00:00I don't know.
00:39Hello, it's awfully nice to be back,
00:41pitch side at Hampden alongside the Scottish Cup.
00:44It's been a while.
00:46Looking forward to the second of this weekend's Scottish Cup semi-finals,
00:49Celtic against St Mirren.
00:53It's time!
00:55In recent years, the Scottish Cup has become almost a permanent fixture
00:59in the Celtic Trophy room.
01:01And he's done it!
01:03Quad football travel winners!
01:05Six times in the past nine seasons,
01:08they've elbowed off the famous Old Cup at Hampden.
01:12But last year, they came unstuck against Aberdeen.
01:19Since then, they've been practising.
01:26For St Mirren's Scottish Cup final appearances,
01:29have been few and far between.
01:31They first won the trophy 100 years ago this month against Celtic.
01:37And after victory over the same opponents
01:39in December's League Cup final at Hampden,
01:42could the Buddies land another shot today?
01:49Commentary comes from Stephen Cragan and Rob McLean.
01:53It's a tantalising prospect, Martin O'Neill's last match as Celtic manager
01:58could see him going head-to-head with the man who's been his own field lieutenant
02:03in many of his biggest successes, Neil Lennon.
02:07That would mean Celtic salvaging some success from a so far forgettable season.
02:12Or will St Mirren stay on course for a sensational Cup double,
02:17having beaten Celtic already here at Hampden this season.
02:23Celtic are without suspended Liam Scales.
02:2520-year-old Ben Arthurer makes only his sixth appearance alongside Austin Trustee.
02:30Arne Engels makes his first start in more than two months,
02:33with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain dropping out.
02:36And Celtic's problems with the central striking position continue.
02:39There's no Thomas Chivanchara, Kelechi Iheanacho's on the bench,
02:44so it's Dyson Maeda with only eight goals this season who leads the attack.
02:49In only his fifth match in charge of St Mirren,
02:52Cremo Cleish has to make one change to the team which lost 1-0 at Celtic Park last weekend.
02:58Shamal George had recovered from the injury he suffered in that game,
03:02but he was then injured in training.
03:04Ryan Mullen takes over in goal,
03:05and the last time Jonah Iyunga faced Celtic at Hampden,
03:09he scored twice on the way to winning the League Cup.
03:17Liam Donnelly with the throw.
03:27The first free kick of the match
03:30for that challenge on Killian Phillips.
03:35I think that's going to be an intriguing battle within the game, Rob.
03:38Who can gain control in the middle of the pitch?
03:41Who can stamp their authority on it really early on?
03:43Oh, it's a mistake.
03:44It's a horror moment for Ryan Mullen.
03:49Right at the start of the semi-final.
03:51And he's literally getting picked back up to his feet at the moment
03:56by his teammates.
03:58And Celtic are gifted the lead.
04:05A moment to forget,
04:08but he's not going to be able to forget about it quickly
04:10for Ryan Mullen.
04:12It's a disastrous start.
04:13He just takes a really heavy touch.
04:15He encourages Dyson Maeda
04:17to come and put him under pressure.
04:19And the one thing you know about the Japanese centre forward,
04:22he presses all the time.
04:24Nothing's ever lost for him.
04:25And Ryan Mullen,
04:26he gets caught dwelling in possession of the football
04:30and Dyson Maeda does what he does best.
04:32Puts people under pressure.
04:33And Celtic have the dream start,
04:35the perfect start.
04:40Celtic searching for a second goal.
04:47Septonic,
04:48as he does,
04:50jinxing inside and then outside.
04:53It's all opening up here.
04:55And it's so close.
04:59On angles,
05:00clipping the outside of the post
05:02as Celtic look to move further ahead.
05:07And it's all too easy for Celtic.
05:08There's no pressure on the ball
05:10to Nedgate.
05:11He's twisting,
05:11he's turning,
05:12no one engages with him.
05:13And the ball comes to Arne Engels
05:15from the edge of the box.
05:21Well,
05:22to say Ryan Mullen has a problem
05:24is maybe an understatement,
05:26but there is an issue here
05:29for Craig McLeish
05:30having brought in Mullen
05:33as Shamal George's replacement
05:36because he was injured in training.
05:38Might they have to go
05:39for their third choice goalkeeper here?
05:42Well,
05:42the issue clearly is a physical problem
05:44and it's not a mental issue
05:46after the goal.
