.
01:05:34Hurry.
01:05:34Okay.
01:05:35No time.
01:05:36For us, this is the week we want to win.
01:05:40So nice.
01:05:40Let's go.
01:05:41It's so nice.
01:05:42Go.
01:05:44Go, go, go.
01:05:45I think the greatest risk we're taking is the layout of the bathroom.
01:05:49With the tub being front and center, and the cigar box closet, of course.
01:05:54It's very different.
01:05:55Do the judges like that, or does it totally freak them out?
01:05:58Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on.
01:06:00We have six minutes.
01:06:01I feel like we did everything we could in that primary suite.
01:06:05In fact, more so because we pushed ourselves way out of our comfort zone.
01:06:09We went bold with color choices.
01:06:11So winning would be the greatest push for us to keep going.
01:06:17All right, you get that side, I'll get this side.
01:06:20I'll get the rest of the side.
01:06:25We ain't got much time.
01:06:26Oh my goodness.
01:06:29Let's go.
01:06:31Come on, let's go.
01:06:42Welcome to the block.
01:06:43Hello.
01:06:44Happy to be here.
01:06:45Lisa Vanderpump.
01:06:47Nick Alain.
01:06:48Hello.
01:06:49Thanks for coming.
01:06:50How's it going, man?
01:06:51Good.
01:06:51Good to see you.
01:06:52We are so honored to have you guys here on the block.
01:06:56We are very happy to be here.
01:06:57Absolutely.
01:06:58Excited to see what you've got in store for us.
01:07:00Lisa Vanderpump is an award-winning television icon and world-renowned restaurateur.
01:07:06Her longtime collaborator, Nick Alain, is a globally recognized designer.
01:07:11And together, they're bringing their signature glamour to the upcoming Vanderpump Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip.
01:07:18So it's week one.
01:07:20And you'll be judging the main suite blind, meaning you won't know who designed which house.
01:07:25What's the most important aspect of this?
01:07:28You're looking for overall design, added value, and creativity.
01:07:32You also take into consideration how well they used the design surprise elements they received at the Vegas Extravaganza Absinthe.
01:07:40Well, Nick and I, we know about timelines. Are they feeling the pressure?
01:07:44Oh, they're definitely feeling the pressure here on the block.
01:07:46Are you guys ready?
01:07:47Yes, ready.
01:07:48So you're going to start your tour with this house right here.
01:07:52Let's do it.
01:07:52Let's do it.
01:07:53All right.
01:07:53Good luck.
01:07:54Okay.
01:07:56Okay, let's see this puppy.
01:07:58Oh.
01:07:59Woo-hoo.
01:08:00Bloody bingo.
01:08:03Okay, let's see this.
01:08:05Wow.
01:08:06Oh.
01:08:07Okay, I'm quite impressed.
01:08:14It feels very comforting.
01:08:17Warm.
01:08:18The wallpaper.
01:08:20I don't think that it's that safe a choice for selling a home.
01:08:25It's a very personal look, for sure.
01:08:27Specific, isn't it?
01:08:27Specific and personal.
01:08:28Not everybody's going to love it.
01:08:30I do like the curve on this.
01:08:31Do you?
01:08:32It's fantastic.
01:08:33Yeah.
01:08:33It brings you in.
01:08:34Gives you a hug.
01:08:35Let's see the cart.
01:08:36Smokey.
01:08:37Smokey sexy.
01:08:37I'm feeling smokey sexy.
01:08:39I get it.
01:08:40Yep.
01:08:40What do you think of the desk?
01:08:41Do you like the height?
01:08:42The height's unusual.
01:08:43I like the height of it.
01:08:44I do think it adds quite a bit.
01:08:45Yeah.
01:08:46It accomplishes what you want in a bedroom.
01:08:48This is unusual, huh?
01:08:50It is.
01:08:50I don't like that.
01:08:51It feels a little like you're camping.
01:08:53Uh-huh.
01:08:54Yep.
01:08:56Okay, let's go into the closet.
01:08:59Wow.
01:08:59Okay.
01:09:00This is pretty nice.
01:09:10Bold choice on wallpaper, though.
01:09:12I do like it, though.
01:09:14I'm not sure that I really like the green in here.
01:09:18I normally prefer white in the closet
01:09:20because there's so many colors with clothing and stuff.
01:09:23Right.
01:09:23The closet's almost the same size as the bedroom,
01:09:25which I think that often sells a house.
01:09:28And there's your marquee lights.
01:09:30There they are.
01:09:31All right, that's a good use for them.
