00:00Dana Brown, I think he should be on the hot seat really just for his job.
00:07I think he also does things that you can't do when you are struggling at his job.
00:16And I don't think it is just injuries here, right?
00:21Like you start to look at it, and I know we have fun with Joe Espada, the captain.
00:27And I don't think, fully honest, I don't think Joe Espada is a great manager.
00:34But this, to me, when I watch what's happening to the Astros right now,
00:38it seems to be more roster configuration than it is from the manager's decisions.
00:46I mean, we're sitting there yesterday, as you said earlier in the show,
00:50he's sitting there in the ninth inning trying to figure out who, right,
00:54wait, how the hell am I going to get out of this?
00:57How the hell am I going to get out of this?
00:59King, the Los Santos, we go, like, the rotation, I mean, even if they were all healthy,
01:06like the fact that Mike Burroughs is your two for a team that is looking to compete,
01:11like this is, there was, I think, I don't think he has done a great job
01:15to put together the roster.
01:16And then when you look at what he's done, that he's done recently,
01:21Hunter Brown going to the I.L. and then him, you know, publicly questioning if he is,
01:28well, I don't know, man, I didn't like the way he, as he said it, quote,
01:32I thought it was weird the way that he got himself ready in spring training,
01:37gunning it and going maximum velocity so early.
01:40And then, obviously, you know, Hunter Brown coming back and saying I hadn't done
01:44anything different than I had the previous seasons.
01:46I just think, boy, Dana Brown, I've about reached my whole end with Dana Brown.
01:53I just, I think he's in over his head.
01:55I think he's delusional about, like, what he can say and how that'll go over.
02:03I just, yeah, I'm about over that.
02:05Yeah, look, Dana operates like he's got a bunch of World Series under his belt
02:09and he's got, like, he's untouchable from that perspective.
02:14I don't know, man.
02:15I just, I think you're still, you're walking on thin ice with where the organization is right now.
02:20I'm not in line with some folks who think this is some kind of rebuild
02:24or tear down or anything like that.
02:26But Dana Brown has not been great.
02:29Whether you think now it's roster construct or it's injuries or whatever you think it is,
02:34Dana Brown has not been great.
02:37And, you know, I don't know how, I don't know how guys, you know, like Jim Crane,
02:42I don't know how Jim Crane doesn't at least realize that Dana Brown and the manager,
02:46whoever the manager is with the Astros at the time,
02:48seems to be on different pages publicly in the media more times than not.
02:53That can't be something that as an owner you look up and go, yeah, that's healthy.
02:57And then you look at this situation with Hunter Brown.
03:01I just don't understand the end game.
03:03I don't need to agree with it, but I don't understand the end game.
03:05I don't understand the method to the madness here.
03:07What is the point?
03:08You've got a young player that is your ace right now that you would love to get a deal done
03:14with him.
03:14That's not on my, I mean, we've heard you say that, that you'd love to get a deal done with
03:17him.
03:20And, you know, you would think that you would be striving to stay in good graces with this guy,
03:25at least publicly, and not be ultimately blaming in a moment where the organization is struggling mightily,
03:33the team's struggling mightily.
03:34It's almost like, you know, in this moment you step out there and say, yeah,
03:38we would have Hunter Brown if his ass wouldn't have been throwing 98 miles an hour in spring training week
03:44one.
03:45I just don't understand the end game.
03:46Why would you want to get sideways with the best player that you have on the team,
03:50the most important guy as it pertains to getting under contract, you know, moving forward?
03:57I don't know why you would publicly make statements like this that would even make Hunter Brown feel like he
04:04needs to respond in any way, shape, or form.
04:06Should not have been brought to him.
04:08Should not have been brought to him.
04:10But this isn't the first, like, Dana, we, like, I start to, Tyler, put it on him.
04:16He gets sideways with Dusty.
04:19They seem like they're not on the same page.
04:21Like, they say different things when they speak to the media.
04:23He's done it with Joe Espada.
04:25They seem like they're on different pages and they haven't spoken to each other.
04:29Like, it's, the key thing there that keeps popping up is you.
04:35You're doing it like, like, did you talk to Hunter about that first?
04:39Or was that the first time when that was brought to Hunter that he heard it?
04:42You thought it was weird.
04:44And all we hear is you talk about, boy, we got depth in this rotation.
04:48Okay.
04:50This bullpen, baby, this bullpen we put together, that's more than Josh Hader.
04:56You ain't got nobody to get to Josh Hader.
04:59Hmm.
05:01I just, like, I just, I think what he is doing from a roster perspective, and I, and I, and
05:08I would even say to myself, like, maybe Jim Crane is putting a budget that is stopping him from doing
05:13a few things.
05:15But, bro, it ain't, it ain't that, it ain't, you, you could, you had a, I think they had a
05:23better, they had more resources than to come in there and say, man, Mike Burrell's going to be our two
05:28this year.
05:29I think they had more resources.
05:30You go look at, like, I, I, I, I, I, Roflo said with Franbury, you look at Franbury's number, Franbury's
05:35had four starts, three of them he's allowed one run or less.
05:37These strows ain't loyal.
05:39Did you get another quality start last night?
05:40Yes.
05:41He's got three?
05:42He, he, he, I think he went seven in one run, and the one run was scored on a fielder's
05:48choice.
05:48Hmm.
05:50The Royals.
05:52Absolutely dominated.
05:54Was it your shortstop?
05:56Did he score finally?
05:57No, he didn't.
05:58He got on.
05:59Got on again?
06:00Yeah.
06:00That number's going up.
06:01Uh-huh.
06:03Tyler, Bobby Witt Jr.
06:04Been on base 31 times this year.
06:08It's pretty good at baseball.
06:09He scored once.
06:11Oh.
06:12He bet second.
06:13He's been on base.
06:14He leaves the league in stolen bases.
06:16He's been on base 31 times.
06:17He scored once.
06:19I need to wear them clean ass City Connect uniforms more.
06:22Maybe that'll help.
