A Scottish man has taken fast food to the extreme by deep-frying everything from Big Macs to takeaway mashups in a viral series.
Darren Dowling, 29, known as Dazza, filmed the clips in his Glasgow home, testing whether some of the world’s most recognisable fast food items could survive the fryer.
In the video, he drops a range of favourites into hot oil, including: McDonald’s, KFC, Subway, Burger King, TGI Fridays, Greggs and Five Guys meals even wrapping a Subway sandwich inside a Domino’s pizza before frying it.
The idea, he says, started as a random thought with a friend.
The chaotic food experiments have built a cult following online, with fans tuning in to see just how far he’ll push the limits of deep frying.
He said: “Me and my pal were sitting on the couch one day and I said ‘I wonder what would happen if I deep-fried a McDonald’s Big Mac’. He looked at me in disgust.
“Then we went to the shops and got 3L of cooking oil and got started. What a day that was!”
“We filmed over 150 episodes over the years.”
“My favourite thing to deep fry HAS to be the Five Guys hot dog. Oh my! The cheese, bacon, meat, buns all wrapped in glorious batter will make your dreams come true.”