05:48He's had a couple of clearances
05:49that he hasn't looked comfortable with.
05:53As we see a rerun of the goal,
05:54the pressure from Dyson Maida,
05:56Ryan Mullen just couldn't recover in time.
06:00And it's 17-year-old Grant Tamasovicius
06:03who is stepping in
06:07to the biggest moment
06:09of his football life.
06:11He always say
06:13every day as a professional footballer
06:15you have to prepare
06:16for your opportunity.
06:18So let's hope this young man
06:19has done everything right.
06:26and it was Benjamin Negrin
06:30and he'll be feeling
06:31a little bit better
06:32about himself.
06:34Tamasovicius
06:35getting good hands
06:36around this
06:37shot from
06:38Celtic's top scorer.
06:46Rolston and Young
06:47down that side.
06:49Negrin feeds it through
06:50Maida
06:51beaten away
06:52by Tamasovicius.
06:55A couple of saves already
06:56for the youngster
06:57off the bench.
06:58It's a big opportunity,
06:59isn't it?
06:59Benjamin Negrin
07:00lovely little reverse pass
07:01to Masovicius
07:02makes a brilliant save
07:03down to his right-hand side.
07:05That should give him
07:05a lot of confidence
07:06and belief.
07:10Mark O'Hara
07:11flights in the corner
07:12kick,
07:13what a save
07:14from Vilsin Isalo
07:17from Liam Donnelly's
07:19thumping header
07:20and he must have thought
07:22this was 1-1.
07:24It's a brilliant
07:25aggressive header
07:26from Liam Donnelly.
07:28The set play
07:29from Mark O'Hara
07:30is right on the money.
07:34Vilsin Isalo
07:35for trusty.
07:38Oh, mistake
07:39by Vilsin Isalo
07:40this time
07:41and he's clawed
07:42that off the line.
07:46And it was almost
07:48a replica
07:49of what happened
07:50in the first minute
07:51down at the other end.
07:54Well, this game
07:55is turning into
07:56a story of
07:57the goalkeepers
07:57with a claim
07:59and a handball
08:00which
08:00in the letter of the law
08:02is correct.
08:03He doesn't mean it.
08:04It hits his elbow
08:04but you cannot score.
08:07Got to say
08:07it's a right call
08:08for Matthew McDermott
08:09and the refereeing team
08:10but it's a massive
08:11let-off for Celtic
08:12and relief for Mark O'Neill.
08:19Setting the tone
08:20as ever the Celtic
08:22captain.
08:23Tierney's cross.
08:25Yang
08:26so close
08:27to number two.
08:32So close
08:33to his tenth goal
08:34of the season.
08:38Watching in agony
08:39here as it bounced
08:40back off the crossbar.
08:42And Kieran Tierney
08:42this time
08:43is the architect.
08:44It's a delightful ball.
08:45It just takes
08:45the full back line
08:46of Smyrna out of play
08:47and Yang
08:48he has to contort
08:50his body.
08:51in a really unusual way.
08:53It's a brilliant header.
08:55Goalkeeper can't move
08:55he just crashes
08:56off the crossbar.
08:58You can just see
08:58the anguish
08:59in his face.
09:00That could have been
09:01the cup tie right there.
09:04Iyunga homing in.
09:06Sinisalo took too long.
09:09What a chance
09:10for Kylian Phillips
09:13to get the semi-final
09:15back to all square.
09:17What was Sinisalo
09:18thinking here?
09:20Are goalkeepers
09:21ever going to learn
09:22in this game
09:22that you will not get
09:23three, four, five seconds
09:25in your goal line
09:25unopposed?
09:26He's just dwelling again.
09:28Make up your mind.
09:29Make a positive decision.
09:30It's good pressing
09:30from Iyunga.
09:32And unfortunately
09:33Kylian Phillips
09:34just doesn't have the finish.
09:35Can't generate the power.
09:36Yes, you can hold
09:37your hand up
09:38but I can tell you
09:38you're a lucky boy.
09:42Freckleton's header away.
09:45Unloaded by Engels
09:46finding Tenekti.
09:49Tierney ahead of him
09:50as Tenekti
09:52cuts inside.
09:53Young takes a touch
09:54then rolls it back.
09:58Celtic
09:58have their second goal
10:00right on half-time.
10:03And it's Tony Ralston.