01:09:32Wasn't there a door?
01:09:34Oh!
01:09:34Oh, wow.
01:09:36This is great.
01:09:37I do like this.
01:09:38Yeah, they've made some very interesting choices.
01:09:40Should we go and see the bathroom?
01:09:42Yes, please.
01:09:44Okay, bathroom.
01:09:45Oh.
01:09:46Oh!
01:09:53They've changed the layout of the bathroom.
01:09:55Oh, I love that you walk right into the tub.
01:09:57I love a bathtub.
01:09:59I do, too.
01:10:00That's so much you want to get in it.
01:10:01One of my favorite pieces, for sure.
01:10:03Now that with the fireplace, right?
01:10:05I like it, actually.
01:10:06That's cool.
01:10:06I so want to turn the water off.
01:10:08If you do, I swear it'd be the last thing you do.
01:10:11That's great, though.
01:10:12I do like this architectural element as well.
01:10:15Mm-hmm.
01:10:15They brought an antique in.
01:10:16That's beautiful.
01:10:17Yeah, that is nice.
01:10:18No, I don't trust you.
01:10:21My ass is wet, though.
01:10:23Good-sized shower.
01:10:24But you know what I like about this?
01:10:26I like the separation.
01:10:27Right, right.
01:10:27He can have his messy side over there and mine would be perfect here.
01:10:30Yeah, his and hers.
01:10:31This is fantastic.
01:10:32Yeah, that's good.
01:10:33The mirrors over the windows.
01:10:34Over the windows.
01:10:35It's always good light.
01:10:36Are you ready to move on to the next house?
01:10:38Let's do it.
01:10:44Okay.
01:10:45Well, this is already different.
01:10:46Oh, purple.
01:10:48Oh.
01:10:49This feels very different.
01:10:51Serene.
01:10:52Uh-huh.
01:11:02I love her blue.
01:11:04When you first walked in.
01:11:06Yeah.
01:11:06You didn't walk into something.
01:11:07It's not a hard age.
01:11:08It just kind of brought you in.
01:11:09This definitely feels ethereal.
01:11:12Ah.
01:11:13There you go.
01:11:13Comfortable.
01:11:14Comfortable elegance.
01:11:16Picture frame molding, which I like.
01:11:18I like the detail on the wall.
01:11:21It brings depth and movement to the bedroom, and everybody likes a bit of movement in the
01:11:25bedroom.
01:11:25Right.
01:11:26What they did to accentuate the walls and bring those lines up with the molding and everything
01:11:31just makes it feel like the ceilings are two feet higher.
01:11:34Come on.
01:11:35Just try it.
01:11:36Wow.
01:11:37Okay.
01:11:37Oh, look.
01:11:38I like this.
01:11:39Double-sided water vapor fireplace.
01:11:42There you go.
01:11:42What a great feeling in here.
01:11:43Nice choice.
01:11:44Absolutely.
01:11:44I'm excited to see what's on the other side.
01:11:46So let's see.
01:11:49This is a bathroom.
01:11:50This is a bathroom.
01:11:56There you go.
01:11:57You can get a bigger shower and bath tub than that.
01:12:00I like the micro-cement finish in this shower.
01:12:03I do.
01:12:03If you tiled it, it would get too much, right?
01:12:06So that's a great choice, I think.
01:12:07I like the double-sided fireplace.
01:12:10Yeah.
01:12:10It gives us continuity.
01:12:12What do you think of that transparent tub?
01:12:14That's quite a statement as well.
01:12:15Beautiful.
01:12:15I do think that you need a lot more counter space, right?
01:12:20My.
01:12:21Where is the closet?
01:12:22This has to be another secret door.
01:12:25What is it with these people over here in Vegas?
01:12:27What is that?
01:12:28Oh, that is the closet door.
01:12:30Oh.
01:12:32Oh, well, I know where this is going.
01:12:39I think they've messed up on this closet.
01:12:42There's some mistakes here.
01:12:46There's some mistakes here.
01:12:49The closet's small.
01:12:51I don't know that this closet is big enough for...
01:12:54Oh, my God.
01:12:55This is the blue velvet bench in the closet.
01:13:00Oh, right.
01:13:00I do like it very much.
01:13:01Yep, yep.
01:13:02But there was a big waste of space there.
01:13:05For me, I feel that they missed an opportunity.
01:13:08If this was all cupboards here,
01:13:10it'd feel a lot more generous.
01:13:12There's not that much.
01:13:14I see the challenge, though,
01:13:15with that curved wall walking in.
