*Wheeler Dealers: Dream Car* is a spin-off of the Wheeler Dealers franchise that focuses on helping everyday people trade their way up to their ideal vehicle. Instead of restoring cars for profit alone, each episode follows a personal journey, where the team starts with the participant’s current car and gradually upgrades through a series of smart buys, repairs, and sales.

The show is led by Mike Brewer, an expert in sourcing and negotiating deals, and Marc Priestley (also known as “Elvis”), a former McLaren Racing mechanic who handles the technical work and improvements.

Season 1 establishes the format with a mix of nostalgic and ambitious goals, from classic cars like a Land Rover Series IIa and Ford Escort Mk2 to high-value dreams such as a DeLorean DMC-12 and a Nissan Skyline.

Season 2 builds on this with bigger stakes and more emotional stories, including practical goals like an Audi Q7 for a growing family, lifestyle vehicles such as a Volkswagen Campervan, and dream performance cars like a Caterham Seven.

Overall, the series blends car expertise with personal storytelling, showing how smart decisions and mechanical skill can turn an ordinary car into someone’s dream vehicle.

00:26and this is my starting point that's brilliant
00:28and whatever cash they can spare
00:31but she's given us this car on a grand
00:33through a series of car trades
00:35got a deal
00:36well done yeah
00:37and money making deals
00:38that's the car let's go in a bid
00:40i'll trade up until i've got enough money to buy the car they've always wanted
00:44you look happy
00:45oh yes
00:46i'll draw on years of experience and share my tricks of the trade
00:51this car has already increased in value just by moving it geographically
00:55helping me in the workshop is my mate elvis an ex formula one mechanic
01:01such a good feeling
01:02working together the pressure's on for us to deliver the dream car
01:07thank you so much
01:09this might even change my life
01:12this time we get into a tight spot
01:15stop stop stop
01:16shut the doors i'll put a bit of string around the back
01:18on a mission to deliver an iconic japanese sports car to photographer harlem
01:22i don't often say this but that seems impossible
01:25we risk it all on a once in a lifetime trade
01:28i've never bought eight motorbikes before but we just have
01:31to deliver a fast and furious dream car
01:34this is my favourite car in the whole world
01:50i'm excited today because i'm on my way to an old airfield in the heart for sure to go meet
01:54a guy called harlem
01:55he is single-mindedly 100% obsessed and he has been his whole life in one particular japanese sports car
02:04it's the nissan skyline who can blame him it's an amazing car he's also an aspiring motorsports photographer
02:11so that means i'm off to the racetrack
02:21i've always been into cars since i was a little kid
02:24i grew up with my dad taking me to car shows and racetracks
02:30my dream car is the nissan skyline it's got one of the greatest engines ever made
02:35it had amazing racing pedigree when it came out and it's something that's just always spoke to me with its
02:41history
02:45one of the most iconic japanese sports cars of all time
02:49the high performance coupe mixes samurai sharp styling
02:53with a stunning straight six engine this 1990s r33 gtr is a genuine four-seater with a 0-60 of
03:025.3 seconds
03:03the star of movies and video games its four round rear lights are unforgettable
03:12you must be harlan
03:14oh hello mate how are you
03:16good to see you sorry to disturb you while you're working look at that that is whoa
03:23that's fantastic so tell us about your love of cars where's it come from
03:28well my dad's mechanic so from day one um growing up i was always around tuna cars that sort of
03:35thing
03:35going to the racetrack with my dad so straight out of school went to work quite a number of years
03:40in the
03:42dream car but one day i kind of realized that i wanted to do a little bit more with my
03:47life and i
03:48set myself back to university i've rinsed all my savings you have okay well that makes me even more
03:53determined now to to get the car that you want which is a nissan skyline why one of them it
03:58was
03:58always the hero car in the films it was always the best car in the games it's a proper race
04:03car
04:03designed for the road i know exactly why you would fall in love with one but to get there i
04:08need a good
