00:00This is an historic moment. For the first time ever, two black women have a title match in the main
00:05event at Wrestlemania.
00:08Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:10And today, we're counting down our picks for the greatest women's belts to take place at WWE's flagship annual event,
00:16Wrestlemania,
00:17throughout its vast history, either due to the content in the ring or the context behind the match.
00:22That's one of the best matches I've ever witnessed, period, bar none.
00:29Number 10. Eoskai vs. Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley
00:33Wrestlemania 41
00:35One of the most difficult positions to be in on a Wrestlemania card is the opening match.
00:40Yet, when you throw in a mixed reception to Night 1 of 2025's Wrestlemania 41,
00:45the pressure was even bigger for these women for opening Night 2.
00:49Out of Vegas! Bianca! Judy Starr! Cover down! Hook of the leg and Rhea with a runny knee!
00:54Connected with that full 50 splash there, Cole, but I get the point. Dangerously affected guy!
01:00Cover now by Rhea!
01:01Plus, they had to contend with a lackluster feud leading up to the event, with the women's champion Sky being
01:06especially underused.
01:08Yet Sky, Belair, and Ripley knocked it out of the park at the grandest stage of them all.
01:13Oh, and Rhea! Got the boots up!
01:18And Bianca caught it!
01:20K.O.D! Kiss of death!
01:22The three incredibly talented stars traded one move after another, resulting in fast-paced action and plenty of close calls.
01:29In the end, a Sky moonsault on Belair after she delivered the K.O.D. on Ripley saw the champ
01:34leave as champ.
01:36For the win! E.O. Sky! Over the moonsault! Cover on Belair! Sky wins!
01:50The seeds were sown for Rousey to compete in a WWE ring all the way back in 2015's WrestleMania 31,
01:57when she and The Rock confronted Triple H and Stephanie.
02:00Three years later, we saw that altercation reach its climax.
02:03He's squaring off with a 14-time world champion!
02:08Oh, oh, oh!
02:08Rousey!
02:08Oh!
02:09Get your hands up!
02:09Put your hands up!
02:11Get your hands up!
02:13Rousey!
02:13Uploading at Triple H!
02:15With Angle's return to the WWE ring, too, he teamed up with the MMA legend in a mixed tag match
02:20at 2018's WrestleMania 34.
02:23For some, it was not only the best mixed tag bout in WrestleMania history, but perhaps throughout the company's history.
02:29He's trying to help!
02:31Anchor lost by Kurt Angle!
02:34Stephanie trying to hang on!
02:36Oh!
02:37Oh my God!
02:38Fans couldn't take their eyes off the screen as each moment felt like genuine hatred between the two teams.
02:43With Angle and Hunter playing on their longtime rivalry, Rousey looked like a machine for her wrestling debut as she
02:49collected the win.
02:50I cannot say how impressed I am with the in-ring debut tonight of Rowdy Ronda Rousey.
02:57An absolutely incredible night for this young lady!
03:00Number 8.
03:01Jazz vs. Trish Stratus vs. Lita.
03:04WrestleMania 18.
03:05Perhaps the greatest women's rivalry in wrestling history, Lita and Trish constantly put on a fantastic show with their wrestling
03:12and storytelling talents.
03:14Yet, when Jazz was added to the mix, she added a vital component.
03:18And not because she was defending the women's champion.
03:29The trio was given the worst slot on the card for 2002's WrestleMania 18 by having to follow The Rock
03:35vs. Hulk Hogan.
03:37Yet, despite that, their quick and fierce match barely slowed for a second.
03:41Get her!
03:42One!
03:42Two!
03:43Roll up!
03:44Two!
03:45A little near fall there.
03:47Whoa!
03:48One!
03:49Trish rolling through!
03:50In the end, the champ retained after a brutal fisherman suplex from the top robe on Lita.
03:55From her rich career, Jazz selected this match as her favorite, especially because she was the first black WWE women's
04:01champion to compete at WrestleMania.
04:03I'll tell you what, you gotta respect her toughness.
04:07But, as far as that's concerned, the same goes for Lita and for Trish.
04:11Number 7.
04:12Alundra Blaze vs. Leilani Kai.
04:15WrestleMania 10.
04:16Beyond a mixed tag match at 1990's WrestleMania 6, there hadn't been an all-women's match at WrestleMania since the
04:22second edition of the event in 1986.
04:25For eight years, the card lacked it as women's wrestling was ignored by the WWE.
04:30Well, thankfully, that changed for 1994's WrestleMania 10.
04:33Well, I think that you can see this title change hands right here.
04:36Oh, really?
04:37Yeah.
04:37Well, anything can happen after the results of that first match.
04:41Look at that.
04:41Oh!
04:43Alundra Blaze.
04:44Quick as a cat.
04:45A few months before, in late 1993, Blaze won the women's championship after the title had been defunct since 1990.