01:13:17You're given this amazing entrance,
01:13:19but it kills your closet.
01:13:20So which one do you go for?
01:13:22Yeah.
01:13:23Let's go and see the next house.
01:13:24Let's go.
01:13:33Color.
01:13:34Oh, wow.
01:13:36Oh.
01:13:37Okay.
01:13:47Nice.
01:13:48Oh, I'm liking the feel.
01:13:50I love that they brought wall color into the ceiling.
01:13:53Livable Luxe.
01:13:55Yes.
01:13:55I see it.
01:13:56And I love dark rooms.
01:13:59Blue is not my color.
01:14:01If you're a blue person, you love it.
01:14:02If not, you're in trouble.
01:14:03But this, I think, is really beautiful.
01:14:05And I think the fabric and the headboard, I love that.
01:14:08I like the two-tone.
01:14:09I think here, if they'd had some kind of beautiful cabinet,
01:14:14I think you'd feel a lot better about it.
01:14:16Right.
01:14:16A little bigger and a nightstand to match.
01:14:18That would be fantastic.
01:14:20Can we have a look at the bathroom?
01:14:24Wow.
01:14:25Okay.
01:14:26This is very interesting for sure.
01:14:42I love there's no glass in here to deal with.
01:14:46I think this works very well, actually.
01:14:48Yeah.
01:14:48So they've got French doors here.
01:14:50I like that.
01:14:52And I do love the fact that now you'll be able to open up,
01:14:55go out into a little courtyard out here.
01:14:57Okay.
01:14:57So we've got a lot of storage here.
01:14:59Yep.
01:15:00Absolutely.
01:15:01I like that.
01:15:01It's something I wouldn't have thought of doing.
01:15:03And I like it though.
01:15:04What do you think of this backsplash?
01:15:05It's nice.
01:15:06Yeah.
01:15:07The whole thing seems to flow very well.
01:15:09I like the fact that they are taking chances.
01:15:11Let's have a look at the closet.
01:15:13All right.
01:15:14Let's see.
01:15:14Let's see what's happening here.
01:15:16Don't tell me they've got a small closet.
01:15:18Oh.
01:15:28Oh.
01:15:29Oh.
01:15:30Oh.
01:15:30I like it.
01:15:32Okay.
01:15:32There we go.
01:15:33Now it makes sense.
01:15:34Now it makes sense.
01:15:34Now it makes sense.
01:15:35For sure.
01:15:36I'm liking this though.
01:15:37There's a lot more space in here.
01:15:39They have room for like a quarter of your shoes.
01:15:42Maybe an eighth.
01:15:43Don't drag me into this.
01:15:45Look at this.
01:15:45This is the red tile from Abset.
01:15:47Oh, the red tile.
01:15:47That was pretty clever.
01:15:48We have a space for long dresses, coats, long hanging, which we didn't have in the last
01:15:54space.
01:15:55And you need it.
01:15:55I like this.
01:15:56I feel good about it.
01:15:57We've still got another one to go.
01:15:58On to the last house.
01:16:00Let's do it.
01:16:00All right.
01:16:07Are you ready?
01:16:09I'm ready.
01:16:12Holy cow.
01:16:13What's going on here?
01:16:23Oh, this is made for me.
01:16:27This is Vegas, baby.
01:16:30This feels great.
01:16:32This feels modern.
01:16:33It feels airy.
01:16:34It feels bright.
01:16:35Right.
01:16:36The glass wall changes everything.
01:16:39You don't feel so confined.
01:16:41I really like this idea.
01:16:42This is fantastic.
01:16:44Yeah.
01:16:45Look at this.
01:16:47Biggest island out of all of them.
01:16:49What do you think about this arch ceiling and how they've utilized the gold?
01:16:53I think it's fantastic.
01:16:54Nice detail there.
01:16:55Absolutely.
01:16:56Oh, the bedroom.
01:16:58Okay.
01:17:07I like it.
01:17:08Let's look at the card.
01:17:09So, this is modern hacienda.
01:17:11Modern hacienda.
01:17:12Okay.
01:17:14I like the tray ceiling.
01:17:15Do you?
01:17:16I do.
01:17:17I love that.
01:17:17Interesting.
01:17:18And at night, it's probably a great glow.
01:17:20Yeah.
01:17:21I like the fireplace.
01:17:22The only thing I'm not crazy about is the finish on the cupboards.
01:17:28It feels a little rough.
01:17:30Yeah.
01:17:30It does feel a little rough.
01:17:32Shall we look in the bathroom?
