Kids collect warm “pretties,” tie shining threads where the road bleeds, and wear crowns that itch if they feel sad. Smile-lilies whisper compliments, then root your feet to the ground.
The Trail is “kind.” It gives you what you want to be: lighter, braver, happier. You just trade your weight — your grief, doubt, sorrow. What’s left in your core is small, hard, and hot. The town burns it to keep the giggles bright.
A children’s book written by something that learned “joy” from a dictionary. Happy on the surface, deeply creepy underneath.
Just follow close the steps of hate.