04:52Blaze went into WrestleMania 10 to defend the belt against the monster heel Kai.
04:57No telling who else is gonna join us.
04:59We're at WrestleMania.
05:00Look at this maneuver.
05:02That was nicely executed.
05:04Cover was it!
05:05While the match was short, ending within 3 minutes 20 seconds as Blaze retained the belt,
05:10it's best known for laying the groundwork for the return of women's wrestling at WrestleMania.
05:14And still, world wrestling country champion, women's champion of WrestleMania!
05:23Number 6.
05:25Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka.
05:27WrestleMania 34.
05:28In 2017, after becoming a monster of a competitor in NXT, Asuka arrived on the main roster and continued her
05:35dominance.
05:36As such, she went on to be the last one standing in the first women's Royal Rumble match in 2018,
05:41using her win to challenge the reigning SmackDown women's champion Charlotte at WrestleMania 34.
05:46No one was ready for Asuka.
05:50Asuka is a history maker.
05:53Asuka is going to WrestleMania!
05:57Coming into the event, Asuka had been undefeated for 914 days, taking part in 276 matches.
06:05With this added drama, fans were hooked as the Japanese icon stepped into the ring with Charlotte,
06:10as they expected a title change.
06:12Caught by the turnbuckle!
06:13Let's go!
06:14Back in the ring!
06:15No, no!
06:15Asuka now!
06:17Wait, no, no!
06:17Asuka, no!
06:18Oh, no!
06:19To the floor!
06:20With a suplex!
06:22Yet shockingly, the Empress of Tomorrow tapped out after a technically astounding and gripping bout.
06:27Unsurprisingly, for many, including legendary wrestlers, it was the best match at WrestleMania 34.
06:34What a special moment for that young lady right there!
06:37She earned this victory!
06:39She earned the right to continue to be called SmackDown Women's Champion!
06:43Number 5.
06:44Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James
06:46WrestleMania 22
06:48Another contender for the greatest women's wrestling feud in history,
06:52Mickie initially arrived at WWE as Trish's biggest fan in 2005.
06:56However, her admiration quickly became an obsession, resulting in Mickie snapping after Trish rejected her advances.
07:02Armed with a different and fascinating feud, Trish defended her women's championship against Mickie at 2006's WrestleMania 22.
07:10Greatest female competitors of the last several years in the WWE, but King Nobleman as unpredictable as Mickie James!
07:22Throughout the bout, Mickie was a master at playing up her unhinged character as she humiliated an uncomfortable Trish as
07:28much as possible,
07:29even using the Canadians' own moves against her.
07:31Mickie James countered Trish Stratus, and the end may be near for the women's champion with her title on the
07:41line!
07:41Amazingly, even the botched ending barely put a damper on the bout.
07:45Despite being a heel, the crowd firmly supported Mickie as she won the title and was solidified as a star.
07:51Here is your winner and the new WWE Women's Champion, Mickie James!
08:00Number 4, Trish Stratus vs. Jazz vs. Victoria, WrestleMania 19.
08:06A year after her last triple threat, Trish had improved greatly as a wrestler as she entered 2003's WrestleMania 19.
08:13I don't know if now's the time to ask the crowd's adulation.
08:16You've got a title to win.
08:18It's on this congeniality here.
08:20No, it's not.
08:21I think Trish has the crowd's adulation anytime.
08:23Taking on the heel duo of Jazz and the reigning women's champion Victoria, who were both already astonishing in the
08:30ring,
08:30Trish was desperate to reclaim the belt from her after losing it at 2002 Survivor Series.
08:35With Jazz showcasing her vast strength and Victoria using underhand tactics with Stevie Richards' help,
08:41Trish had everything against her, especially when they teamed up on her.
08:44Steven Richards, the confidant, the significant other, for lack of a better term, might be a little black.
08:52However, the plucky Canadian wouldn't back down, returning each time to meet her foes.
08:57She even took out Richards before a brutal chick kick downed Victoria and gave Trish the belt back.
09:02For this time, a new women's champion, Prince Rutherford!
09:16After wowing audiences with their work in NXT, the majority of the four horsewomen, with Bayley reigning as the NXT
09:23Women's Champion,
09:24changed the WWE landscape as they arrived on the main roster as part of the women's revolution.
09:29Constantly bringing out the best in each other, the trio faced off in a master-class bout at 2016's WrestleMania
09:3532.
09:36Charlotte can't quite get into the figure-up position.
09:38Yeah, and you gotta wonder if her left arm's gonna be bothering her trying to get into that figure-8
09:41because of the work that Becky has done on that arm.
09:43Yeah, and Sasha with a fucking splash!
09:45To showcase their importance, the winner would hold the women's championship, replacing the Divas title, which Charlotte held.
09:51The three women gave everything in the match.
09:54There's no break in a triple-thread match!
09:58Becky certainly knows that, so does Sasha.