10:06And it's a hammer blow
10:08for St Mirren
10:08right on the half-time whistle.
10:11Tenekti who's been quiet
10:12at times
10:12but we know he loves
10:14to come inside
10:14but look at the vision
10:16and the awareness of Yang.
10:17He could have easily
10:18have fired that across goal
10:19and hoped
10:19that someone would have
10:20gotten the end of it
10:21but he recognises
10:22Tony Ralston's free
10:23behind him.
10:24It's a lovely little back heel
10:25and then it's about
10:26the composure of Ralston
10:27making sure he generates
10:28enough power.
10:29He gets the ball
10:30off the ground
10:31and it's the third time
10:33in the half
10:33they've hit the crossbar
10:35and it's third time
10:36lucky
10:36and just nestles
10:38in the back of the net
10:38and it looks a long way
10:40back now for St Mirren.
10:46Well, it's Yang's turn
10:48to give the ball away.
10:57And he abnormally
10:58manages to hold on
10:59to possession
11:01now Frackleton
11:02Phillips
11:03ahead of him
11:04here's Declan John
11:06stands it up
11:08by post
11:09St Mirren
11:10have that goal back
11:12they bring the
11:13semi-final
11:14back to life.
11:17Well, St Mirren
11:18needed something special
11:19they needed a player
11:20to step up
11:21and take a little bit
11:22of responsibility
11:23and first of all
11:24you've got to credit
11:25Declan John
11:27he's the instigator
11:28down the left hand side
11:29it's a delightful cross
11:30stands it up
11:31to the back post
11:31he knows
11:32without your
11:32Miko Amandran
11:33likes to hang about
11:34and once he puts
11:35a cross in
11:36there's only going to be
11:37one outcome
11:37he just uses
11:39his body
11:39he uses the pace
11:41on the cross
11:41and it's all about
11:42the direction
11:43redirecting the ball
11:44back across goal
11:46and Sinasalo
11:46is absolutely
11:47no chance
11:48and out of nothing
11:49Sir Mirren
11:50are packing this cup tight.
11:52Yeah, Nacho
11:53couldn't control
11:54the ball
12:01that's good ball winning
12:03from St Mirren
12:04get it out of nothing
12:10and Doru
12:11heading for the
12:11byline
12:12there's the cup
12:12back
12:14Sinasalo
12:15makes the save
12:15and again
12:18Mikael Mandron
12:19has his head
12:20in his arms
12:22he's made an impact
12:23hasn't he
12:24rolling the dough
12:24he's been really
12:26positive when he's
12:26got the ball
12:27Conor McMenamin's
12:28right foot
12:28can't generate
12:29the power
12:29ball comes back
12:30Mandron has another
12:31go and it's a
12:32smart save
12:32by Sinasalo

12:49Mikael Mandron
12:52rescues
12:53St Mirren
12:56with a
12:57Hamden
12:57double
12:58which looks
13:00very much
13:00as if it's
13:02going to take
13:03the second
13:03semi-final
13:04like the first
13:05one
13:05into
13:06extra time
13:08well
13:09it's a
13:10sensational
13:11finish
13:11from Mikael
13:12Mandron
13:12he hasn't
13:14had his
13:14greatest game
13:15this afternoon
13:16but he's
13:16carried a
13:16threat
13:17he's always
13:18where he
13:19needs to be
13:21it's a
13:21simple go
13:22any natural
13:22gives the
13:23ball away
13:23St Mirren
13:24just keep it
13:24alive
13:25but it's that
13:25touch from
13:26Jake Young
13:26the alertness
13:27from Mandron
13:28he anticipates
13:29it coming
13:29through
13:30he waits
13:31for the
13:31ball to
13:31settle
13:32on his
13:32right foot
13:33he composes
13:34himself
13:35as a senior
13:36striker should
13:36do and he
13:37just rifles
13:38it low
13:39into the
13:39bottom
13:39corner
13:40he's brought
13:41St Mirren
13:42back from
13:42the dead
13:43and this
13:43game is
13:44really alive
13:48we're almost
13:50finished
13:51it's Maeda
13:54and
13:54Sriracha
13:55and a great
13:57cross ball
13:57in
13:58and it's
13:59such an
13:59important header
14:00by Miguel
14:02Freckleton
14:03and he had to
14:04make it
14:05look at
14:05Sriracha
14:06Dan Embers