04:09starting point so have you got something tasty for me to start training with it's not quite like
04:13what's going around here but i'll come and show you it's just a car park i really want to do
04:17the
04:18best i can for him and knowing harlem he's a sports car fan so he's gonna have something tasty
04:22for me to get going with these are all nice and they in this car park these are good lovely
04:29so is
04:30it this nice little porsche that looks all right cracking car uh it's that one
04:38no don't tell me it's the mx5 seriously yeah yeah um what's what's the matter well i mean it's just
04:43a an old mx5 it's a mark one in it okay well let's have a look what we got okay
04:49that's good and it's
04:50got a detachable hard top that's got some value to it yeah it's a unos as well so it's a
04:55unos
04:55import yeah that's street cred that is is it really yeah okay um paint works a bit flat
05:01and it's got some trick bits on it i'll see you put a boot spoiler on it and different wheels
05:06on
05:06it uh wooden steering wheel well if i've got to work with that what else can you throw in
05:11you've got a few grand you can give me to get me started i've got a couple hundred quid that
05:15i've
05:15been saving for a rainy day well as in like 200 pounds if i actually pulled this off i'd be
05:22wearing
05:22a cape and my underwear will be on the outside of my trousers i will be a superhero there's master
05:28mx5s
05:29and then there's harlan's masda mx5 and he wants me to turn that into a skyline come on i mean
05:35seriously this is going to be a tough one i'm going to do it for you i'm going to take
05:39this away
05:39and i'm going to get you your nissan skyline you are the master i do believe in you mate i
05:43do
05:43well thank you thank you i like your confidence in me
05:51how can i shift this quick well it could make a good track day car it's already got a rollover
05:57hoop
05:57alloys and a spoiler i could sell it faster if i target a motorsport look and feel and go with
06:03a
06:03strong silver and black color scheme i love the fact that it's got the detachable hard top
06:07i think it's the wrong color being in red i think if we was to paint it black it would
06:12help the car
06:14that way we'd end up with a car that wouldn't look too bad and i reckon we can get it
06:18down the road
06:19but a decent skyline could be eight grand and this mazda is worth around 400 pounds
06:25i need to come up with some very clever trades
06:32what is that well i mean i know what it is but what's it doing here
06:37yes um it's not the best i could bring you to be honest with you i apologize
06:42i may have said something that we're going to regret because i promised that we're going to turn this
06:49into a nissan skyline
06:52what are you serious i mean i'm i don't often say this but that seems impossible
06:58look the guy is lovely he's called harlan he's a mature student he's gone back into higher education
07:06every single penny he'd save for his dream car and nissan skyline he's gone and invested that money
07:11in himself tell me there's a massive bundle of cash that comes along with this there is some cash
07:16to come with it i've got 200 pounds
07:23my goodness there's enough to change the steering wheel and you could paint this roof black actually
07:29because being in red it just doesn't suit the car hey i don't even know where to start i mean
07:36i know i was thinking the only way we're ever going to turn this into a nissan skyline is if
07:42me and you dumped in three grand of our own money of our personal cash our personal cash three grand
07:50yeah once i get trade in and i earn enough money i will give us back our three grand you
07:55won't lose
07:56the money just treat it like a loan so i can get trade in i mean look of course i
08:01trust you
08:02but you better get that money back i will i promise all right let's get cracking
08:07so elvis is on board with this short-term loan and i've got an idea for the track day mazda
08:12but even if we can sell it it's just going to be for hundreds and we're going to need thousands
08:16for a nissan skyline so i need a clever plan to get ahead with the next trade
08:26this old wooden steering wheel doesn't suit our track day style i spent 60 pounds on a black
08:33motorsport inspired upgrade trimmed in alcantara for extra grip in the corners
08:37so i'm going to change this steering wheel and the first thing i'm going to do is having
