00:00I think it was a marvellous moment when so many people turned out.
00:05I couldn't believe it walking into the cathedral, how many people from the general public were there.
00:11And it just shows you how loved John was.
00:14We're going to miss him dearly.
00:16A great commentator, but a good friend to us all, and he made you feel very special.
00:22We all thought we were friends with John, because he had a great heart, and he was funny.
00:28He was funny, sometimes cantankerous, but we loved him for that.
00:32But all in all, he was part of the snooker furniture.
00:36He was part of snooker's history, and a wonderful commentator.
00:39And he got the best out of every match.
00:42Looking back at my own memories of commentating in the box with him,
00:46when you saw, as Stephen Hendry said in the memorial service,
00:49when you looked at the rotor and saw you were commentating with John,
00:53you were delighted, because you knew it was going to be a fun day, and it was going to be
00:57a good day.
00:57I have my own memories of John, but I think it was the fact that after I'd lost to Dennis
01:04Taylor in the final 85,
01:07I was crying my eyes out in the dressing room,
01:10and the one person who knocked on the door to commiserate with me was John Virgo.
01:15He had a big heart.
