01:12e che è la differenza
01:17ok ma ricorda qui tieni fermi i piedi amico mio
01:22grazie
01:59so forth, e poi Sugar Pop brought in the 70s disco era, trendy dances, and so we
02:09have to make sure that by the time he got to us, is that he had context, like when
02:16we do dances, it's not too foreign on his body when he picks it up, if that makes
02:21sense, because you know, I don't want to say he was born in the 90s, so you know, he
02:25missed all that stuff that we grew up on, you know what I mean, Mashed Potato, the
02:32James Brown, although we weren't around in that era, but you know, and that was
02:37another thing too, that James Brown was a big influence on Michael Jackson, right, so
02:43we have to make sure we infuse some of the godfather of soul, you know, into the
02:48whole thing, and anyways, long story short, that's what we did, that was our training.
02:58Go get up and dance, baby.
03:00Yeah, I mean, it's gonna be nostalgic for some, I think for a younger generation, I think
03:05it's gonna be more of a wild moment, and I did not know this guy did all this, and accomplished
03:15all that within this span of time, and I just feel like, you know, like the rest of the world
03:20is gonna feel the same thing, and just celebrate what this man did, you know, on another level,
03:28man, it's like, you know, from his, not only his iconic performances, and his music, but also
03:34his length report work too as well, that's right, you know, you're about to see it all, and it's
03:39all mashed in, we've been to this beautiful film, and we just feel very lucky to share with everybody.
03:46Quando vuoi, siamo pronti, Michael.
03:54Sa cosa voglio?
03:57Essere la star più grande al mondo.
03:59He's a great artist, the world needs some love right now, and that's what Michael was about.
04:04Dobbiamo capitalizzare il successo di Michael, perché è la famiglia Jackson, il brand, la nostra
04:11Coca-Cola. Dobbiamo iniziare a vendere, perciò metto su un tour internazionale. Questo è solo l'inizio.
04:20Ci devo pensare. Ti ho già detto cosa pensare.
04:24What attracted me most was was Graham King and Antoine Fuqua, because they were they had such a
04:30perspective on the material, and you know, obviously there have been other films about Michael
04:35Jackson, but this one felt different, it felt intimate, it felt also that perhaps it was a
04:40part of, it just had a more spiritual element to it. And then I did some research on Jafar,
04:52and I was like, oh my gosh, she's perfect. And so that's just kind of been the motivation,
04:58but also to play a woman whose love and commitment and care for her children is so important to me.
05:17I think you get a peek behind the icon, you get to experience the music, those concert scenes are
05:25incredible, that's why I say it has to be experienced on the biggest screen possible, but in in between
05:29moments you get to learn more about the man himself, and like his heart, and his wants,
05:33needs, desires, and things like that.
05:40I'm a mother myself, and I understand that love, I know that love so much, it's so heavy,
05:47it's so deep, it's relentless, and that's who I think Katherine Jackson is, she's a relentless leader
05:56leader of her children, of her family, her commitment, her tenacity, her strength,
06:04her strength is quiet, but her strength is rooted in kindness and love, and so to play a woman
06:11described as such is really an honor and a blessing for me.
06:29I remember the very first time when I had a call, you know, with Graham King, the producer,
06:35he spoke to me about it, it was so early on, it was a lot to take in, you know,
06:42I'd never acted before,
06:43I'd never wanted to act, so I had a lot of, you know, I was in conflict with it, because
06:51I wasn't
06:52sure if I can really do it or not, so then I got with an acting coach, and I really
06:56want to learn
06:57what is acting, you know, and start there before trying to embody Michael, so I did that for about
07:02a year, and then I started to really, you know, study Michael's videos, his lyrics, everything about him,
07:08and that's when I started to embody him.
07:13I think music can change the world.
07:17He earned it, although he's Michael's nephew, but he earned it, he spent two or three years
07:23studying and dancing without even having to die.
07:26He learned that, so yeah, he earned it.
07:29Yeah.
07:33Diffondere amore, gioia, e pace.
07:40Ecco cosa voglio che provi il mondo.
07:43I collected a large archival of footage that I gathered from YouTube, many other websites of all the dancing,
07:52and even just off camera, he didn't realize he was on camera, like just in a conversational setting,
07:58and I used that to really immerse myself and dissect everything in that way, and then just allowed
08:04that to kind of channel through me. But there's very few memories that I have that I cherish truly,
08:11and all of them were when I was very young. One of my favorites is when I first saw him
08:14on stage
08:16performing in New York for the first time, which was the best experience for me.
08:24Good people know good people. And I think Michael was sending out a message of love.
08:31That's right.
08:32That's right.
08:32And I believe people know that.
08:35Magia.