08:43taken the horn button out i can now get access to the central nut that's in here
08:49and i'm going to loosen that off but not completely off because when i start to pull
08:53this steering wheel off the splines quite often they're pretty well stuck and you've got to give
08:59them a good yank and eventually at some point it just dislodges and comes off and i have hit
09:03myself in the face with these before so now i never take the nut completely off until it's been
09:08dislodged on the splines so give it a good wiggle a bit of tapping
09:14there we go save myself a broken nose
09:21so i've gone for a slightly motorsport inspired steering wheel here because everything else around
09:27this car is is pretty much in that vein the yellow stripe here on the top of the steering wheel
09:31is
09:31just so that if you are racing this thing around a track and you've got handfuls of opposite lock
09:36you've got a very quick visual reference as to where the top dead center of your steering wheel is
09:40halfway through a corner it's quite a useful thing to have
09:46all right dave and there we go that's that job done
09:56colour coding the details of this car will give it a stronger look in any ad
10:00so the roof's going black to match the wheels and spoiler
10:05the secret good paint works always all about the preparation so i'm just keying up the surface
10:10with a little bit of rubbing compound and a bit of abrasive cloth just to give it a kind of
10:16roughed
10:16up surface for the paint to key to i'm keeping the spend small these rattle cans of satin paint are
10:23just ten pounds each
10:28the trick is to not go over the same bit too much otherwise it builds up and you get run
10:33so it's a case of doing lots of light coats
10:43well it's already looking loads better
10:47next have we done enough to find this car a buyer
10:51interested
10:52and when i squeeze into a tiny italian classic
10:56whoa look at this
10:57i discover that size really does matter
11:02stop stop stop i might need to borrow some tools boys
11:06our mission for harlan is to turn a tired old mazda of 200 pounds into one of the most iconic
11:12japanese sports cars ever made
11:14my dream car is the nissan skyline
11:16but with over 400 000 early mx5s built the second air market is flooded with cheap options
11:24i advertised it on a website for track day fans and kathy gave me a call
11:29this is the little car
11:30she's come down to see it with her friend amy
11:37it doesn't strike me as the kind of car that you would buy though kathy is it for you
11:41no we're actually looking at it for a friend's son
11:44are you
11:45yeah
11:45first car
11:46uh first car track car type thing
11:48perfect
11:49i mean what a great little thing to come play on the track with
11:51you like it do you amy
11:53yeah i love it
11:53yeah
11:54advertised it for 500 pounds
11:57interested
11:57um i was thinking more of the region of about 350
12:02i can't let it go for 350
12:04let's be nice shall we
12:06i'll let it go for 400 pounds
12:09yeah i could go to four
12:10just bought yourself a nice car
12:11well done you amy
12:12top job
12:15i'm pleased to get that sound but there's still a tiny amount to trade up from
12:19i need to find a vehicle i can buy with our three grand add value and then sell on for
12:24a profit
12:28the biggest profits are often in bold ideas so i always keep my eyes and ears open for new trends
12:34i'm on my way to look at an unusual vehicle
12:38last week i was in london when i got myself a coffee from one of these little coffee vans
12:43they look like a tuck tuck
12:44so it got me thinking about buying one
12:56hello there you must be den
12:57hello there
12:58how are you i'm mike
12:59how are you
12:59i'm all right very nice to meet you
13:01thank you
13:01carl what a great place to come and visit
13:03we've got more apes than anyone in england
13:05have you really
13:06this one's really caught my eye
13:08that little apes there that is beautiful
13:10we've just finished restoring that
13:11we found that in a french bakery
13:13no way it's an absolute wreck yeah and we've restored it completely so
13:17and what would that sell for
13:18uh around about 15 000
13:20what it's fully restored
13:2315 grand god and what about these something like this how much do these run at
13:27well these are our basic van they start at 7 000 pounds
13:31you're kidding
13:31no i'm not kidding
