Conservative Party Chairman Kevin Hollinrake says "Peter Mandelson was a wrong 'un from the start" as he criticises Sir Keir Starmer's defence that he 'didn't know' about the former US Ambassador's background. Lord Mandelson failed security vetting before being appointed to the UK's most prestigious Ambassadorial role. Report by Ketchs. 00:00Peter Mandelson's a wrong one from the start. He's had to resign, I think, at least two occasions in the
00:04past for wrongdoings.
00:05It was quite clear he had links to Epstein. The Prime Minister knew that at the time he appointed him.
00:11It's quite clear they had links to Russia and China, which I guess is the reason he failed his vetting
00:16with the security services.
00:19And Keir Starmer, he knew he had a due diligence report, which he read and was given to him.
00:28He admits that, or Number 10 admits that. So he can't simply hide behind, I didn't know.
00:34And let's not, let's also look at the fact that this all came to light really in September when Kemi
00:41Baird not pressed the Prime Minister on this, Prime Minister's questions.
00:45Now he's had months and months to understand the situation, if he didn't understand it then, which is pretty evident
00:53to everybody else.
00:54So to say somehow, oh my God, all this information, I didn't know anything about this, is simply not plausible.
