00:00The Government Service Contracting Program kicked off last Wednesday, but application remains open for those who want to apply, including
00:07UV Express and Jeepney units.
00:10And some are still waiting for approval, expecting significant help to their daily income. Bernard Ferrer has more in the
00:17story.
00:20Rinaldo is patiently waiting for approval of his application for the Service Contracting Program. He has submitted all the required
00:26documents on the LTFRB website.
00:28According to Rinaldo, he only brings home around 150 to 200 pesos from his daily trips from PITX to Divisoria
00:35in Manila nowadays.
00:36His daily income is no longer enough to meet his family's basic needs.
00:41I have a lot of food. My parents are here in the house. That's five peras. Where am I going
00:51to buy food? A day-to-day.
00:56That is why it would usually help Rinaldo if he could start under the Service Contracting Program, especially since his
01:02diesel fuel expenses can reach up to 3,000 pesos.
01:05Palaging tulong na kasi yun ang boundary namin, yun ang kinikita namin, yung pamasada namin, yun lang ang pangkrodo muna
01:17namin.
01:17Meanwhile, UV Express driver Joe will patiently line up at a gasoline station along Commonwealth Avenue to avail of the
01:2310 peso per liter fuel subsidy.
01:25He received a discount of 117.50 centavos from a total of 1,400 pesos for more than 11 liters
01:32of diesel.
01:33Because of this, he only paid 1,282.50 centavos.
01:37It makes it less for his trips from SM4View to VitoCruz.
01:40Joe will admitted that due to the high prices of petroleum products, he can no longer afford to fully fill
01:46his tank.
01:46Dati kumikita ng 1,000, ngayon 500 na lang.
01:50500 na lang.
01:51Yes, yun na po po dyan sa diesel sa sobrang taas.
01:53Oil companies are expected to implement a rollback in fuel prices next week.
01:58Diesel prices are estimated to decrease by 17 to 19 pesos per liter, while gasoline prices may go down by
02:042 to 3 pesos per liter.
02:06Bernard Fredat from the National TV Network for New and Better Philippines.
