00:01My name is Josh Partridge from The Examiner and I am here at The Racket Collective in Launceston.
00:07Opening on Saturday, April 18th with some special deals here.
00:10We have two paddle courts and three pickleball courts.
00:13The paddle courts are the first in Tasmania.
00:16So it's been going off all around the world, so let's make sure we make it a hit here in
00:19Launceston.
00:20My partner, brother and I all grew up playing tennis, so very familiar with racket sports.
00:26And my brother Nick, who's living in Sydney at the moment, floated the idea to Charlie and I
00:31that Tassie's kind of missing a big opportunity to have a pickleball and paddleball club
00:37because it is popping off around the world.
00:41Paddle's huge in Europe. Pickle's huge in America.
00:43And it's really taking off around Australia as well.
00:46A couple of weeks later we went on a trip to Vietnam and everywhere we went there was pickleball.
00:51You walk down the street, people will be watching videos of pickleball.
00:55They'd be carrying rackets around.
00:57Everywhere we stayed there was pickleball clubs, so we'd go and play.
01:01And as soon as we got back we were like, yep, this is it, let's bring it to Tassie.
01:07Got my bat and my ball and now I'm going to take on this bloke.
01:12Aww...
01:12It is going to take tight it.
01:18It is if you can up.
01:20Oh!
01:23Oh!
01:25OH!
01:27OH!
01:27Oh yeah!
