00:00Diesel fuel prices fell sharply today, thus resuscitating the hopes of public transport drivers, operators and automobile owners looking for
00:08relief or a big win amidst a streak of losses.
00:12But this sense of delight and relief may be fleeting with surging numbers on the cost per barrel of oil
00:17as a result of the impasse between Iran and the United States and their ongoing ceasefire talks.
00:23Our J.M. Thompson threshes out the numbers in today's discounted costs at the pump.
00:30With another huge drawback in petroleum product prices today, the hope of drivers and motorists has risen that this will
00:37continue until they can recover.
00:39Just like driver Joshua Bailon, he has not been able to send money to his family in the province for
00:44three weeks because even though he continues his trips, his take-home pay is not enough.
00:49That is why due to the consecutive weeks of large drawbacks in diesel, he says this is a big help
00:54to be able to send money again and help his family.
01:11The sentiment of MC taxi rider Michael Foronda is not far off because aside from the consecutive rollbacks helping his
01:18family, he says this is also a huge help to passengers.
01:35The large cat in diesel prices is effective today.
01:38Diesel degrees by up to 24 pesos and 94 cents per liter, while gasoline has 3 pesos and 41 cents
01:45per liter price reduction, while kerosene has 2 pesos price reduction.
01:49The decrease this Tuesday is larger compared to last week because in just two weeks, the price of diesel has
01:56gone down by a total of 45 pesos.
01:58The government is intensifying the implementation of price reduction in gas stations alongside the 10 pesos discount per liter for
02:05public utility vehicle drivers within Metro Manila.
Kikilos kami kagad.
02:29Meanwhile, due to the consecutive rollbacks, Energy Secretary Sharon Garin clarified the policy regarding oil prices that gas stations need
02:37to follow under Executive Order No. 110.
02:48Dapat yung rollback would be equal or more than the 24.94.
03:09So, that's our new rules now.
03:11Energy Secretary Sharon Garin also emphasized that the government is working vigorously to help our fellow citizens.
03:17In fact, the country's oil supply is sufficient and the petroleum products will last for 54 days based on the
03:24latest inventory of the DOE.
03:26The agency is also monitoring oil prices connected to the prices in the international market and is on the lookout
03:33every week for expected rollbacks.
03:41This is not a problem caused by any Filipino.
03:44This is a problem caused by the war in the Middle East.
03:47But we can go through this together.
03:50Sama-sama po ito yung tulog pa.
03:52J.M. Thompson from the National TV Network for a new and better Philippines.