13:32piaggio have built everything from trains to aircraft
13:36their famous free wheelers have been in continuous production since 1948
13:41they're powered by 436 cc diesel or 125 cc petrol engine
13:46then makes a good living out of converting them into characterful promotional vehicles
13:51well i haven't got 15 grand to spend and i haven't got 7 grand to spend i'm after something
13:56just a little bit cheaper have you got anything at all
13:58i've got something a little bit different it's not what we normally do now
14:01it's called the apes 50
14:03so where is it then show us this little uh this little app hey
14:07it's behind you
14:09oh my god seriously
14:11how have you got a vehicle down the side of your building that's how small that is
14:15they're designed for the really narrow streets of italy
14:18it's in brown
14:19it's tuscan brown
14:21there's a big door missing here
14:22the door's inside the hole
14:24how does it open up then
14:25there's a latch here so it's pretty straightforward
14:27yeah
14:28and then this pops up
14:30all right
14:30on a gas strike
14:31whoa
14:31well that's all right isn't it that's a little bit of an improvement
14:34copper worktop
14:35nice
14:37eight bottle wine rack
14:38i like that
14:39and this crate here is for uh your bar snacks
14:41yeah lovely
14:42do you want to do you want to drive it
14:44can i
14:44yeah certainly
14:51ha ha ha
14:53like nothing else
14:53i've ever driven
15:03the steering it turns
15:04well look it turns like this
15:06turns on the sixpence
15:09that is wicked actually
15:10it turns round at its own length
15:12and i gather it does that because of
15:14what then said about those narrow
15:17italian streets
15:21this little 50cc
15:23ape is the smallest
15:24tuck tuck piaggio made
15:26it's already been converted
15:28into a wine bar
15:29but its basic layout
15:30could work for any business
15:32i think there could be a profit in it
15:33if i can get it
15:34for the right price
15:41so is it worth me buying
15:44it's a tough one
15:45but i reckon
15:46it could be worth a couple of grand
15:48you know
16:02how was it
16:03yeah i mean it's uh
16:05it's an experience isn't it
16:07i mean they're great fun little things to have
16:08but just need so much work and attention
16:11but i'll give you two grand for it
16:13two and a half thousand
16:14come and then
16:15have a deal with me
16:17two grand
16:18two grand
16:19that's all it's worth
16:20because it just
16:21i mean look i can see what you sell
16:23you sell all this nice stuff
16:24and it doesn't fit with your business does it
16:25i'm using a technique called mirroring
16:28i'm saying back to them
16:29what he already told me before
16:31reinforcing the idea
16:32that this ape isn't right for his business
16:34so he should sell it to me
16:36i'll give you two grand
16:37i'll take it away right now
16:38come and then
16:42top man
16:43well done then
16:47right then boys
16:48gently there she goes
16:50well a nappe
16:50isn't the biggest vehicle in the world
16:52but i did get the biggest fan
16:53i could possibly find
16:55knowing full well
16:56that it would fit into the back comfortably
16:59stop stop stop
17:01i just didn't account for a roof rack
17:05shut the doors
17:06i'll put a bit of string around the back
17:09i might need to borrow some tools boys
17:17that's it
17:18it's off
17:22yes
17:26hallelujah
17:31this tut tut has potential
17:36but at the moment the tuscan brown paint is letting it down
17:40i need a plan for a good value transformation
17:43on the journey back i've been thinking about what to do with a little ape
17:47what i need is something that's quick fast cheap and effective
17:50because the paint work on the thing is quite tatty
17:53one of the new processes that's out there on the market is this plastic spray paint
17:58it's good
17:59it comes in loads of different retro colours
18:01it's cheap
18:16what's this
18:17what's this
18:17this is what i bought you
18:19it's brand new what am i supposed to do with that
18:21i have bought you a van but not this one
18:23what i've bought you is
18:27this man
18:28that's a tuk-tuk mike
18:29it's lovely
18:30have a look
18:31yeah what do you think huh
18:33look it looks like it's been sat under a tree for 20 years
18:35i think it's been parked outside somebody's business for the past 20 years
18:38selling drinks out the back of it
18:40well and that's what we want to make out of it
18:42some kind of business
