Adam Prescott filmed the video from inside the vehicle as the unexpected encounter unfolded.
The elephant can be seen running toward the vehicle, forcing the driver to quickly reverse to avoid a direct collision.
The tense moment left the vehicle's occupants stunned as the enormous animal approached.
Desigan Nadio, who was driving the safari vehicle, handled the situation perfectly, keeping the elephant away from the vehicle.