14:06of the game
14:07charging forward
14:08if he doesn't
14:09get the touch
14:10Iheanacho
14:10taps it in
14:20Forrest
14:21darting to the
14:22byline
14:23it's a great
14:23ball in
14:26Celtic
14:26are back in
14:27front
14:27Kelechi
14:28Iheanacho
14:31is that the goal
14:32that settles
14:33this semi-final
14:35well
14:36James Forrest
14:37as we know
14:37can come on
14:39to the pitch
14:39and he can
14:39light the game
14:40up
14:40he's positive
14:41he takes
14:41players on
14:43and Iheanacho
14:44just frees himself
14:45between
14:46Goggins and
14:46Freckleton
14:47he knows
14:48the cross
14:49will come
14:49from Forrest
14:50he knows
14:50it'll be

14:51and it
14:51is
15:02here goes
15:02Forrest
15:03again
15:06this could
15:06work out
15:07and it
15:08certainly
15:09does
15:14Luke
15:14McCowan
15:16surely
15:16sends
15:17Celtic
15:18to the
15:18Scottish
15:19Cup
15:19final
15:20and that's
15:21how you
15:21take a game
15:22away
15:22from your
15:22opponents
15:24to really
15:25unlock it
15:26he's trying
15:26to defend
15:26he's trying
15:27to stack
15:27a leg
15:27out
15:28he just
15:28puts the
15:29ball
15:29back
15:29into
15:31the path
15:32off
15:33Luke
15:34McCowan
15:34and then
15:35it's all
15:35with the
15:35composure
15:36it's actually
15:36coming
15:36to flex it
15:37through
15:43St.
15:44Murren
15:44have got
15:44that
15:44flattening
15:45feeling
15:45at the
15:45moment
15:46and they've
15:47given it
15:47away
15:47straight
15:48to
15:48Maeda
15:49this is

16:03Benjamin
16:04Negrin
16:04doesn't have

16:05unusual
16:15here's
16:16forrest
16:18yet again
16:18playing a
16:19massive
16:19part
16:20for
16:20Celtic
16:20he's
16:21just such
16:22a clever
16:22player
16:23when the
16:23opposition
16:24team
16:24start
16:24to get
16:25a little
16:25bit
16:25tired
16:25he comes

16:29McCowan
16:31Iheanacho
16:32he's
16:33scored
16:33again
16:37Celtic
16:37are
16:37suddenly

16:45Murren
16:45in the
16:46first period
16:47of extra
16:47time
16:48well that's
16:49how you
16:49make an
16:49impact
16:50as a
16:50substitution
16:52the first
16:53goal
16:53was a
16:54lovely
16:54little
16:54header
16:55that was
16:55all about
16:55finding
16:56space
16:56this one
16:57is just
16:58about

17:18it's a
17:18terrific

17:21suddenly
17:22Celtic
17:23have
17:23taken it
17:24away

17:34that
17:35might have
17:35got there

17:47well this
17:48is

17:50Celtic
17:50look at

18:06he splits
18:06opinion
18:07amongst
18:07Celtic
18:08supporters
18:08but the
18:08one thing
18:09he does
18:09he gets
18:10goals
18:10he puts
18:11themselves
18:11in
18:11position
18:12they get
18:13goals
18:13and it's
18:14an incredible
18:15scoreline
18:166-2
18:18I never
18:19felt
18:19that St
18:20Mary
18:20were ever
18:21out of
18:21the game
18:21because
18:22they've
18:22got good
18:23strength
18:25and I
18:26think
18:26before the
18:27game
18:27they would
18:27have
18:28taken
18:28confidence
18:28from
18:29having
18:29beaten
18:29us
18:30in the
18:30final
18:30a few
18:30months
18:31ago
18:31in the
18:31League
18:32Cup
18:32so all
18:33of those
18:33things
18:34are there
18:35to play
18:35for
18:36overall
18:38there was
18:39parts of
18:40the game
18:40where we
18:41didn't do
18:41very well
18:42there were
18:43parts of
18:43the game
18:43where we
18:44were absolutely
18:44splendid
18:45really
18:46splendid
18:46at the
18:47end of
18:47all
18:47but there
18:48is a
18:48great
18:48spirit
18:49among
18:49their
18:49team
18:49losing
18:50the goal
18:50and half
18:50time
18:51sore
18:52because
18:52in
18:52between
18:53the
18:53two
18:53goals
18:53I
18:54didn't
18:54think
18:54there
18:54was
18:54overly
18:55much
18:55in it
18:55I know
18:55Celtic still
18:56have
18:56real bits
18:57of quality
18:58and hit
18:58the woodwork
18:58and things
19:00but second half
19:01we set out
19:02what we wanted
19:02to do
19:03we delivered
19:03more balls