18:43oh i think so
18:44yeah i think we keep it broad
18:45keep it open
18:46well okay i mean i like that idea
18:48but look at the state of it
18:49it's not in the best condition
18:51that to me screams out a lot of work
18:53well there's this new process out there
18:55it's called plastic coating
18:57yeah which i love the sound of
18:58i've heard of that stuff
18:59it does sound great
19:00so i like that idea
19:01what about the colour
19:02what do you think
19:03i think the best thing to do with this
19:04is to do it in a nice contemporary colour
19:06and today that's going to be grey
19:08it's going to look amazing when it's done
19:10it will do
19:11i can already see actually
19:12you know sitting at a festival
19:13or some kind of event
19:14i think it will look great
19:15so i like it
19:16well i wasn't expecting that
19:18a tuk-tuk
19:19i'm really on board though with mike's idea
19:21get it looking as good as we can
19:22as fast as we can
19:23keep the market broad
19:25and offer it for sale as a backdrop for a business
19:30well i always like to get out of the workshop
19:32and to learn about something new
19:34and today i'm on my way down to see exactly how this plaster coating process works
19:38the tuk-tuk left yesterday ahead of me
19:41so the preparation is now well underway
19:46plastic coating's a pretty new idea
19:48and the owner sam is one of the first to offer the service nearby
19:51he's treated his own car
19:52which is a fetching shade of minty green
19:56sam
19:57hey
19:57how you doing mate
19:58elvis
19:58just broken the phone
19:59yeah good thanks jeff
20:00this is it i guess is it
20:01yeah this is it
20:02this is the plaster coating
20:03you can actually see it
20:04it looks different
20:05and even feel it's a little bit different
20:07i mean what exactly is it
20:08it is like rubber based
20:10um
20:11it will come out of a spray gun
20:13you don't need to do as much prep work
20:14as long as the body work
20:15and the actual car itself is
20:17is clean
20:18um
20:18you can pretty much just paint it straight on
20:20you know
20:20once you get bored of it
20:22you peel it off
20:22you peel it off
20:23literally you can just peel it straight off
20:25that's amazing
20:25you just rub the edge like so
20:27and then you just
20:28you just literally pick it through here like this
20:30wow
20:30and it just comes all the way off
20:31i mean what about cost
20:32for a traditional respray
20:33you would be looking around about
20:351500 pound for the tuk-tuk
20:36okay
20:36um
20:37we've agreed a price for the tuk-tuk
20:39700 pound for what we're doing
20:40so
20:41bargain
20:42yeah i think so
20:47sam's primered the tuk-tuk in light grey
20:49the top coat mike chose is a darker shade of grey
20:52and it's the current Envo colour
20:56the whole process takes a few hours
20:59yeah it's looking really good
21:01if it was a respray
21:03it would take around three times as long
21:04and cost at least double
21:06sam will drop it back at the workshop tomorrow
21:17the tuk-tuk's back the following morning
21:19and it's quite a sight
21:21what a transformation
21:23sam's done a great job with this
21:24and i think this fresh plastic coat over the top
21:27has taken years off it
21:31we could double our money on this if we get the pitch right
21:33mike's aiming to maximise the cute factor
21:36so he's bought some white wall tyres
21:37for 40 pounds each these give a great period look
21:45i had this red ape decal made up at a local vinyl suppliers for a tenner
21:50so far this tuk-tuk owes us 2,850 pounds
21:54it's lovely
21:55i give the rear a polish
21:58so i want to make it look good
21:59and i'm done
22:03is that a little tuk-tuk?
22:05really?
22:06almost unrecognisable
22:07seriously
22:07incredible
22:08oh look how much work you've done in the back
22:10i can already imagine someone selling orange juice flowers
22:13whatever they want out of that
22:14i can't wait to get pictures of this and get it out there on the internet
22:17yeah yeah okay agree
22:20i've written an ad emphasising its broad appeal
22:23and targeted the small business world
22:25by posting on websites catering to entrepreneurs
22:32next i struggle to get elvis on board
22:34as i target the grey pound
22:36isn't that cool
22:39it's old
22:41and we tried to seal the deal on a batch of two wheelers
22:46absolutely wicked yeah
22:50we've updated a tired old three wheeler
22:53is that a little tuk-tuk?