10:00Oh, here's Sasha!
10:02And a look into the bank statement!
10:04If there wasn't a near-fall or a finger-biting submission, Charlotte was moonsaulting to the outside of the ring.
10:09Eventually, Charlotte, while Sasha was held back by Ric Flair, tapped out Becky to win the new belt.
10:15What's Becky gonna do?
10:16What's Becky gonna do?
10:17Sasha, look at Flair!
10:19Flair at Sasha!
10:21Flair at Sasha!
10:22Becky tapped out!
10:23Number 2.
10:25Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley
10:27WrestleMania 39
10:28As the undisputed queen of WrestleMania, Charlotte always puts on a barn burner of a match at the iconic WWE
10:35event.
10:35And for 2023's WrestleMania 39, it was no exception.
10:39Rhea kicked out at two and a half!
10:41Just barely!
10:43Ripley now looking to see you in the prison lock submission!
10:46Aversion to the core relief!
10:48Following Ripley winning the 2023 Royal Rumble, Mami chose to face Charlotte for her SmackDown Women's Championship.
10:54A nod to Charlotte doing similarly at 2020's WrestleMania 36, when Ripley was NXT champ.
11:00With Samantha Irvin announcing and Jessica Carr as referee, this became the first all-women's match in WrestleMania history.
11:07Went for the spear!
11:08Almost took out referee Jessica Carr!
11:11Ripley with a handbutt!
11:14Ripley!
11:16Riptide!
11:16With that pressure, Flair and Ripley didn't disappoint at all.
11:21After a slow start, with the duo utilizing ring psychology and trash-talking, they threw everything they had at each
11:27other.
11:28It took Ripley delivering a Riptide from the top rope to finally put Charlotte down.
11:32And it might be!
11:35Riptide!
11:36Cover!
11:39Real Ripley's a SmackDown Women's Champion!
11:42Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
11:46Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair, WrestleMania 38.
11:50Belair got her title revenge after Becky beat her following her 2021 maternity return.
11:56Belair!
11:57Hoist up, Lynch!
11:59Yes!
12:00K.O.D!
12:01Center of the ring!
12:02Shoulders down!
12:03One!
12:04Two!
12:05Three!
12:05K.O.D!
12:06New champion!
12:08Leilani Kai vs. Wendy Richter, WrestleMania 1.
12:11The first women's match at WrestleMania is an important wrestling milestone.
12:15And they're both grabbing each other's hair and spinning around on the ropes, neither one of them.
12:19Wendy blocks the punch, comes back with a right of the road and sends Leilani flying across that ring.
12:24Victoria vs. Molly Holly, WrestleMania 20.
12:28Victoria's win ended with an iconic moment of her shaving Molly's head.
12:32What a humiliating, embarrassing moment for the former women's champion, having her head shaved at WrestleMania 20.
12:41Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch.
12:44WrestleMania 35.
12:46The trio competed in the first WrestleMania women's main event.
12:49This is what it's all about, the main event of WrestleMania, three of the top superstars in all of WWE.
12:58Chyna vs. Ivory, WrestleMania 17.
13:01An underappreciated squash match showed how dominant Chyna was.
13:05Chyna enjoying this, and it is over, and Chyna, it is, was it academic?
13:13It's inside!
13:22Before we continue, check out this single from Sound Mojo's Adia, Songs from Iran, reimagining Persian melodies as modern rock,
13:30metal, and pop songs.
13:32Check out the full track and album below.
13:35Come to me and save me from this wretched place.
13:40Come to me and hide me in your sacred space.
13:45Seal me with your grace.
13:53Away from the ring action, this match for night one at 2021's WrestleMania 37 was important for another key reason.
14:01It was the first time two black wrestlers, male or female, had headlined WrestleMania.
14:06That is incredible!
14:09And dumping Banks into the ring!
14:12Bianca promised to show up and show out, and Sasha's gotta be intimidated.
14:16After Belair won the 2021 Royal Rumble, becoming the first black woman to do so, she selected Banks and her
14:23SmackDown Women's Championship.
14:24The footage of Belair holding off tears before the duo went to war, showcasing how much this meant to her,
14:30is one of WrestleMania's most iconic moments.
14:33This is the biggest stage she has ever stepped foot on.
14:35You can see the emotion in both women's faces.
14:38You have to put it in the past.
14:39You forget about it.
14:41Bianca's on the verge of tears right now.
14:43The stars didn't disappoint in the ring.
14:45Perfectly paced, trading close calls, and showcasing their unmatched athleticism, it was impossible to look away.
14:53After a chain of reversals, Belair delivered the KOD to Banks, winning the belt she rightfully deserved.
15:00SmackDown Women's Champion, Bianca Belair!
15:08If you could choose a WWE women's legend and a current star to have a match at WrestleMania, both in
15:14their prime, who would you pick?
15:16Let us know below.
15:17A.
15:18A.