19:04into the box
19:04we caused
19:04them problems
19:05we created
19:05our own
19:06chances
19:07probably just
19:08that momentum
19:08going into
19:09extra time
19:10gave Celtic
19:11the chance
19:11to probably
19:12regroup
19:13and then
19:13it became
19:14an even game
19:14again
19:15because I think
19:15if that game
19:16goes on for
19:17another five
19:17ten minutes
19:18I think
19:18everyone would
19:19agree we were
19:19the team in the
19:21incendency at that
19:21point
19:22You didn't want to
19:22discuss this
19:23understandably before
19:24the game but it's
19:25O'Neill versus
19:25Lennon in the
19:26final
19:26He's been
19:27fantastic for me
19:28both at Leicester
19:29and at Celtic
19:30his record in
19:31management is
19:32really terrific
19:33and what a job
19:34he's doing at
19:35Dunfermline
19:35they get to the
19:36final
19:36but there'll be
19:38no pals act
19:39at this particular
19:40set
19:40no old pals
19:42act
19:42that's what it is
19:43but yeah
19:45great result
19:46for him yesterday
19:47I'm just pleased
19:48that we're in
19:49the final
19:50with him
19:51So just another
19:52page in the
19:53incredible story
19:54of this
19:55astonishing
19:56Scottish football
19:56season
19:57Celtic 2-0 up
19:58at half time
19:59against a St Mirren
20:00team who had to
20:01bring on a 17
20:02year old goalkeeper
20:03for his first team
20:04debut
20:05St Mirren then
20:06scored twice
20:06into extra time
20:08and Celtic scored
20:09four times
20:10in the first 12
20:11minutes
20:11how do you make
20:12sense of all that
20:13well Steve
20:14Cregan has just
20:15joined Darren
20:16a day and
20:16Darren let's start
20:17with you
20:18how do you make
20:18sense of an
20:19astonishing match
20:20I do not know
20:21I do not know
20:22it just went
20:23back and forth
20:24it was like both
20:24teams were trying
20:25to help each
20:26other out
20:26and it ends
20:27up with Celtic
20:28obviously running
20:29away in the end
20:29but it doesn't
20:30tell the full story
20:31when you look at
20:31the scoreline
20:32absolutely not
20:33it started in the
20:34very first minute
20:34of course
20:35didn't it
20:36horrendous mistake
20:37by poor Ryan
20:38Mullen
20:38it was action packed
20:39there's no doubt
20:39about it
20:40but the one thing
20:41you don't want to
20:42do in a semi-final
20:43is give the
20:43opposition any
20:44kind of encouragement
20:45and Ryan Mullen
20:46does exactly that
20:46the one player
20:47you don't want to
20:48dwell on the
20:48ball against
20:49is Dyson
20:50Maida
20:50just his intensity
20:51the pace he goes
20:52at puts him
20:53under pressure
20:54puts you know
20:55Ryan Mullen
20:56in all sorts of
20:56trouble
20:57and you then
20:58start to worry
20:58for St Mirren
20:59at that point
21:00but it's a
21:00perfect start for
21:00Celtic and a
21:01nightmare start for
21:02St Mirren
21:02and then of course
21:03poor Mullen
21:04then gets injured
21:04has to come off
21:05the only alternative
21:07for Saints
21:07is a 17 year old
21:09well sometimes
21:11you don't plan
21:12for your opportunity
21:13you have to just
21:14make sure that
21:15when it does come
21:15along that you're
21:16ready for it
21:16he was ready for it
21:18Tomas Vicious
21:20I thought he'd done
21:21very well
21:21he handled the
21:22situation
21:22I don't think his
21:23teammates helped
21:23him out early on
21:24they kept rolling
21:25the ball back to him
21:25and I'm thinking
21:26try and relieve a
21:26little bit of
21:27pressure for him
21:27rather than putting
21:28them under the
21:29cosh but I've got to
21:29say as the game
21:30went on he really
21:31grew into it
21:31have to say that
21:32the Celtic keeper
21:33didn't look too
21:34comfortable as well
21:35early on
21:36he had a few
21:36anxious moments
21:37didn't he
21:37yeah he did
21:38but I think that
21:39comes from the
21:40players in front of
