00:01Iran has said that it will not be sending a delegation to participate in the second round of high-stakes
00:05peace talks with the United States,
00:07which was set to take place in the Pakistani capital Islamabad on Monday.
00:12It comes after the U.S. military announced on Sunday that it had seized an Iranian-flagged commercial vessel,
00:18attempting to evade the U.S. naval blockade of Iranian ports.
00:23The seizure was the first by the U.S. Navy since the blockade was instated last week,
00:28and comes in response to Iran's closing of the Strategic Strait of Hormuz,
00:32which has sent global energy prices soaring.
00:35Iran vowed a swift response to the U.S. development,
00:39which it called a violation of the ceasefire and an act of piracy.
00:44Earlier, Tehran's chief negotiator, Parliamentary Speaker Mohamed Bagher Khalibaf,
00:49detailed that several staking points persist with the U.S.,
00:53which would prevent a deal from being struck.
00:55Now have a change in the presence of perspectives,
01:02and we have a change in the experience of the U.S. military.
01:39It's not yet clear if the talks will continue ahead as planned without Iranian participation
01:44or whether the U.S. too would withdraw.
01:47U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to blow up the entirety of Iran if it fails
01:52to reach a deal with Washington before the expiration of the current fragile truce, set
01:57to end on the 22nd of April.
02:02U.S. forces have seized the Iranian-flagged cargo vessel Tuska in the Gulf of Oman.
02:08Now, video footage released by U.S. Central Command showed the USS Spruance issuing orders
02:16to that Iranian vessel to stop.
02:18They ignored those warnings and were subsequently fired upon.
02:22U.S. Marines now have custody of the vessel.
02:26Of course, U.S. President Donald Trump took to his social media to share the news.
02:30And this came just hours after accusations of ceasefire violations in the Strait of Ormuz
02:36were made.
02:37Now, the Iranian military have said that they will be responding to those attacks.
02:42They're calling the seizure an act of piracy.
02:45Now, the British military has raised its top alert level for the Strait of Ormuz.
02:50They are calling it critical.
02:53Over the weekend, the U.K., the British Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper, was here in the UAE.
02:59She was hosting bilateral talks, cementing that relationship between the UAE and the U.K.
03:06So, all eyes are focused to see what the day will bring as we move forwards and hopefully
03:11see those ceasefire talks resuming in the coming days.

03:23Cyprus is upgrading two key military installations with U.S. funding to reinforce its role as a
03:29humanitarian safe haven for evacuaries from conflicts in the Middle East, officials said.

03:41of accommodating dozens of heavy-lift military transport aircraft.
03:45The Euronews has implemented and established a national park, which has paid for the American
03:52side of the height of half a billion euros.
03:55We are going to study and study, which will cost the whole program, which is a lot of
04:03million euros, with the aim of the operation to be within 2027.
04:14The Evangelos Florakis naval base will receive a new U.S.-European command-funded heliport capable
04:20of accommodating large Chinook transport helicopters to airlift evacuees from conflict zones.

05:02Former Bulgarian President Roumen Radev is set to win the country's parliamentary elections.
05:08With almost all votes counted, Radev won around 45 percent of the vote, putting him on course
05:15to gain some 130 seats in the 240-seat parliament.
05:20The Liberal PPDB coalition is well behind at 15 percent and former Prime Minister Boyko
05:27Borisov's conservative Gerb party at 13 percent.
05:32This was Bulgaria's eighth election in the last five years.
05:37Radev ran on a pledge to fight corruption after an anti-graft movement triggered a long political
05:43crisis.
05:45He stepped down from the presidency in January to lead the movement and has promised to dismantle
05:51what he calls an oligarchic system.
05:54In terms of EU policy, Radev opposes sending arms to Ukraine, seeking closer ties with
06:00the Kremlin.
06:08Nearly a month after securing a razor thinner majority in Slovenia's parliamentary elections,
06:14Liberal Prime Minister Robert Golub admitted he had failed to form a ruling coalition.
06:20His announcement opens the door for conservative runner-up Janis Jansa to seek to form a coalition.
06:27Golub's party won 29 seats in last month's election, while the Conservatives of three-time Premier
06:34Jansa got 28 seats in the 90-seat parliament.
06:38Golub told reporters after meeting with President Natasa Pirq Musa that he is looking forward to
06:44working with the opposition, adding that he had not found a partner among centre-right parties
06:50for a governing coalition.
06:52Janis Jansa reiterated he was not in a rush to form a government while seeking to do what is
06:58the most ideal for the country, together with his Slovenian Democratic Party.
07:03If the candidate fails to win a majority, parties have ten days to put forward a new one.
07:13Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said in a video address released on Sunday that his
07:19country's strong economic ties to the United States were once a strength but are now a weakness
07:25that must be corrected.
07:27In the 10-minute address, Carney spoke about his government's effort to strengthen the Canadian
07:32economy by attracting new investments and signing trade deals with other countries.
07:38The world is more dangerous and divided, Carney said.
07:42The U.S. has fundamentally changed its approach to trade.
07:46Many of our former strengths, based on our close ties to America, have become weaknesses,
07:52weaknesses that must be correct.
07:54In his address, Carney said he wants to attract new investments to Canada,
07:59double the size of clean energy capacity and reduce trade barriers within the country.
08:04He also emphasised Canada's increased defence spending, tax reductions and efforts to make
08:10housing more affordable.
08:16At least three people have been killed in another U.S. military strike on a boat accused
08:22of ferrying drugs in the Caribbean Sea on Sunday.
08:25Authorities say the strikes are part of a campaign by the Trump administration to crack down on
08:32the smuggling of drugs into the United States.
08:35In the past week alone, strikes have killed at least 12 people.
08:40The blowing up of alleged drug trafficking vessels in Latin American waters has persisted
08:46since early September and has killed at least 181 people.
08:51The U.S. military has yet to provide any definitive evidence that the vessels targeted were indeed
08:58carrying drugs.
09:00Other strikes have taken place in the Eastern Pacific Ocean as well.
09:04International legal experts and right groups have criticised the attacks, saying they violate
09:10international law as they have mostly occurred in international waters and apparently target civilians
09:17who pose no threat to the U.S.
09:25A showdown between two giants of Western sculpture takes place beneath the Louvre pyramid.
09:30200 works including marbles, bronzes, plaster casts, terracottas and numerous drawings by
09:38Michelangelo and Rodin, separated by three and a half centuries, are on display at the famous
09:44Parisian Museum through the 20th of July.
09:46The exhibition aims to compare the art of these two geniuses through their shared central theme,
09:53the living body.
09:55The style of Michelangelo is really a style of the Renaissance, initiator of the maniärism.
10:01In this sense, his style is quite different from the of Rodin, who also, at his time,
10:08has really destroyed the codes of sculpture.
10:30To extend this physical encounter, the Louvre Museum also hosted two dance performances,
10:35inspired by the paintings and sculptures of the two artists and performed by dancers
10:40from the Paris Opera.
11:27de Rodin.
11:28By bringing together Michelangelo and Rodin,
11:31the Louvre offers a cross-disciplinary exploration of the history of sculpture.
11:35The exhibition does more than simply compare two artists.
11:39It shows how a single question representing the living spans the centuries.