22:55so we can make Harland's dream of a skyline come true
22:59it was always the hero car in the films
23:01it was always the best car in the games
23:03i've been sweating on a deal
23:05and i've just had some news
23:08i've just had den on the phone
23:09the guy we got the tuk-tuk off
23:11oh yeah
23:11he said he's got a customer who wants one in exactly our spec
23:14no way
23:15he says he can return us four grand
23:19uh oh i don't know
23:20what do you reckon i was expecting more than that
23:22you don't think we should hang on
23:23well we could hang on
23:24but it could sit around for a while
23:26or we could just take the money and run
23:28all right well i suppose it does
23:30it does get us going doesn't it
23:31yeah
23:32all right let's do it
23:33so you're making a nice cup of tea
23:34yeah
23:35we can afford to have some cake now as well
23:39i could pull our loan out now
23:41but i'm gonna leave it in for as long as i can
23:44to build the biggest possible profit
23:46and next i'm looking at a deal
23:48which couldn't be more different to the tuk-tuk
23:50a big old classic rover
23:55i've been in contact with a guy called chris
23:58he's selling a rare rover for four grand
24:01chris happens to have an old 1956 rover p4
24:07a classic british car
24:09chris did mention there's a brake issue which he doesn't have time to fix
24:13music to my ears
24:15as i can drive a hard bargain when a car is a fault
24:18and if it's a straightforward fix we can add real value
24:24that looks brilliant doesn't it sat there
24:29nice
24:35aha
24:35hi mike
24:37you must be chris
24:38i am
24:38chris very nice to meet you
24:40nice to meet you too
24:41chris this is lovely turning up here with this period property
24:44and this old 75 part that's under the carriage
24:47so what can you tell me about it
24:48it's 1956 rover 75
24:502.2 engine
24:52very very nice car
24:54can i have a look under the bonnet
24:56please do
24:56lift up that vikings head
24:58it's brilliant that isn't it
25:00it looks fantastic doesn't it
25:02inner wings are really nice and solid
25:04a lot of it is period and original
25:07it really is
25:08they call it a rover 75
25:10because they said it was like 75 horsepower
25:12but most people say they've got 80 horsepower
25:15yeah reading the paperwork it looks like 80 brake horse
25:18what's it like inside
25:19yeah nice inside
25:21wonderful
25:22look at that lever in syria
25:24it's like a gentleman's club isn't it
25:25period dashboard
25:26it's so charming
25:28do you mind if i start her up
25:29no help yourself
25:33wow chris
25:34beautiful
25:35okay so when you say the brakes how bad are they
25:38they're really just one took apart
25:39cleaned and put back together
25:41is it safe for me to drive
25:42yeah it'll be fine for you to drive
25:44but just please be careful with the brakes
25:46right okay
25:46so can i take it for a test drive
25:48feel free
25:48wonderful
26:05oh and brake
26:18utterly charming i mean just charming i love it i absolutely love it
26:25as for the brakes well the brakes when i apply them
26:29like now we're still going we're still going we're still going and we're still going
26:35with around 350 rovers 75s left in the uk they're rare and sought after
26:41i want this one and i'm using the brake issue as a negotiating tool
26:46i reckon if i can get the car for around four grand
26:49there could be a nice decent profit in it
27:01so how did you get on i loved it um other than the fact yeah the brakes need a dressing
27:06but wonderful what a charming car
27:08would you take three and a half grand for it
27:11it needs to be a bit more than that what about 39
27:13if you make it 38 you got yourself a deal
27:16we'll have a deal
27:16lovely thank you very much chris i'm delighted with that
27:19brilliant
27:23i know the drum brake system on this car needs regular maintenance and adjustment
27:27so i'm betting on that being the problem
27:29the rest of the car is mint and i bought it under market price
27:33so i reckon once it's fixed it might be worth over five grand
27:37all right mate look what i've got for you
27:45what is that
27:46that my son is a 1956 rover p4 or rover 75 isn't that cool
27:54uh it's old
27:56of course it's old yeah it's 1956 and it's easy to work on
28:00because there's only a few little things we need to do to it
28:03namely the brakes it's an old car and the brakes are old so they're stuck in 1956
28:08so we need to just get the brakes working efficiently
28:11great i mean it feels like it belongs in a museum
28:14doesn't fill me with excitement if i'm really honest
28:16but let's get it up in the air let's have a look because um if that's what it needs
28:20that's what it needs
28:21well i was a bit taken aback by elvis
28:24clearly not a fan of really old cars
28:26but he doesn't have to like it he just has to trust