21:41him have to take
21:42responsibility
21:42ultimately he's a
21:43goalkeeper
21:44I'm all for
21:45keepers being
21:46involved in the
21:46game and they're
21:47an extra player
21:47in terms of when
21:48you're in possession
21:49but I just think
21:50Celtic were
21:51it was just an
21:52easy out ball
21:52just to give it
21:53back to the
21:53goalkeeper and
21:54pass responsibility
21:54I think the
21:55centre-backs need
21:55to find full-backs
21:56quicker and progress
21:58the ball further
21:58and take responsibility
21:59essentially
22:00both teams were
22:01passing back to
22:02their keeper
22:02far too much
22:03in the game
22:03and it caused
22:03issues
22:04and just when
22:05it looked as if
22:06Saints were going
22:06to get to
22:06half-time only
22:071-0 down
22:08Anthony Ralskin
22:09scores to be
22:10fair a cracking
22:10goal
22:11it was a great
22:11goal and I
22:12think you look at
22:13the part of
22:13Sebastian Tenetke
22:15in the left-hand
22:15side and I
22:15thought for Long's
22:16builds he was
22:17quiet but he
22:17skips in inside
22:18in his right foot
22:19I'm thinking he's
22:19going to have a
22:19shot he plays it
22:20across to Yang
22:21on the other side
22:21and Yang when he
22:23goes outside it
22:23would have been so
22:24easy for him to
22:25visit across the
22:25face of goal
22:26but his recognition
22:27of where Tony
22:27Ralston was on
22:28the pitch his
22:29awareness that he
22:30was behind him
22:30rolls it back to
22:31him and yes you
22:32have to say it's
22:33an emphatic finish
22:33from Tony Ralston
22:34it probably wasn't
22:35something we
22:35expected from him
22:36yes he expected
22:37him to put his
22:37foot through the
22:38ball and put a
22:38bit of pace but
22:39he put a bit of
22:39precision on it as
22:40well in off the
22:40crossbar so it was
22:42the perfect end to
22:43the first half for
22:43Celtic
22:44it certainly was
22:45and then into the
22:45second half
22:46everybody's obviously
22:47saying well Celtic
22:48should go through
22:49from this stage
22:49Darren but all
22:50credit to St.
22:51Murren too and
22:52especially Mikael
22:53Mandraan
22:53yeah and it's
22:55something probably I
22:56think Craig
22:57as you look back
22:58they didn't
22:59utilise enough
22:59the two big guys
23:00at the front end
23:01of the pitch and
23:02even Philips in
23:03behind that so
23:04they had a lot of
23:04strength and
23:05physicality I think
23:06in the second half
23:06they just play to
23:07that more the
23:08ball into the box
23:09for his first goal
23:09is fantastic and
23:10it's actually a
23:11fantastic header to
23:12get up he's up
23:13above I think it's
23:13between Kieran
23:14Tierney and
23:15Trusty but it's
23:16guides it back
23:17across the goal
23:18which you're taught
23:18to do but it's a
23:19lot more difficult
23:20than it looks so
23:22they just played
23:23forward quickly I
23:24think quicker
23:25sorry St.
23:25Merren and they
23:26got the rewards
23:27and their second
23:27goal or sorry
23:28his second goal
23:28comes from kind
23:29of a ball
23:30gets help back
23:31on and he's
23:32in he's into a
23:33foot race and
23:33a brilliant finish
23:34again so I
23:36suppose you said
23:36it's summed up
23:37Scottish football
23:38I think here
23:38Scottish football
23:39this year
23:39yeah that kind
23:41of 45 minutes
23:41I think I'm a 90th
23:42minute equaliser I
23:43mean you can't
23:44strip this stuff
23:45can you
23:45at that stage
23:46you're thinking
23:47right St.
23:48Merren have
23:48Celtic exactly
23:49where they want
23:50them there was
23:50going to be lots
23:51of question against
23:52the Celtic team
23:53I'm sure Martin
23:53O'Neill was
23:54probably questioning
23:54his players he
23:55would have learned
23:56an awful lot about
23:56his players in
23:57extra time the
23:58nervousness from
23:59now in Celtic
23:59St.
