00:00I have no book goals, I have no reading goals for 2026, I don't even have
00:04never set a reading goal, or almost.
00:07I don't use any kind of app to track my readings, having goals is difficult for me because they create
00:12really a lot of anxiety.
00:14I had the feeling that reading was becoming a performance and so if at the end of the year I didn't have
00:19if those goals were achieved, what would have happened?
00:22Would I have felt bad, at fault? So I thought about feeling uncomfortable while reading and that was absolutely not it.
00:28that I wanted.
00:29Because reading is a passion, it's not my job and I absolutely didn't want it to be tainted by feelings.
00:35negative, so then I realized it wasn't for me.
00:37But there is one thing that I have been taking into consideration, at least since the beginning of this year, and that is the number of
00:43authors I read.
00:44The only goal I have in fact is to read more female authors than male authors and for the moment I do it.
00:49I'm complying.
00:50Another metric that interests me is also the geographical area, so I try to range, not to concentrate only in
00:56a single area, but explore the world a bit.
00:59For me, these two metrics work very well because they are completely unrelated to the number of books I read.
01:04If I read ten books in a year, the important thing is that there are more female authors, including ten books,
01:08and that they are not concentrated in a single area of the world.
01:10I still wanted to try using apps to track these two goals, but honestly, I don't feel like it.
01:17It's just not in my nature to sit there and do this thing on a consistent, scheduled basis.
01:22I do everything very extensible and in this case GGBT was very efficient.
01:27I'm curious to know what you think about reading goals, if you need these goals, if they are for you
01:33It matters, or not, you're more like me.
01:36and maybe what you're interested in tracking, also because I might have some interesting ideas.