28:28my gut feeling that there's a profit to be had from the classic rover
28:36first thing i'm going to do is degrease the whole mechanism with brake cleaner
28:46so on the back of the drum here there's an adjuster
28:49and you can see that if i rotate the spanner up and down it moves the brake shoes in and
28:54out
28:54and that gives us the opportunity to control the amount of travel on the brake pedal
28:58when the driver hits the brakes between the frictional surfaces and the shoe here
29:02making contact with the rotating drum
29:04so i'm hoping that by making a small adjustment to the brake shoes position
29:07bringing the brake shoes closer to the drum
29:09it'll transform the effectiveness of the whole system
29:15the drum fits back over the shoes
29:18i check the adjustment one more time
29:20and that's job done
29:21perfect
29:28each wheel took me about an hour and the brake rebuild cost me nothing in parts
29:31which is a real result
29:32even though it's now a rare car it's a well-known brand and model
29:36so mike's chosen to advertise it on a mainstream classic car website
29:39to get it in front of as many eyes as possible as quickly as possible
29:44taking in the year and condition
29:46i carefully judged the price of our rover in relation to the handful that's out there on the market
29:52attractively pitched at five and a half thousand pounds
29:54it generated a few phone calls straight away
29:57hugh has come to view
30:00your old rover then
30:02you had that how many years ago
30:04i sold it in the 90s
30:081990s that's a long time ago
30:09so this is uh this is my 75
30:11what do you think
30:13i think it's super for 63 years old
30:15it's amazing isn't it
30:17i wish i could have lasted as long as that in that condition
30:20so what's this you're clutching on to
30:21now this is my car
30:23yes the one i had in the 80s
30:26that's lovely
30:27so now you're in the market for a nice rover again
30:30yes
30:30so um this one i've advertised it at 5,500
30:34which i thought was a really reasonable price
30:37what do you think
30:37i think you're a bit over the top
30:39do you
30:40and i think you should be
30:415,250
30:445,250
30:45yeah
30:46if you put another 50 pound on top of that
30:48call it 5 free
30:49car's yours
30:50go on
30:50there we are
30:51that's it
30:52shore rover sir
30:52you've got your old car back
30:54well done
30:55that's right
30:55yes
30:56and it'll be used every sunday
30:57lovely
30:58i remember to keep off the roads in teesside on sundays then
31:02no it's northumberland
31:06so the skyline fund is slowly building
31:09and i'm leaving our three grand loan in the pot
31:11because my tuck tuck contact den
31:13has just been in touch with an interesting offer
31:17you like motorbikes don't you
31:18i do
31:19you're gonna like these
31:20look at this
31:21these are little honda navis
31:23they're 110 cc little commuter bikes
31:26brand new they are
31:27they look like scooters
31:29nice
31:29you know the fella den
31:31that we got the tuck tuck off
31:32yeah
31:32he bought a tuck tuck over in a sea container
31:35packed eight of these bikes around it
31:37and now he just wants to offload all eight
31:39and he's asked me
31:40if i'm interested
31:41eight of them
31:42hey
31:42how much
31:43he wants six grand for the lot
31:45so that only works out
31:45once it's 750 quid a bike
31:47it's cheap isn't it
31:48we could sell those for over a grand couldn't we
31:50yeah i reckon
31:51that'd be like a 25% markup immediately
31:53yeah i mean they're brand new
31:55should we go for it
31:56i love it
31:56let me send him back a text right now
31:58i then
31:59we

32:04sent
32:05lovely
32:06i've never bought eight motorbikes before
32:08but we
32:08just have
32:09me neither
32:09i've been a scooter fan
32:11since i was a teenager
32:14and i've built and ridden them
32:15my whole life
32:18so now i'm keen to see what my latest scooter bike
32:21looks and rides like
32:26the navi bikes have arrived
32:28one is already road legal
32:29so i'm straight out to test it
32:33while elvis gives the other seven a check over
32:39well this really is a simple little bike
32:42it's just twist and go
32:44it's great fun
32:45right lal
32:46it handles brilliantly
32:47and is really comfortable
32:49and well balanced
32:50what i like about it most of all
32:52is the seating position
32:53i'm straddled across this petrol tank
32:55so it feels a bit like a motorbike
32:57but strictly speaking
32:59it's a scooter
33:07well what do you reckon
33:08absolutely wicked yeah
33:10i reckon we can get a gram for these easy
33:12i mean i reckon maybe even more
33:14because i've been through all of them while you've been out
33:15nothing wrong with any of them
33:16they're perfect
33:17i reckon we'd get these sold no problem
33:19brilliant
33:20these bikes aren't usually imported into the uk