24:00Merren had the
24:00momentum you think
24:01right the game is
24:02there for you but
24:03you know when you
24:04come up against
24:04quality players if you
24:05don't defend right
24:06and you give them
24:06opportunities they can
24:08cut you open they
24:09can be clinical and
24:10Celtic were yeah they
24:11were I mean four
24:12goals and what did
24:12you say an eight
24:13minute of spell
24:13six or eight
24:14minutes yeah and
24:15they just kept one
24:16after the other
24:17after the other you
24:17could see St.
24:19Merren becoming
24:19deflated you can see
24:20Celtic really growing
24:21in confidence and
24:22they really forced
24:23the issue they were
24:24pressing high they
24:24were nicking things
24:25there was bodies in
24:26the box and once
24:27that tide starts
24:28sometimes as an
24:29opposing player it's
24:30very difficult to
24:31stop yeah and that
24:32was pretty obvious
24:33actually Dan you
24:33could actually almost
24:34see the St.
24:34Merren heads go down
24:35couldn't you yeah
24:36yeah and listen
24:37they recovered really
24:38well early on in the
24:39game in terms of
24:40conceding in the
24:40first minute it was
24:41probably just too
24:42much I think James
24:43Forrest had a
24:44massive input in the
24:45game that for the
24:45third goal probably
24:47something Celtic have
24:48been screaming out
24:48for all year is
24:49someone taking the
24:50responsibility and
24:51going one v one and
24:52he stands up a
24:53lovely ball and
24:54Ian Hatchel finishes
24:54it off and as you
24:56say after that
24:56St.
24:57Merren just imploded
24:58really and Celtic you
24:59have to you have to
24:59say give them credit
25:00they capitalise on it
25:02yeah it's a strange
25:04one isn't it
25:04Craig's because you
25:06can't be critical can
25:07you have a team that
25:07just won 6-2 but
25:09again it was a
25:10let's say a patchy
25:11Celtic performance
25:13it was patchy
25:14throughout the 90
25:14minutes at various
25:16stages in the extra
25:17time you thought
25:17this is where the
25:19experience and the
25:19quality and the
25:21resources that they
25:21have and the depth
25:23of player depth of
25:24squad they had comes
25:24on and shows what
25:25they're all about
25:26but Marnoil won't be
25:27100% happy I think
25:30they still look
25:30vulnerable defensively
25:31clean sheets have
25:32been a major issue
25:33I think that's two
25:34clean sheets in the
25:34last 12 domestic
25:35games so the
25:36opposition are always
25:37getting the chance
25:37they've got six huge
25:39games coming up
25:39five within the
25:40premiership the
25:41chance of winning the
25:41title and they've
25:42got a massive
25:42Scottish Cup fan
25:43coming as well so
25:44they know they can
25:45attack they know
25:45they can cut teams
25:46open defensively
25:47they have to be
25:47better yeah and
25:48just a line really
25:49Darren Celtic still in
25:51for the possibility
25:52of a league and cup
25:53double yeah and
25:54listen Marnoil has
25:56to take an enormous
25:57amount of credit
25:58for that that they're
25:59there because they
26:00haven't performed
26:01particularly well for
26:02a large part of the
26:03season I think that's
26:04fair I think any
26:05Celtic fan would
26:05admit that but
26:07they're there they're
26:07there and I have to
26:08say the crowd stuck
26:09with them today the
26:10goal to each they
26:10stuck with them and
26:11they're going to need
26:12them now with the
26:12running in the league
26:13so Celtic through to
26:15the Scottish Cup final
26:16where we knew that
26:17they would meet
26:18Dunferman under
26:19Neil Lennon let's
26:20look back at the
26:21highlights such as
26:22they were of
26:23yesterday's game
26:24with commentary from
26:25James McFadden and
26:26Lee McLeod
26:33headed away by
26:34N'Gwenia there
26:36Kane heading on
26:37now Callum
26:38Morrison's in this
26:39could be the dream
26:39start for Deferman
26:40and he's blown it
26:44he's blown it big
26:45time the former
26:46Bairn
26:49that's a huge
26:50opportunity early for
26:51him as you say
26:52former fall cut man
