SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS. – Un joven identificado como José Miguel García negó categóricamente las acusaciones de violencia doméstica interpuestas por su pareja sentimental, tras ser detenido por agentes de la Policía Nacional.  Al ser abordado por la prensa mientras era conducido por las autoridades, García aseguró que nunca ha golpeado a su mujer y que las acusaciones en su contra son "mentiras" motivadas por un presunto deseo de hacerle daño.  "Eso es mentira, yo soy inocente. Ella lo que quiere es hacerme un daño", expresó el detenido ante las cámaras, alegando además que fue él quien recibió agresiones físicas la noche anterior.  El testimonio de la denunciante  Por su parte, la pareja de García, quien presenta una visible lesión en su ojo izquierdo, reafirmó su denuncia ante las autoridades. La mujer explicó que mantienen una relación de cinco años y que decidió buscar ayuda debido a las constantes amenazas de muerte.  "No es que no lo quiera, somos una pareja de cinco años, pero no puedo esperar a que me maten", declaró la joven. Asimismo, acusó a los padres del detenido de ser "apañadores" de la conducta violenta de su hijo, asegurando que el sector de Mamá Tingó es testigo de la situación que atraviesa.  Intervención policial  El joven fue trasladado a la Dirección Regional Noreste de la Policía Nacional para los fines correspondientes. Se espera que en las próximas horas sea puesto a disposición del Ministerio Público para que se determine su situación legal bajo los cargos de violencia de género.