33:23so people don't know them
33:24i've often found the best way to convince someone to buy
33:27is to show them off in the flesh
33:33i'm off to the home of the british grand prix
33:35where pit lane bikes are all the rage
33:38i'm hoping to snag a few well-heeled punters
33:47i've got four bikes on display
33:49and four in the back of my van
33:53next
33:54thousands of motorsport fans are flooding in
33:56as i try hard to kickstart some sales
33:59and the search for a suitable skyline begins
34:03it's had a little bit of minor body damage in the past
34:08we're on a trading journey to help photographer and gamer harlan
34:12turning virtual dream into an on-the-road reality
34:16i'm going to do it for you i'm going to take this away
34:18and i'm going to get you your nissan skyline

34:25let's be nice shall we
34:27now we're in deep
34:28i've spent almost their entire dream car fund on eight motorbikes
34:34i'm at silverstone race circuit trying to sell them as pit lane bikes
34:38i can clear a four grand profit
34:40if i can sell each one for 1250 pounds
34:44if you want to fire one up and go up and down the paddock
34:48to see if it's okay feel free
34:51there you go lovely
34:54nice one
34:57yeah he's uh

35:18pretty soon there's a real buzz around the bikes
35:21if you're interested just let me know but they will go they will go quickly
35:25i'm using that as a sales technique with passers-by
35:281250 they are
35:30yeah all right i'll think about it i'll come back
35:32yeah come back they'll be gone in half hour
35:34emphasizing the need to act fast
35:37helping to focus their minds on a decision
35:40okay i'll have one
35:41you want a black one
35:44done that's another one sold
35:46yes another navi finds a home i'm enjoying this
35:51i definitely chose the right place
35:53all the bikes sold our dream car fund is now just over 10 grand
36:00at long last it's time to repay ourselves the three grand loan we put in at the start of this
36:05journey
36:07the seven grand balance might be enough for harland's dream car
36:11and i've just spotted one for sale
36:13a guy called dylan has a japanese impulse r33 skyline he bought at auction in japan
36:18it's all uk legal and he's asking seven and a half grand for it
36:22over the years i've learned a lot of people can advertise their cars way over that actual value
36:27so i called him and i said would you be prepared to negotiate guess what he said yes
36:37that's lovely dylan hey very nice to meet you nice to meet you how are you i'm good thanks
36:42yeah excellent what a great looking car sounded lovely as well as you come around the corner
36:47let me just turn it off stick it over nicely in it yeah it drives smooth drives very well
36:52yeah it's nice i like the big boot spoiler on the rear the four lights looks good now you said
36:58you've got the auction report is this the paperwork here yeah i've got it in the bag the interior looks
37:02good yeah looks nice doesn't it yeah no holes in the dashboard all nice straight clean and tidy yeah
37:08everything works as well all the windows electronics nice which one let me just pop it out for you
37:13it's this one here lovely now i bought a few cars from japanese auctions and it's really fun
37:19thing to do and i can see this one's an ra which means it's had a little bit of minor
37:24body damage
37:24in the past but clearly wherever that was it's been done well i see a lot of japanese imports that
37:30are bought at auction and generally they're very good news because they are well careful cars and they
37:35represent really good value for money however if you're going to buy one make sure it's got a full
37:40auction report and if you can't read it then get it translated because if you buy a bad one
37:44it can be costly uh-huh look at that it's got a strap brace yeah it's got the strap brace
37:51it's
37:52got the air cone filter it's rb25 det so 2.5 turbo good well listen i like it any chance
37:59i can uh
37:59come feel what it's like out on the road yeah of course go for it
38:18although it's only got one single turbo this car it's still got some mighty power
38:22it really has and it delivers it beautifully
38:34i like it i do i like it it's very good inside here the cockpit it's not a bad place
38:40to be at all
38:40very simple nicely laid out as well everything seems to be functional and everything is working
38:47which is really nice even got air conditioning so the question is is this the right car for harlan
38:56well i think it'd be absolutely over the moon with it if i can go back and get it to
39:02seven grand
39:03then i think i've just found harlan's dream car
39:16how'd it go yeah good nice car it's fast it's smooth i love the suspension it's got good grip the
39:23engine's got good power um i'd like to buy it you want how much um so it's up for seven