01:17:33Yeah.
01:17:33Yeah, absolutely.
01:17:36Oh, yes.
01:17:37Oh, look at this.
01:17:49Oh, look at the white glass.
01:17:51This is a great option to have a little sauna.
01:17:56This is everything.
01:17:58Oh, I would kill for one of these.
01:18:00Added value is quite a bit, I bet.
01:18:03Great use of glass.
01:18:04Okay.
01:18:05We haven't even talked about this.
01:18:06Look.
01:18:07I like this.
01:18:08This feels kind of separate.
01:18:09I don't think I've ever seen this.
01:18:10I love it.
01:18:11This little bit of green olive.
01:18:13It's gorgeous.
01:18:14It's missing that storage in the center, though, that that other space had, which really cleaned
01:18:18it up.
01:18:19Why would they not maximize that when they've got the depth?
01:18:22And they could have easily done that.
01:18:27Okay, let's discuss.
01:18:29Okay.
01:18:29Best closet.
01:18:30Okay, best closet for me is this.
01:18:34Bedroom, you like comfortable elegance.
01:18:36I do.
01:18:38I like the light.
01:18:39And I feel that that is so important when you're trying to sell something.
01:18:45Which bathroom did you like best?
01:18:46Obviously, I love the bathroom with the massive shower in it.
01:18:50You mean the Liverpool Luxe?
01:18:52Right.
01:18:53Okay, but if you had to pick one, which one do you think this is the one that seduces me?
01:18:59The whole thing.
01:19:03It's the moment you've all been waiting for.
01:19:06It's about time.
01:19:08Are you ready to meet this week's main suite judges?
01:19:12Bring them all.
01:19:13Yes, come on.
01:19:14Yes.
01:19:14Our two judges this week bring extensive experience.
01:19:19Two judges.
01:19:20And they're accomplished designers of everything from celebrity residences to high-end restaurants,
01:19:26luxury hotels, and even a yacht.
01:19:29Ooh.
01:19:31Swanky.
01:19:31Who is it?
01:19:32And one of them also happens to be a pop culture icon.
01:19:37Ooh.
01:19:37What?
01:19:38Please welcome Lisa Vanderpump and Nick Elaine.
01:19:44Oh, wow.
01:19:45Yeah.
01:19:47Lisa.
01:19:48Lisa.
01:19:48We are very excited to see them both.
01:19:51And crap.
01:19:52She fancy.
01:19:53He's fancy.
01:19:54I'm a little worried that we might not have taken big enough swings for their personal style.
01:19:59So I believe you started with our smoky, sexy house.
01:20:02Yeah.
01:20:02Smoky, sexy.
01:20:03Which belongs to of Kim and Chelsea.
01:20:05You certainly achieved smoky, sexy.
01:20:08Yes.
01:20:08One of the things I really loved about your space was your wrapped wall.
01:20:12It really gave me a big hug when I came in, which you want for a bedroom.
01:20:16Some of the choices were really bold.
01:20:19I mean, it could go either way.
01:20:21But I did feel that the bold choice on the wallpaper, not everybody's going to love it.
01:20:27The closet was definitely big enough for Lisa Vanderpump.
01:20:30That's saying something.
01:20:31Yeah.
01:20:31Good job on the closet.
01:20:32I liked the use of the marquee lights and the hidden door.
01:20:36And I loved the antique details in the bathroom.
01:20:39The next house you guys toured was comfortable elegance.
01:20:42Yes.
01:20:44That's Mina and Vernon.
01:20:45We definitely liked the bedroom very much.
01:20:48And that curved wall walking in, very inviting.
01:20:51That felt really beautiful.
01:20:52I also liked the fireplace.
01:20:54I thought that was really innovative.
01:20:56I felt like your place had the highest ceilings, even though they're all the same.
01:21:00For some reason, your place just felt like it had the highest ceilings.
01:21:03The design took it up.
01:21:04Mina says Vernon's eyes.
01:21:06That was impressive.
01:21:07I didn't think that you made the best use of the closet space.
01:21:12With the blue velvet bench on the curb, it took up a lot of the closet.
01:21:17The beautiful detail of walking in on that curved wall.
01:21:20It worked when you walk in.
01:21:22It worked against you when you were in the closet, I think.
01:21:24Yeah.
01:21:25So I believe the next house you guys toured was Livable Luxury, which belongs to Tanya and Drew.
01:21:30I was overwhelmed by the blue.
01:21:32I felt it was a little strong for my choice.
01:21:36Not everybody's going to love it.