26:53I thought he may well
26:54have been offside but
26:55it looks like he's
26:56timed that run
26:56perfectly
26:57almost a dream start
26:58for Dunferman
27:04Miller crucial flick
27:05here's Wilson
27:06Stewart ahead of him
27:08can he find him
27:10instead it comes out
27:11to Brogio
27:13not far away
27:16not far away
27:18comes from Nguenia
27:20going and trying to win
27:21a ball he's never
27:21going to win
27:22and Wilson just can't
27:23get out of his feet
27:24but he spots Brogio
27:26and he's just trying to
27:26pass that into the far
27:27corner
27:30it's edgy
27:31it is edgy here
27:36there's an opportunity
27:37for the bars here
27:38and that's another one
27:39that comes
27:41and goes
27:43my goodness
27:44what a chance it was
27:45for the teenager fight
27:48ten minutes from pens
27:52and it's a second opportunity
28:00for Lewis Fyfe
28:01he thinks he's scored
28:03there's no doubt
28:04he thinks he's scored
28:12there's Graham
28:13nice touch back
28:14it's Ross
28:16and Oxfra finally
28:17is a save to make
28:18113 minutes into it
28:21yeah
28:22good play
28:22Brian Graham
28:30Cartwright goes down
28:31he's going to be
28:32booked for diving here
28:36and he's been
28:38shown a second
28:41and ordered off
28:42and the VAR team
28:44are happy with it
28:55and it's a big
28:57big miss
28:58and it is
28:59a big
29:00big advantage
29:01for Dunfermline
29:02Athletic
29:03so Dunfermline
29:05looking to take
29:06full advantage of that
29:07and they have done
29:10Josh Cooper
29:11decisive
29:121-0 Dunfermline
29:15up against
29:16Aston Oxfra
29:17it's Henderson
29:17and that's Puyar
29:22and Dunfermline
29:24have a grip on this shootout
29:28this is a chance
29:30this is a chance
29:31to send Dunfermline
29:32into the 2026 Scottish Cup final
29:35for Tashan Oakley Booth
29:38to eliminate a third premiership side this season
29:44it is incredible
29:46it is incredible
29:47Dunfermline
29:47athletic
29:48Scottish Cup finalists
29:56the emotion
29:58etched all over the face
29:59of Neil Lennon
30:00I thought we were great today
30:02I thought the game was attritional
30:03there was a lot of nerves out there
30:04but we had the better chances
30:06you know
30:06and Callum had a great chance early on
30:08and then young Lucas
30:10and the extra time
30:11you know
30:11we thought
30:13could have put it to bed
30:14you know
30:15twice
30:15these players
30:16have covered themselves in glory
30:18all the way through this
30:19and now we've got one to go
30:21yes
30:22an emotional
30:23Neil Lennon
30:23after that win
30:24over a Falkirk side
30:26who were clearly
30:26disappointed with their performance
30:28on the day
30:29so we'll be back here
30:30at Hampden
30:31on Saturday the 23rd of May
30:33for the Cup final
30:34Dunfermline
30:35against Celtic
30:36how do we see that one going lads
30:38from Darren
30:40yeah it's going to be interesting
30:41obviously there's a subplot to it
30:43with Neil Lennon
30:44and Martin O'Neill
30:45facing off
30:46and the relationship they have
30:48but one thing's for sure
30:49the two of them
30:50are born kind of winners
30:52so
30:54any sort of relationship
30:55I'm sure will get put to the side
30:56for however long it takes
30:58to come to a conclusion
30:59but
31:00yeah
31:01a brilliant game
31:02to look forward to
31:03for both clubs
31:03and I was delighted to see
31:05Neil
31:06go through yesterday
31:08he deserves it
31:08he's had a really good run
31:09at Dunfermline
31:10this season
31:11Celtic clearly
31:12was that big big favourite
31:13Stephen obviously
31:14but with this Celtic team
31:16you just never really know
31:17do you
31:17well
31:18Neil Lennon
31:19and Dunfermline
31:19will be thinking
31:20if we can get the Celtic
31:21of 90 minutes
31:22we've got a chance
31:23if we get the Celtic
31:24of extra time
31:25we could be in trouble
31:26so it's going to be
31:28the mentor
31:28against the apprentice
31:29and it's one that we'll all
31:30certainly be looking forward to
31:31and there'll be no inch given
31:33no quarter given
31:33there'll be two managers
31:35experienced managers