01:21:38Nick particularly likes dark rooms, so it kind of was a little push and pull between us on that factor.
01:21:43I did, I loved it.
01:21:45The dark room was fantastic.
01:21:46It felt like a room you wanted to hang out in.
01:21:49I love how you went into the ceiling with the same color.
01:21:52Also, I like the fact that you used the Moroccan tile.
01:21:55I thought that was really well done.
01:21:57That looked really good.
01:21:57Great use.
01:21:58But I mean, the bathroom.
01:22:00Yeah.
01:22:01The bathroom was great.
01:22:02We loved the doors leading out to the bathroom.
01:22:06That made it feel really special.
01:22:08And the open shower, it was really beautifully done.
01:22:12Great job.
01:22:13Thanks.
01:22:14Okay.
01:22:14And then finally, that leaves Scott and Brooks.
01:22:16Modern Hacienda.
01:22:18Yes.
01:22:18As I walked in, I got that wow factor.
01:22:22Yes.
01:22:23I still get goosebumps thinking about it now.
01:22:26It was such an impact.
01:22:28The closet, the glass wall, the natural light coming through.
01:22:33To me, that was very impressive.
01:22:34Yep.
01:22:35Never seen it before.
01:22:36Great idea.
01:22:37It was good use of the gold leaf.
01:22:39It was.
01:22:39It was a nice transition between the closet and the bathroom.
01:22:42And I really liked the adventurous design you had with the sauna and with the shower.
01:22:48I thought that was all very clever.
01:22:50I think the bedroom was sophisticated, but not quite sure about the rustic cabinets.
01:22:57It felt a little too rustic for me.
01:23:00Lisa, Nick, thank you guys so much.
01:23:02This is a huge honor to have you guys here.
01:23:06Now it's coming down to that moment.
01:23:09At stake each week is $3,000, thanks to the Wells Fargo Active Cash Credit Card.
01:23:16This season, the winners each week have a choice.
01:23:19Use the $3,000 toward your designs next week or add $1,000 to your final appraisal at the end.
01:23:26The bets are in, the cards are down.
01:23:30Let's see who takes the pot.
01:23:32The winner of the Rock the Block Main Sweep Challenge is...
01:23:43Scott and Bruce!
01:23:45Yeah!
01:23:49Oh my gosh, congratulations!
01:23:54Good job, you guys!
01:23:56We might be the unlikely matchup here, but we've found a rhythm.
01:24:00We've got the first win under our belt.
01:24:02Team Scott and Brooke, Modern Hacienda, still undefeated!
01:24:06Yay!
01:24:09You really came through.
01:24:10Don't make me cry.
01:24:11You did.
01:24:12You came through like crazy.
01:24:14Seeing the standard of what you brought to this equation,
01:24:18it really impressed me as a designer.
01:24:21I love what I do and it felt like all the work and all of the things that I've been
01:24:26doing in the shadows,
01:24:27it kind of just made me feel a little bit like, like I have something still left.
01:24:32You have so, this is just the beginning.
01:24:35I think that's what you need to realize.
01:24:36Yeah.
01:24:37Now it's time for some strategy.
01:24:38So will you choose to take the $3,000 or add $1,000 to your final appraisal?
01:24:45We're taking money!
01:24:46Come get your money!
01:24:47$3,000!
01:24:49Don't give it to her.
01:24:50Don't give it to her.
01:24:52It's annoying that Scott won.
01:24:54Scott is just so smug and so happy with himself.
01:24:57Hold on, I want everybody to smell that money!
01:25:00Smell that money!
01:25:02Wow, wow, somebody get this guy out of here.
01:25:04You can't show off when you win.
01:25:06He was flashing the money at the end.
01:25:07I'm like, dude, look, it's not how you start, it's how you finish.
01:25:09The future's bright for us.
01:25:11As long as we stay the course.
01:25:13Teams, the Scott and Brooke win is just the beginning.
01:25:17One big battle down, six more to go.
01:25:20So get some rest and I'll see you right back here tomorrow morning.
01:25:32This season on Rock the Block.
01:25:35We've been saving for a big move and now is the time.
01:25:38This is going to beat what anybody else is doing.
01:25:42One of these homes is not like the others.
01:25:45Score.
01:25:46We're quiet and we're sneaky.
01:25:47That's how we won Survivor.
01:25:48We're going to be able to prove that we can rock the block.
01:25:51We're unstoppable.
01:25:52We're going to go big and do things that no one had ever done before.
01:25:55That is gorgeous.
01:25:58I never thought I'd be shedding tears.
